Visible‐light‐driven plasmonic photocatalyst Ag‐TiO2 nanocomposite hollow spheres are prepared by a template‐free chemically‐induced self‐transformation strategy under microwave‐hydrothermal conditions, followed by a photochemical reduction process under xenon lamp irradiation. The prepared samples are characterized by using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray diffraction, N2 adsorption‐desorption isotherms, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, UV/Vis and Raman spectroscopy. Production of ?OH radicals on the surface of visible‐light illuminated TiO2 was detected by using a photoluminescence method with terephthalic acid as the probe molecule. The photocatalytic activity of as‐prepared samples was evaluated by photocatalytic decolorization of Rhodamine B (RhB) aqueous solution at ambient temperature under visible‐light irradiation. The results show that the surface plasmon absorption band of the silver nanoparticles supported on the TiO2 hollow spheres was red shifted, and a strong surface enhanced Raman scattering effect for the Ag‐TiO2 nanocomposite sample was observed. The prepared nanocomposite hollow spheres exhibits a highly visible‐light photocatalytic activity for photocatalytic degradation of RhB in water, and their photocatalytic activity is higher than that of pure TiO2 and commercial Degussa P25 (P25) powders. Especially, the as‐prepared Ag‐TiO2 nanocomposite hollow spheres at the nominal atomic ratio of silver to titanium ( R ) of 2 showed the highest photocatalytic activity, which exceeds that of P25 by a factor of more than 2.  相似文献

A nanoporous polymeric crystalline TiO2 composite (TiO2/PDVB‐MA) has been successfully synthesized through an in situ synthesis method using divinylbenzene (DVB), methacrylic acid (MA) and tetrabutyl titanate. The experimental results showed that TiO2 nanoparticles composed of the mixture phases of anatase and rutile were homogeneously dispersed into the PDVB‐MA support. The TiO2/PDVB‐MA composite was used as photocatalyst for Rhodamine B (RhB), bisphenol A and 2,4,6‐trichlorophenol degradation under visible light irradiation. More interestingly, the excellent photocatalytic performance of the composite was observed with regard to RhB and bisphenol A, which might be ascribed to the synergistic effect between TiO2 nanoparticles and PDVB‐MA. Moreover, TiO2/PDVB‐MA composite could be recycled at least four times in the removal of RhB, suggesting that it is a promising photocatalyst to catalyze the degradation of organic pollutants under visible light irradiation.  相似文献

The need for renewable energy focuses attention on hydrogen obtained by using sustainable and green methods. The sustainable compound glycerol can be used for hydrogen production by heterogeneous photocatalysis. A novel approach involves the promotion of the TiO2 photocatalyst with a binary combination of nitrogen and transition metal. We report the synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of the new N‐M‐TiO2 photocatalysts (M=none, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu), and the photocatalytic reforming of glycerol to hydrogen under ambient conditions and near‐UV or visible light versus benchmark P25 TiO2. In units of activity μmol m?2 h?1, N‐Ni‐TiO2 is five‐fold more active than P25, and N‐Cu‐TiO2 is 44‐fold more active. The photocatalytic activity of N‐M‐TiO2 increases from Cr to Co and Ni, whereas the photoluminescence decreases; the change in activity is due to the modulation of charge recombination.  相似文献

