Counterpoise-corrected potential energy surfaces of simple H-bonded systems   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Geometries and stabilization energies of various simple H-bonded complexes (water dimer, hydrogen fluoride dimer, formamide dimer, formic acid dimer) have been determined by a gradient optimization that eliminates the basis set superposition error (BSSE) by the counterpoise (CP) method in each gradient cycle as well as by the standard gradient optimization. Both optimization methods lead to different potential energy surfaces (PES). The difference depends on the theoretical level used and is larger if correlation energy is considered. Intermolecular distances from the CP-corrected PES are consistently longer, and this difference might be significant (∼0.1 ?); also angular characteristics determined from both surfaces differ significantly. Different geometries were obtained even when passing to larger basis sets (aug-cc-pVDZ). The standard optimization procedure can result in a completely wrong structure. For example, the “quasi-linear” structure of the (HF)2 (global minimum) does not exist at the standard MP2/ 6-31G** PES (where only cyclic structure was detected) and is found only at the CP-corrected PES. Stabilization energies obtained from the CP-corrected PES are always larger than these from the standard PES where the BSSE is added only a posteriori for the final optimized structure; both energies converge only when passing to a larger basis set (aug-cc-pVDZ).  β-sialon ceramics sintered with yttria additives have been studied with the use of an electron probe X-ray analysis (EPMA). Sialon ceramics were prepared from a carbothermally derived β-sialon powder and then sintered in a nitrogen atmosphere with yttria admixture. The above process was followed by annealing in flowing nitrogen. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) observations have shown that the sintered material contains a glassy phase (Y-Si-Al-O-N) on the grain boundaries. X-ray diffraction (XRD) after annealing in nitrogen revealed the presence of a considerable amount of yttrium aluminium garnet (YAG). The higher voltage of 30 kV was used in order to excite the yttrium Kα radiation (14.96 keV) at an appropriate overvoltage ratio because in some phases of the material, the disappearance of the yttrium Lα line has been observed during EPMA examination at an accelerating voltage of 15 kV in energy dispersive spectra (EDS). The intensity of the yttrium Kα line was sufficiently high, while the Y Lα line was not seen in the ED spectrum. Because the position of the yttrium Lα line (1.922 keV) is very close to the Si (K) absorption edge (1.84 keV), the strong absorption at this edge is probably responsible for the effect. This result should be considered as a serious warning in the case of EPMA (EDS) studies on compounds or mixtures suspected to contain both silicon and yttrium, because at electrons energies lower than 15 keV, the presence of yttrium in materials can go unnoticed. In wavelength dispersive spectra (WDS) obtained at 15 keV the intensity of the yttrium Lα line was also very low but measurable.  相似文献

 Electrorheological behavior of silicone oil suspensions of macroporous poly[(glycidyl methacrylate)-co-(ethylene dimethacrylate)]) (0.60 : 0.40 w) hydrolyzed to various degrees was investigated. Polarizability of particles expressed by the particle dipole coefficient and, consequently, pseudoplasticity of the system at low shear rates after application of an external electric field steeply increased with the hydrolysis degree of the copolymer. As the size and shape of particles remain unchanged during hydrolysis, a series of model suspensions with the same hydrodynamic properties (Newtonian or slightly pseudoplastic when no electric field was applied) but with different intensity of the electrorheological effect could be prepared. Under these conditions, the use of Mason number failed to correlate the apparent viscosity of suspensions of particles with different polarizability in the electric field. On the other hand, when polarizability of particles of a suspension system changes due to a higher temperature, a single curve in the plot of apparent viscosity vs. the Mason number could be obtained. Quantitative micro-PIXE and electron microprobe analyses, as well as micro-PIXE compositional mapping of trace elements were performed on monazite [(Ce, La, Nd, Th)PO4] inclusions in pyrope megablasts from Dora Maira Massif, Western Italian Alps for petrological and geochronological purposes. Monazite was studied by SEM-BSE