The production of low-dimensional nanoparticles (NPs) with appropriate surface modification has attracted increasing attention in biological, biochemical, and environmental applications including chemical sensing, photocatalytic degradation, separation, and purification of toxic molecules from the matrices. In this study, iron oxide NPs have been prepared by hydrothermal method using ferric chloride and urea in aqueous medium under alkaline condition (pH 9 ~ 10). As-grown low-dimensional NPs have been characterized by UV–vis spectroscopy, FT-IR, X-ray diffraction, Field emission scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, High-resolution Transmission electron microscopy, and Electron Diffraction System. The uniformity of the NPs size was measured by the scanning electron microscopy, while the single phase of the nanocrystalline β-Fe2O3 was characterized using powder X-ray diffraction technique. As-grown NPs were extensively applied for the photocatalytic degradation of acridine orange (AO) and electrochemical sensing of ammonia in liquid phase. Almost 50% photo-catalytic degradation with AO was observed in the presence of UV sources (250 W) with NPs. β-Fe2O3 NP-coated gold electrodes (GE, surface area 0.0216 cm2) have enhanced ammonia-sensing performances in their electrical response (IV characterization) for detecting ammonia in liquid phase. The performances of chemical sensor were investigated, and the results exhibited that the sensitivity, stability, and reproducibility of the sensor improved significantly using β-Fe2O3 NPs on GE surface. The sensitivity was approximately 0.5305 ± 0.02 μAcm−2mM−1, with a detection limit of 21.8 ± 0.1 μM, based on a signal/noise ratio of 3 with short response time.  相似文献

Samples of high-temperature superconducting oxide EuBa2Cu3O6 + δ (Eu-123) with total cationic composition Eu: Ba: Cu = 1: 2: 3 are investigated by means of local X-ray microanalysis and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The cationic nonstoichiometry of Eu-123 oxide is revealed. The particles of the studied samples are inhomogeneous in structure on the nanoscale, with two types of inhomogeneities: one with typical sizes of one to several nanometers, and one with typical sizes of 10 to 20 nm, respectively.  相似文献

A method has been developed for fabricating nanoporous matrices based on anodic aluminum oxide for the deposition of ferromagnetic nanoparticles in them. The modes of deposition of strontium ferromolybdate thin films prepared by the ion-plasma method have been worked out, and the magnetic and magnetoresistive properties, structure, and composition of the films have been investigated. It has been revealed that the microstructure and properties of the strontium ferromolybdate films deposited by ionplasma sputtering depend on the deposition rate and the temperature of the substrate. Based on the measurement of the electrical resistivity of nanoheterostructures in a magnetic field, it has been found that the magnetoresistance reaches 14% at T = 15 K and B = 8 T, which is due to the manifestation of tunneling magnetoresistance.  相似文献

Magnetic properties, arising from surface exchange and interparticle interactions of the Fe3O4 (magnetite) nanoparticles, were investigated in the temperature range of 5–300 and 120–300 K using vibrating sample magnetometer technique and electron spin resonance spectroscopy, respectively. The research was based on to figure out the origin of intraparticle interactions and the change of interparticle interactions in wide size range Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The analyses were done for samples having almost same particle size distributions. The average particle sizes were changed in between 30 ± 2 and 34 ± 2 nm. The observed magnetization values were demonstrated the mixture of single-domain size particles, exhibiting both single-domain (SD) and superparamagnetic (SPM) states. The symmetry of resonance curves changed according to the ratio of SD and SPM-stated particles in mixture under located temperature. The changes of anisotropy up to domain state were understood by freezing magnetic moment in glycerol matrix from room temperature to 120 K under 5-kG field. The shift of H R values to higher magnetic fields and the more symmetric resonance spectrum proved the effect of anisotropy and interparticle interactions fields on magnetic behave. In addition, the origin of intra-interaction was exposed from Fe3+ centers and exchange coupling in between Fe2+, Fe3+, and O, and Fe3+ centers found from g factor (g).  相似文献

