We study the sets $\mathcal{T}_{v}=\{m \in\{1,2,\ldots\}: \mbox{there is a convex polygon in }\mathbb{R}^{2}\mbox{ that has }v\mbox{ vertices and can be tiled with $m$ congruent equilateral triangles}\}$ , v=3,4,5,6. $\mathcal{T}_{3}$ , $\mathcal{T}_{4}$ , and $\mathcal{T}_{6}$ can be quoted completely. The complement $\{1,2,\ldots\} \setminus\mathcal{T}_{5}$ of $\mathcal{T}_{5}$ turns out to be a subset of Euler’s numeri idonei. As a consequence, $\{1,2,\ldots\} \setminus\mathcal{T}_{5}$ can be characterized with up to two exceptions, and a complete characterization is given under the assumption of the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis.  相似文献

We consider the randomly weighted sums $ \sum\nolimits_{k = 1}^n {{\theta_k}{X_k},n \geqslant 1} $ , where $ \left\{ {{X_k},1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} \right\} $ are n real-valued random variables with subexponential distributions, and $ \left\{ {{\theta_k},1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} \right\} $ are other n random variables independent of $ \left\{ {{X_k},1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} \right\} $ and satisfying $ a \leqslant \theta \leqslant b $ for some $ 0 < a \leqslant b < \infty $ and all $ 1 \leqslant k \leqslant n $ . For $ \left\{ {{X_k},1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} \right\} $ satisfying some dependent structures, we prove that $$ {\text{P}}\left( {\mathop {{\max }}\limits_{1 \leqslant m \leqslant n} \sum\limits_{k = 1}^m {{\theta_k}{X_k} > x} } \right)\sim {\text{P}}\left( {\sum\limits_{k = 1}^m {{\theta_k}{X_k} > x} } \right)\sim {\text{P}}\left( {\mathop {{\max }}\limits_{1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} {\theta_k}{X_k} > x} \right)\sim \sum\limits_{k = 1}^m {{\text{P}}\left( {{\theta_k}{X_k} > x} \right)} $$ as x??????.  相似文献

Given n, N ≥ 1 we construct a set of points ${\lambda_1,{\ldots},\lambda_{N^n}\in{\mathbb D}^n}$ such that for each rational inner function f on ${{\mathbb D}^n}$ of degree less than N the Pick problem on ${{\mathbb D}^n}$ with data ${\lambda_1,{\ldots},\lambda_{N^n}}$ and ${f(\lambda_1),{\ldots},f(\lambda_{N^n})}$ has a unique solution. In particular, we construct a 1-dimensional inner variety V and show that the points ${\lambda_1,{\ldots},\lambda_{N^n}}$ may be chosen almost arbitrarily in ${V\cap{\mathbb D}^n}$ . Our results state that f is uniquely determined in the Schur class of ${{\mathbb D}^n}$ by its values on ${\lambda_1,{\ldots},\lambda_{N^n}}$ .  相似文献

We consider a closed semi-algebraic set ${X \subset \mathbb{R}^n}$ and a C 2 semi-algebraic function ${f : \mathbb{R}^n \rightarrow\mathbb{R}}$ such that ${f_{\vert X}}$ has a finite number of critical points. We relate the topology of X to the topology of the sets ${X \cap \{ f * \alpha \}}$ , where ${* \in \{\le,=,\ge \}}$ and ${\alpha \in \mathbb{R}}$ , and the indices of the critical points of ${f_{\vert X}}$ and ${-f_{\vert X}}$ . We also relate the topology of X to the topology of the links at infinity of the sets ${X \cap \{ f * \alpha\}}$ and the indices of these critical points. We give applications when ${X=\mathbb{R}^n}$ and when f is a generic linear function.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to bring a new light on the state-dependent Hamilton–Jacobi equation and its connection with the Hopf–Lax formula in the framework of a Carnot group $(\mathbf G ,\circ ).$ The equation we shall consider is of the form $$\begin{aligned} \left\{ \begin{array}{l@{\quad }l} u_{t}+ \Psi (X_{1}u, \ldots , X_{m}u)=0\qquad &{}(x,t)\in \mathbf G \times (0,\infty ) \\ {u}(x,0)=g(x)&{}x\in \mathbf G , \end{array} \right. \end{aligned}$$ where $X_{1},\ldots , X_{m}$ are a basis of the first layer of the Lie algebra of the group $\mathbf G ,$ and $\Psi : \mathbb{R }^{m} \rightarrow \mathbb{R }$ is a superlinear, convex function. The main result shows that the unique viscosity solution of the Hamilton–Jacobi equation can be given by the Hopf–Lax formula $$\begin{aligned} u(x,t) = \inf _{y\in \mathbf G }\left\{ t \Psi ^\mathbf{G }\left( \delta _{\frac{1}{t}}(y^{-1}\circ x)\right) + g(y) \right\} , \end{aligned}$$ where $\Psi ^\mathbf{G }:\mathbf G \rightarrow \mathbb{R }$ is the $\mathbf G $ -Legendre–Fenchel transform of $\Psi ,$ defined by a control theoretical approach. We recover, as special cases, some known results like the classical Hopf–Lax formula in the Euclidean spaces $\mathbb{R }^n,$ showing that $\Psi ^{\mathbb{R }^n}$ is the Legendre–Fenchel transform $\Psi ^*$ of $\Psi ;$ moreover, we recover the result by Manfredi and Stroffolini in the Heisenberg group for particular Hamiltonian function $\Psi .$ In this paper we follow an optimal control problem approach and we obtain several properties for the value functions $u$ and $\Psi ^\mathbf G .$   相似文献

