Lifetime-limited optical excitation lines of single nitrogen-vacancy (NV) defect centers in diamond have been observed at liquid helium temperature. They display unprecedented spectral stability over many seconds and excitation cycles. Spectral tuning of the spin-selective optical resonances was performed via the application of an external electric field (i.e., the Stark shift). A rich variety of Stark shifts were observed including linear as well as quadratic components. The ability to tune the excitation lines of single NV centers has potential applications in quantum information processing.  相似文献

Considering a quantum model consisting of two effective two-level atoms and a single-mode cavity,this paper investigates the entanglement dynamics between the two atoms,and studies the effect of the Stark shift on the entanglement.The results show that,on the one hand the atom-atom entanglement evolves periodically with time and the periods are affected by the Stark shift;on the other hand,the two atoms are not disentangled at any time when the Stark shift is considered,and for large values of the Stark shift parameter,the two atoms can remain in a stationary entangled state.In addition,for the initially partially entangled atomic state,the atom-atom entanglement can be greatly enhanced due to the presence of Stark shift.These properties show that the Stark shift can be used to control entanglement between two atoms.  相似文献

A novel wavelength dependent Stark shift compensation method for isotope selective ionization in Doppler free two-photon spectroscopy is theoretically investigated. In the present paper, certain wavelengths for the ionization step termed as “magic wavelengths” are identified for compensating the Stark shift induced by the excitation laser. The numerical calculations indicate that, ionization efficiencies can be maximized by the judicious choice of the intensities of the excitation and the ionization lasers without much degradation in the optical selectivity. The effects of Stark shift induced asymmetry and its reversal by selecting the appropriate magic wavelength for the ionization step for various excitation and ionization laser intensities have been investigated. The wavelength dependent Stark compensation method can be adapted for the isotope selective Doppler free two-photon excitation followed by non-resonant ionization process for any atomic system. In the present work, the theoretical results pertaining to the specific example of 41Ca has been presented.  相似文献

Experimental Stark-broadening studies of two selected doubly excited NI multiplets from the infrared wavelength range are presented. One of them is very sensitive to interactions with charged particles in plasmas and the other exhibits — at the same plasma conditions — only very small broadening and shift. A high current wall-stabilized arc operated in helium with admixture of nitrogen and hydrogen was applied as the excitation source. The radiation of the plasma was detected by applying a grating spectrometer equipped with a CCD detector. Measurements were performed at electron densities of the plasma between 3×1015 and 7×1015 cm-3, corresponding to temperatures from the range 8000–10500 K. Electron impact widths (we) and shifts (de) of fine structure components of these multiplets were determined. The evaluated Stark broadening parameters (we, de) are compared with other experimental data and with calculated Stark effect constants.  相似文献

研究了计及Stark效应的J-C模型的腔场谱,通过求解本征方程导出了腔场谱的计算公式,给出了腔场处于光子数态时的数值结果,讨论了Stark效应和初始场强对标准J-C模型腔场谱的影响.发现在初始场为真空场时,两个Rabi峰的高度相等,随着Stark位移参数的增大,两峰都向低频方向移动,且频差逐渐增大;在初始场较强的情况下,Stark移动参数增大时会导致双峰的对称性消失,通过测量两峰的相对高度也可确定Stark位移参数的大小;在Stark效应较强初始场递增的情况下两峰仍向左移,但峰间距越来越小;在弱场情况下,Stark效应使两峰呈现左高右低或左低右高的峰结构.总之,改变Stark位移参数β1、β2的大小以及初始场强的强弱,可得到不同的谱线结构.  相似文献

研究双光子跃迁的双Jaynes-Cummings模型中, 两原子初始处于最大纠缠态、光场初始处于单模热态时的原子纠缠动力学, 考虑双光子过程中的Stark位移、热光场的平均光子数对原子纠缠的影响. 结果表明: 不考虑Stark位移时, 两原子在系统演化过程中周期性地出现退纠缠现象, 而考虑Stark位移时, 两原子长时间地纠缠. 特别是当Stark位移参数取值较大且热光场的平均光子数值比较小时, 两原子能保持 稳定地纠缠. 这些结果表明, 可以利用Stark位移对热环境下双Jaynes-Cummings模型中的原子纠缠进行调控.  相似文献

