为了了解微重力条件下新型分离结晶生长过程中熔体热毛细对流的基本特征,利用有限差分法进行了数值模拟,熔体深径比A取1和2,自由界面无因次宽度B分别取0.05、0.075和0.1.当熔体上表面为自由表面时,得到了分离结晶Bridgman生长过程中熔体热毛细对流的流函数和温度分布.计算结果表明:当Ma数较小时,在上下两个自由表面的表面张力的驱动下,熔体内部产生了两个流动方向相反的流胞,流动为稳态流动,随着Ma数的增加,上下自由表面速度增大,温度分布的非线性增加;当Ma数超过某一临界值后,流动将转化为非稳态流动;与熔体上表面为固壁时相比,A=1时的临界Ma数减小,而A=2时的临界Ma数增大;流动失稳的物理机制是流速的变化和阻力的变化之间存在滞后.  相似文献

We show that in the onset of convection in a thin fluid layer with a free surface, the passage from surface tension driven to buoyancy driven convection with changing thickness of the fluid layer follows a universal curve and can be calculated very accurately using a variational method. We have shown that the balance between surface tension traction to buoyancy force determines the crossover length scale of the fluid which is independent of viscosity or thermal diffusivity. We suggest a scenario near critical point of fluids in which this crossover can be observed.  相似文献

为了探究Soret效应对具有自由表面的圆柱形浅液池内双组分溶液热对流过程的影响, 通过实验观察了质量分数为50%的正癸烷/正己烷混合溶液在不同深宽比的液池内流动失稳后的自由表面耗散结构及液池内的温度波动. 结果表明, 双组分溶液流动失稳的临界热毛细Reynolds数小于纯工质的值, 且其随液层深宽比的变化规律与纯工质相同. 当深宽比小于0.0848时, 流动失稳后在自由表面观察到热流体波, 监测点处温度波动主频随热毛细Reynolds数增大而增加; 当深宽比大于0.0848时, 随热毛细Reynolds数的增大, 流动失稳后自由表面依次呈现轮辐状、花苞状、分离-合并-分离交替变化的条纹状结构.  相似文献

We describe experiments on Benard-Marangoni convection in horizontal layers of two immiscible liquids. Unlike previous experiments, which used gases as the upper fluid, we find a square planform close to onset which undergoes a secondary bifurcation to rolls at higher temperature differences. The scale of the convection pattern is that of the thinner lower fluid layer for which buoyancy and surface tension forces are comparable. The wave number of the pattern near onset agrees with the linear stability prediction for the full two-layer problem. The square planform is in qualitative agreement with recent two-layer weakly nonlinear theories, which fail however to predict the transition to rolls.  相似文献

为了了解水平温度梯度作用下旋转环形浅液池内耦合热-溶质毛细对流基本特征, 采用匹配渐近展开法对旋转环形浅液池内耦合热-溶质毛细对流过程进行了求解, 获得了中心区域的速度、温度和浓度分布,分析了旋转、Soret效应、浮力、溶质扩散 系数和液池的几何尺寸对流动结构的影响.将所得到的渐近解和文献中的已有结果进行对比,证明了所求结果的正确性;在浅液池内,耦合热-溶质毛细力对流体流动起主导作用, 旋转和浮力对流动的影响较小,溶质扩散系数和几何尺寸有较明显影响;当各种耦合的 驱动力作用方向相同时,流动增强;否则, 流动减弱. 关键词: 旋转 环形浅液池 耦合热-溶质毛细对流 渐近解  相似文献

紧致方法对流动换热及静态分岔的模拟   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
发展了基于投影法的紧致方法求解流动换热问题,对顶盖驱动流和侧壁加热的方腔内自然对流换热问题进行了数值模拟。与其它传统方法相比,紧致方法能在较少的网格结点下获得精度较高的计算结果。进一步,采用所发展的紧致方法对不同工况下的Rayleigh-Benard对流及其静态分岔现象进行了数值模拟。数值计算结果表明当长宽比变大时,底部努塞尔数会有小幅度增加。当长宽比为8时,用所发展的紧致方法不同的初场可以得出三种不同的流场和温度场。与基于QUICK格式的SIMPLE算法相比,所发展的紧致方法可以多预测一种静态分岔现象。  相似文献

The onset and stability of solutal (buoyancy and Marangoni) convection induced by a localized source of surface-active substance placed under an interface were studied both experimentally and theoretically. It was shown that the competition between the buoyancy and solutocapillary convection can lead to the onset of oscillatory convection. The period of the observed oscillations appreciably depends on the relation of Grashof and Marangoni numbers and on the aspect ratio of the geometrical sizes of the problem. It was found out that an increase of the buoyancy contribution leads to the onset of stationary convection instead of oscillatory one.  相似文献

