Using the method of dynamical systems for six nonlinear wave equations, the exact explicit parametric representations of the solitary cusp wave solutions and the periodic cusp wave solutions are given. These parametric representations follow that when travelling systems corresponding to these nonlinear wave equations has a singular straight line, under some parameter conditions, nonanalytic travelling wave solutions must appear. The theory of planar dynamical systems is used to study the dynamical behaviours of travelling wave solutions of a nonlinear wave equations of KdV type.In different regions of the parametric space,sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of solitary wave solutions,periodic wave solutions,kink and anti-kink wave solutions are given.All possible exact explicit parametric representations are obtained for these waves.  相似文献

We classify the weak traveling wave solutions for a class of one-dimensional non-linear shallow water wave models. The equations are shown to admit smooth, peaked, and cusped solutions, as well as more exotic waves such as stumpons and composite waves. In the present paper we consider the nonlinear evolution equation u+AuG(u), where A:D(A)XX is m-accretive with (I+A)–1 compact for some >0, and is continuous, and we prove that the orbit is relatively compact if and only if u is uniformly continuous, and both u and G^u are bounded on . In the same spirit, we derive conditions for orbits of bounded sets to have compact attractors. Some consequences and an example from age-structured population dynamics illustrate the effectiveness of the abstract result.  相似文献

For periodic solutions to the autonomous delay differential equation
with rational periods we derive a characteristic equation for the Floquet multipliers. This generalizes a result from an earlier paper where only periods larger than 2 were considered. As an application we obtain a criterion for hyperbolicity of certain periodic solutions, which are rapidly oscillating in the sense that the delay 1 is larger than the distance between consecutive zeros. The criterion is used to find periodic orbits which are unstable and hyperbolic. An example of a non-autonomous periodic linear delay differential equation with a monodromy operator which is not hyperbolic shows how subtle the conditions of the hyperbolicity criteria in the present paper and in its predecessor are. We also derive first results on Floquet multipliers in case of irrational periods. These are based on approximations by periodic solutions with rational periods.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence and uniqueness of pseudo almost periodic solutions to a class of semilinear differential equations involving the algebraic sum of two (possibly noncommuting) densely defined closed linear operators acting on a Hilbert space. We continue work by the second author and co-workers onsolitary wave solutions of nonlinear beam equations and their stabilityand interaction properties. The equations are partial differentialequations that are fourth-order in space and second-order in time.First, we highlight similarities between the intricate structure ofsolitary wave solutions for two different nonlinearities; apiecewise-linear term versus an exponential approximation to thisnonlinearity which was shown in earlier work to possess remarkablystable solitary waves. Second, we compare two different numericalmethods for solving the time dependent problem. One uses a fixed griddiscretization and the other a moving mesh method. We use these methodsto shed light on the nonlinear dynamics of the solitary waves. Earlywork has reported how even quite complex solitary waves appear stable,and that stable waves appear to interact like solitons. Here we show twofurther effects. The first effect is that large complex waves can, as aresult of roundoff error, spontaneously decompose into two simplerwaves, a process we call fission. The second is the fusion of twostable waves into another plus a small amount of radiation.  相似文献

基于精确至O(εμ^2,μ^4)的多孔介质无压渗流模型方程和均匀流体质波动的Boussinesq方程,本文对孤立波与多孔介质结构物的相互作用了较系统的数值实验。控制方程采用基于有限差分方程离散,在时域上采用了预估-校正方法进行了时间积分。在求解演化方程的过程中,引入“内迭代”过程实现流体域和多孔介质交界面的连接条件。结果表明孤立波在多孔介质上的反射与在不可渗透的界面上的反射类似,形成反向的孤立波但  相似文献