Let S be a subgroup of a group G. A set ${\Pi= \{H_1, \ldots , H_n\}}$ of subgroups ${H_i (i = 1, \ldots ,n)}$ with ${G=\cup_{H_i\in\Pi}H_i}$ is said to be an equal quasi-partition of G if ${H_i\cap H_j\cong S}$ and ${|H_i|=|H_j|}$ for all ${H_i, H_j\in\Pi}$ with ${i\ne j}$ . In this paper we investigate finite p-groups such that a subset of their maximal subgroups form an equal quasi-partition.  相似文献

We prove that for any base $b\ge 2$ and for any linear homogeneous recurrence sequence $\{a_n\}_{n\ge 1}$ satisfying certain conditions, there exits a positive constant $c>0$ such that $\# \{n\le x:\ a_n \;\text{ is} \text{ palindromic} \text{ in} \text{ base}\; b\} \ll x^{1-c}$ .  相似文献

We introduce a natural family of random walks $S_n$ on $\mathbb{Z }$ that scale to fractional Brownian motion. The increments $X_n := S_n - S_{n-1} \in \{\pm 1\}$ have the property that given $\{ X_k : k < n \}$ , the conditional law of $X_n$ is that of $X_{n - k_n}$ , where $k_n$ is sampled independently from a fixed law $\mu $ on the positive integers. When $\mu $ has a roughly power law decay (precisely, when $\mu $ lies in the domain of attraction of an $\alpha $ -stable subordinator, for $0<\alpha <1/2$ ) the walks scale to fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $\alpha + 1/2$ . The walks are easy to simulate and their increments satisfy an FKG inequality. In a sense we describe, they are the natural “fractional” analogues of simple random walk on $\mathbb{Z }$ .  相似文献

Let $d$ be a given positive integer and let $\{R_j\}_{j=1}^d$ denote the collection of Riesz transforms on $\mathbb {R}^d$ . For $1<p<\infty $ , we determine the best constant $C_p$ such that the following holds. For any locally integrable function $f$ on $\mathbb {R}^d$ and any $j\in \{1,\,2,\,\ldots ,\,d\}$ , $$\begin{aligned} ||(R_jf)_+||_{L^{p,\infty }(\mathbb {R}^d)}\le C_p||f||_{L^{p,\infty }(\mathbb {R}^d)}. \end{aligned}$$ A related statement for Riesz transforms on spheres is also established. The proofs exploit Gundy–Varopoulos representation of Riesz transforms and appropriate inequality for orthogonal martingales.  相似文献

We consider the problem $$\begin{aligned} -\Delta u=\varepsilon ^{2}e^{u}- \frac{1}{|\Omega |}\int _\Omega \varepsilon ^{2} e^{u}+ {4\pi N\over |\Omega |} - 4 \pi N\delta _p, \quad \text{ in} {\Omega }, \quad \int _\Omega u=0 \end{aligned}$$ in a flat two-torus $\Omega $ with periodic boundary conditions, where $\varepsilon >0,\,|\Omega |$ is the area of the $\Omega $ , $N>0$ and $\delta _p$ is a Dirac mass at $p\in \Omega $ . We prove that if $1\le m<N+1$ then there exists a family of solutions $\{u_\varepsilon \}_{\varepsilon }$ such that $\varepsilon ^{2}e^{u_\varepsilon }\rightharpoonup 8\pi \sum _{i=1}^m\delta _{q_i}$ as $\varepsilon \rightarrow 0$ in measure sense for some different points $q_{1}, \ldots , q_{m}$ . Furthermore, points $q_i$ , $i=1,\dots ,m$ are different from $p$ .  相似文献