imaging and by X-ray qualitative compositional maps of major elements; further WDS electron microprobe analyses were carried out in areas showing different BSE intensity in order to quantify chemical zoning. Finally, micro-PIXE compositional maps and quantitative analyses were performed on selected spots and areas. EPMA data indicate that the Dora Maira monazite is Ce- and Th-rich with homogeneous concentrations of LREE, but with a significantly heterogeneous distribution of Th, as well as of Y, Sr, U and Pb as displayed by micro-PIXE compositional mapping. HREE mostly occur in concentrations below the detection limit for standard quantitative EPMA. Th–U–Pb zoning suggests two monazite growth events, dated at 35 (±7 Ma) and 60 Ma (±10 Ma), respectively. While the younger age of 35 Ma found in high-Th monazite areas corresponds to the thermal and baric peak of the UHP metamorphism in the Dora Maira Massif, in agreement with previous literature data, the older ages of 60 Ma found in low-Th areas have to be confirmed by U–Th–Pb isotopic data.  相似文献

 Compositional characterization of metal-DLC (metal-containing diamond-like carbon) hard coatings is carried out by (WDS)-EPMA and MCs+-SIMS. EPMA enables accurate (± 5% relative) quantitative analysis including minor concentrations (0.1–10 at%) of N, O and Ar. Under conditions of “near-surface” EPMA (E0 < 10 keV) the influence of surface oxide films on “pure” metal standards may be a limiting factor in respect of accuracy. Depth profiling of sufficiently “thick” layered structures (film thickness ≥ 2 μm) is carried out by EPMA-line scans along mechanically prepared bevels. The depth resolution is about 0.2 μm. SIMS in the MCs+-mode enables high resolution (< 20 nm) depth profiling of metal-DLC layered structures including the determination of H (1–20 at%). MCs+-SIMS, i.e. employing Cs+ primary ions and monitoring MCs+ molecular secondary ions (M is the element of interest) is presented as a promising route towards sufficiently accurate (10–20%) SIMS-quantification. Matrix-independent relative sensitivity factors for MCs+-SIMS are derived from homogeneous coating materials defined by EPMA. EPMA proves to be also useful to detect problems related to SIMS of Ar in metal-DLC materials. The combination EPMA-SIMS is demonstrated as an effective analytical strategy for quality control in industrial production and to support the development of metal DLC layered structures with optimum tribological properties.  相似文献

 The fungicide triadimenol consists of a mixture of two diastereoisomers. Diastereoisomer A (1RS,2SR) could be obtained from the mixture by fractionated crystallization from ethanol/water and toluene, successively, whereas diastereoisomer B (1RS,2RS) could be separated by column chromatography on a silica gel column using ethylacetate as eluent. Four different crystal forms of diastereoisomer A could be derived. The modifications were characterized by means of thermal analysis (thermomicroscopy, DSC), FTIR-spectroscopy, FT-Raman-spectroscopy and powder X-ray diffraction, as well as pycnometry. The thermodynamic relationships are illustrated in a semischematic energy/temperature-diagram which provides information about the relative thermodynamic stabilities and physical properties of the four crystal forms. Mod. II (m.p. 132 °C, ΔHf 33.1±0.2 kJ mol−1, density 1.271±0.001 g cm−3) was obtained from toluene after the separation of diastereoisomer A and is enantiotropically related to mod. I (m.p. 138 °C, ΔHf 32.0 ± 0.2 kJ mol−1, density 1.243±0.001 g cm−3). The transition point of mod. II with mod. I was determined between 30 and 40 °C, which means that mod. II is thermodynamically stable at ambient conditions. Mod. III (m.p. 112 °C, ΔHf 25.1±0.5 kJ mol−1) and mod. IV were obtained from the melt. Furthermore, the phase diagrams of the binary systems of diastereoisomer B and the four modifications of diastereoisomer A were calculated by means of the experimentally obtained thermodynamical data. Summary.  A new selective, sensitive, and simple kinetic method is developed for the determination of trace amounts of iodide. The method is based on the catalytic effect of iodide on the reaction of triflupromazine (TFP) with H2O2. The reaction is followed spectrophotometrically by tracing the oxidation product at 498 nm within 1 min after addition of H2O2. The optimum reaction conditions are TFP (0.4 × 10−3 M), H2SO4 (1.0M), H3PO4 (2.0M), and H2O2 (1.6M) at 30°C. Following this procedure, iodide can be determined with a linear calibration graph up to 4.5 ng ċ cm−3 and a detection limit of 0.04 ng ċ cm−3, based on the 3 Sb criterion. The method can also be applied to the determination of iodate and periodate ions. Determination of as little as 0.2, 1.0, 2.0, and 4.0 ng ċ cm−3 of I, IO3 -, or IO4 - in aqueous solutions gave an average recovery of 98% with relative standard deviations below 1.6% (n = 5). The method was applied to the determination of iodide in Nile river water and ground waters as well as in various food samples after alkaline ashing treatment.  