Space-averaged surface temperature distributions and overall Nusselt number measurements have been carried out to study the transient mixed convection heat transfer in a channel with two facing and symmetrically heated semicircular cavities. Effects of buoyancy, channel orientation, and channel aspect ratio on thermal behavior have been investigated from Re 500 to 1,500. Depending on the parametric set, steady, oscillatory, and irregular thermal regimes have been identified. The natural frequencies and time scales of the oscillatory regimes have been obtained using spectral analysis. Results show that with increase in channel aspect ratio, the heat transfer performance reduces for all inclination angles.  相似文献

One-degree of freedom conservative slowly varying Hamiltonian systems are analyzed in the case in which a saddle-center pair undergo a transcritical bifurcation. We analyze the case in which the method of averaging predicts the solution crosses the unperturbed homoclinic orbit at the precise time at which the transcritical bifurcation occurs. For the slow passage through the nonhyperbolic homoclinic orbit associated with a transcritical bifurcation, the solution consists of a large sequence of nonhyperbolic homoclinic orbits surrounded by autonomous nonlinear saddle approaches. The change in action is computed by matching these solutions to those obtained by averaging, valid before and after crossing the nonhyperbolic homoclinic orbit. For initial conditions near the stable manifold of the nonhyperbolic saddle point, one saddle approach has particularly small energy and instead satisfies a nonautonomous nonlinear equation, which provides a transition between nonhyperbolic homoclinic orbits, centers, and saddles. Multiple steady solutions and hysteresis phenomenon in the square cavity flows driven by the surface with antisymmetric velocity profile are investigated by numerical simulation and bifurcation analysis.A high order spectral element method with the matrix-free pseudo-arclength technique is used for the steady-state solution and numerical continuation.The complex flow patterns beyond the symmetry-breaking at Re■320 are presented by a bifurcation diagram for Re 2500.The results of stable symmetric and asymmetric solutions are consistent with those reported in literature,and a new unstable asymmetric branch is obtained besides the stable branches.A novel hysteresis phenomenon is observed in the range of2208 Re 2262,where two pairs of stable and two pairs of unstable asymmetric steady solutions beyond the stable symmetric state coexist.The vortices near the sidewall appear when the Reynolds number increases,which correspond to the bifurcation of topology structure,but not the bifurcation of Navier-Stokes equations.The hysteresis is proposed to be the result of the combined mechanisms of the competition and coalescence of secondary vortices.  相似文献

以建筑物内人工环境控制为应用背景,对有对称空气射流的方形空间内混合对流换热进行了数值模拟,探讨了这种具有对称结构的混合对流换热解的分岔问题。数值结果表明,Reynolds数、强制通风气流的射流角度、以及方形空间的宽高比都会影响解的分岔。当Re数超过某一临界值时,会出现非对称数值解。宽高比减小,出现非对称解的临界Re数也随之减小。Re数、宽高比一定,仅当通风气流的射流角度在某个范围内时,能够得到非对称的数值解。  相似文献

针对矩形槽内导电流体普朗特数分别为 0.01、1、100 时,进行了流动形态和换热的数值模拟研究.数值结果表明:普朗特数对流动、温度分布影响不同,从而影响到对流换热的强弱,低普朗特数流体热浮升力作用大,流动以热驱动为主,换热强度弱,发现在低普朗特数下,数值模拟得出的努赛尔数并不能收敛到某一定值,而是在一个区间范围内"来回振荡";高普朗特数流体,电磁力作用大,流动以电磁力驱动对流作用,换热随着哈特曼数的增加而得到很大提高.  相似文献

In this paper, the dynamics of cantilevered flexible plates subjected to axial flow is investigated theoretically and experimentally. A nonlinear equation of motion of the plate based on the inextensibility assumption, coupled with an unsteady lumped vortex model for the aerodynamic part is used to analyze the instability and post-critical dynamical behaviour of this fluid–structure system theoretically. Experiments have been conducted in a 3 ft×2 ft (914 mm×610 mm) cross-section wind tunnel, using polypropylene carbonate (PPC) films, thin brass plates, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) sheets, and type 304 stainless steel sheets, with maximum dimensions 224 mm×168 mm. In the experiments, time traces, power spectral densities (PSDs), phase-plane plots, Poincaré maps, probability density functions (PDFs) and autocorrelations are used to characterize the motions of the system.Periodic and chaotic oscillations have been observed in the experiments. It has also been observed that flutter arises via a subcritical bifurcation involving hysteresis for large aspect ratio plates; this hysteresis does not occur for low aspect ratio plates. The hysteresis phenomenon is considered to be due to spanwise deformation of the plates. The effect of aspect ratio on critical flow velocity is investigated. The experimental critical flow velocities for flutter onset are in good agreement with the theoretically predicted values.  相似文献

