The paper is devoted to studying controllability properties for 3D Navier–Stokes equations in a bounded domain. We establish a sufficient condition under which the problem in question is exactly controllable in any finite-dimensional projection. Our sufficient condition is verified for any torus in R3R3. The proofs are based on a development of a general approach introduced by Agrachev and Sarychev in the 2D case. As a simple consequence of the result on controllability, we show that the Cauchy problem for the 3D Navier–Stokes system has a unique strong solution for any initial function and a large class of external forces.  相似文献

This paper presents a new numerical method for the compressible Navier–Stokes equations governing the flow of an ideal isentropic gas. To approximate the continuity equation, the method utilizes a discontinuous Galerkin discretization on piecewise constants and a basic upwind flux. For the momentum equation, the method is a new combined discontinuous Galerkin and finite element method approximating the velocity in the Crouzeix–Raviart finite element space. While the diffusion operator is discretized in a standard fashion, the convection and time-derivative are discretized using discontinuous Galerkin on the element average velocity and a Lax–Friedrich type flux. Our main result is convergence of the method to a global weak solution as discretization parameters go to zero. The convergence analysis constitutes a numerical version of the existence analysis of Lions and Feireisl.  相似文献

In this article, we study the large-time asymptotic behaviour of contact wave for the Cauchy problem of one-dimensional compressible Navier–Stokes equations with zero viscosity. When the Riemann problem for the Euler system admits a contact discontinuity solution, we can construct a contact wave, which approximates the contact discontinuity on any finite-time interval for small heat conduction and then runs away from it for large time, and prove that it is nonlinearly stable provided that the strength of contact discontinuity and the perturbation of the initial data are suitably small.  相似文献

The existence of global weak renormalized solutions to the evolution flow problems for compressible Navier–Stokes equations is established. The in/out flow problem in a bounded domain in three spatial dimensions is considered. A general mathematical theory for the flow problem is developed. Bibliography: 15 titles.  相似文献

We study the Navier–Stokes system describing the motion of a compressible viscous fluid driven by a nonlinear multiplicative stochastic force. We establish local in time existence (up to a positive stopping time) of a unique solution, which is strong in both PDE and probabilistic sense. Our approach relies on rewriting the problem as a symmetric hyperbolic system augmented by partial diffusion, which is solved via a suitable approximation procedure. We use the stochastic compactness method and the Yamada–Watanabe type argument based on the Gyöngy–Krylov characterization of convergence in probability. This leads to the existence of a strong (in the PDE sense) pathwise solution. Finally, we use various stopping time arguments to establish the local existence of a unique strong solution to the original problem.  相似文献

In this paper we consider compressible barotropic Navier–Stokes equations in one and two dimensions linearized around a constant steady state with Dirichlet boundary conditions. We explore the controllability of this linearized system using a control only for the velocity equation. We prove that the system with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions, is approximately controllable by a localized interior control when time is sufficiently large.  相似文献

We study the partial regularity problem of the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations. A reverse Hölder inequality of velocity gradient with increasing support is obtained under the condition that a scaled functional corresponding the local kinetic energy is uniformly bounded. As an application, we give a new bound for the Hausdorff dimension and the Minkowski dimension of singular set when weak solutions v belong to L(0,T;L3,w(R3)) where L3,w(R3) denotes the standard weak Lebesgue space.  相似文献

We study bounded ancient solutions of the Navier–Stokes equations. These are solutions with bounded velocity defined in R n × (−1, 0). In two space dimensions we prove that such solutions are either constant or of the form u(x, t) = b(t), depending on the exact definition of admissible solutions. The general 3-dimensional problem seems to be out of reach of existing techniques, but partial results can be obtained in the case of axisymmetric solutions. We apply these results to some scenarios of potential singularity formation for axi-symmetric solutions, and obtain extensions of results in a recent paper by Chen, Strain, Tsai and Yau [4].  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the inflow problem for the one-dimensional compressible Navier–Stokes equations. For such a problem, Matsumura and Nishihara showed in [10] that there exists boundary layer solution to the inflow problem, and that both the boundary layer solution, the rarefaction wave, and the superposition of boundary layer solution and rarefaction wave are nonlinear stable under small initial perturbation. The main purpose of this paper is to show that similar stability results for the boundary layer solution and the supersonic rarefaction wave still hold for a class of large initial perturbation which can allow the initial density to have large oscillation. The proofs are given by an elementary energy method and the key point is to deduce the desired lower and upper bounds on the density function.  相似文献

We prove the existence of global weak solutions to the Navier–Stokes equations for compressible isentropic fluids for any γ>1 when the Cauchy data are axisymmetric, where γ is the specific heat ratio. Moreover, we obtain a new integrability estimate of the density in any neighborhood of the symmetric axis (the singularity axis).  相似文献

We study the blowup phenomena of solutions to the compressible Navier–Stokes equations with density-dependent viscosity coefficients in arbitrary dimensions. By constructing a family of self-similar analytical solutions with spherical symmetry, some interesting information including the blowup and expanding properties are shown. In addition, the case of constant viscosity coefficients is also considered. The approach is based on the phase plane method.  相似文献
