Aluminium‐27 nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (27Al NMR) does not yield fully resolved spectra for end‐group aluminates attached to different silicate species. For example, the chemical shifts of all q1 (end‐group aluminates) lying in the range δ ≈ 72.2–77 ppm are observed on average at δ ≈ 74.6 ppm in an NMR spectrum. With the aim of better characterisation of different q1 linked units, we first made some attempts to resolve the signals that might arise from different q1 linkages through the application of suitable experimental methods and then followed up this work by applying some calculation methods. Some of the observed differences and evidence have not been previously detected experimentally, but were clearly apparent from our calculations (Table 1) as well as in our experimental data. Therefore, in such a situation, theoretical calculations of NMR chemical shifts can be very helpful and can provide some missing information.  相似文献

Density functional calculations of 1H NMR spectra and reaction barriers at the ωB97XD/6‐311G(d,p)/continuum water level do not support the claimed identification of encarcerated 1,3‐dimethylcyclobutadiene in either the solid state or aqueous solution, as reported by Barboiu et al (Chem. Eur. 2011 , 17, 10021). Instead, previous suggestions that the species identified in the solid state is in fact 2‐oxabicyclo[2.2.0]hex‐5‐en‐3‐one (the Dewar lactone Me22 ) are reaffirmed. Analysis of the ground‐state electronic structure of this species indicates an unusual π‐anomeric effect is promoting a Dunitz‐like chemical reaction pathway leading to the eventual elimination of carbon dioxide and formation of 1,3‐dimethylcyclobutadiene.  相似文献

A series of aryl‐substituted enaminoketones and their thio analogues in CDCl3 solution and in the solid state were studied by the use of high‐resolution 1H and 13C as well as 13C cross polarization magic angle spinning (CP MAS) NMR spectra in combination with gauge including atomic orbitals‐density functional theory (GIAO‐DFT) calculations performed at the B3PW91/6–311 + + G(d,p) level of theory using the B3PW91/6‐311 + + G(d,p)‐optimized geometries. The analysis of the 13C NMR spectra in solution was done by using the Incredible Natural Abundance DoublE QUAntum Transfer Experiment (INADEQUATE) technique, whereas trends observed in the 13C shielding constants, calculated for the compounds studied, were a great help in assigning most of the signals in the 13C CP MAS NMR spectra. It was established on the basis of the experimental and theoretical NMR data that both groups of compounds exist in the form of Z‐s‐Z‐s‐E isomers in CDCl3 solution as well as in the solid state, with the NH hydrogen atom involved in intramolecular hydrogen bonding. This conclusion is in agreement with the fact that some of the compounds studied reveal liquid‐crystalline properties. Three‐bond H, H and C, H coupling constants measured in solution played a crucial role in the structure elucidation. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are an extremely important class of porous materials with many applications. The metal centers in many important MOFs are zinc cations. However, their Zn environments have not been characterized directly by 67Zn solid‐state NMR (SSNMR) spectroscopy. This is because 67Zn (I=5/2) is unreceptive with many unfavorable NMR characteristics, leading to very low sensitivity. In this work, we report, for the first time, a 67Zn natural abundance SSNMR spectroscopic study of several representative zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) and MOFs at an ultrahigh magnetic field of 21.1 T. Our work demonstrates that 67Zn magic‐angle spinning (MAS) NMR spectra are highly sensitive to the local Zn environment and can differentiate non‐equivalent Zn sites. The 67Zn NMR parameters can be predicted by theoretical calculations. Through the study of MOF‐5 desolvation, we show that with the aid of computational modeling, 67Zn NMR spectroscopy can provide valuable structural information on the MOF systems with structures that are not well described. Using ZIF‐8 as an example, we further demonstrate that 67Zn NMR spectroscopy is highly sensitive to the guest molecules present inside the cavities. Our work also shows that a combination of 67Zn NMR data and molecular dynamics simulation can reveal detailed information on the distribution and the dynamics of the guest species. The present work establishes 67Zn SSNMR spectroscopy as a new tool complementary to X‐ray diffraction for solving outstanding structural problems and for determining the structures of many new MOFs yet to come.  相似文献