Quantitative electron-probe microanalysis was used to determine the chemical composition of an Fe- and Nb-doped bismuth-based BaBi4Ti4O15 perovskite compound. Elemental concentrations of Fe, Nb, Bi, Ba and Ti were accurately measured using wavelength-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy that was optimised for the analysis of a complex oxide matrix containing minor concentrations of dopants. Measurements were performed with a JEOL JXA 840A electron probe microanalyser at 20 and 26 kV, 50 nA beam current, 100 s maximum counting time and 0.3% preset counting deviation (σc) using both PET and LiF crystals. K-ratios were quantified by the ZAF and the φ(ρz) PAP matrix-correction procedures. The results showed that dopants incorporate into the BaBi4Ti4O15 at Ti4 +  sites according to the Ba1−4XBi4 + 4XTi4−4XFe4XO15 and Ba1 + 4XBi4−4XTi4−4XNb4XO15 solid-solution formulae. The majority of the excess charge introduced by the substitution of Ti4 +  with Fe3 +  or Nb5 +  is compensated for the change in the Ba2 + /Bi3 +  ratio.  相似文献

The study covers a problem frequently encountered in the quantification of the results of wavelength-dispersive spectrometry (WDS) for the composition analysis of thin films. The characteristics of a Parallel Beam Spectrometer and traditional WDS systems were examined and olivine mineral – (Mg, Fe)2SiO4 (O – 44.03 wt%, Mg – 31.1 wt%, Si – 19.56 wt%, Fe – 5.06 wt%, Ni – 0.16 wt%, Mn – 0.09 wt%) was used as a reference material. Low accelerating voltage at 7 kV and beam current 400 nA were applied. Both methods yielded 30–35% of Mn. This is attributed to the overlapping of the MnLα first-order and the MgKα second-order lines. Studies of the influences of the second- and the third-order lines show that the second-order lines from Kα and Lα X-ray counts affected significantly the obtained WDS spectra when the influence of Mα counts was insignificant. Furthermore, the third-order lines did not have a marked effect on the analysis results.  相似文献

Summary.  The kinetics of the CrO(O2)2 formation by H2O2 and Cr2O7 2− in aqueous acidic media was measured at 293 ± 2 K in a pH range between 2.5 and 3.3. Using the stopped-flow method with rapid scan UV-VIS detection, the rate law of the formation of CrO(O2)2 was determined. For the media HClO4, HNO3 and CH3COOH, the reaction order in the Cr2O7 2− concentration was found to be 0.5. For [H2O2] as well as for [H+], the reaction was first order in all acids used. In HCl and H2SO4 media the reaction was first order in Cr2O7 2−. At T = 293 ± 2 K the rate constant for the formation of Cr(O)(O2)2 was found to be (7.3 ± 1.9) · 102 M−3/2 s−1 in HClO4. Summary.  Small plate-like single crystals of MgAlF5(H2O)2 have been obtained during hydrothermal treatment (270°C) of microcrystalline material prepared by precipitation of stoichiometric solutions of Al2(SO4)3 ·  18H2O and Mg(NO3)2 · 6H2O with diluted hydrofluoric acid. The crystal structure of MgAlF5(H2O)2 has been refined from single crystal data (Imma (# 74), Z = 4, a = 7.0637(7), b = 10.1308(10), c = 6.7745(7) ?, 398 structure factors, 33 parameters, R(F2 > σ(F 2)) = 0.0245, wR(F2 all) = 0.0525). Main features of the inverse weberite type structure are infinite chains of trans-bridged [AlF6] octahedra which are connected via common fluorine atoms by isolated [MgF4(H2O)2] octahedra. MgAlF5(H2O)2 dehydrates at temperatures above 300°C to give MgAlF5. XRPD analysis of this phase has revealed isotypism with FeAlF5. The crystal structure of MgAlF5 (Immm (# 71), Z = 2, a = 7.268(1), b = 6.123(2), c = 3.543(1) ?) is built of infinite chains of edge-sharing [MgF6] octahedra and chains of corner-sharing [AlF6] octahedra along [001]. Summary.  