We address the topology of the set of singularities of a solution to a Hamilton–Jacobi equation. For this, we will apply the idea of the first two authors (Cannarsa and Cheng, Generalized characteristics and Lax–Oleinik operators: global result, preprint, arXiv:1605.07581, 2016) to use the positive Lax–Oleinik semi-group to propagate singularities.  相似文献

It is shown that solutions of the Neumann problem for the Poisson equation in an arbitrary convex n-dimensional domain are uniformly Lipschitz. Let (ℋ t ) t≥0 be the Ornstein–Uhlenbeck semigroup on ℝ d with covariance matrix I and drift matrix λ(RI), where λ>0 and R is a skew-adjoint matrix, and denote by γ the invariant measure for (ℋ t ) t≥0. Semigroups of this form are the basic building blocks of Ornstein–Uhlenbeck semigroups which are normal on L 2(γ ). We prove that if the matrix R generates a one-parameter group of periodic rotations, then the maximal operator ℋ* f(x)=sup  to |ℋ t f(x)| is of weak type 1 with respect to the invariant measure γ . We also prove that the maximal operator associated to an arbitrary normal Ornstein–Uhlenbeck semigroup is bounded on L p (γ ) if and only if 1<p≤∞.   相似文献

We discuss a symplectic counterpart of the theory of stacky fans. First, we define a stacky polytope and construct the symplectic Deligne–Mumford stack associated to the stacky polytope. Then we establish a relation between stacky polytopes and stacky fans: the stack associated to a stacky polytope is equivalent to the stack associated to a stacky fan if the stacky fan corresponds to the stacky polytope.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the action of the -cohomology of the compact dual of a compact Shimura Variety S() on the -cohomology of S()> under a cup product. We use this to split the cohomology of S() into a direct sum of (not necessarily irreducible) -Hodge structures. As an application, we prove that for the class of arithmetic subgroups of the unitary groups U(p,q) arising from Hermitian forms over CM fields, the Mumford–Tate groups associated to certain holomorphic cohomology classes on S() are Abelian. As another application, we show that all classes of Hodge type (1,1) in H2 of unitary four-folds associated to the group U(2,2) are algebraic.  相似文献

Let X be a space of homogenous type and ψ: X × [0,∞) → [0,∞) be a growth function such that ψ(·,t) is a Muckenhoupt weight uniformly in t and ψ(x,·) an Orlicz function of uniformly upper type 1 and lower type p ∈(0,1].In this article,the authors introduce a new Musielak–Orlicz BMO-type space BMOψA(X) associated with the generalized approximation to the identity,give out its basic properties and establish its two equivalent characterizations,respectively,in terms of the spaces BMOψA,max(X) and BMOψA(X).Moreover,two variants of the John–Nirenberg inequality on BMOψA(X) are obtained.As an application,the authors further prove that the space BMOψΔ1/2(Rn),associated with the Poisson semigroup of the Laplace operator Δ on Rn,coincides with the space BMOψ(Rn) introduced by Ky.  相似文献

We study the dynamics of a massive pointlike particle coupled to gravity in four space–time dimensions. It has the same degrees of freedom as an ordinary particle: its coordinates with respect to a chosen origin (observer) and the canonically conjugate momenta. The effect of gravity is that such a particle is a black hole: its momentum becomes spacelike at a distances to the origin less than the Schwarzschild radius. This happens because the phase space of the particle has a nontrivial structure: the momentum space has curvature, and this curvature depends on the position in the coordinate space. The momentum space curvature in turn leads to the coordinate operator in quantum theory having a nontrivial spectrum. This spectrum is independent of the particle mass and determines the accessible points of space–time.  相似文献

Let (R, m) be a Cohen–Macaulay local ring, and let ? = {F i } i∈? be an F 1-good filtration of ideals in R. If F 1 is m-primary we obtain sufficient conditions in order that the associated graded ring G(?) be Cohen–Macaulay. In the case where R is Gorenstein, we use the Cohen–Macaulay result to establish necessary and sufficient conditions for G(?) to be Gorenstein. We apply this result to the integral closure filtration ? associated to a monomial parameter ideal of a polynomial ring to give necessary and sufficient conditions for G(?) to be Gorenstein. Let (R, m) be a Gorenstein local ring, and let F 1 be an ideal with ht(F 1) = g > 0. If there exists a reduction J of ? with μ(J) = g and reduction number u: = r J (?), we prove that the extended Rees algebra R′(?) is quasi-Gorenstein with a-invariant b if and only if J n : F u  = F n+b?u+g?1 for every n ∈ ?. To any right comodule coalgebra C over a Hopf algebra H we associate a left H-comodule algebra A. Under certain conditions, in particular in the case where H has nonzero integrals, we show that the category of right C, H-comodules is isomorphic to a certain subcategory of the category of Doi–Hopf modules associated to A. This article is a continuation of our work on a linear fluid–structure interaction model [Grobbelaar-Van Dalsen, On a fluid–structure model in which the dynamics of the structure involves the shear stress due to the fluid, J. Math. Fluid Mech. 10(3) (2008), pp. 388–401; Grobbelaar-Van Dalsen, Strong stability for a fluid––structure model, Math. Methods Appl. Sci., 32(2009) pp. 1452–1466]. The model describes the interaction between a 3-D incompressible fluid and a 2-D plate, the interface, which coincides with a flat flexible part of the surface of the vessel containing the fluid. The mathematical model comprises the Stokes equations and the equations for the longitudinal deflections of the plate with the inclusion of the shear stress that the fluid exerts on the plate. A dissipative damping mechanism of Kelvin–Voigt type is applied to the interior of the plate. While our earlier work shows that weak solutions in a space of finite energy are strongly asymptotically stable under no-slip transmission conditions at the interface with uniform exponential stability only attainable under an additional domination condition, the present research is directed at achieving uniform exponential stability of weak solutions without imposing the domination condition. Using energy methods we establish uniform exponential decay under a modified transmission condition at the interface. This condition entails that the fluid velocity at the interface is coupled to a linear combination of the plate velocity and displacement.  相似文献

Proper asset allocations are vital for property–casualty insurers to be competitive and solvent. Theories of finance offer little practical guidance in constructing such asset allocations however. This research integrates simulation models with a newly developed evolutionary algorithm for the multi-period asset allocation problem of a property–casualty insurer. We first construct a simulation model to simulate operations of a property–casualty insurer. Then we develop multi-phase evolution strategies (MPES) to be used with the simulation model to search for promising asset allocations for the insurer. A thorough experiment is conducted to evaluate the performance of our simulation optimization approach. Computational results show that MPES is an effective search algorithm. It dominates the grid search method by a significant margin. The re-allocation strategy resulting from MPES outperforms re-balancing strategies significantly. This research further demonstrates that the simulation optimization approach can be used to study economic issues related to multi-period asset allocation problems in practical settings.  相似文献

In this paper, the equivalence between multi-valued maps satisfying the Mizoguchi-Takahashi’s uniformly locally contractive condition and multi-valued maps satisfying the Nadler’s uniformly locally contractive condition is obtained on metrically convex space. We define a finite Borel measure of Gibbs type, supported by the Sobolev spaces of negative indexes on the circle. The measure can be seen as a limit of finite dimensional measures. These finite dimensional measures are invariant by the ODE’s which correspond to the projection of the Benjamin–Ono equation, posed on the circle, on the first N, N ≥ 1 modes in the trigonometric bases.  相似文献
