We study the bifurcation and dynamical behaviour of the system of N globally coupled identical phase oscillators introduced by Hansel, Mato and Meunier, in the cases N=3 and N=4. This model has been found to exhibit robust ‘slow switching’ oscillations that are caused by the presence of robust heteroclinic attractors. This paper presents a bifurcation analysis of the system in an attempt to better understand the creation of such attractors. We consider bifurcations that occur in a system of identical oscillators on varying the parameters in the coupling function. These bifurcations preserve the permutation symmetry of the system. We then investigate the implications of these bifurcations for the sensitivity to detuning (i.e. the size of the smallest perturbations that give rise to loss of frequency locking).For N=3 we find three types of heteroclinic bifurcation that are codimension-one with symmetry. On varying two parameters in the coupling function we find three curves giving (a) an S3-transcritical homoclinic bifurcation, (b) a saddle-node/heteroclinic bifurcation and (c) a Z3-heteroclinic bifurcation. We also identify several global bifurcations with symmetry that organize the bifurcation diagram; these are codimension-two with symmetry.For N=4 oscillators we determine many (but not all) codimension-one bifurcations with symmetry, including those that lead to a robust heteroclinic cycle. A robust heteroclinic cycle is stable in an open region of parameter space and unstable in another open region. Furthermore, we verify that there is a subregion where the heteroclinic cycle is the only attractor of the system, while for other parts of the phase plane it can coexist with stable limit cycles. We finish with a discussion of bifurcations that appear for this coupling function and general N, as well as for more general coupling functions.  相似文献

This paper presents the nonlinear dynamics and bifurcations of optically injected semiconductor lasers in the frame of relative high injection strength. The behavior of the system is explored by means of bifurcation diagrams; however, the exact nature of the involved dynamics is well described by a detailed study of the dynamics evolutions as a function of the effective gain coefficient. As results, we notice the different types of symmetry chaotic attractors with the riddled basins, supercritical pitchfork and Hopf bifurcations, crisis of attractors, instability of chaos, symmetry breaking and restoring bifurcations, and the phenomena of the bursting behavior as well as two connected parts of the same chaotic attractor which merge in a periodic orbit.  相似文献

A simple three-dimensional time-reversible system of ODEs with quadratic nonlinearities is considered in a recent paper by Sprott (2014). The author finds in this system, that has no equilibria, the coexistence of a strange attractor and invariant tori. The goal of this letter is to justify theoretically the existence of infinite invariant tori and chaotic attractors. For this purpose we embed the original system in a one-parameter family of reversible systems. This allows to demonstrate the presence of a Hopf-zero bifurcation that implies the birth of an elliptic periodic orbit. Thus, the application of the KAM theory guarantees the existence of an extremely complex dynamics with periodic, quasiperiodic and chaotic motions. Our theoretical study is complemented with some numerical results. Several bifurcation diagrams make clear the rich dynamics organized around a so-called noose bifurcation where, among other scenarios, cascades of period-doubling bifurcations also originate chaotic attractors. Moreover, a cross section and other numerical simulations are also presented to illustrate the KAM dynamics exhibited by this system.  相似文献

以周期激励下受控Lorenz模型为例, 考察了多平衡态共存下激励频率与系统固有频率之间存在量级差距也即存在频域上的不同尺度时的耦合效应. 由于激励频率远小于系统的固有频率, 因此将整个激励项视为慢变参数, 分析随慢变参数变化下的各种分岔模式及其相应的分岔行为, 指出在一定条件下, 不同平衡点会产生Hopf分岔和fold分岔. 根据分岔条件的不同, 给出了两种典型情况下的簇发振荡, 并通过引入转换相图, 揭示了不同簇发的产生机理, 指出多平衡态和多种分岔共存不仅会导致沉寂态和激发态的多样性, 而且会使得不同沉寂态和激发态之间存在着不同的转换形式.  相似文献

A new chaotic attractor is presented with only five terms in three simple differential equations having fewer terms and simpler than those of existing seven-term or six-term chaotic attractors. Basic dynamical properties of the new attractor are demonstrated in terms of equilibria, Jacobian matrices, non-generalized Lorenz systems, Lyapunov exponents, a dissipative system, a chaotic waveform in time domain, a continuous frequency spectrum, Poincaré maps, bifurcations and forming mechanisms of its compound structures.  相似文献

