BICYCLO[2. 2. 1] HEPT-5-ENE-2,3-DICARBOXYLIC ANHYDRIDE CAPPED ‘PMR'''' TYPE POLYAMIDE-IMIDE

The resin solution of NA capped ‘PMR' type polyamide-imide was prepared from bicyclo [2.2.1]-hept-5-ene-2, 3-dicarboxylic acid ethyl ester,1, 2, 4-trimellitic acid-2-(or-1-) ethyl ester and 4,4'-methylenedianiline in ethanol. This resin solution is specially suitable for the preparation of compo-sites. The fiexural strength of the glass cloth reinforced plastics was 6000--7000 kg/cm~2 (RM) and4000--kg/cm~2 (260°--300℃), respectively. The result of isothermal aging for 800 hours in-dicated that this composite can be used at 26℃. The mechanism of the formation of polyamide-imide was discussed by using appropriate model compounds.     

First Stereqselective Synthesis of Nitrophenyl 2-Deoxy- β-D-glycosides

α-Dithiophosphates of peracetylated 2-deoxyhexc-pyranoses, 1a, 1b and 2, uhich are easily prepared by addition of organic phosphorodithioic acids to glycais react smoothly with resin-bound 2- and 4-nitrophenoxides to give stereoselectively the respective nitrophenyl 2-deoxy-β-D-hexopyranosides (3, 4, 5 and 6) in high yields. Glycosylation of the 2, 4-dinitro'phenoxide, however, leads with comparable stereoselectivity to 2,4-dinitrophenyl 2-deoxy- α-D-hexopyranosides (7 and 8).

Glycosides 3 - 6 are quantitatively deacetylatec by Amberlyst A-26 (OH^-), whereas glycosides 7 and 8, under the same reaction conditions undergo splitting of the O-glycosidic bond.

Investigations in the region of 2,3′-biquinoline. 3. Synthesis of 2′-alkyl(aryl)-1′,2′-dihydro-2,3′-biquinolines and 2′-alkyl(aryl)-2,3′-biquinolines

A method was developed for the synthesis of 2-alkyl(aryl)-1,2-dihydro-2,3-biquinolines, based on the addition of organolithium compounds to 2,3-biquinoline in the presence of tetramethylethylenediamine. An Easy Preparation of 2-Deoxy-2-Phthalimido-β-D-Glucoand β-L-Rhamnopyranosides

Abstract

Benzyl and allyl glycosides are prepared directly from 1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-deoxy-2-phthalimido-α,β-d-glucppyranose and 1,2,3,4-tetra-O-acetyl-β-l-rhamnopyranose using stannic chloride as catalyst with solutions of the respective alcohols in methylene chloride.     

Syntheses of O-(2-Acetamido-2-Deoxy-α-D-Galactopyranosyl)-Myo-Inositols

ABSTRACT

The structure of an O-(2-acetamido-2-deoxy-α-D-galactopyranosyl)-myo-inositol isolated from human pregnancy urine has previously been identified as that of 1-O-(2-acetamido-2-deoxy-α-D-galactopyranosyl)-myo-inositol. In order to ascertain the absolute configuration in the inositol part of the compound, the 1D- and 1L- isomers were synthesised. Since none of these two stereoisomers corresponded to the natural product, the corresponding 2-O-, the mixture of the two 1DL-4-O-, and 5-O- isomers were also synthesised. None of these gave ¹H NMR spectra corresponding to the natural product, the structure of which therefore remains unresolved.

Convenient Preparation of 2-Deoxy-3,5-di-O-p-toluoyl-α-D-erythro-pentofuranosyl Chloride

By using acetyl chloride as HCl generator, the procedure for the Hoffer preparation of the α-chloro sugar 4a was significantly improved. The α-configuration of the chloro atom was confirmed by using NOE measurement. Sequential transformation of 4a to the β-anomer and to the furfuryl derivative 6 was studied.

Studies in the area of 2,3′-biquinolyl. 1. Arylation and hetarylation of 2,3′-biquinolyl dianion

The 2,3-biquinolyl dianion, when reacting with aryl- and hetaryl halides, forms arylation products at the 4 position, and treatment of these products with alkyl halides or water yields 1-alkyl-4-aryl-1,4-dihydro-2,3-biquinolyls or 4-aryl-1,4-dihydro-2,3-biquinolyls, respectively. Oxidation of the latter yields 4-aryl-2,3-biquinolyls. The cation dependence of the arylation reaction is demonstrated.Stavropol' State University, Stavropol' 355009. 2-Deoxy-2-C-(2,3-dideoxy-α-d-erythro-hexopyranosyl)-β-d-glucopyranoses: Reinvestigation of Synthesis,Use in Glycosylation,and Conformational Analyses by NMR