研究各向异性表面张力对定向凝固中共晶生长形态稳定性的影响.应用多重变量展开法导出了共晶界面表达式和扰动振幅的变化率满足的色散关系.结果表明,共晶生长系统有两种整体不稳定性机理:由非震荡导致的"交换稳定性"机理和由震荡导致的"整体波动不稳定性"机理.震荡有四种典型模式,即:反对称-反对称(AA-),对称-反对称(SA-)、反对称-对称(AS-)和对称-对称(SS-)模式.稳定性分析表明:共晶界面形态稳定性取决于Peclet数ε的某一个临界值ε_*,当ε大于临界值ε_*时,共晶界面形态不稳定;当ε小于临界值ε_*时,共晶界面形态稳定.随着各向异性表面张力增大,对应于AA-,SA-和SS-模式的临界值ε_(aa*),ε_(sa*)和ε_(ss*)随之减小,表明各向异性表面张力减小这三种模式的稳定性区域;然而,随着各向异性表面张力增大,对应于AS-模式的临界值ε_(as*)随之增大,表明各向异性表面张力增大AS-模式的稳定性区域.  相似文献

A study of dynamic regimes in Bénard-Marangoni convection was carried out for various Prandtl and Marangoni numbers in small aspect ratio geometries (Γ = 2.2 and 2.8). Experiments in a small hexagonal vessel, for a large range of the Marangoni number (from 148 to 3636), were carried out. Fourier spectra and an auto-correlation function were used to recognize the various dynamic regimes. For given values of the Prandtl number (Pr = 440) and aspect ratio (Γ = 2.2), mono-periodic, bi-periodic and chaotic states were successively observed as the Marangoni number was increased. The correlation dimensions of strange attractors corresponding to the chaotic regimes were calculated. The dimensions were found to be larger than those obtained by other authors for Rayleigh-Bénard convection in aspect ratio geometries of the same order. The transition from temporal chaos to spatio-temporal chaos was also observed. For Γ = 2.2, when larger values of the Marangoni number were imposed (Ma = 1581 for Pr = 160 and Ma = 740 for Pr = 440), spatial modes were involved through the convective pattern dynamics.  相似文献

In turbulent thermal convection in cylindrical samples with an aspect ratio Γ≡D/L (D is the diameter and L the height), the Nusselt number Nu is enhanced when the sample is rotated about its vertical axis because of the formation of Ekman vortices that extract additional fluid out of thermal boundary layers at the top and bottom. We show from experiments and direct numerical simulations that the enhancement occurs only above a bifurcation point at a critical inverse Rossby number 1/Ro(c), with 1/Ro(c)∝1/Γ. We present a Ginzburg-Landau-like model that explains the existence of a bifurcation at finite 1/Ro(c) as a finite-size effect. The model yields the proportionality between 1/Ro(c) and 1/Γ and is consistent with several other measured or computed system properties.  相似文献

In this paper we analyse convective solutions of a two dimensional fluid layer in which viscosity depends exponentially on temperature. This problem takes in features of mantle convection, since large viscosity variations are to be expected in the Earth’s interior. These solutions are compared with solutions obtained at constant viscosity. Special attention is paid to the influence of the aspect ratio in the solutions presented. The analysis is assisted by bifurcation techniques such as branch continuation, which has proven to be a useful, systematic method for gaining insight into the possible stationary solutions satisfied by the basic equations. One feature presented by the fluid with non constant viscosity is the presence of pitchfork and saddle-node subcritical bifurcations and the presence of convective solutions below the linear critical threshold. The analysis also provides limits of existence of stationary solutions and draws the boundaries for time dependent convection.  相似文献

The effect of buoyancy-driven convection on the steady state dendritic growth in an undercooled binary alloy is studied. For the case of the moderate modified Grashof number, the uniformly valid asymptotic solution in the entire region of space is obtained by means of the matched asymptotic expansion method. The analytical results show that the buoyancy- driven convection has a significant effect on the needle-like interface of dendritic growth. Due to the buoyancy-driven convection, the needle-like interface shape of the crystal is changed. When the Peclet number that is not affected by the buoyant flow is less than a certain critical value, the interface shape of the dendrite becomes thinner as the Grashof number increases; when it is larger than the critical value, the interface shape becomes fatter as the Grashof number increases. In the undercooled binary alloy the morphology number plays an active role in the interface shape and leads to the buoyancy effect that is different from the situation for the pure melt. The smaller the morphology number is, the more significant change the interface shape has. As the Peclet number further increases, the effect of buoyancy on the interface diminishes eventually.  相似文献
