Reported herein are the synthesis, structural, magnetic and M?ssbauer spectroscopic characterisation of a dinuclear Fe(II) triple helicate complex [Fe(2)(L)(3)](ClO(4))(4).xH(2)O (x = 1-4), 1(H(2)O), where L is a bis-bidentate imidazolimine ligand. Low temperature structural analysis (150 K) and M?ssbauer spectroscopy (4.5 K) are consistent with one of the Fe(II) centres within the helicate being in the low spin (LS) state with the other being in the high-spin (HS) state resulting in a [LS:HS] species. However, M?ssbauer spectroscopy (295 K) and variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements (4.5-300 K) reveal that 1(H(2)O) undergoes a reversible single step spin crossover at one Fe(II) centre at higher temperatures resulting in a [HS:HS] species. Indeed, the T(1/2)(SCO) values at this Fe(II) centre also vary as the degree of hydration, x, within 1(H(2)O) changes from 1 to 4 and are centred between ca. 210 K-265 K, respectively. The dehydration/hydration cycle is reversible and the fully hydrated phase of 1(H(2)O) may be recovered on exposure to water vapour. This magnetic behaviour is in contrast to that observed in the related compound [Fe(2)(L)(3)](ClO(4))(4)·2MeCN, 1(MeCN), whereby fully reversible SCO was observed at each Fe(II) centre to give [LS:LS] species at low temperature and [HS:HS] species at higher temperatures. Reasons for this differing behaviour between 1(H(2)O) and 1(MeCN) are discussed.  相似文献

Metallosupramolecular chemistry was used to design a new class of synthetic agents, namely, tetracationic supramolecular cylinders, that bind strongly and noncovalently in the major groove of DNA. To gain additional information on interactions of the cylinders with DNA we explored DNA unwinding and sequence-specific binding properties, as well as DNA photonuclease activity of ruthenium(II) metallosupramolecular cylinder [Ru(2)L(3)](4+), where L is a bis-pyridylimine ligand. We found that [Ru(2)L(3)](4+) unwinds negatively supercoiled plasmid DNA and exhibits binding preference to regular alternating purine-pyrimidine sequences in a similar way to the [Fe(2)L(3)](4+) analogue. Photocleavage studies showed that, unlike [Fe(2)L(3)](4+), [Ru(2)L(3)](4+) induces single-strand breaks on irradiation by visible and UVA light and cleaves DNA mainly at guanine residues contained preferentially in regularly alternating purine-pyrimidine nucleotides. As [Ru(2)L(3)](4+) binds and cleaves DNA in a sequence-dependent manner, it may provide a useful tool for basic and applied biology, such as for controlled manipulation of the genome.  相似文献

A “signal-on” electrochemical sensing strategy was designed for highly sensitive and selective detection of mercury (II) via its induction to three-way junction of DNA (DNA-TWJ). The TWJ consisted of the capture probe that was self-assembled on a gold electrode surface through SAu bond, the signal probe that was labeled with ferrocene (Fc) and contained single T–T mismatch to capture probe, and an assistant probe for the formation of DNA-TWJ upon the presence of mercury (II). This process caused the Fc tag approaching the electrode for fast electron transfer and thus increased the oxidation current. The “signal-on” sensing method could detect Hg2 + ranging from 0.005 to 100 nM. The assay was simple and fast. It showed potential application in on-site and real-time Hg2 + detection.  相似文献

We report here a thorough (1)H NMR study of Fe(acac)(2) solutions in a wide variety of noncoordinating and coordinating solvents, as well as the interaction of this complex with Et(3)N, pyridine, PMe(2)Ph, and R(2)PCH(2)CH(2)PR(2) [R = Ph (dppe), Et (depe)] in C(6)D(6). The study reveals that Fe(acac)(2) is readily transformed into Fe(acac)(3) in solution under aerobic conditions and that the commercial compound is usually contaminated by significant amounts of Fe(acac)(3). The (1)H NMR resonances of Fe(acac)(2) are rather solvent-dependent and quite different than those reported in the literature. The compound is unstable in CDCl(3) and stable in CD(2)Cl(2), C(6)D(6), CD(3)CN, acetone-d(6), DMSO-d(6), THF-d(8), and CD(3)OD. The addition of the above-mentioned ligands (L) reveals only one paramagnetically shifted band for each type of acac and L proton, the position of which varies with the L/Fe ratio, consistent with rapid ligand exchange equilibria on the NMR time scale. A fit of the NMR data at a high L/Fe ratio allows the calculation of the expected resonances for all protons in the Fe(acac)(2)L(2) molecules. The system with the bidentate depe ligand shows evidence for a slow ligand exchange at low depe/Fe ratios, proposed to involve a species with the cis-chelated mononuclear Fe(acac)(2)(depe) structure, whereas the fast exchange at a higher ratio is proposed to involved a trans-Fe(acac)(2)(κ(1)-depe)(2) complex. Complex Fe(acac)(2)(dppe) cannot be investigated in solution because of low solubility in a noncoordinating solvent and because of the poor dppe competition for binding in coordinating solvents. The compound was crystallized, and its X-ray structure reveals a 1-dimensional polymeric structure with dppe-bridged Fe centers having the trans-octahedral Fe(acac)(2)(κ(1)-dppe)(2) coordination environment.  相似文献