Visible light‐driven Al‐doped TiO2 with different aluminum contents (2, 5 and 10 mol%) were synthesized via a facile sol–gel method. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), UV‐visible diffuse reflectance, energy dispersive Xray (EDX) spectroscopy as well as X‐ray diffraction (XRD), X‐ray fluorescence (XRF) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) methods were used for the characterization of the obtained nanoparticles. The photocatalytic performance of the samples was evaluated by the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light irradiation. The yield of the degradation RhB was estimated to be 71%, 89%, 65% and 56%, for the bare TiO2, 2%, 5% and 10% Al‐doped TiO2, respectively. It was found that 2 mol% of Al‐doped TiO2 shows the best photocatalytic performance. In low concentration of dopant, separation of photogenerated electron–hole pairs promoted, and subsequently, the degradation efficiency increased. It was proposed that the degradation of RhB by 2 mol% Al‐doped TiO2 photocatalyst follows both N‐deethylation and chromophore cleavage mechanisms, while the N‐deethylation still predominated over cleavage of dye chromophore structure. The key role of hydroxyl radicals in RhB degradation was verified by the effects of scavengers. In addition, the photocatalyst can be reused for three runs without any significant loss of its catalytic activity.  相似文献

An Au/TiO2 nanostructure was constructed to obtain a highly efficient visible‐light‐driven photocatalyst. The design was based on a three‐dimensional ordered assembly of thin‐shell Au/TiO2 hollow nanospheres (Au/TiO2‐3 DHNSs). The designed photocatalysts exhibit not only a very high surface area but also photonic behavior and multiple light scattering, which significantly enhances visible‐light absorption. Thus Au/TiO2‐3 DHNSs exhibit a visible‐light‐driven photocatalytic activity that is several times higher than conventional Au/TiO2 nanopowders.  相似文献

A novel and facile method was developed to prepare a visible‐light driven TiO2/Ag‐AgCl@polypyrrole (PPy) photocatalyst with Ag‐AgCl nanoparticles supported on TiO2 nanofibers and covered by a thin PPy shell. During the synthesis, the PPy shell and Ag‐AgCl nanoparticles were prepared simultaneously onto TiO2 nanofibers, which simplified the preparation procedure. In addition, because Ag‐AgCl aggregates were fabricated via partly etching the Ag nanoparticles, their size was well controlled at the nanoscale, which was beneficial for improvement of the contact surface area. Compared with reference photocatalysts, the TiO2/Ag‐AgCl@PPy composite exhibited an enhanced photodegradation activity towards rhodamine B under visible‐light irradiation. The superior photocatalytic property originated from synergistic effects between TiO2 nanofibers, Ag‐AgCl nanoparticles and the PPy shell. Furthermore, the TiO2/Ag‐AgCl@PPy composite could be easily separated and recycled without obvious reduction in activity.  相似文献

As a typical photocatalyst for CO2 reduction, practical applications of TiO2 still suffer from low photocatalytic efficiency and limited visible‐light absorption. Herein, a novel Au‐nanoparticle (NP)‐decorated ordered mesoporous TiO2 (OMT) composite (OMT‐Au) was successfully fabricated, in which Au NPs were uniformly dispersed on the OMT. Due to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect derived from the excited Au NPs, the TiO2 shows high photocatalytic performance for CO2 reduction under visible light. The ordered mesoporous TiO2 exhibits superior material and structure, with a high surface area that offers more catalytically active sites. More importantly, the three‐dimensional transport channels ensure the smooth flow of gas molecules, highly efficient CO2 adsorption, and the fast and steady transmission of hot electrons excited from the Au NPs, which lead to a further improvement in the photocatalytic performance. These results highlight the possibility of improving the photocatalysis for CO2 reduction under visible light by constructing OMT‐based Au‐SPR‐induced photocatalysts.  相似文献

Herein we report a simple synthetic protocol for N‐doped yellow TiO2 (N‐TiO2) hollow spheres as an efficient visible‐light‐active photocatalyst using aqueous titanium peroxocarbonate complex (TPCC) solution as precursor and NH4OH. In the developed strategy, the ammonium ion of TPCC and NH4OH acts as nitrogen source and structure‐directing agent. The synthesized N‐TiO2 hollow spheres are capable of promoting the synthesis of active esters of N‐hydroxyimide and alcohol through simultaneous selective oxidation of alcohol to aldehyde followed by cross‐dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) under ambient conditions upon irradiation of visible light. It is possible to develop a novel and cost‐effective one‐pot strategy for the synthesis of important esters and amides on gram scale using the developed strategy. The catalytic activity of N‐TiO2 hollow spheres is much superior to that of other reported N‐TiO2 samples as well as TiO2 with varying morphology.

