The phase diagrams of the semi-infinite Ising ferromagnet with decorated magnetic (spin-S) and nonmagnetic atoms on the surface are investigated within the framework of the effective-field theory. In particular, the critical properties of the special point in the surface phase diagram are examined numerically by changing the coupling constants, the single-ion anisotropy constant D on the spin-S ( ) atom, the value of S and the concentration p of magnetic atoms. We find many characteristic features in the behaviour, such as the phenomenon depending on whether S is a half-integer or an integer.  相似文献

We present a study, within a mean-field approach, of the kinetics of a mixed ferrimagnetic model on a square lattice in which two interpenetrating square sublattices have spins that can take two values, , alternated with spins that can take the four values, . We use the Glauber-type stochastic dynamics to describe the time evolution of the system with a crystal-field interaction in the presence of a time-dependent oscillating external magnetic field. The nature (continuous and discontinuous) of transition is characterized by studying the thermal behaviors of average order parameters in a period. The dynamic phase transition points are obtained and the phase diagrams are presented in the reduced magnetic field amplitude (h) and reduced temperature (T) plane, and in the reduced temperature and interaction parameter planes, namely in the (h, T) and (d, T) planes, d is the reduced crystal-field interaction. The phase diagrams always exhibit a tricritical point in (h, T) plane, but do not exhibit in the (d, T) plane for low values of h. The dynamic multicritical point or dynamic critical end point exist in the (d, T) plane for low values of h. Moreover, phase diagrams contain paramagnetic (p), ferromagnetic (f), ferrimagnetic (i) phases, two coexistence or mixed phase regions, (f+p) and (i+p), that strongly depend on interaction parameters.  相似文献

Magnetic properties (magnetization curve, magnetization process, specific heat and paramagnetic susceptibility) of a diluted spin- Ising ferromagnet on a honeycomb lattice are examined by the use of the new formulation based on both the Ising spin identities and the differential operator technique. We find a number of characteristic phenomena, for the system with a negative value of the crystal-field constant in the special region. The physical background is also discussed.  相似文献

We present the renormalization group (RG) flow diagram of a spin-half antiferromagnetic chain with magnetic impurity and one altered link. In this two parameters (competing interactions) model, one can find the complex phase diagram with many interesting fixed points. There is no evidence of intermediate stable fixed point in weak coupling phase. It may arise at the strong coupling phase. Depending on the strength of couplings the phases correspond either to a decoupled spin with Curie law behavior or a logarithmically diverging impurity susceptibility as in the two channel Kondo problem.  相似文献

A theoretical study of a mixed spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 Ising system with independent transverse fields is presented using an effective field method within the framework of a single-site cluster theory. In this approach the effective field equations are derived using a probability distribution method based on the use of generalized van der Waerden identities accounting exactly for the single-site kinematic relations. The effect of the transverse fields on the critical behaviour is studied. The thermal dependence of the longitudinal and transverse components of the magnetization and its higher moments is also studied.  相似文献

Within the framework of the effective field theory with a probability distribution technique that accounts for the single-site spin correlations, we examine the critical behavior of the transverse ferromagnetic spin-1 Ising model of an alternating magnetic superlattice. The critical temperature of the alternating magnetic superlattice has been studied as a function of the interlayer and intralayer exchange interactions and the strength of the transverse field and the thickness of the finite superlattice. <正>Dynamics of a spin-3/2 Ising system Hamiltonian with bilinear and biquadratic nearest-neighbour exchange interactions is studied by a simple method in which the statistical equilibrium theory is combined with the Onsager's theory of irreversible thermodynamics.First, the equilibrium behaviour of the model in the molecular-field approximation is given briefly in order to obtain the phase transition temperatures,i.e.the first- and second-order and the tricritical points. Then, the Onsager theory is applied to the model and the kinetic or rate equations are obtained.By solving these equations three relaxation times are calculated and their behaviours are examined for temperatures near the phase transition points. Moreover, the z dynamic critical exponent is calculated and compared with the z values obtained for different systems experimentally and theoretically, and they are found to be in good agrement.  相似文献

Using an effective field theory with correlations, magnetic properties of an octahedral chain described by a mixed spin Ising model are investigated. Unique phenomena such as multiple hysteresis loops, saturation magnetization, and reverse flip of the magnetization plateaus occur when certain typical parameters are applied. These results may be helpful to further investigate the magnetic properties of one-dimensional systems and could potentially be utilized in the design of spin devices.  相似文献

The mixed spin- 1/2 and spin- 3/2 transverse Ising model in a longitudinal magnetic field is studied within the framework of the effective-field theory with correlations. In this approach the effective-field equations are derived by using a probability distribution method based on the generalized but approximated van der Waerden identities. The total longitudinal and transverse magnetizations, the transverse susceptibility and longitudinal susceptibility and the critical temperatures are obtained. We find a number of interesting phenomena in these quantities, due to the applied transverse field and the longitudinal field.  相似文献