The tautomeric structure of 4‐trifluoromethyl[b]benzo‐1,4‐diazepine system in solution has been evaluated by means of the calculation of 15N NMR chemical shifts of individual tautomers in comparison with the averaged experimental shifts to show that the enamine–imine equilibrium is entirely shifted toward the imine form. The adequacy of the theoretical level used for the computation of 15N NMR chemical shifts in this case has been verified based on the benchmark calculations in the series of the push–pull and captodative enamines together with related azomethynes, which demonstrated a good to excellent agreement with experiment. Over zeolite H‐ZSM‐5, the aromatics‐based hydrocarbon‐pool mechanism of methanol‐to‐olefins (MTO) reaction was studied by GC‐MS, solid‐state NMR spectroscopy, and theoretical calculations. Isotopic‐labeling experimental results demonstrated that polymethylbenzenes (MBs) are intimately correlated with the formation of olefin products in the initial stage. More importantly, three types of cyclopentenyl cations (1,3‐dimethylcyclopentenyl, 1,2,3‐trimethylcyclopentenyl, and 1,3,4‐trimethylcyclopentenyl cations) and a pentamethylbenzenium ion were for the first time identified by solid‐state NMR spectroscopy and DFT calculations under both co‐feeding ([13C6]benzene and methanol) conditions and typical MTO working (feeding [13C]methanol alone) conditions. The comparable reactivity of the MBs (from xylene to tetramethylbenzene) and the carbocations (trimethylcyclopentenyl and pentamethylbenzium ions) in the MTO reaction was revealed by 13C‐labeling experiments, evidencing that they work together through a paring mechanism to produce propene. The paring route in a full aromatics‐based catalytic cycle was also supported by theoretical DFT calculations.  相似文献

3‐O‐Acetyl‐11‐keto‐β‐boswelliasäure was extracted from pulverized frankincense and purified by HPLC. All analytical spectra were recorded and are reproduced either in the main part or in the supporting information. The NMR‐ and mass‐spectra have been interpreted and compared with theoretical calculations of the 13C chemical shifts. The project is a follow up of the recent book “Classics in Spectroscopy” by S. Berger und D. Sicker (Wiley‐VCH 2009).  相似文献

A new in‐situ NMR strategy (termed CLASSIC NMR) for mapping the evolution of crystallization processes is reported, involving simultaneous measurement of both liquid‐state and solid‐state NMR spectra as a function of time. This combined strategy allows complementary information to be obtained on the evolution of both the solid and liquid phases during the crystallization process. In particular, as crystallization proceeds (monitored by solid‐state NMR), the solution state becomes more dilute, leading to changes in solution‐state speciation and the modes of molecular aggregation in solution, which are monitored by liquid‐state NMR. The CLASSIC NMR experiment is applied here to yield new insights into the crystallization of m‐aminobenzoic acid.  相似文献

The X-ray crystal structure of 1H-pyrazole-3-(N-tert-butyl)-carboxamide was determined. In the solid state, the 13C and 15N CP/MAS NMR spectra correspond to this tautomer. In solution, both tautomers are present in a ratio that depends on the temperature (at 293 K, 90% 3-substituted/10% 5-substituted). Some unusual 1H, 1H couplings involving the NH proton were observed. DFT (GIAO) calculations were carried out.  相似文献

The interaction between trivalent lanthanide ions and poly(1,4,7,10,13‐pentaoxacyclopentadecan‐2‐yl‐methyl methacrylate), PCR5, in aqueous solution and in the solid state have been studied. In aqueous solution, evidence of a weak interaction between the lanthanides and PCR5 comes from the small red shift of the Ce(III) emission spectra and the slight broadening of the Gd(III) EPR spectra. From the Tb(III) lifetimes in the presence of H2O and D2O the loss of one or two water coordinated molecules is confirmed when Tb(III) is bound to PCR5. An association constant of the order of 200 M?1 was obtained for a 1:1 (lanthanide:15‐crown‐5) complex from the shift of the polymer NMR signals induced by Tb(III). A similar association constant is obtained from the differences of the molar conductivity of Ce(III) solution at various concentrations in presence and absence of PCR5. When Tb(III) is adsorbed on PCR5 membranes, lifetime experiments in H2O and D2O confirm the loss of 5 or 6 water coordinated molecules indicating that in solid state the lanthanide(III)‐PCR5 interaction is stronger than in solution. The adsorption of Ce(III) in PCR5 membranes shows a Langmuir type isotherm, from which an equilibrium constant of 39 M?1 has been calculated. SEM shows that the membrane morphology is not much affected by lanthanide adsorption. Support for lanthanide ion–crown interactions comes from ab initio calculations on 15‐crown‐5/La(III) complex. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of transition‐metal organometallic complexes with commonly occurring metal? chlorine bonding motifs were characterized using 35Cl solid‐state NMR (SSNMR) spectroscopy, 35Cl nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) spectroscopy, and first‐principles density functional theory (DFT) calculations of NMR interaction tensors. Static 35Cl ultra‐wideline NMR spectra were acquired in a piecewise manner at standard (9.4 T) and high (21.1 T) magnetic field strengths using the WURST‐QCPMG pulse sequence. The 35Cl electric field gradient (EFG) and chemical shielding (CS) tensor parameters were readily extracted from analytical simulations of the spectra; in particular, the quadrupolar parameters are shown to be very sensitive to structural differences, and can easily differentiate between chlorine atoms in bridging and terminal bonding environments. 35Cl NQR spectra were acquired for many of the complexes, which aided in resolving structurally similar, yet crystallographically distinct and magnetically inequivalent chlorine sites, and with the interpretation and assignment of 35Cl SSNMR spectra. 35Cl EFG tensors obtained from first‐principles DFT calculations are consistently in good agreement with experiment, highlighting the importance of using a combined approach of theoretical and experimental methods for structural characterization. Finally, a preliminary example of a 35Cl SSNMR spectrum of a transition‐metal species (TiCl4) diluted and supported on non‐porous silica is presented. The combination of 35Cl SSNMR and 35Cl NQR spectroscopy and DFT calculations is shown to be a promising and simple methodology for the characterization of all manner of chlorine‐containing transition‐metal complexes, in pure, impure bulk and supported forms.  相似文献