We report KF-doping work on the recently found ferroelectric material BaTi2O5. The ceramic samples, Ba1-xKxTi2O5-xFx, were synthesized by solid-state reaction of mixed KF and sol–gel-derived BaTi2O5 powders at 1150 °C. An almost pure phase was obtained for nominal composition x≤0.097, while electron probe microanalysis indicated that the real incorporated K and F contents were less than half of the nominal values. It was observed that KF-doping is beneficial in enhancing the ceramic density to some extent, which is a key issue in sol–gel-derived BaTi2O5 ceramics, due to a possible liquid-phase sintering mechanism through the presence of melted KF at the sintering temperature. Scanning electron microscopy images showed that these porous ceramic samples are composed of sub-micron-sized powder aggregates which, with increasing KF-doping, undergo further agglomeration. Dielectric measurement from room temperature to ∼ 560 °C showed a broad ferroelectric phase transition, with TC ∼ 430 °C for the undoped sample. As KF-doping increases, TC decreases, and the magnitude of the dielectric constant maximum also displays a decreasing trend. The strongly reduced dielectric response can be partly understood by regarding the porous ceramic sample as a composite material composed of bulk BaTi2O5 and air, where the porosity has a significant influence on the effective dielectric constant. The magnetic properties of magnesium–iron spinel (MgFe2O4) powdered nanoparticles obtained by glycine–nitrate synthesis are investigated by X-ray phase analysis and the NMR method. According to the results of X-ray phase analysis, the average size of the crystalline part of nanoparticles of the powder under investigation is 45 ± 4 nm. Magnetization J is determined using the formula J = (B/μ0)–H, where B and H are the induction and strength of the magnetic field in the sample, which are measured by the NMR method. The magnetic characteristics of MgFe2O4 are as follows: specific saturation magnetization Jsat = 17.52 A m2/kg, specific residual magnetization Jr = 5.73 A m2/kg, coercive force Hc = 4600 A/m, and magnetic moment Psat = 371 × 10–20 A m2 in the magnetic saturation state and Pr = 121 × 10–20 A m2 in the residual magnetization state.  相似文献

Composite structures consisting of (001)-oriented SrTiO3 (STO)/La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) films of 30 nm thickness, grown on an (001) Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)TiO3– 28 mol.% PbTiO3 piezoelectric relaxor-ferroelectric single-crystalline wafer were investigated by means of Wide-Angle X-ray Diffraction (WAXRD) in situ under influence of a d.c. electric field with strength E up to ±18 kV/cm. The WAXRD measurements of the films and substrate reflection profiles resulted in a determination of the strain s in the films and the substrate separately. The strained state of the STO/LSMO films is effectively controlled by a huge converse piezoelectric effect of the PMN-PT substrate. The coefficients of coupling between electric-field-induced out-of-plane strain in the films and in the substrate for the composite system STO/LSMO/PMN-PT are obtained.  相似文献

The production of monodispersed magnetic nanoparticles with appropriate surface modification has attracted increasing attention in biomedical applications including drug delivery, separation, and purification of biomolecules from the matrices. In the present study, we report rapid and room temperature reaction synthesis of gold-coated iron nanoparticles in aqueous solution using the borohydride reduction of HAuCl4 under sonication for the first time. The resulting nanoparticles were characterized with transmission electron microscopy (TEM), electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA), ultraviolet visible spectroscopy (UV–Vis), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Surface charges and magnetic properties of the nanoparticles were also examined. The pattern of Fe3O4 nanoparticles is face centered cubic with an average diameter of 9.5 nm and the initial reduction of gold on the surface of Fe3O4 particles exhibits uniform Fe3O4–Au nanoparticles with an average diameter of 12.5 nm. The saturation magnetization values for the uncoated and gold-coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles were found to be 30 and 4.5 emu/g, respectively, at 300 K. The progression of binding events between boronic acid terminated ligand shell and fructose based on the covalent bonding interaction was measured by absorbance spectral changes. Immunomagnetic separation was also performed at different E. coli concentration to evaluate capturing efficiency of resulting nanoparticles. Immunomagnetic separation percentages were varied in a range of 52.1 and 21.9% depend on the initial bacteria counts.  相似文献

A series of glasses [(TeO2) x (B2O3)1−x ]1−y [Ag2O] y with x = 70 and y = 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 mol% were synthesised by rapid quenching. Longitudinal and shear ultrasonic velocity were measured at room temperature and at 5 MHz frequency. Elastic properties, Poisson's ratio, microhardness, softening temperature and Debye temperature have been calculated from the measured density and ultrasonic velocity at room temperature. The experimental results indicate that the elastic constants depend upon the composition of the glasses and the role of the Ag2O inside the glass network is discussed. Estimated parameters based on Makishima–Mackenzie theory and bond compression model were calculated in order to analyse the experimental elastic moduli. Comparison between the experimental elastic moduli data obtained in the study and the calculated theoretically by the mentioned above models has been discussed.  相似文献