Doping is an efficient approach to narrow the band gap of TiO2 and enhance its photocatalytic activity. Here, we perform generalized gradient approximation (GGA)+U calculations to narrow the band gap of TiO2 by codoping of X (F, N) with transition metals (TM = Fe, Co) to extend the absorption edge to longer visible‐light wavelengths. Our results show that all the codoped systems can narrow the band gap significantly, in particular, (F+Fe)‐codoped system could serve as remarkably better photocatalysts with both narrowing of the band gap and relatively smaller formation energies than those of (F+Co) and (N+TM)‐codoped systems. Our results provide useful guidance for codoped TiO2 efficient for photocatalytic activity. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

A novel single‐source precursor NaGd(TFA)4(diglyme) (TFA=trifluoroacetate) was synthesized, characterized thoroughly, and used to obtain the hexagonal phase of NaGdF4 nanoparticles as an efficient matrix for lanthanide‐doped upconverting nanocrystals (NCs) that convert near‐infrared radiation into shorter‐wavelength UV/visible light. These NCs were then used to prepare well‐characterized TiO2@NaGdF4:Yb3+,Tm3+ nanocomposites to extend the absorption range of the TiO2 photocatalyst from the UV to the IR region. While the visible/near IR part of the photoluminescent spectra remains almost unaffected by the presence of TiO2, the UV part is strongly quenched due to the absorption of TiO2 above its gap at approximately 380 nm by energy transfer or FRET. Preliminary results on the photocatalytic activity of the above obtained nanocomposites are presented.  相似文献

Semiconductor‐based photocatalysis is an environmental friendly and cost‐effective technique for water treatment. Due to their unique properties, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are considered as ideal platform to develop composite photocatalyst. In this study, Bismuth oxychloride (BiOCl) was first attempt to be incorporated with highly stable MOFs, UiO‐66(Zr) by hydrothermal reaction. Different characterization methods including X‐ray diffraction, Scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscope, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy had been used to prove the successful synthesis of composite photocatalyst. The resultant BiOCl/UiO‐66 composite showed higher photodegradation performance of Rhodamine B (RhB) under ultraviolet and visible light irradiation than that of pristine materials and their mechanically mixed sample. In addition, the composite exhibited good structural stability and reusability. The photocatalytic mechanism of RhB degradation over the composite under visible light proceeded via a photosensitization process. A better adsorptivity of RhB and effective electron transfer within the hybrid material might be responsible for the enhanced photocatalytic performance.  相似文献

Hierarchical macro‐/mesoporous N‐doped TiO2/graphene oxide (N‐TiO2/GO) composites were prepared without using templates by the simple dropwise addition mixed solution of tetrabutyl titanate and ethanol containg graphene oxide (GO) to the ammonia solution, and then calcined at 350 °C. The as‐prepared samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Brunauer‐Emmett‐Teller (BET) surface area, X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and UV‐Vis absorption spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange in an aqueous solution under visible‐light irradiation. The results show that N‐TiO2/GO composites exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity. GO content exhibited an obvious influence on photocatalytic performance, and the optimal GO addition content was 1 wt%. The enhanced photocatalytic activity could be attributed to the synergetic effects of three factors including the improved visible light absorption, the hierarchical macro‐mesoporous structure, and the efficient charge separation by GO.  相似文献