Phase diagrams have been produced and critical exponents calculated for a Blume-Emery-Griffiths system with competing biquadratic and crystal-field interactions with uniform ferromagnetic bilinear interactions. This competition directly effects the clustering and density of nonmagnetic impurities. These results have been produced using renormalization-group methods with a hierarchical lattice. A series of planes of constant, repulsive biquadratic coupling have been probed while varying the temperature and concentration of annealed vacancies in the system. The sinks have been analyzed and interpreted, and critical exponents calculated for the higher order transitions.  相似文献

The phase diagrams of the spin-1 transverse Ising model with the presence of a crystal field is investigated by using an effective-field theory (EFT). We give a method to calculate the Gibbs free energy numerically at finite temperature within the EFT. The first-order transition lines are obtained by comparing the Gibbs free energy. The phase diagrams and the Gibbs free energy are also compared with those given using the mean-field theory (MFT).  相似文献

The dynamic phase transition properties for ferroelectric nanotube under a spin-1/2 transverse Ising model are studied under the effective field theory(EFT)with correlations. The temperature effects on the pseudo-spin systems are unveiled in three-dimensional(3-D)and two-dimensional(2-D)phase diagrams. Moreover, the dynamic behaviors of exchange interactions on the 3-D and 2-D phase transitions under high temperature are exhibited. The results present that it is hard to obtain pure ferroelectric phase under high temperature;that is,the vibration of orderly pseudo-spins cannot be eliminated completely.  相似文献

Two layered magnetic Bethe lattice with varying coordination number q is introduced and numerically studied via exact recursion relations within a pairwise approach. The system is influenced by competing interlayer and intralayer nearest-neighbour (NN) coupling interactions and also by the crystal and external magnetic fields. Cases where both layers are ferromagnetic or one is ferro and the other antiferromagnetic are considered. System configurations’ energy calculations are used to devise some ground state phase diagrams that have proven useful for the investigation of the very low temperature behaviour of the model. Analysis of the thermal behaviours of the total magnetization within the model parameters’ space yield interesting phase diagrams which display fascinating properties, in particular the presence of tricritical points. Increasing negative values of the crystal field strength stabilizes the disordered paramagnetic phase and sometimes gives rise to wavy transition lines.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of a mixed spin ferrimagnetic system σ?=?1/2 and S?=?2 at the sites of a square lattice with a random crystal field are studied by the mean field approximation. The ground state of the system is determined and the total magnetization is plotted according to the model parameters. Different behaviors for the thermal dependence of the magnetization are highlighted. In particular, one sees the appearance of one or two compensating points and many types of phase diagrams with first and second order phase transition lines as well as isolated critical and tricritical points.  相似文献

The spin-3/2 Ising model described by the most general Hamiltonian with up-down symmetry, −βHij{JS i S j +KS 2 i S 2 j +LS 3 i S 3 j +M/2(S i S 3 j +S j S 3 i )}−ΔΣi S 2 i , is investigated on a square lattice. It is shown that this model is reducible to an eight-vertex model on a surface in the parameter space spanned by the coupling constants J, K, L, and M. It is shown that this model is equivalent to an exactly solvable free fermion model along two lines in the parameter space. Consequently, the critical behavior and, in particular, the critical temperature for the second-order phase transitions of the model is found exactly. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor. The magnetization of a cylindrical Ising nano-tube is investigated by the use of the effective field theory with correlations. The effects of the crystal field couplings at the surface shell to the order parameters, susceptibility, internal energy, specific heat and free energy are investigated. Some characteristic phenomena are examined in the thermal variations, depending on crystal field term. Moreover, tricritical and critical points are found on the (D/J,kT/J) plane, where D/J and kT/J are reduced crystal-field and temperature, respectively.  相似文献

We calculate the dynamic phase transition (DPT) temperatures and present the dynamic phase diagrams in the kinetic mixed spin-1/2 and spin-5/2 Ising model under the presence of a time-dependent oscillating external magnetic field. We employ the Glauber transition rates to construct the set of mean-field dynamic equations. The time variation of the average magnetizations and the thermal behavior of the dynamic magnetizations are investigated, extensively. The nature (continuous or discontinuous) of the transitions is characterized by studying the thermal behaviors of the dynamic magnetizations. The DPT points are obtained and the phase diagrams are presented in two different planes. Phase diagrams contain four fundamental phases and three coexistence or mixed phases, which strongly depend on interaction parameters. The phase diagrams are discussed and a comparison is made with the results of the other mixed spin Ising systems.  相似文献

An effective-field theory with correlations is developed for a mixed spin-1 and spin-3/2 Ising system with two alternative layers of a honeycomb lattice. Spin-1 atoms and spin-3/2 atoms are distributed in alternative layers of a honeycomb lattice. We consider that the nearest-neighbor spins of each layer are coupled ferromagnetically and the interaction between the vertically aligned spins and adjacent spins are coupled either ferromagnetically or antiferromagnetically depending on the sign of the bilinear exchange interactions. We investigate the temperature dependence of the total magnetization to find the compensation points and to determine the type of compensation behavior. We present the phase diagrams in different planes for h=0, and the phase diagrams contain the paramagnetic, nonmagnetic and ferrimagnetic phases. The system also presents a tricritical behavior besides multicritical point (A), isolated critical point (C) and double critical end point (B) depending on the interaction parameters.  相似文献
