Based on a 4 x 4 matrix spectral problem, an AKNS soliton hierarchy with six potentials is generated. Associated with this spectral problem, a kind of Riemann-Hilbert problems is formulated for a six-component system of mKdV equations in the resulting AKNS hierarchy. Soliton solutions to the considered system of coupled mKdV equations are computed, through a reduced Riemann-Hilbert problem where an identity jump matrix is taken.  相似文献

The paper investigates the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the 2 × 2 matrix factorization (Riemann-Hilbert) problem with rapidly oscillating off-diagonal elements and quadratic phase function. A new approach to study such problems based on the ideas of the stationary phase method and M. G. Krein’s theory is proposed. The problem is model for investigating the asymptotic behavior of solutions to factorization problems with several turning points. Power-order complete asymptotic expansions for solutions to the problem under consideration are found. These asymptotics are used to construct asymptotics for solutions to the Cauchy problem for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation at large times.  相似文献

In this paper, the authors consider the Harry-Dym equation on the line with decaying initial value. They construct the solution of the Harry-Dym equation via the solution of a 2 × 2 matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem in the complex plane. We consider polynomials orthogonal on [0,∞) with respect to Laguerre-type weights w(x) = xα e-Q(x), where α > -1 and where Q denotes a polynomial with positive leading coefficient. The main purpose of this paper is to determine Plancherel-Rotach-type asymptotics in the entire complex plane for the orthonormal polynomials with respect to w, as well as asymptotics of the corresponding recurrence coefficients and of the leading coefficients of the orthonormal polynomials. As an application we will use these asymptotics to prove universality results in random matrix theory. We will prove our results by using the characterization of orthogonal polynomials via a 2 × 2 matrix valued Riemann--Hilbert problem, due to Fokas, Its, and Kitaev, together with an application of the Deift-Zhou steepest descent method to analyze the Riemann-Hilbert problem asymptotically.  相似文献

We extend the Riemann-Hilbert approach to the TD equation, which is a highly nonlinear differential integrable equation. Zero boundary condition at infinity for the TD equation is not suitable. Inverse scattering transform for this equation involves the singular Riemann-Hilbert problem, which means that the sectionally analytic functions have singularities on the boundary curve. Regularization procedures of the singular Riemann-Hilbert problem for two cases, the general case and the case for reflectionless potentials, are considered. Solitonic solutions to the TD equation are given.  相似文献

In this paper, we study mathematical properties of an integro-differential equation that arises as a particular limit case in the study of individual cell-based model. We obtain global well-posedness for some classes of interaction potentials and finite time blow-up for others. The existence of space homogeneous steady states as well as long-time asymptotics for the solutions of the problem is also discussed.  相似文献

We consider an initial-boundary value problem for a nonlinear parabolic system. Using perturbation methods, this problem is reduced to one of considering an evolution equation for the long-time asymptotics of the system. This model can be related to the leading order approximation for a spatially inhomogeneous reaction-diffusion system with time-dependent forcing. The evolution equation yields solutions with steady state shocks. We study some of the subtle effects introduced by time-dependent forcing. Most significant among these effects is the creation of “forbidden regions” where stationary shocks cannot form. Results are presented for bi- and tri-stable one-dimensional models as well as multidimensional systems.  相似文献

We prove the sharp global well-posedness result for the initial value problem (IVP) associated to the system of the modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation. For the single mKdV equation such result has been obtained by using Mirura’s Transform that takes the KdV equation to the mKdV equation [8]. We do not know the existence of Miura’s Transform that takes a KdV system to the system we are considering. To overcome this difficulty we developed a new proof of the sharp global well-posedness result for the single mKdV equation without using Miura’s Transform. We could successfully apply this technique in the case of the mKdV system to obtain the desired result.  相似文献

In this article, we focus on investigating the Kundu-type equation with zero boundary condition at infinity. Based on the analytical and symmetric properties of eigenfunctions and spectral matrix of its Lax pair, a Riemann-Hilbert problem for the initial value problem of the Kundu-type equation is constructed. Further through solving the regular and nonregular Riemann-Hilbert problem, a kind of general N-soliton solution of the Kundu-type equation are presented. As special cases of this result, the N-soliton solution of the Kaup-Newell equation, Chen-Lee-Liu equation, and Gerjikov-Ivanov equation can be obtained respectively by choosing different parameters.  相似文献

In this article, we first propose the Riemann-Hilbert problem for uniformly elliptic complex equations of first order and its well-posed-ness in multiply connected domains.Then we give the integral representation of solutions for modified Riemann-Hilbert problem of the complex equations. Moreover we shall obtain a priori estimates of solutions of the modified Riemann-Hilbert problem and verify its solvability. In this article, we first transform the general uniformly elliptic systems of first order equations with certain conditions into the complex equations, and propose the discontinuous Riemann- Hilbert problem and its modified well-posedness for the complex equations. Then we give a priori estimates of solutions of the modified discontinuous Riemann-Hilbert problem for the complex equations and verify its solvability. In this paper, we consider a periodic problem for the n-dimensional complex Landau--Ginzburg equation. It is shown that in the case of small initial data there exists a unique classical solution of this problem, and an asymptotics of this solution uniform in the space variable is given. 在本文中,一类新的矩阵型修正Korteweg-de Vries(简记为mmKdV)方程被首次通过RiemannHilbert方法研究,而且,这一方程可通过选取特殊的势矩阵来降阶为我们熟知的耦合型修正Kortewegde Vries方程.从方程对应的Lax对的谱分析入手,作者成功地建立了方程对应的Riemann-Hilbert问题.在无反射势的特殊条件下,mmKdV方程的精确解可由Riemann-Hilbert问题的解给出.而且,基于特殊势矩阵所对应的特殊对称性,作者可以对原有的孤子解进行分类,从而得到一些有趣的解的现象,比如呼吸孤子、钟形孤子等.  相似文献