Solubility measurements as a function of temperature have been shown to be a powerful tool for the determination of thermodynamic properties of sparingly-soluble transition metal carbonates. In contrast to calorimetric methods, such as solution calorimetry or drop calorimetry, the evaluation of solubility data avoids many systematic errors, yielding the enthalpy of solution at 298.15 K with an estimated uncertainty of ±3 kJ · mol−1. A comprehensive set of thermodynamic data for otavite (CdCO3), smithsonite (ZnCO3), hydrozincite (Zn5(OH)6(CO3)2), malachite (Cu2(OH)2CO3), azurite (Cu3(OH)2(CO3)2), and siderite (FeCO3) was derived. Literature values for the standard enthalpy of formation of malachite and azurite were disproved by these solubility experiments, and revised values are recommended. In the case of siderite, data for the standard enthalpy of formation given by various data bases deviate from each other by more than 10 kJ · mol−1 which can be attributed to a discrepancy in the auxiliary data for the Fe2+ ion. A critical evaluation of solubility data from various literature sources results in an optimized value for the standard enthalpy of formation for siderite. The Davies approximation, the specific ion-interaction theory, and the Pitzer concept are used for the extrapolation of the solubility constants to zero ionic strength in order to obtain standard thermodynamic properties valid at infinite dilution, T = 298.15 K, and p = 105 Pa. In the present study, a new fluorescence microplate screening assay for evaluating scavenging activity against singlet oxygen (1O2) was implemented. The chemical generation of 1O2 was promoted using the thermodissociable endoperoxide of disodium 3,3′-(1,4-naphthalene)bispropionate (NDPO2). The detection of 1O2 was achieved using dihydrorhodamine 123 (DHR), a nonfluorescent molecule that is oxidizable to the fluorescent form rhodamine 123 (RH). The combined use of a 1O2-selective generator and a highly sensitive probe (DHR) was then successfully applied to perform a screening assay of the 1O2 scavenging activities of ascorbic acid, penicillamine, cysteine, N-acetylcysteine (NAC), methionine, reduced glutathione (GSH), dihydrolipoic acid, lipoic acid, and sodium azide. All of these antioxidants exhibited concentration-dependent 1O2 scavenging capacities. They could be ranked according to observed activity: ascorbic acid> cysteine> penicillamine> dihydrolipoic acid > GSH> NAC> sodium azide> lipoic acid (IC50 values of 3.0 ± 0.2, 8.0 ± 0.7, 10.9 ± 0.8, 25.2 ± 4.5, 57.4 ± 5.9, 138 ± 13, 1124 ± 128, 2775 ± 359 μM, mean±SEM, respectively) > methionine (35% of scavenging effect at 10 mM). In conclusion, the use of NDPO2 as a selective generator for 1O2 and its fluorescence detection by the highly sensitive probe DHR is shown to be a reliable and resourceful analytical alternative means to implement a microplate screening assay for scavenging activity against 1O2. Relativistic energy-consistent small-core lanthanide pseudopotentials of the Stuttgart–Bonn variety and extended valence basis sets have been used for the investigation of the dimers La2 and Lu2. It was found that the ground states for La2 and Lu2 are most likely 1 g + g 2π u 4) and 3 g (4f 144f 14σ g 2σ u 2πu 2), respectively. The molecular constants including error bars were derived from multireference configuration interaction as well as coupled-cluster calculations, taking into account corrections for atomic spin–orbit splitting as well as possible basis set superposition errors. The theoretical values for La2 (R e=2.70±0.03 ?, D e=2.31±0.13 eV, ωe=186±13 cm−1) show good agreement with the experimental binding energy (D e=2.52±0.22 eV), but the experimental vibrational constant in an Ar matrix (ωe=236±0.8 cm−1) is significantly higher. For Lu2 the theoretical values (R e=3.07±0.03 ?, D e=1.40±0.12 eV, ωe=123±1 cm−1) are in overall excellent agreement with experimental data (D e=1.43±0.34 eV, ωe=122± 1 cm−1). The electronic structures of La2 and Lu2 are compared to those other lanthanide dimers and trends in the series are discussed. Summary.  A dynamic NMR effect is observed in the 13C NMR spectra of anhydrous quinophthalone (quinoline yellow) and its monohydrate in the vicinity of 47°C and 0°C, respectively, and is attributed to a restricted rotation around the polarized carbon–carbon double bond. The free energy of activation for this process in anhydrous quinophthalone and the monohydrate is 65±2 and 55±2 kJ · mol−1, respectively, in CDCl3. Received September 25, 2001.  