The structural characteristics, valence states, and distribution of cerium ions between the components in In2O3–CeO2 and SnO2–CeO2 nanocomposites fabricated using the impregnation method were studied. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) were used to show that, during impregnation, cerium ions are not included into In2O3 crystals and are disposed only on their surface in the form of nano-sized crystallites or amorphous clusters. On the other side, under the contact of CeO2 clusters with a surface of SnO2 matrix crystals, cerium ions penetrate into the surface layer of these crystals. In contrast to an In2O3–CeO2 system, where the addition of CeO2 does not affect the conduction activation energy, where cerium oxide is added to SnO2, the observed increase in the resistance of a SnO2–CeO2 composite is accompanied by a sufficient increase in activation energy. These data and the XPS spectra confirm the modification of the surface layers of conductive SnO2 crystals as, a result of the penetration of cerium ions into these layers.  相似文献

The formation of an intermediate phase in SrFe12O19/La0.9Ca0.1MnO3 composites was demonstrated for the first time using only Mössbauer spectroscopy. The SrFe12O19/La0.9Ca0.1MnO3 composite was prepared by the two-stage (sol–gel and hydrothermal) synthesis with varying initial conditions. The X-ray diffraction studies showed that the composite consisted of two phases: well-formed structures of manganite La0.9Ca0.1MnO3 and hexagonal ferrite SrFe12O19. It was found that nanocrystalline La0.9Ca0.1MnO3 particles with size d ? 150 nm formed in the composites at the surface of plate-like SrFe12O19 crystallites. The Mössbauer studies showed that the composite contained additional (intermediate) phase La0.9Ca0.1Mn(Fe)O3 that formed at the interface between SrFe12O19 and La0.9Ca0.1MnO3 phases. The intermediate phase concentration increased with the molar content of La0.9Ca0.1MnO3; in this case, the fraction of the surface of SrFe12O19 crystallites coated with La0.9Ca0.1MnO3 increased, which led to the increase in the total area of the interface surface and the intermediate phase concentration.  相似文献

CdS/α-Fe2O3 hierarchical nanostructures, where the CdS nanorods grow irregularly on the side surface of α-Fe2O3 nanorods, were synthesized via a three-step process. The diameters and lengths of CdS nanorods can be tuned by changing the ethylenediamine (EDA) and Cd ion concentrations. The magnetic investigations by superconducting quantum interference device indicate that the hierarchical nanostructures have an Morin transition at lower temperature (230 K) than that of the single bulk α-Fe2O3 materials (263 K). Importantly, the hierarchical nanostructures exhibit weakly ferromagnetic characteristics at 300 K. A sharp peak assigned to the surface trap induced emission are observed in room temperature PL spectra. Combining with the optoelectronic properties of CdS, the CdS/α-Fe2O3 hierarchical nanostructures may be used as multi-functional materials for optoelectronic and magnetic devices. Features of the formation of lead-ferroniobate compounds in the xBaCO3–(1 – x)PbO–Fe2O3–Nb2O5 system by solid-phase synthesis are investigated. For perovskite-type lead-ferroniobate solid solution, a single-phase concentration region is revealed at 1233 K. The crystalline structures of the synthesized compounds are refined using Rietveld analysis and the Pm3?m and R3m space groups. Ceramic samples of lead ferroniobate are studied by scanning electron microscopy.  相似文献