Given any smooth toric surface $S$ , we prove a SYM-HILB correspondence which relates the 3-point, degree zero, extended Gromov–Witten invariants of the $n$ -fold symmetric product stack $[\mathrm{Sym}^n(S)]$ of $S$ to the 3-point extremal Gromov–Witten invariants of the Hilbert scheme $\mathrm{Hilb}^n(S)$ of $n$ points on $S$ . As we do not specialize the values of the quantum parameters involved, this result proves a strengthening of Ruan’s Cohomological Crepant Resolution Conjecture for the Hilbert–Chow morphism $\mathrm{Hilb}^n(S) \rightarrow \mathrm{Sym}^n(S)$ and yields a method of reconstructing the cup product for $\mathrm{Hilb}^n(S)$ from the orbifold invariants of $[\mathrm{Sym}^n(S)]$ .  相似文献

Let $\{a_i:i\in I\}$ be a finite set in $\mathbb R ^n$ . The illumination problem addressed in this work is about selecting an apex $z$ in a prescribed set $Z\subseteq \mathbb R ^n$ and a unit vector $y\in \mathbb R ^n$ so that the conic light beam $$\begin{aligned} C(z,y,s):= \{x \in \mathbb R ^n : s\,\Vert x-z\Vert - \langle y, x-z\rangle \le 0\} \end{aligned}$$ captures every $a_i$ and, at the same time, it has a sharpness coefficient $ s\in [0,1]$ as large as possible.  相似文献

It is shown that every measurable partition $\{A_1,\ldots , A_k\}$ { A 1 , … , A k } of $\mathbb R ^3$ R 3 satisfies 1 $$\begin{aligned} \sum _{i=1}^k\big \Vert \int _{A_i} x\mathrm{{e}}^{-\frac{1}{2}\Vert x\Vert _2^2}\mathrm{{d}}x\big \Vert _2^2\leqslant 9\pi ^2. \end{aligned}$$ ∑ i = 1 k ‖ ∫ A i x e - 1 2 ‖ x ‖ 2 2 d x ‖ 2 2 ? 9 π 2 . Let $\{P_1,P_2,P_3\}$ { P 1 , P 2 , P 3 } be the partition of $\mathbb R ^2$ R 2 into $120^{\circ }$ 120 ° sectors centered at the origin. The bound (1) is sharp, with equality holding if $A_i=P_i\times \mathbb R $ A i = P i × R for $i\in \{1,2,3\}$ i ∈ { 1 , 2 , 3 } and $A_i=\emptyset $ A i = ? for $i\in \{4,\ldots ,k\}$ i ∈ { 4 , … , k } . This settles positively the $3$ 3 -dimensional Propeller Conjecture of Khot and Naor [(Mathematika 55(1-2):129–165, 2009 (FOCS 2008)]. The proof of (1) reduces the problem to a finite set of numerical inequalities which are then verified with full rigor in a computer-assisted fashion. The main consequence (and motivation) of (1) is complexity-theoretic: the unique games hardness threshold of the kernel clustering problem with $4\times 4$ 4 × 4 centered and spherical hypothesis matrix equals $\frac{2\pi }{3}$ 2 π 3 .  相似文献

For $x\in [0,1)$ x ∈ [ 0 , 1 ) , let $x=[a_1(x), a_2(x),\ldots ]$ x = [ a 1 ( x ) , a 2 ( x ) , ... ] be its continued fraction expansion with partial quotients $\{a_n(x), n\ge 1\}$ { a n ( x ) , n ≥ 1 } . Let $\psi : \mathbb{N } \rightarrow \mathbb{N }$ ψ : N → N be a function with $\psi (n)/n\rightarrow \infty $ ψ ( n ) / n → ∞ as $n\rightarrow \infty $ n → ∞ . In this note, the fast Khintchine spectrum, i.e., the Hausdorff dimension of the set $$\begin{aligned} E(\psi ):=\left\{ x\in [0,1): \lim _{n\rightarrow \infty }\frac{1}{\psi (n)}\sum _{j=1}^n\log a_j(x)=1\right\} \end{aligned}$$ E ( ψ ) : = x ∈ [ 0 , 1 ) : lim n → ∞ 1 ψ ( n ) ∑ j = 1 n log a j ( x ) = 1 is completely determined without any extra condition on $\psi $ ψ . This fills a gap of the former work in Fan et al. (Ergod Theor Dyn Syst 29:73–109, 2009).  相似文献