Here, we report the evolution of two star-shaped (five-way junction) deoxyribozymes from a catalytic DNA containing a three-way junction scaffold. The transition was shown to be a switch rather than a gradual progression. The star-shaped motifs, surprisingly, only took five selection cycles to be detected, and another four to dominate the evolving population. Chemical probing experiments indicated that the two deoxyribozymes belong to the same family despite noticeable variations in both the primary sequence and the secondary structure. Our findings not only describe the evolution of high-branching nucleic acid structures from a low-branching catalytic module, but they also illustrate the idea of deriving a rare structural motif by sampling the sequence variants of a given functional nucleic acid.  相似文献

Condensation of phthalodinitrile and 2-amino-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinoline gave the bis(2-pyridylimino)isoindole protioligand 1 (thqbpiH) in high yield. Deprotonation of thqbpiH (1) using LDA in THF at -78 °C yields the corresponding lithium complex [Li(THF)(thqbpi)] (2) in which the lithium atom enforces almost planar arrangement of the tridentate ligand, with an additional molecule of THF coordinated to Li. Reaction of cobalt(II) chloride or iron(II) chloride with one equivalent of the lithium complex 2 in THF led to formation of the metal complexes [CoCl(THF)(thqbpi)] (3a) and [FeCl(THF)(thqbpi)] (3b). The paramagnetic susceptibility of 3a,b in solution was measured by the Evans method (3a: μ(eff) = 4.17 μ(B); 3b: μ(eff) = 5.57 μ(B)). Stirring a solution of 1 and cobalt(II) acetate tetrahydrate in methanol yielded the cobalt(II) complex 4 which was also accessible by treatment of 3a with one equivalent of silver or thallium acetate in DMSO. Whereas 3a,b were found to be mononuclear in the solid state, the acetate complex 4 was found to be dinuclear, the two metal centres being linked by an almost symmetrically bridging acetate. For all transition metal complexes paramagnetic (1)H as well as (13)C NMR spectra were recorded at variable temperatures. The complete assignment of the paramagnetic NMR spectra was achieved by computation of the spin densities within the complexes using DFT. The proton NMR spectra of 3a and 3b displayed dynamic behaviour. This was attributed to the exchange of coordinating solvent molecules by an associative mechanism which was analysed using lineshape analysis (ΔS(≠)= -154 ± 25 J mol(-1) K(-1) for 3a and ΔS(≠) = -168 ± 15 J mol(-1) K(-1) for 3b).  相似文献

The preparation, spectroscopic characterization, and magnetic study of three new oxamidate-bridged nickel(II) dinuclear complexes of formulas ([Ni(Me3[12]aneN3)]2(mu-oa))(PF6)2 (1), ([Ni(Me3[12]aneN3)]2(mu-dmoa))(PF6)2 (2), and ([Ni(Me3[12]aneN3)]2(mu-dpoa))(PF6)2 (3) (Me3[12]aneN3 = 2,4,4-trimethyl-1,5,9-triazacyclododec-1-ene, oa = oxamidate, dmoa = N,N'-dimethyloxamidate, and dpoa = N,N'-diphenyloxamidate) are reported. The crystal structures of two of them (1 and 3) have been determined. 1 and 3 crystallize in the monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/c, with Z = 2 and a = 7.901(4) A, b = 13.597(6) A, c = 17.565(10) A, and beta = 96.46(4) degrees for 1 and a = 13.854(3) A, b = 17.469(4) A, c = 12.543(3) A, and beta = 116.22(3) degrees for 3. The structures of 1 and 3 consist of dinuclear ([Ni(Me3[12]aneN3)]2(mu-oa))2+ and ([Ni(Me3[12]aneN3)]2(mu-dpoa))2+ cations and hexafluorophosphate anions. Each nickel in 1-3 is five-coordinate, and the substitution of the hydrogen atom of the amidate nitrogen of 1 by a methyl (2) or a phenyl (3) group causes a significant modification of the stereochemistry of the nickel(II) ions from square pyramidal toward trigonal bipyramidal (tau values of 0.12 and 0.48 for 1 and 3, respectively). The NOESY spectrum of 3 has allowed us to achieve the assignment of the phenyl protons of the N,N'-diphenyloxamidate. The value of magnetic coupling between the two nickel(II) ions across the oxamidate bridge [J = -57.0 (oa, 1), -38.0 (dmoa, 2) and -30.5 cm(-1) (dpoa, 3)] is very sensitive to this stereochemical change, and its variation is explained on the basis of orbital considerations. DFT type calculations have been performed to analyze and substantiate the trend of the magnetic coupling in 1-3.  相似文献

