Let K be an algebraic function field of one variable over a finite field of characteristic p, and S a finite non-empty set of prime divisors of K. As the ring of integers of K, we take the ring of elements of K integral outside S. We prove that for a finite abelian p-extension L/K, it has a relative normal integral basis (NIB) if and only if it is unramified outside S. We also give a generator of NIB in an explicit form.  相似文献

Artin’s conjecture states that supersingular K3 surfaces over finite fields have Picard number 22. In this paper, we prove Artin’s conjecture over fields of characteristic p≥5. This implies Tate’s conjecture for K3 surfaces over finite fields of characteristic p≥5. Our results also yield the Tate conjecture for divisors on certain holomorphic symplectic varieties over finite fields, with some restrictions on the characteristic. As a consequence, we prove the Tate conjecture for cycles of codimension 2 on cubic fourfolds over finite fields of characteristic p≥5.  相似文献

Let R be a complete discrete valuation ring of mixed characteristic (0,p) with perfect residue field, K the fraction field of R. Suppose G is a Barsotti-Tate group (p-divisible group) defined over K which acquires good reduction over a finite extension K of K. We prove that there exists a constant c?2 which depends on the absolute ramification index e(K/Qp) and the height of G such that G has good reduction over K if and only if G[pc] can be extended to a finite flat group scheme over R. For abelian varieties with potentially good reduction, this result generalizes Grothendieck's “p-adic Néron-Ogg-Shafarevich criterion” to finite level. We use methods that can be generalized to study semi-stable p-adic Galois representations with general Hodge-Tate weights, and in particular leads to a proof of a conjecture of Fontaine and gives a constant c as above that is independent of the height of G.  相似文献

We define complexes analogous to Goncharov's complexes for the K-theory of discrete valuation rings of characteristic zero. Under suitable assumptions in K-theory, there is a map from the cohomology of those complexes to the K-theory of the ring under consideration. In case the ring is a localization of the ring of integers in a number field, there are no assumptions necessary. We compute the composition of our map to the K-theory with the syntomic regulator. The result can be described in terms of a p-adic polylogarithm. Finally, we apply our theory in order to compute the regulator to syntomic cohomology on Beilinson's cyclotomic elements. The result is again given by the p-adic polylogarithm. This last result is related to one by Somekawa and generalizes work by Gros.  相似文献

Let K be a finitely generated field of transcendence degree 1 over a finite field. Let M be a t-motive over K of characteristic p0, which is semisimple up to isogeny. The isogeny conjecture for M says that there are only finitely many isomorphism classes of t-motives M over K, for which there exists a separable isogeny MM of degree not divisible by p0. For the t-motive associated to a Drinfeld module this was proved by Taguchi. In this article we prove it for the t-motive associated to any direct sum of Drinfeld modules of characteristic p0≠0.  相似文献

Let E/K be an elliptic curve defined over a number field, and let p be a prime number such that E(K) has full p-torsion. We show that the order of the p-part of the Shafarevich-Tate group of E/L is unbounded as L varies over degree p extensions of K. The proof uses O’Neil's period-index obstruction. We deduce the result from the fact that, under the same hypotheses, there exist infinitely many elements of the Weil-Châtelet group of E/K of period p and index p2.  相似文献

Let φ be a Drinfeld A-module in special characteristic p0 over a finitely generated field K. For any finite set P of primes pp0 of A let ΓP denote the image of Gal(Ksep/K) in its representation on the product of the p-adic Tate modules of φ for all pP. We determine ΓP up to commensurability.  相似文献

Suppose G is a semi-direct product of the form Z/pn?Z/m where p is prime and m is relatively prime to p. Suppose K is a complete discrete valuation field of characteristic p>0 with algebraically closed residue field. The main result states necessary and sufficient conditions on the ramification filtrations that occur for wildly ramified G-Galois extensions of K. In addition, we prove that there exists a parameter space for G-Galois extensions of K with given ramification filtration, and we calculate its dimension in terms of the ramification filtration. We provide explicit equations for wild cyclic extensions of K of degree p3.  相似文献

Let K be a field whose absolute Galois group is finitely generated. If K neither finite nor of characteristic 2, then every hyperelliptic curve over K with all of its Weierstrass points defined over K has infinitely many K-points. If, in addition, K is not an algebraic extension of a finite field, then every elliptic curve over K with all of its 2-torsion rational has infinite rank over K. These and similar results are deduced from the Hales-Jewett theorem.  相似文献

We show that for a d-dimensional scheme X essentially of finite type over an infinite perfect field k of characteristic p > 0, the negative K-groups K q (X) vanish for q < ?d provided that strong resolution of singularities holds over the field k.  相似文献