We consider the groups ${\mathrm{Diff }}_\mathcal{B }(\mathbb{R }^n)$ , ${\mathrm{Diff }}_{H^\infty }(\mathbb{R }^n)$ , and ${\mathrm{Diff }}_{\mathcal{S }}(\mathbb{R }^n)$ of smooth diffeomorphisms on $\mathbb{R }^n$ which differ from the identity by a function which is in either $\mathcal{B }$ (bounded in all derivatives), $H^\infty = \bigcap _{k\ge 0}H^k$ , or $\mathcal{S }$ (rapidly decreasing). We show that all these groups are smooth regular Lie groups.  相似文献

Given a eigenvalue $\mu _{0m}^2$ of $-\Delta $ in the unit ball $B_1$ , with Neumann boundary conditions, we prove that there exists a class $\mathcal{D}$ of $C^{0,1}$ -domains, depending on $\mu _{0m} $ , such that if $u$ is a no trivial solution to the following problem $ \Delta u+\mu u=0$ in $\Omega , u=0$ on $\partial \Omega $ , and $ \int \nolimits _{\partial \Omega }\partial _{\mathbf{n}}u=0$ , with $\Omega \in \mathcal{D}$ , and $\mu =\mu _{0m}^2+o(1)$ , then $\Omega $ is a ball. Here $\mu $ is a eigenvalue of $-\Delta $ in $\Omega $ , with Neumann boundary conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, we describe a relationship between the simplest examples of arithmetic theta series. The first of these are the weight 1 theta series ${\widehat{\phi}_{\mathcal C}(\tau)}$ defined using arithmetic 0-cycles on the moduli space ${\mathcal C}$ of elliptic curves with CM by the ring of integers ${O_{\kappa}}$ of an imaginary quadratic field. The second such series ${\widehat{\phi}_{\mathcal M}(\tau)}$ has weight 3/2 and takes values in the arithmetic Chow group ${\widehat{{\rm CH}}^1(\mathcal{M})}$ of the arithmetic surface associated to an indefinite quaternion algebra ${B/\mathbb{Q}}$ . For an embedding ${O_\kappa \rightarrow O_B}$ , a maximal order in B, and a two sided O B -ideal Λ, there is a morphism ${j_\Lambda:{\mathcal C} \rightarrow {\mathcal M}}$ and a pullback ${j_\Lambda^*: \widehat{{\rm CH}}^1(\mathcal{M}) \rightarrow \widehat{{\rm CH}}^1(\mathcal C)}$ . Our main result is an expression for the pullback ${j^*_\Lambda \widehat{\phi}_{\mathcal M}(\tau)}$ as a linear combination of products of ${\widehat{\phi}_{\mathcal C}(\tau)}$ ’s and classical weight ${\frac{1}{2}}$ theta series.  相似文献

Let A be an expansive dilation on ${{\mathbb R}^n}$ and w a Muckenhoupt ${\mathcal A_\infty(A)}$ weight. In this paper, for all parameters ${\alpha\in{\mathbb R} }$ and ${p,q\in(0,\infty)}$ , the authors identify the dual spaces of weighted anisotropic Besov spaces ${\dot B^\alpha_{p,q}(A;w)}$ and Triebel?CLizorkin spaces ${\dot F^\alpha_{p,q}(A;w)}$ with some new weighted Besov-type and Triebel?CLizorkin-type spaces. The corresponding results on anisotropic Besov spaces ${\dot B^\alpha_{p,q}(A; \mu)}$ and Triebel?CLizorkin spaces ${\dot F^\alpha_{p,q}(A; \mu)}$ associated with ${\rho_A}$ -doubling measure??? are also established. All results are new even for the classical weighted Besov and Triebel?CLizorkin spaces in the isotropic setting. In particular, the authors also obtain the ${\varphi}$ -transform characterization of the dual spaces of the classical weighted Hardy spaces on ${{\mathbb R}^n}$ .  相似文献

Let $\mathrm{M }^n,\, n \in \{4,5,6\}$ , be a compact, simply connected $n$ -manifold which admits some Riemannian metric with non-negative curvature and an isometry group of maximal possible rank. Then any smooth, effective action on $\mathrm{M }^n$ by a torus $\mathrm{T }^{n-2}$ is equivariantly diffeomorphic to an isometric action on a normal biquotient. Furthermore, it follows that any effective, isometric circle action on a compact, simply connected, non-negatively curved four-dimensional manifold is equivariantly diffeomorphic to an effective, isometric action on a normal biquotient.  相似文献

We consider a discrete ultra-metric space $\left( X,d\right) $ with a measure m and construct in a natural way a symmetric Markov semigroup $ \left\{ P_{t}\right\} _{t\geq 0}$ in $L^{2}\left( X,m\right) $ and the corresponding Markov process $\left\{ \mathcal{X}_{t}\right\} $ . We prove upper and lower bounds of its transition function and its Green function, give a criterion for the transience, and estimate its moments.  相似文献