Near‐monodisperse Bi‐doped anatase TiO2 nanospheres with almost uniform diameters in the range of 117 to 87 nm were prepared simply by introducing different amounts of bismuth nitrate pentahydrate into the reaction system and subsequent calcinations. X‐ray diffraction, UV‐visible diffuse reflectance spectra, and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy confirm that the doped ions substitute some of the lattice titanium atoms, and furthermore, Bi3+ and Bi4+ ions coexist. All the Bi‐doped TiO2 samples show much better photocatalytic activity than pure TiO2 in the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) under the irradiation of visible light (λ>420 nm), and, interestingly, it was found that the degradation mechanism is different from the conventional one, which has already been reported elsewhere. The detailed mechanism is discussed in this article.  相似文献

Bi‐ and Y‐codoped TiO2 photocatalysts were synthesized through a sol‐gel method, and they were applied in the photocatalytic reduction of CO2 to formic acid under visible light irradiation. The results revealed that, after doping Bi and Y, the surface area of TiO2 was increased from 5.4 to 93.1 m2/g when the mole fractions of doping Bi and Y were 1.0% and 0.5%, respectively, and the lattice structures of the photocatalysts changed and the oxygen vacancies on the surface of the photocatalysts formed, which would act as the electron capture centers and slow down the recombination of photo‐induced electron and hole. The photocurrent spectra also proved that the photocatalysts had better electronic transmission capacities. The HCOOH yield in CO2 photocatalytic reduction was 747.82 μmol/gcat by using 1% Bi‐0.5% Y‐TiO2 as a photocatalyst. The HCOOH yield was 1.17 times higher than that by using 1% Bi‐TiO2, and 2.23 times higher than that by using pure TiO2. Furthermore, the 1% Bi‐0.5% Y‐TiO2 showed the highest apparent quantum efficiency (AQE) of 4.45%.  相似文献

This work reports on the synthesis of Li‐doped TiO2 nanoparticles using the sol–gel process and solid‐state sintering, and investigates their potential use as a photocatalyst for degradation under sunlight excitation of different organic model compounds in aqueous solution. The structure of the nanocrystals was examined by X‐ray diffraction, UV‐vis ground state diffuse reflectance absorption spectra and X‐ray photoelectron emission spectroscopy. Results showed that samples prepared by sol–gel process and calcined at 400 °C are composed of a mixture of anatase and rutile phases, in contrast to the one prepared by solid‐state sintering, which exhibits an anatase phase with Li being involved in a spinel phase. The photocatalytic degradation of aqueous solutions of different aromatic compounds was successfully achieved under sunlight excitation in presence of Li‐doped TiO2 prepared via sol–gel process. It was shown that the calcination temperature and the preparation mode greatly affect the photocatalytic efficiency. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Mesoporous RuO2–TiO2 nanocomposites at different RuO2 concentrations (0–10 wt %) are prepared through a simple one‐step sol–gel reaction of tetrabutyl orthotitanate with ruthenium(III) acetylacetonate in the presence of an F127 triblock copolymer as structure‐directing agent. The thus‐formed RuO2–TiO2 network gels are calcined at 450 °C for 4 h leading to mesoporous RuO2–TiO2 nanocomposites. The photocatalytic CH3OH oxidation to HCHO is chosen as the test reaction to examine the photocatalytic activity of the mesoporous RuO2–TiO2 nanocomposites under UV and visible light. The photooxidation of CH3OH is substantially affected by the loading amount and the degree of dispersion of RuO2 particles onto the TiO2, which indicates the exclusive effect of the RuO2 nanoparticles on this photocatalytic reaction under visible light. The measured photonic efficiency ξ=0.53 % of 0.5 wt % RuO2–TiO2 nanocomposite for CH3OH oxidation is maximal and the further increase of RuO2 loading up to 10 wt % gradually decreases this value. The cause of the visible‐light photocatalytic behavior is the incorporation of small amounts of Ru4+ into the anatase lattice. On the other hand, under UV light, undoped TiO2 shows a very good photonic efficiency, which is more than three times that for commercial photocatalyst, P‐25 (Evonik–Degussa); however, addition of RuO2 suppresses the photonic efficiency of TiO2. The proposed reaction mechanism based on the observed behavior of RuO2–TiO2 photocatalysts under UV and visible light is explored.  相似文献