We discuss strange nonchaotic attractors (SNAs) in addition to chaotic and regular attractors in a quasiperiodically driven system with time delays. A route and the associated mechanism are described for a special type of attractor called strange-nonchaotic-attractor-like (SNA-like) through T2 torus bifurcation. The type of attractor can be observed in large parameter domains and it is easily mistaken for a true SNA judging merely from the phase portrait, power spectrum and the largest Lyapunov exponent. SNA-like attractor is not strange and has no phase sensitivity. Conditions for Neimark-Sacker bifurcation are obtained by theoretical analysis for the unforced system. Complicated and interesting dynamical transitions are investigated among the different tongues.  相似文献

We consider iterated maps with a reflectional symmetry. Possible bifurcations in such systems include period-doubling bifurcations (within the symmetric subspace) and symmetry-breaking bifurcations. By using a second parameter, these bifurcations can be made to coincide at a mode interaction. By reformulating the period-doubling bifurcation as a symmetry-breaking bifurcation, two bifurcation equations with Z2×Z2 symmetry are derived. A local analysis of solutions is then considered, including the derivation of conditions for a tertiary Hopf bifurcation. Applications to symmetrically coupled maps and to two coupled, vertically forced pendulums are described.  相似文献

In this paper we study periodic orbit bifurcation sequences in a system of two coupled Morse oscillators. Time-reversal symmetry is exploited to determine periodic orbits by iteration of symmetry lines. The permutational representation of Tsuchiya and Jaffe is employed to analyze periodic orbit configurations on the symmetry lines. Local pruning rules are formulated, and a global analysis of possible bifurcation sequences of symmetric periodic orbits is made. Analysis of periodic orbit bifurcations on symmetry lines determines bifurcation sequences, together with periodic orbit periodicities and stabilities. The correlation between certain bifurcations is explained. The passage from an integrable limit to nointegrability is marked by the appearance of tangent bifurcations; our global analysis reveals the origin of these ubiquitous tangencies. For period-1 orbits, tangencies appear by a simple disconnection mechanism. For higher period orbits, a different mechanism involving 2-parameter collisions of bifurcations is found. 许多非线性动力系统都有某种对称性,在不同情形下可有不同的表现形式,但始终保持其对称的特点.不同对称形式间的转变导致对称破缺分岔或激变.关于非线性动力系统中相空间运动轨道的对称破缺分岔,已有大量研究工作,但绝大多数是指周期或拟周期相轨的对称破缺,偶尔提到对称系统中的混沌相轨也存在“对偶性”.最近,在简谐外激Duffing系统周期轨道对称破缺引发鞍-结分岔的研究中,得到了分岔后由Poincaré映射点间断流构成的图像,其中包括两个稳定周期结点、一个周期鞍点,及其稳定流形与不稳定流形,均较规则.本工作研究了正弦 关键词: 对称破缺 混沌 激变 分形吸引域  相似文献

分析了一个三维自治混沌系统的Hopf分岔现象,该系统的混沌吸引子属于共轭Chen混沌系统.通过引入一个控制器,基于该混沌系统构建了一个四维自治超混沌系统.该超混沌系统含有一个单参数,在一定的参数范围内呈现超混沌现象.通过Lyapunov指数和分岔分析,随着参数的变化该系统轨道呈现周期轨道、准周期轨道、混沌和超混沌的演化过程. 关键词: 混沌 超混沌生成 Hopf分岔 分岔分析  相似文献

The object of this paper is to reveal the relation between dynamics of the fractional system and its dimension defined as a sum of the orders of all involved derivatives. We take the fractional Lorenz system as example and regard one or three of its orders as bifurcation parameters. In this framework, we compute the corresponding bifurcation diagrams via an optimal Poincaré section technique developed by us and find there exist two routes to chaos when its dimension increases from some values to 3. One is the process of cascaded period-doubling bifurcations and the other is a crisis (boundary crisis) which occurs in the evolution of chaotic transient behavior. We would like to point out that our investigation is the first to find out that a fractional differential equations (FDEs) system can evolve into chaos by the crisis. Furthermore, we observe rich dynamical phenomena in these processes, such as two-stage cascaded period-doubling bifurcations, chaotic transients, and the transition from coexistence of three attractors to mono-existence of a chaotic attractor. These are new and interesting findings for FDEs systems which, to our knowledge, have not been described before.  相似文献

由一个正弦映射和一个三次方映射通过非线性耦合,构成一个新的二维正弦离散映射. 基于此二维正弦离散映射得到系统的不动点以及相应的特征值,分析了系统的稳定性,研究了系统的复杂非线性动力学行为及其吸引子的演变过程. 研究结果表明:此二维正弦离散映射中存在复杂的对称性破缺分岔、Hopf分岔、倍周期分岔和周期振荡快慢效应等非线性物理现象. 进一步根据控制变量变化时系统的分岔图、Lyapunov指数图和相轨迹图分析了系统的分岔模式共存、快慢周期振荡及其吸引子的演变过程,通过数值仿真验证了理论分析的正确性. 关键词: 正弦离散映射 对称性破缺分岔 Hopf分岔 吸引子  相似文献