The first crystal structures of a dinuclear iron(II) complex with three N1,N2-1,2,4-triazole bridges in the high-spin and low-spin states are reported. Its sharp spin transition, which was probed using X-ray, calorimetric, magnetic, and (57)Fe Mossbauer analyses, is also delineated in the crystalline state by variable-temperature fluorimetry for the first time.  相似文献

A novel Ru(II) complex possessing two sequentially linked viologen units, Ru-V(1)-V(2)(6+), was synthesized and characterized. Upon excitation of the Ru(II) unit (lambda(exc) = 532 nm, fwhm approximately 10 ns), a long-lived charge-separated (CS) state is observed (tau = 1.7 micros) by transient absorption spectroscopy. Unlike Ru(bpy)(3)(2+), which cleaves DNA upon photolysis through the formation of reactive oxygen species, such as (1)O(2) and O(2)(-), the photocleavage of plasmid DNA by Ru-V(1)-V(2)(6+) is observed both in air and under N(2) atmosphere (lambda(irr) > 395 nm).  相似文献

The magnetic properties and results from X-ray structure analysis for a new pair of iron(II) spin-crossover complexes [FeL1(meim) 2](meim) ( 1(meim)) and [Fe 2L2(meim) 4](meim) 4 ( 2(meim) 4), with L1 being a tetradentate N 2O 2 (2-) coordinating Schiff-base-like ligand [([3,3']-[1,2-phenylenebis(iminomethylidyne)]bis(2,4-pentane-dionato)(2-)N,N',O (2),O (2)'], L2 being an octadentate, dinucleating N 2O 2 (2-) coordinating Schiff-base-like ligand [3,3',3',3']-[1,2,4,5-phenylenetetra(iminomethylidyne)]tetra(2,4-pentanedionato)(2-) N, N', N', N', O (2), O (2) ', O (2) ', O (2) '], and meim being N-methylimidazole, are discussed in this work. Crystalline samples of both complexes show a cooperative spin transition with an approximately 2-K-wide thermal hysteresis loop in the case of 1(meim) ( T 1/2 increase = 179 K and T 1/2 decrease = 177 K) and an approximately 21-K-wide thermal hysteresis loop in the case of dinuclear complex 2(meim) 4 ( T 1/2 increase= 199 K and T 1/2 decrease= 178 K). For a separately prepared powder sample of 2, a gradual spin transition with T 1/2 = 229 K is observed that was additionally followed by Mossbauer spectroscopy. The results from X-ray structure analysis give a deeper insight into the molecule packing in the crystal and, by this, help to explain the increase of cooperative interactions during the spin transition when going from the mononuclear to the dinuclear complex. Both compounds crystallize in the triclinic space group P1, and the X-ray structure was analyzed before and after the spin transition. The change of the spin state at the iron center is accompanied by a change of the O-Fe-O angle, the so-called bite of the equatorial ligand, from about 109 degrees in the high-spin state to 89 degrees in the low-spin state. The cooperative interactions responsible for the thermal hysteresis loop are due to elastic interactions between the complex molecules in both cases. However, due to the higher symmetry of the dinucleating ligand in 2(meim) 4, a 3D network of short contacts is formed, while for mononuclear complex 1(meim), a 2D layer of linked molecules is observed. The spin transition was additionally followed in solution using (1)H NMR spectroscopy for both complexes. In both cases, a gradual spin transition is observed, and the increase of cooperative interactions when going from the mononuclear to the dinuclear system is solely attributed to the extended network of intermolecular contacts.  相似文献