Mn–N-codoped TiO2 nanocrystal photocatalysts responsive to visible light were synthesized for the first time by a simple hydrothermal synthesis method. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) measurement indicated that all the photocatalysts have an anatase crystallite structure, and that increase of the doping concentration had little effect on the structure and particle size. Compared to N-doped TiO2, a shift of the absorption edge of Mn–N-codoped TiO2 to a lower energy and a stronger absorption in the visible light region were observed. The Mn–N-codoped TiO2 showed higher photocatalytic reactivity than undoped TiO2 or N-doped TiO2 for the photodegradation of rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light irradiation. The highest photocatalytic activity was achieved on 0.4 mol% Mn–N–TiO2 calcined at 673 K.  相似文献

Bandgap narrowing and a more positive valence band (VB) potential are generally considered to be effective methods for improving visible‐light‐driven photocatalysts because of the significant enhancement of visible‐light absorption and oxidation ability. Herein, an approach is reported for the synthesis of a novel visible‐light‐driven high performance polymer photocatalyst based on band structure control and nonmetal and metal ion codoping, that is, C and Fe‐codoped as a model, by a simple thermal conversion method. The results indicate that compared to pristine graphitic carbon nitride (g‐C3N4), C+Fe‐codoped g‐C3N4 shows a narrower bandgap and remarkable positively shifted VB; as a result the light‐absorption range was expanded and the oxidation capability was increased. Experimental results show that the catalytic efficiency of C+Fe‐codoped g‐C3N4 for photodegradation of rhodamine B (RhB) increased 14 times, compared with pristine g‐C3N4 under visible‐light absorption at λ>420 nm. The synergistic enhancement in C+Fe‐codoped g‐C3N4 photocatalyst could be attributed to the following features: 1) C+Fe‐codoping of g‐C3N4 tuned the bandgap and improved visible‐light absorption; 2) the porous lamellar structure and decreased particle size could provide a high surface area and greatly improve photogenerated charge separation and electron transfer; and 3) both increased electrical conductivity and a more positive VB ensured the superior electron‐transport property and high oxidation capability. The results imply that a high‐performance photocatalyst can be obtained by combining bandgap control and doping modification; this may provide a basic concept for the rational design of high performance polymer photocatalysts with reasonable electronic structures for unique photochemical reaction.  相似文献

Graphene oxide (GO) and silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) sequentially decorated nitrogen‐doped titania nanotube array (N‐TiO2 NTA) had been designed as visible‐light‐driven self‐cleaning surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate for a recyclable SERS detection application. N‐TiO2 NTA was fabricated by anodic oxidation and then doping nitrogen treatment in ammonia atmosphere, acting as a visible‐light‐driven photocatalyst and supporting substrate. Ag/GO/N‐TiO2 NTA was prepared by decorating GO monolayer through an impregnation process and then depositing Ag NPs through a polyol process on the surface of N‐TiO2 NTA, acting as the collection of organic molecule and Raman enhancement. The SERS activity of Ag/GO/N‐TiO2 NTA was evaluated using methyl blue as an organic probe molecule, revealing the analytical enhancement factor of 4.54 × 104. Ag/GO/N‐TiO2 NTA was applied as active SERS substrate to determine a low‐affinity organic pollutant of bisphenol A, revealing the detection limit of as low as 5 × 10?7 m . Ag/GO/N‐TiO2 NTA could also achieve self‐cleaning function for a recycling utilization through visible‐light‐driven photocatalytic degradation of the adsorbed organic molecules. Ag/GO/N‐TiO2 NTA has been successfully reused for five times without an obvious decay in accuracy and sensitivity for organic molecule detection. The unique properties of this SERS substrate enable it to have a promising application for the sensitive and recyclable SERS detection of low‐affinity organic molecules.