Infrared, Raman and INS spectra of picolinic acid N-oxide (PANO) were recorded and examined for the location of the hydronic modes, particularly O-H stretching and COH bending. PANO is representative of strong chelate hydrogen bonds (H-bonds) with its short O...O distance (2.425 A). H-bonding is possibly well-characterized by diffraction, NMR and NQR data and calculated potential energy functions. The analysis of the spectra is assisted by DFT frequency calculations both in the gas phase and in the solid state. The Car-Parrinello quantum mechanical solid-state method is also used for the proton dynamics simulation; it shows the hydron to be located about 99% of time in the energy minimum near the carboxylic oxygen; jumps to the N-O acceptor are rare. The infrared spectrum excels by an extended absorption (Zundel's continuum) interrupted by numerous Evans transmissions. The model proton potential functions on which the theories of continuum formation are based do not correspond to the experimental and computed characteristics of the hydrogen bond in PANO, therefore a novel approach has been developed; it is based on crystal dynamics driven hydronium potential fluctuation. The envelope of one hundred 0 --> 1 OH stretching transitions generated by molecular dynamics simulation exhibits a maximum at 1400 cm-1 and a minor hump at approximately 1600 cm-1. These positions square well with ones predicted for the COH bending and OH stretching frequencies derived from various one- and two-dimensional model potentials. The coincidences with experimental features have to be considered with caution because the CPMD transition envelope is based solely on the OH stretching coordinate while the observed infrared bands correspond to heavily mixed modes as was previously shown by the normal coordinate analysis of the IR spectrum of argon matrix isolated PANO, the present CPMD frequency calculation and the empirical analysis of spectra. The experimental infrared spectra show some unusual characteristics such as large temperature effects on the intensity of some bands, thus presenting a challenge for theoretical band shape treatments. Our calculations clearly show that the present system is characterized by an asymmetric single well potential with no large amplitudes in the hydronium motion, which extends the existence of Zundel-type spectra beyond the established set of hydrogen bonds with large hydronic vibrational amplitudes.  相似文献

Chemical shifts delta and spin-spin coupling constants J have been calculated using quantum chemistry approaches for the gamma-amino butyric acid GABA which is a brain metabolite. Two theoretical methods HF and DFT/B3LYP, two basis sets 6-31G* and 6-311+G(2d,p) and two gauge-invariant methods CSGT and GIAO have been used. From delta and J values, NMR spectra have been obtained from the strongly coupled spin system Hamiltonian using the NMR-SCOPE package. Solvent effects have been considered within the polarisable continuum model. Comparisons between calculated and experimental NMR spectra at 300 MHz show that our best results correspond to the B3LYP/6-311+G(2d,p)-GIAO calculations. They are seen to be in good agreement with experiment. This demonstrates the usefulness of quantum chemistry methods for estimating NMR spin Hamiltonian parameters involved in specific algorithms used for quantitation of metabolites such as GABA.  相似文献

The biologically active alkaloid muscimol is present in fly agaric mushroom (Amanita muscaria), and its structure and action is related to human neurotransmitter γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA). The current study reports on determination of muscimol form present in water solution using multinuclear 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiments supported by density functional theory molecular modeling. The structures of three forms of free muscimol molecule both in the gas phase and in the presence of water solvent, modeled by polarized continuous model, and nuclear magnetic isotropic shieldings, the corresponding chemical shifts, and indirect spin–spin coupling constants were calculated. Several J-couplings observed in proton and carbon NMR spectra, not available before, are reported. The obtained experimental spectra, supported by theoretical calculations, favor the zwitterion form of muscimol in water. This structure differs from NH isomer, previously determined in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solution. In addition, positions of signals C3 and C5 are reversed in both solvents.  相似文献