On reaction of different copper(II) salts with 3,4-bis(2-pyridylmethylthio)toluene (L) having neutral tetradentate NSSN donor set in different chemical environments, two mononuclear copper(II), one dinuclear copper(I) and one dinuclear copper(II) complexes, formulated as [CuII(L)(H2O)2](NO3)2 (1), [CuII(pic)2] (2), [CuI2(L)2](ClO4)2 (3) and [CuII2(L)2Cl2](ClO4)2 (4), respectively, were isolated in pure form [where pic = picolinate]. All the complexes were characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. The product of the reactions are dependent on the counter anion of copper(II) salts used as reactant and on the reaction medium. Complexes 1 and 4 were obtained with nitrate and perchlorate copper(II) salts, respectively. On the other hand, C–S bond cleavage was observed in the reaction of L with copper(II) chloride to form in situ picolinic acid and complex 2. Dinuclear complexes 3 and 4 were separated out when copper(II) perchlorate was allowed to react with L in methanol and in acetonitrile, respectively, under aerobic condition. The X-ray diffraction analysis of the dinuclear complex 3 shows a highly distorted tetrahedral geometry about each copper ion. Complex 4 is converted to 3 in acetonitrile in presence of catechol. The spectral study of complex 4 with calf thymus DNA is indicative of a groove binding mode interaction.  相似文献

New examples of adducts between di- (and, in one instance, tetra-) functional nitrogen ligands and planar 'platform-like' dinuclear copper(II) complexes, [Cu2L2], incorporating the 1,3-aryl linked bis-beta-diketonato bridging ligand 1,1'-(1,3-phenylene)-bis(4,4-dimethylpentane-1,3-dione) (H2L) have been synthesised. The X-ray structures of six adduct species are reported. The interaction of [Cu2(L)2] with the ditopic ligand aminopyrazine (apyz) yielded the sandwich-like tetranuclear species [(Cu2L2(apyz))2]. A variable-temperature magnetochemical investigation of this product indicated weak antiferromagnetic coupling between the (five-coordinate) copper centres, mediated by the 2-aminopyrazine linkers. An analogous structure, [(Cu2L2(dabco))2] (dabco=1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane), was generated when dabco was substituted for aminopyrazine while use of 4,4'-dipyridyl sulfide (dps) and 4,4'-(1,3-xylylene)-bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazole) (xbp) as the ditopic 'spacer' ligands resulted in polymeric species of type [Cu2L2(dps)]n and [Cu2L2(xbp)]n, respectively. These latter species exist as one-dimensional chain structures in which copper(II) centres on different dinuclear platforms are linked in a 'zigzag' fashion. In contrast, with 2,2'-dipyridylamine (dpa) a discrete complex of type [Cu2L2(dpa)2] formed in which one potential pyridyl donor from each 2,2'-dipyridylamine ligand remains uncoordinated. The use of the potentially quadruply-bridging hexamethylenetetramine (hmt) ligand as the linker unit was found to give rise to an unusual two-dimensional polymeric motif of type [(Cu2(L2)2)3(hmt)2]n. The product takes the form of a (6,3) network, incorporating triply bridging hexamethylenetetramine units.  相似文献

Interaction of iron ions with a six-amino acid model of the ferroxidase center of human H chain ferritin has been examined in density functional theory calculations. The model, based on experimental studies of oxidation of Fe2+ at the center, consists of Glu27, Glu62, His65, Glu107, Gln141, and Ala144. Reasonable structures are obtained in a survey of types of iron complexes inferred to occur in the ferroxidase reaction. Structures of complexes of the model center with one and two Fe2+ ions, with diiron(III) bridged by peroxide and bridged by oxide-peroxide combinations, have been optimized. Calculations on diiron(III) complexes confirm that stable peroxide-bridged complexes can form and that the Fe-Fe distance in at least one is consistent with the experimental Fe-Fe distance observed in the blue peroxodiferric complex of ferritin.  相似文献

The copper(II) complex Cu2L(OAc)(H2O)3.5, 1 x 3.5H2O was obtained and its reactivity in a basic medium investigated. Complex 1 x 3.5H2O shows different reaction patterns in air and in an inert atmosphere. Accordingly, interaction of 1 x 3.5H2O with Me4NOH x 5H2O in methanol-acetonitrile in air yields the hydroxide complex Cu2L(OH)(H2O)1.125, 2 x 1.125H2O while Cu2L(OMe)(MeOH)0.5(H2O), 3 x 0.5MeOH x H2O is isolated under an argon atmosphere. The products 1-3 were fully characterised and single crystals of {[Cu2L(OAc)] x MeCN x 3.5H2O}2, 1 x MeCN x 3.5H2O, {[Cu2L(OH)] x MeCN x 1.125H2O}2, 2 x MeCN x 1.125H2O and [Cu2L(OMe)] x 0.5MeOH x H2O, 3 x 0.5MeOH x H2O solved. The single X-ray study shows that 1-3 are dinuclear complexes with an endogenous phenol oxygen and an exogenous O-bridge. Magnetic characterisation of the three dinuclear complexes was performed, showing an apparent anomalous intramolecular ferromagnetic coupling between the metal atoms in all cases.  相似文献
