A solution of an initial-boundary-value problem for a system of integrodifferential equations which describes the plane waves excited in an initially stationary heavy two-layer ideal fluid by a cylinder moving at an angle to the horizontal is investigated. The homogeneous fluid fractions of different densities are assumed to be separated by an evolving fluid interface (horizontal plane, if the liquid is at rest). The vertical impact of a rigid elliptical cylinder on a compressible liquid surface is considered in a plane asymmetric formulation. A method is presented for determining the dependence of the probability of heterogeneous recombination γw from results of measurements of the heat flux Qw to the surface of a catalytic sensor exposed to a pulsed supersonic flow of gas dissociated by an incident shock wave propagating in a shock tube. It is shown that the accuracy of the determination of γw depends not only on the accuracy of the measurements in the experiment, but also on the results of mathematical modeling of the flow of the dissociated gas over the surface of the body. The problem of determination of the hydrodynamic characteristics of an ideal incompressible liquid moving with constant velocity past a spherical body in an infinite circular cylinder is considered. It is assumed that the cylinder axis passes through the mass center of the spherical body. The total liquid potential has been constructed both in spherical and cylindrical coordinate systems. A method of solving the initial boundary-value problem of the horizontal motion of a circular cylinder under the interface between two liquids is developed within the framework of nonlinear theory and implemented numerically. The steady rise of a vapor bubble in a liquid moving in a vertical tube is modeled by means of the Navier-Stokes equations. The shape of the vapor bubble (drop) and the structure of the flow are determined by numerically solving the equations inside and outside the drop. The calculations are made on the interval of intermediate values of the dimensionless parameters and describe the transition to piston-type motion. Using an original technique, heat and mass transfer in the interaction between a high-temperature heterogeneous jet with a high concentration of particles and the surface of structural materials was studied for the first time. The characteristics of heat and mass transfer were obtained under conditions of intense destruction of the materials under the action of a heterogeneous jet whose axis is perpendicular to the heating surface. Based on the results of experimental studies, some signs of high-temperature fracture of steel and cement grout under the action of a heterogeneous jet were revealed. Deceased. Investigations of internal wave generation by moving perturbations are of considerable interest for submarine navigation, hydroacoustics, ocean seismology, etc. The main results for perturbations of constant intensity were published in [1–3]. In the present paper we continue the investigations and study moving perturbations whose intensity varies periodically in time. The perturbations are approximated by surface shape variations or an external pressure on the surface. The vertical displacement of the water particles relative to the equilibrium position is obtained in the form of a series in terms of waves modes for a given density stratification. A calculation algorithm and a program for computing each of the wave modes have been compiled. The boundaries of the wave regions and constant-phase lines are constructed and the displacement amplitudes are calculated. It is shown that there are resonance relations between the oscillation frequency and the perturbation velocity for which the displacement for a given mode becomes infinite (in the linear theory). A thin film flow of a viscous liquid flowing down a vertical wall in the field of the gravity force is studied. The values of temperatures on the solid wall and on the free surface are constant. The viscosity and thermal diffusivity are functions of temperature. The dispersion characteristics of gyroscopic waves in an incompressible liquid layer in a cavity of a rapidly rotating cylinder are studied. It is shown that in a viscous incompressible liquid layer, an inertial wave can be represented as the sum of six helical harmonics. The mixed convection flow over a continuous moving vertical slender cylinder under the combined buoyancy effect of thermal and mass diffusion has been studied. Both uniform wall temperature (concentration) and uniform heat (mass) flux cases are included in the analysis. The problem is formulated in such a manner that when the ratio λ(= u w/(u w + u ), where u w and u are the wall and free stream velocities, is zero, the problem reduces to the flow over a stationary cylinder, and when λ = 1 it reduces to the flow over a moving cylinder in an ambient fluid. The partial differential equations governing the flow have been solved numerically using an implicit finite-difference scheme. We have also obtained the solution using a perturbation technique with Shanks transformation. This transformation has been used to increase the range of the validity of the solution. For some particular cases closed form solutions are obtained. The surface skin friction, heat transfer and mass transfer increase with the buoyancy forces. The buoyancy forces cause considerable overshoot in the velocity profiles. The Prandtl number and the Schmidt number strongly affect the surface heat transfer and the mass transfer, respectively. The surface skin friction decreases as the relative velocity between the surface and free stream decreases. Received on 17 May 1999  相似文献

The stability conditions for the steady-state motion of the tubular layer of a treated deformable material in a rotating horizontal cylinder are determined analytically. With allowance for the accepted similarity criteria, universal diagrams of the boundaries of transition of modes of motion of liquid and loose materials in the cylinder are obtained on the basis of experimental data. Analysis of the diagrams shows the identity of the stability conditions for a liquid layer and a loose medium, which can be regarded as a Newtonian liquid upon fast relative motions. It is shown also that the analytical stability conditions for the liquid layer correspond to the experimental data for large Reynolds numbers when the mode hysteresis occurs and do not correspond to these data for small Reynolds numbers when secondary circulating flows form. The paper deals with optimization of the Earth reentry trajectory by the magnitude of the total convective heat flux at the stagnation point of a blunted body. The equations of a thin (hypersonic) viscous shock layer taking into account the nonequilibrium nature of chemical reactions and multicomponent diffusion are used as the initial mathematical model for heat flux calculations. The physicochemical and thermophysical processes that jointly occur in intumescent heat- and fire-insulating coatings are studied numerically with the use of a model based on the hypothesis that the gaseous products of thermal expansion of an initial material are transparent. It is found that with the radiative mechanism of heat transfer in a layer of intumescent-coating coke taken into account, the temperature at the surface of a structure to be protected is almost equal to a temperature reached at this surface if a nonintumescent coating is used. The author examine the influence of Taylor–Helmholtz Hydrodynamic Instability on film boiling heat transfer from a vertical surface and its significance with regard to slow decrease in the heat transfer coefficient in the viscous region. An analytical factor for the heat transfer coefficient was derived. The good agreement of above equation and the behavior of heat transfer with the diameter of cylinder provides added confidence in the wave theory as main mechanism for heat transfer in the studied region.  相似文献