This paper is about varietiesV of universal algebras which satisfy the following numerical condition on the spectrum: there are only finitely many prime integersp such thatp is a divisor of the cardinality of some finite algebra inV. Such varieties are callednarrow. The variety (or equational class) generated by a classK of similar algebras is denoted by V(K)=HSPK. We define Pr (K) as the set of prime integers which divide the cardinality of a (some) finite member ofK. We callK narrow if Pr (K) is finite. The key result proved here states that for any finite setK of finite algebras of the same type, the following are equivalent: (1) SPK is a narrow class. (2) V(K) has uniform congruence relations. (3) SK has uniform congruences and (3) SK has permuting congruences. (4) Pr (V(K))= Pr(SK). A varietyV is calleddirectly representable if there is a finite setK of finite algebras such thatV= V(K) and such that all finite algebras inV belong to PK. An equivalent definition states thatV is finitely generated and, up to isomorphism,V has only finitely many finite directly indecomposable algebras. Directly representable varieties are narrow and hence congruence modular. The machinery of modular commutators is applied in this paper to derive the following results for any directly representable varietyV. Each finite, directly indecomposable algebra inV is either simple or abelian.V satisfies the commutator identity [x,y]=x·y·[1,1] holding for congruencesx andy over any member ofV. The problem of characterizing finite algebras which generate directly representable varieties is reduced to a problem of ring theory on which there exists an extensive literature: to characterize those finite ringsR with identity element for which the variety of all unitary leftR-modules is directly representable. (In the terminology of [7], the condition is thatR has finite representation type.) We show that the directly representable varieties of groups are precisely the finitely generated abelian varieties, and that a finite, subdirectly irreducible, ring generates a directly representable variety iff the ring is a field or a zero ring.  相似文献

We study certain functions from the p-adic integers to a locally compact field of characteristic p: finite linear combinations of exponentials and their uniform limits (which we call Dirichlet series). Our main result is that such a Dirichlet series is determined by its restriction to an arbitrarily small open subset of the p-adic integers.  相似文献

Let K be a field of characteristic p and G a nonabelian metacyclic finite p-group. We give an explicit list of all metacyclic p-groups G, such that the group algebra KG over a field of characteristic p has a filtered multiplicative K-basis. We also present an example of a non-metacyclic 2-group G, such that the group algebra KG over any field of characteristic 2 has a filtered multiplicative K-basis.  相似文献

A subgroup H of a finite group G is called a c#-normal subgroup of G if there exists a normal subgroup K of G such that G = HK and HK is a CAP-subgroup of G: In this paper, we investigate the influence of fewer c#-normal subgroups of Sylow p-subgroups on the p-supersolvability, p-nilpotency, and supersolvability of finite groups. We obtain some new sufficient and necessary conditions for a group to be p-supersolvable, p-nilpotent, and supersolvable. Our results improve and extend many known results.  相似文献

We prove that a finite group whose every maximal subgroup is simple or nilpotent is a Schmidt group. A group whose every maximal subgroup is simple or supersoluble can be nonsoluble, and in this case we prove that its chief series has the form 1 ? K ? G, K }~ PSL 2(p) for a suitable prime p, |G: K| ≤ 2.  相似文献

Let K be a finitely generated field of transcendence degree 1 over a finite field, and set GK?Gal(Ksep/K). Let φ be a Drinfeld A-module over K in special characteristic. Set E?EndK(φ) and let Z be its center. We show that for almost all primes p of A, the image of the group ring Ap[GK] in EndA(Tp(φ)) is the commutant of E. Thus, for almost all p it is a full matrix ring over ZAAp. In the special case E=A it follows that the representation of GK on the p-torsion points φ[p] is absolutely irreducible for almost all p.  相似文献

Let K be a finite extension of Qp, let L/K be a finite abelian Galois extension of odd degree and let OL be the valuation ring of L. We define AL/K to be the unique fractional OL-ideal with square equal to the inverse different of L/K. For p an odd prime and L/Qp contained in certain cyclotomic extensions, Erez has described integral normal bases for AL/Qp that are self-dual with respect to the trace form. Assuming K/Qp to be unramified we generate odd abelian weakly ramified extensions of K using Lubin-Tate formal groups. We then use Dwork's exponential power series to explicitly construct self-dual integral normal bases for the square-root of the inverse different in these extensions.  相似文献

We obtain two equivalent conditions for m polynomials in n variables to form a p-basis of a ring of constants of some polynomial K-derivation, where K is a unique factorization domain of characteristic p > 0. One of these conditions involves Jacobians while the other some properties of factors. In the case m = n this extends the known theorem of Nousiainen, and we obtain a new formulation of the Jacobian conjecture in positive characteristic.  相似文献

We generalize Amitsur's construction of central simple algebras over a field F which are split by field extensions possessing a derivation with field of constants F to nonassociative algebras: for every central division algebra D over a field F of characteristic zero there exists an infinite-dimensional unital nonassociative algebra whose right nucleus is D and whose left and middle nucleus are a field extension K of F splitting D, where F is algebraically closed in K.We then give a short direct proof that every p-algebra of degree m, which has a purely inseparable splitting field K of degree m and exponent one, is a differential extension of K and cyclic. We obtain finite-dimensional division algebras over a field F of characteristic p>0 whose right nucleus is a division p-algebra.  相似文献