Abstract

Conformational investigations using 1D TOCSY and ROESY ¹H NMR experiments on 1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-C-(4,6-di-O-acetyl-2,3-dideoxy-α-D-erythro-hexopyranosyl)-2-deoxy-β-D-glucopyranose (8) and related disaccharides showed that for steric reasons the C-linked hexopyranosyl ring occurs in the usually unfavoured ¹C₄ conformation and reconfirmed the structure of 1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-C-(4,6-di-O-acetyl-2,3-dideoxy-α-D-erythro-hex-2-enopyranosyl)-2-deoxy-β-D-glucopyranose (5). Glycosylation of 2,3,6-tri-O-benzyl-α-D-glucopyranosyl 2,3-di-O-benzyl-4,6-(R)-O-benzylidene-α-D-glucopyranoside (13) with acetate 8 using trimethylsilyl triflate as a catalyst afforded the α-D-linked tetrasaccharide 14. A remarkable side product in this reaction was the unsaturated tetrasaccharide 2,3,6-tri-O-benzyl-4-O-[4,6-di-O-acetyl-2,3-dideoxy-2-C-(4,6-di-O-acetyl-2,3-dideoxy-β-D-erythro-hexopyranosyl)-α-D-erythro-hex-2-enopyranosyl]-α-D-glucopyranosyl 2,3-di-O-benzyl-4,6-(R)-O-benzylidene-α-D-glucopyranoside (16) where in the C-linked hexopyranosyl ring an isomerization to the β-anomer had taken place to allow for the favoured ⁴C₁ conformation. The tetrasaccharide 14 was deacetylated and hydrogenolyzed to form the fully deprotected tetrasaccharide 18. The ¹ C ₄ conformation of the C-glycosidic pyranose of this tetrasaccharide was maintained as shown by an in depth NMR analysis of its peracetate 19.

Zusammenfassung Enaminoketone vom Typ der Aryl-bzw. Alkyl-aminopropenone sind vorzüglich geeignet, mit 4-Aminouracil 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-2,4-dione zu geben. Mit Aminomethylencyclohexanon gelangt man auf diese Weise zum 1,2,3,4,7,8,9,10-Octahydro-pyrimido[4,5-c]isochinolin. Das Isomerieproblem dieser Heterocyclen wird diskutiert.

Enaminoketones, IV: 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-pyrido[2,3-d]-pyrimidine-2,4-diones

Enaminoketones like aryl-and alkyl-aminopropenones, resp., are useful in the synthesis of 1.2.3.4-tetrahydro-pyrido-[2.3-d]pyrimidine-2.4-diones with 4-aminouracil. Amino-methylenecyclohexanone loads to 1.2.3.4.7.8.9.10-octahydropyrimido[4.5-c]isoquinoline. The problem of isomers is discussed.

Einfache Darstellung von Δ5-cyclohexen-2,3-trans-dicarbonsäureesrtern

Zusammenfassung Fumarsäuredialkylester reagieren mit Cyclopentadien, 1,3-Cyclohexadien und Hexachlorcyclopentadien unter 1,4-Addition zu den entsprechenden bicyclischen trans-Dicarbonsäureestern. Die halogenfreien Addukte werden zu den gesättigten Verbindungen hydriert; alkalische Verseifung führt zu den freien Dicarbonsäuren.

Zusammenfassung Durch Umsetzung von Palladiumsalzen mit Kaliumnickeltetracyanid wird eine dem Palladium äquivalente Nickelmenge in Freiheit gesetzt und kann in ammoniakalischer Lösung gegen Murexid titriert werden. Bei Verwendung von 0,01-m Komplexonlösungen ergeben sich maximale Fehler von±20g Palladium.

Summary By treating palladium salts with potassium nickel tetracyanide, a quantity of nickel equivalent to the palladium is liberated and can be titrated in an ammoniacal solution with murexide. Maximum errors of±20 g palladium are obtained when 0.01 M solutions of complexone are used.

Investigations of 2,3′-biquinolyl. 9. Reaction of 1′,4′-dihydro-2,3′-biquinolyl with organolithium compounds

The 1,4-dihydro-2,3-biquinolyl reacts with organolithium compounds to form the mixture of 4-R-1,4-dihydro-2,3-biquinolyls and 2-R-1,2-dihydro-2,3-biquinolyls in the ratio analogous to the conversion in the series of 2,3-biquinolyl. The utilization of the complex, the organolithium compound-TMEDA, in this process leads, after treatment of the reaction mixture with water, exclusively to 2-R-1,2-dihydro-2,3-biquinolyls. Treatment with methyl iodide leads to 1-methyl-2-R-1,2-dihydro-2,3-biquinolyls.
