Quantum communication between N partners and Bell's inequalities   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We consider a family of quantum communication protocols involving N partners. We demonstrate the existence of a link between the security of these protocols against individual attacks by the eavesdropper, and the violation of some Bell's inequalities, generalizing the link that was noticed some years ago for two-partners quantum cryptography. The arguments are independent of the local hidden variable debate.  相似文献

A quantum particle which is confined to the interior of a box with infinitely high but periodically oscillating walls can have an unusual semiclassical limit: For the special case of a one-dimensional linear wall motion we show that the semiclassical domain corresponds to a classical motion in phase space where the initial momentum depends on the particle's position in the box. Another result is that quantum states which correspond to classical cycle-1 fixed points have maximum stability against the boundary induced perturbation (caused by the moving wall). Higher cycle-n fixed points are calculated by numerical bookkeeping up to n = 20. The classical motion is marginally stable. We show how a slight change in the boundary condition will lead to chaotic motion.  相似文献

We show how to achieve subwavelength diffraction and imaging with classical light, previously thought to require quantum fields. By correlating wave vector and frequency in a narrow band, multiphoton detection process that uses Doppleron-type resonances, we show how to achieve arbitrary focal and image plane patterning with classical laser light at submultiples of the Rayleigh limit, with high efficiency, visibility, and spatial coherence. A frequency-selective measurement process thus allows one to simulate, semiclassically, the path-number correlations that distinguish a quantum entangled field.  相似文献

The paper shows that the Wigner distribution function of quantum optical coherent states, or of a superposition of such states, can be produced and measured with a classical optical set-up using classical coherent light fields. This measurement cannot be done directly in quantum optics since the quantum phase space variables correspond to non-commuting operators. As an example, the Wigner distribution function of Schrödinger cat states of light has been measured. It is also shown that the possibility of measuring the Wigner distribution function of quantum coherent states with classical coherent fields is unique in the sense that it cannot be extended to other quantum states, not even to the incoherent limit of the superposition of coherent states.  相似文献

Entanglement witnesses such as Bell inequalities are frequently used to prove the nonclassicality of a light source and its suitability for further tasks. By demonstrating Bell inequality violations using classical light in common experimental arrangements, we highlight why strict locality and efficiency conditions are not optional, particularly in security-related scenarios.  相似文献

Bell's inequalities are always derived assuming that local hidden-variable theories give a set of positive-definite probabilities for detecting a particle with a given spin orientation. The usual claim is that quantum mechanics, by its very nature, cannot produce a set of such probabilities. We show that this is not the case if one allows for generalized (nonpositive-definite) master probability distributions. The master distributions give the usual quantum mechanical violation of Bell's inequalities. Consequences for the interpretation of quantum mechanics are discussed.  相似文献

We demonstrate an optical scheme involving two interlinked nonlinear interactions taking place simultaneously in a second-order nonlinear crystal. The three-mode output state is fully inseparable and endowed with perfect photon-number correlations among the generated fields. In order to discriminate between classical and quantum correlations we evaluate the quantum noise reduction, i.e. compare the fluctuations of the difference photocurrent between one mode and the sum of the other two with those coming from three uncorrelated coherent states. Preliminary results indicate that our scheme may achieve three-mode sub-shot noise correlations with current technology.  相似文献

Sub-Poissonian light in the third-harmonic generation process is studied numerically and analytically. Special regime exhibiting the time-stable maximum sub-Poissonian behaviour with the Fano factorF ≈ 0.81 is found and analyzed. Theoretical prediction of the Fano factor and explanation of the extraordinary time stability of the sub-Poissonian behaviour are given using the semiclassical method of classical trajectories.  相似文献

It is shown that the large-N limit of quantum chromodynamics in twodimensions is determined by classical equations with boundary conditions. The nonperturbative quantum spectrum of mesonic bound states is obtained from a classical equation with a simple N-dependent boundary condition on the local charge density. The simplicity of the classical correspondence is shown to be directly tied to the simplicity of the space of gauge invariant operators of the theory. We investigate the relation between Bell's inequalities and nonlocal games by presenting a systematic method for their bilateral conversion. In particular, we show that while to any nonlocal game there naturally corresponds a unique Bell's inequality, the converse is not true. As an illustration of the method we present a number of nonlocal games that admits better odds when played using quantum resources.  相似文献

Conditional homodyne detection is proposed as an extension of the intensity correlation technique introduced by Hanbury-Brown and Twiss [Nature (London) 177, 27 (1956)]. It detects giant quadrature amplitude fluctuations for weakly squeezed light, violating a classical bound by orders of magnitude. Fluctuations of both quadrature amplitudes are anomalously large. A review of the tomographic probability representation for qudit sates is presented. Properties of related stochastic matrices are considered. Tomograms of two qubits and three qubits are used to study the Bell-type inequalities. The Bell-type inequalities in the standard classical probability theory are discussed. Under weak technical assumptions on a net of local von Neumann algebras {A(O)} in a Hilbert space , which are fulfilled by any net associated to a quantum field satisfying the standard axioms, it is shown that for every vector state in there exist observables localized in complementary wedge-shaped regions in Minkowski space-time that maximally violate Bell's inequalities in the state . If, in addition, the algebras corresponding to wedge-shaped regions are injective (which is known to be true in many examples), then the maximal violation occurs in any state on () given by a density matrix.  相似文献