We consider examples of loss of stability of chaotic attractors in invariant subspaces (blowouts) that occur on varying two parameters, i.e. codimension-two blowout bifurcations. Such bifurcations act as organising centres for nearby codimension-one behaviour, analogous to the case for codimension-two bifurcations of equilibria. We consider examples of blowout bifurcations showing change of criticality, blowouts that occur into two different invariant subspaces and interact, blowouts that occur with onset of hyperchaos, interaction of blowout and symmetry increasing bifurcations and collision of blowout bifurcations. As in the case of bifurcation of equilibria, there are many cases in which one can infer the presence and form of secondary bifurcations and associated branches of attractors. There is presently no generic theory of such higher codimension blowouts (there is not even such a theory for codimension-one blowouts). We want to present a number of examples that would need to be covered by such a theory.  相似文献

The paper provides symmetric fixed configurations of point vortices in multiply connected domains in the unit circle with many circular obstacles. When the circular domain is invariant with respect to rotation around the origin by a degree of 2π/M, a regular M-polygonal ring configuration of identical point vortices becomes a fixed equilibrium. On the other hand, when we assume a special symmetry, called the folding symmetry, on the circular domain, we find a fixed equilibrium in which M point vortices with the positive unit strength and M point vortices with the negative unit strength are arranged alternately at the vertices of a 2M-polygon. We also investigate the stability of these fixed equilibria and their bifurcation for a special circular domain with the rotational symmetry as well as the folding symmetry. Furthermore, we discuss fixed equilibria in non-circular multiply connected domains with the same symmetries. We give sufficient conditions for the conformal mappings, by which fixed equilibria in the circular domains are mapped to those in the general multiply connected domains. Some examples of such conformal mappings are also provided.  相似文献

We report some new results associated with the synchronization behavior of two coupled double-well Duffing oscillators (DDOs). Some sufficient algebraic criteria for global chaos synchronization of the drive and response DDOs via linear state error feedback control are obtained by means of Lyapunov stability theory. The synchronization is achieved through a bistable state in which a periodic attractor co-exists with a chaotic attractor. Using the linear perturbation analysis, the prevalence of attractors in parameter space and the associated bifurcations are examined. Subcritical and supercritical Hopf bifurcations and abundance of Arnold tongues -- a signature of mode locking phenomenon are found.  相似文献

I study a pair of synchronized nonlinear circuits which may be periodic or chaotic. The circuits are synchronized by a one-way driving signal from the drive circuit to the response circuit. Because the nonlinearities are symmetric about zero, the drive circuit has two periodic attractors. When the value of a bifurcation parameter is above a certain threshold, the response circuit also has two periodic attractors, one in-sync with the drive and one out-of-sync. Below the threshold, the drive circuit still has two attractors but the response circuit has only one attractor, the in-sync attractor. If the response circuit is started in the basin of attraction of the former out-of-sync attractor, a long periodic transient (many cycles long) is seen.  相似文献

Blowout bifurcation in nonlinear systems occurs when a chaotic attractor lying in some symmetric subspace becomes transversely unstable. A class of five-dimensional continuous autonomous systems is considered, in which a two-dimensional subsystem is driven by a family of generalized Lorenz systems. The systems have some common dynamical characters. As the coupling parameter changes, blowout bifurcations occur in these systems and brings on change of the systems' dynamics. After the bifurcation the phenomenon of on-off intermittency appears. It is observed that the systems undergo a symmetric hyperchaos-chaos-hyperchaos transition via or after blowout bifurcations. An example of the systems is given, in which the drive system is the Chen system. We investigate the dynamical behaviour before and after the blowout bifurcation in the systems and make an analysis of the transition process. It is shown that in such coupled chaotic continuous systems, blowout bifurcation leads to a transition from chaos to hyperchaos for the whole systems, which provides a route to hyperchaos.  相似文献

Based on the Lü system, a new chaotic system is constructed, which can generate a Lorenz-like attractor, Chen-like attractor, Lü-like attractor and new attractor when its parameters are chosen appropriately. The detailed dynamical behaviours of this system are also investigated, including equilibria and stability, bifurcations, and Lyapunov exponent spectrum. Moreover, a novel analogue circuit diagram is designed for the verification of various attractors.  相似文献