α,β‐Hybrid oligomers of varying lengths with alternating proteogenic α‐amino acid and the rigid β2,3,3‐trisubstituted bicyclic amino acid ABOC residues were studied using both X‐ray crystal and NMR solution structures. While only an 11/9 helix was obtained in the solid state regardless of the length of the oligomers, conformational polymorphism as a chain‐length‐dependent phenomenon was observed in solution. Consistent with DFT calculations, we established that short oligomers adopted an 11/9 helix, whereas an 18/16 helix was favored for longer oligomers in solution. A rapid interconversion between the 11/9 helix and the 18/16 helix occurred for oligomers of intermediate length.  相似文献

β‐nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is highly sensitive compared to conventional NMR spectroscopy, and may be applied for several elements across the periodic table. β‐NMR has previously been successfully applied in the fields of nuclear and solid‐state physics. In this work, β‐NMR is applied, for the first time, to record an NMR spectrum for a species in solution. 31Mg β‐NMR spectra are measured for as few as 107 magnesium ions in ionic liquid (EMIM‐Ac) within minutes, as a prototypical test case. Resonances are observed at 3882.9 and 3887.2 kHz in an external field of 0.3 T. The key achievement of the current work is to demonstrate that β‐NMR is applicable for the analysis of species in solution, and thus represents a novel spectroscopic technique for use in general chemistry and potentially in biochemistry.  相似文献

A full account of our studies of 2,4,6‐trinitrophenol (TNP) sensing is provided. A series of chemosensors 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 with a variety of aromatic chromophores for specific recognition of TNP has been designed and then realized through the fluorescence “on/off” mechanism. These chemosensors demonstrated highly selective, sensitive, and fluorescent quenching of TNP with remarkable visual changes through the intramolecular charge‐transfer (ICT) process. Their host–guest interactions were investigated by 1H NMR spectroscopic titrations and their corresponding co‐crystal structures, which showed that the 1:1 host–guest complexes were formed by multiple hydrogen‐bond interactions in solution or in the solid state. The origins of the significant affinity demonstrated during the fluorescence recognition process were further disclosed through DFT calculations of corresponding compounds.  相似文献

The potential of high‐field NMR to measure solid‐state 95Mo and 183W NMR in polyoxometalates (POMs) is explored using some archetypical structures like Lindqvist, Keggin and Dawson as model compounds that are well characterized in solution. NMR spectra in static and under magic angle spinning (MAS) were obtained, and their analysis allowed extraction of the NMR parameters, including chemical shift anisotropy and quadrupolar coupling parameters. Despite the inherent difficulties of measurement in solid state of these low‐gamma NMR nuclei, due mainly to the low spectral resolution and poor signal‐to‐noise ratio, the observed global trends compare well with the solution‐state NMR data. This would open an avenue for application of solid‐state NMR to POMs, especially when liquid‐state NMR is not possible, e.g., for poorly soluble or unstable compounds in solution, and for giant molecules with slow tumbling motion. This is the case of Keplerate where we provide here the first NMR characterization of this class of POMs in the solid state. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Shatruk and Alabugin propose an alternative structural model for the observed electron density that we have attributed to the photochemical formation of 1,3‐dimethylcyclobutadiene in a protective solid crystalline matrix. The main criticism from Shatruk and Alabugin concerns the modeling of the disorder in the calixarene cavity and in particular the neglect of a residual electron density close to the O1 atom. We published (Chem. Eur. J. 2011 , 17, 10021) our opinion concerning this “ignored peak” in the Supporting Information of the paper. The current response to the Correspondence demonstrates that Shatruk and Alabugin have over‐modeled our data by assigning a small electron density peak, which is hardly more than the density corresponding to a hydrogen atom, to an under‐occupied oxygen site, using inappropriate refinement contraints.  相似文献

A series of six small alkylmercury hydrides of the general formula RHgH with R=methyl, ethyl, n‐propyl, isopropyl, n‐butyl, and 3‐butenyl were obtained by reduction in vacuo of the corresponding mercury halide with tributyltin hydride in the presence of a radical inhibitor. These very reactive compounds, which have to be removed from the reaction mixture as they are formed, were characterized by 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The IR spectra of n‐propyl‐, isopropyl‐, n‐butyl‐, and 3‐butenylmercury hydride were recorded for the first time. All compounds were then studied by density functional theory calculations on the basis of a recent theoretical assessment for alkylmercury compounds performed by our group. Comparison of the experimental and theoretical results allowed the assignment of the vibrational modes in an unambiguous way, in spite of the low intrinsic stability of some of the derivatives investigated. The experimental procedure implemented for registering the IR spectra of these unstable species in the gas phase allowed us to obtain reasonable estimates of their lifetimes.  相似文献