Stark widths and shifts of some prominent F I spectral lines have been determined experimentally in aZ-pinch plasma in dichlorodifluoromethane on a shot-to-shot basis. The electron density was determined by the laser interferometry while the electron temperature was measured from relative intensities of Cl II lines. Temperatures were in the range 19100–36200 °K; electron densities varied from 0.71 to 1.43×1017cm?3. Measured F I linewidths and shifts are compared with theoretical results computed by Griem and it is shown that a) experimental widths are systematically smaller and the degree of discrepancy increases with temperature, b) line shifts are also smaller than theoretical with exception of multiplets 5 and 6 with the shifts of opposite sign than theoretically predicted, c) experimental shift-to-width ratios decrease with the temperature but less than theoretically expected. Attention is drawn in general, to the systematic discrepancy between experimental results for neutral atom lines and the theory. The magnitude of this disagreement is related to the relative position of the energy levels of spectral line to the ionisation limit.  相似文献

We report a quantitative low-temperature scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS) study on the Ag(111) surface state over an unprecedented range of currents (50 pA to 6 microA) through which we can tune the electric field in the tunnel junction of the microscope. We show that in STS a sizable Stark effect causes a shift of the surface-state binding energy E0. Data taken are reproduced by a one-dimensional potential model calculation, and are found to yield a Stark-free energy E0 in agreement with recent state-of-the-art photoemission spectroscopy measurements.  相似文献

The exciton Stark shift and polarization in hemispherical quantum dots(HQDs) each as a function of strength and orientation of applied electric field are theoretically investigated by an exact diagonalization method. A highly anisotropic Stark redshift of exciton energy is found. As the electric field is rotated from Voigt to Faraday geometry, the redshift of exciton energy monotonically decreases. This is because the asymmetric geometric shape of the hemispherical quantum dot restrains the displacement of the wave function to the higher orbital state in response to electric field along Faraday geometry. A redshift of hole energy is found all the time while a transition of electron energy from this redshift to a blueshift is found as the field is rotated from Voigt to Faraday geometry. Taking advantage of the diminishing of Stark effect along Faraday geometry, the hemispherical shapes can be used to improve significantly the radiative recombination efficiency of the polar optoelectronic devices if the strong internal polarized electric field is along Faraday geometry.  相似文献

An analytical expression for the second-order AC Stark shift of the ground state of atomic hydrogen is derived, which is convergent for negative as well as for positive energies of intermediate states except for the resonances. To clarify the applicability of the second-order perturbation theory, we compared results with those which are obtained by us and other authors using nonperturbative methods. It appears that values obtained for the AC Stark shift using our simple formula agree on average with Floquet-method calculations up to the field strength F=0.12 (a.u.), which corresponds to I=1015 W/cm2. A photon sieve with 10(7) holes has been constructed for operation at optical wavelengths. Details of the design, fabrication, and performance of this device are presented. The 1 m focal-length, 0.1 m diameter element is diffraction limited over a significant bandwidth and has a moderate field of view.  相似文献

We suggest a conditional phase-shifter that achieves a phase shift of π radians between two weak laser beams with a total energy density on the level of 1000 photons per atomic cross-section. The two laser beams interact through the simple nonlinear technique of ac Stark shifting the common ground state of a V-type system. We find that this switch can operate in the far-off resonance regime, with low absorption and high phase accumulation. Additionally, the bandwidth of this switch can be increased independently of the energy requirement.  相似文献

Stark broadening theory associates high values of E field to each point from the wings of an X-ray Lyman profile. For high densities (1021 – 1025 cm-3) plasmas the hypothesis that the ionic field is uniform — at least at atomic range — is no longer valid. Taylor's expansion of the quasi static perturbation shows that the real splitting is no longer symmetrical but the line profile can be interpreted as the addition of a macroscopic shift to the usual broadening.  相似文献

This paper examines the Stark effect, as a first order perturbation of manifestly covariant hydrogen-like bound states. These bound states are solutions to a relativistic Schrödinger equation with invariant evolution parameter, and represent mass eigenstates whose eigenvalues correspond to the well-known energy spectrum of the nonrelativistic theory. In analogy to the nonrelativistic case, the off-diagonal perturbation leads to a lifting of the degeneracy in the mass spectrum. In the covariant case, not only do the spectral lines split, but they acquire an imaginary part which is linear in the applied electric field, thus revealing induced bound state decay in first order perturbation theory. This imaginary part results from the coupling of the external field to the non-compact boost generator. In order to recover the conventional first order Stark splitting, we must include a scalar potential term. This term may be understood as a fifth gauge potential, which compensates for dependence of gauge transformations on the invariant evolution parameter.  相似文献