High field electrical switching on blown films of MoO3(60%)–P2O5(40%), MoO3(50%)–WO3(10%)–P2O5(40%), and MoO3(45%)–WO3(15%)–P2O5(40%) having different thicknesses was studied and compared. Switching was observed using two terminal samples. S-type current–voltage characteristic (current-controlled negative resistance—CCNR) with memory was observed in molybdenum–phosphate glasses, but N-type characteristic (voltage-controlled negative resistance—VCNR) with threshold in tungsten–molybdenum–phosphate glasses was observed. The important observation was that with the addition of WO3 to binary MoO3–P2O5 led to a change of IV characteristic from CCNR with memory to VCNR with threshold. The measurements of density and molar volume showed linear relation between MoO3 content and density which decreased with the increase of MoO3 content. The samples’ thickness had no significant effect on threshold voltage. The attained results also indicated that the electrode material had no effect on switching property of devices. The switching behavior of the devices did not show any dependence on the polarity of the applied voltage. In terms of the effect of heat on the switching behavior of molybdenum–phosphate glasses, it was found that threshold voltage decreases with increasing of temperature. Finally, the switching phenomenon was explained by thermal (formation of crystalline filaments) and electronic models.  相似文献

Composite solid electrolytes in the system (1???x)Li2CO3xAl2O3, with x?=?0.0–0.5 (mole), were synthesized by a sol–gel method. The synthesis carried out at low temperature resulted in voluminous and fluffy products. The obtained materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry, scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive X-ray, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and AC impedance spectroscopy. Structural analysis of the samples showed an amorphous feature of Li2CO3 and traces of α-LiAlO2, γ-LiAlO2 and LiAl5O8. The prepared composite samples possess high ionic conductivities at 130–180 °C on account of the presence of lithium aluminates as well as the formation of a high concentration of an amorphous phase of Li2CO3 via this sol–gel preparative technique.  相似文献

The structural and the thermodynamic properties of potassium nitrate KNO3 and its composites with nanosized aluminum oxide Al2O3 have been studied by differential scanning calorimetry. It has been found that an amorphous phase forms in composites (1–x)KNO3–xAl2O3. The thermal effect corresponding to this phase has been observed at 316°C. It has been found that the phase transition heats of potassium nitrate decreased as the aluminum oxide fraction increased.  相似文献

The phase composition, microstructure, and dielectric, ferroelectric, magnetic, and magnetoelectric properties of bulk ceramic (1 – x)PZT–xNiFe1.9Co0.02О4 – δ composites with 3–0 connectivity have been studied. Using X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy, it has been established that the ferrimagnetic (spinel- like) and ferroelectric (tetragonal perovskite-like) phases separately exist in the composites of all compositions. The simultaneous existence of ferroelectric and ferrimagnetic properties in the composites is confirmed by measuring their P(E) and σ(B) hysteresis loops and studying the temperature dependences of dielectric and magnetic properties. The synthesized composites have high magnetoelectric characteristics: their voltage coefficient at x = 0.4 is 215 mV/A at a frequency of 1 kHz and 130 V/A at an electromechanical resonance frequency of 380 kHz.  相似文献

The Co3O4 @ phenol formaldehyde resin (PFR) cube-like nanocomposites are prepared by one-step hydrothermal process at 120–180 °C for 3–9 h. Co(NO3)2·6H2O, hexamethylenetetramine (HMT), and phenol are used as precursors in water solvent. Any adventitious oxidants and additives are not presented. The transmission/scanning electronic microscope (TEM, SEM) images show as-obtained typical samples are consisted of cube-like Co3O4 as core and PFR as shell. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) data indicate the samples are consisted of cube-phase Co3O4 with amorphous PFR. Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR) further confirm Co3O4 and PFR are contained in the samples. Room-temperature vibration magnetic strength measurements (VMS) indicate that the antiferromagnetic properties of core–shell nanocomposites evidently differ from the naked-Co3O4 nanoparticles.  相似文献

Magnetic nanoparticles of magnetite Fe3O4 and Fe synthesized by physical vapor deposition with a fast highly effective method using a solar energy have been studied. Targets have been prepared from tablets pressed from Fe3O4 or Fe powders. Relationships between the structure of nanoparticles and their magnetic properties have been investigated in order to understand principles of the control of the parameters of magnetic nanoparticles. Mössbauer investigations have revealed that the nanoparticles synthesized from tablets of both pure iron and Fe3O4 consist of two phases: pure iron and iron oxides (γ-Fe2O3 and Fe3O4). The high iron oxidability suggests that the synthesized nanoparticles have a core/shell structure, where the core is pure iron and the shell is an oxidized iron layer. Magnetite nanoparticles synthesized at a pressure of 80 Torr have the best parameters for hyperthermia due to their core/shell structure and core-to-shell volume ratio.  相似文献