A selective, sensitive and simple catalytic method is developed for the determination of vanadium in natural and highly polluted waste waters. The method is based on the catalytic effect of VV and/or VIV on the bromate oxidative-coupling reaction of metol with phloroglucinol (PG). The reaction is followed spectrophotometrically by tracing the oxidation product at 464 nm after 10 minutes of mixing the reagents. The optimum reaction conditions are metol (8.0×10−3 M), PG (4.0×10−3 M) and bromate (2×10−2 M) at 35°C and in presence of an activator-b uffer mixture of 5×10−2 M of each of citric and monochloroacetic acids (pH 2.40). Following the recommended procedure, vanadium can be determined with a linear calibration graph up to 8.0 ng mL−1 and a detection limit, based on the 3sb criterion, of 0.1 ng mL−1. Spectrophotometric determination of as little as 1.0 ng mL−1 of VV or VIV in aqueous solutions gave an average recovery of 98% with relative standard deviations of ?1.8% (n = 5). The proposed method was directly applied to the determination of vanadium in Nile river water and highly polluted industrial wastes. Statistical treatments of analytical results could not detect any systematic error and showed the high accuracy and precision of the developed method. Received November 25, 1999. Vesuvianite, a complex sorosilicate, often contains variable (from trace-to-minor-element) amounts of H, B and F. We describe a microanalytical study of H, B and F in vesuvianite by means of Electron Probe Microanalysis (EPMA), Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS), and single-crystal Fourier-Transform InfraRed (FTIR) spectroscopy. Most crystals investigated are B- (up to 3.67 wt% B2O3) and F-rich (up to 2.38 wt%); H2O ranges from 0.243 to 0.665 wt%. The H data obtained by SIMS allowed us to calibrate the quantitative analysis of H2O by FTIR spectroscopy. The resulting molar absorption coefficient (ɛ i = 100 000 ± 2000 L · mol−1 · cm−2) is in excellent agreement with working curves available from the literature. Moreover, the SIMS data allowed us to obtain the calibration curve to estimate the B2O3 content on the basis on the FTIR absorbance: a i = 34000 ± 1400 · B2O3 (wt%).  相似文献

A new water-soluble precursor of BaTiO3 was prepared from citratoperoxotitanate and barium citrate as the Ti and Ba sources, respectively. The water-soluble precursor was easily solved in water to form a stable solution, which produced BaTiO3 by heat-treatment at 500 °C and above. A water-based dip-coating technique demonstrated a potential application as the coating solution of BaTiO3. Transparent BaTiO3 films were formed on the quartz-glass substrates with an increment of typically 9 nm per coating with 0.05 mol dm?3 solution. The transmittance of the 180 nm-thick film attained almost 90 % at the maximum and the overall transmittance was above 60 % over the visible region. The polycrystalline film was composed of BaTiO3 grains smaller than 200 nm. Although the film was an insulator, it was not suited for the dielectric application because of the structural problems due to the relatively low density and the thinness of the BaTiO3 layer. The BaTiO3 pellet obtained from the water soluble precursor by condensation, pyrolysis and sintering showed the good dielectric properties with εr = 3,500 and tan δ = 0.027 with a sintering temperature of 1,375 °C.  相似文献

Summary.  In the present work, rutin (3,3′ ,4′ ,5,7-pentahydrohyflavone-3-rhamnoglucoside) was determinated via a complexing reaction with a titanyloxalate anion. K2[TiO(C2O4)2] and rutin react in 50% ethanol forming a 1:2 complex in a pH range from 4.00 to 11.50, in which the TiO(C2O4)2 2− ion is linked to rutin through the 4-carbonyl and 5-hydroxyl group. The thermodynamic stability constant log β2 0 of the complex is determined to 10.80 at pH = 6.50. The change of the standard Gibbs free energy Δ G0 amounts to −61 kJċ mol−1, indicating that the process of complex formation is spontaneous. The optimal conditions for the spectrophotometric determination of microconcentrations of rutin are at pH=6.40 and λ= 430 nm, where the complex shows an absorption maximum with a molar absorption coefficient a 430=(60±2)ċ103 dm3ċ mol−1ċ cm−1. Summary.  A highly selective, sensitive, and simple catalytic method for the determination of molybdenum in natural and waste waters was developed. It is based on the catalytic effect of Mo(VI) on the oxidation of 2-aminophenol with H2O2. The reaction is monitored spectrophotometrically by tracing the oxidation product at 430 nm after 10 min of mixing the reagents. Addition of 800 μg · cm−3 EDTA conferred high selectivity; however, interfering effects of Au(III), Cr(III), Cr(VI), and Fe(III) had to be eliminated by a reduction and co-precipitation procedure with SnCl2 and Al(OH)3. Mo(VI) shows a linear calibration graph up to 11.0 ng · cm−3; the detection limit, based on the 3S b-criterion, is 0.10 ng · cm−3. The unique selectivity and sensitivity of the new method allowed its direct application to the determination of Mo(VI) in natural and waste waters. Received April 11, 2001.
