We perform a theoretical study based on dispersion relations of the reaction γγ → π
0
π
0 emphasizing the low-energy region. We discuss how the ƒ
0(980) signal emerges in γγ → ππ within the dispersive approach and how this fixes to a large extent the phase of the isoscalar S-wave γγ → ππ amplitude above the threshold. This allows us to make sharper predictions for the cross-section at lower energies and our results could then
be used to distinguish between different ππ isoscalar S-wave parameterizations with the advent of new precise data on ππ → π
0
π
0. We compare our dispersive approach with an updated calculation employing the unitary chiral perturbation theory (U
gC
PT). We also pay special attention to the role played by the σ-resonance in γγ → ππ and calculate its coupling and width to γγ, for which we obtain Γ(σ → γγ) = (1.68 ± 0.15) keV. 相似文献

Using 160GeV muon scattering data collected with the COMPASS experiment at CERN, the exclusive production of ωπ0 via virtual photons was studied. Selective population of a peak around 1250MeV is observed. Possible contributions from spin-parity
1- are searched for, inspecting decay angular correlations. In particular, the orientation of the ω decay plane may allow a
distinction from the 1+
b
1(1235) state. Our observation is compared with indications of a (1250) in annihilation and in γp .

1(1285) → π+π-π0 has been studied at the VES facility. This study is based on the statistics acquired in π-
Be interactions at 27, 36.6 and 41 GeV/c in the diffractive reaction π-
N → (f
1π-)N . The f
1(1285) → π+π-π0 decay is observed. The preliminary ratio of decay probabilities BR(f
1(1285) → π+π-π0) to BR(f
1(1285) → ηπ+π-).
BR(η → γγ) is ∼ 2% .

Preliminary data on the reactions e

e
−→φ→γ f
0(980)→γπ0π0 together with data on ππ scattering and the reactions J/ψ→φπ+π− and K
−
p→π +π−(Λ,Σ) are analyzed. The analysis shows that the mass of the f
0(980) meson is
= 950 MeV, and BR(φ→γf
0→γπ0π0)≃ 1× 10−4, indicating that the f
0(980) resonance is of a four-quark nature.

The reaction γγ → π+π-π0 with quasi-real photons is studied with a total integrated luminosity of 663pb^-1, collected by the L3 detector at LEP at
center-of-mass energies from 183 to 209GeV. The results of an energy-dependent partial wave analysis in the mass region 1.1≤M(π+π-π0)≤2.2GeV are presented. The reaction is dominated by a2(1320) formation. A strong signal consistent with the first radial excitation of the isovector tensor state, a2(1700), is present and confirms the previous L3 observation. Its two-photon partial width is found to be
Br(3π) = 0.37+0.12-0.08keV, the relative branching ratio of ρ(770)π to f2(1270)π is 3.4±0.4. For all observed states the product of γγ partial width and 3π branching ratios is measured. 相似文献

The beam-helicity asymmetry has been measured simultaneously for the reactions
p→epγ and
p→epπ
0 in the Δ(1232)-resonance region at Q
2 = 0.35(GeV/c)2. The experiment was performed at MAMI with a longitudinally polarized beam and an out-of-plane detection of the proton. The
results are compared with calculations based on dispersion relations for virtual Compton scattering and with the MAID model
for pion electroproduction. There is an overall good agreement between experiment and theoretical calculations. The remaining
discrepancies may be ascribed to an imperfect parametrization of some γ
(*)
N→πN multipoles, mainly contributing to the non-resonant background. The beam-helicity asymmetry in both channels (γ and π
0) shows a good sensitivity to these multipoles and should allow future improvement in their parametrization. 相似文献

High-statistics Belle data on the γγ → π0η reaction have been analyzed in order to reveal the mechanism of two-photon production and the nature of the a
0(980) resonance. The solution obtained for the γγ → π0η amplitude is in agreement with the predictions of the chiral theory for the πη-scattering length; with the strong coupling
of the a
0(980) resonance with the πη, K
$
\bar K
$
\bar K
, and πη′ channels; and with the key role of the a
0(980) → (K
$
\bar K
$
\bar K
+ π0η + π0η′) → γγ rescattering mechanisms in the a
0(980) → γγ decay. This picture is much in favor of the q
2
$
\bar q
$
\bar q
2 nature of a
0(980) resonance and is consistent with the properties of its partners, σ0(600) and f
0(980) resonances, in particular, with those manifested in the γγ → ππ reactions. The important role of vector exchanges in
the formation of the nonresonant background in the γγ → π0η reaction has been revealed. Preliminary information on the π0η → π0η reaction has been obtained. 相似文献

We calculate the one-photon loop radiative corrections to virtual pion Compton scattering
→
, that subprocess which determines in the one-photon exchange approximation the pion-nucleus bremsstrahlung reaction
Z →
Z
. Ultraviolet and infrared divergencies of the loop integrals are both treated by dimensional regularization. Analytical
expressions for the O() corrections to the virtual Compton scattering amplitudes, A(s, u, Q) and B(s, u, Q) , are derived with their full dependence on the (small) photon virtuality Q from 9 classes of contributing one-loop diagrams. Infrared finiteness of these virtual radiative corrections is achieved
(in the standard way) by including soft photon radiation below an energy cut-off . In the region of low
center-of-mass energies, where the pion-nucleus bremsstrahlung process is used to extract the pion electric and magnetic
polarizabilities, we find radiative corrections up to about -3% for = 5 MeV. Furthermore, we extend our calculation of the radiative corrections to virtual pion Compton scattering
→
by including the leading pion-structure effect in the form of the polarizability difference - . Our analytical results are particularly relevant for analyzing the data of the COMPASS experiment at CERN which aims at
measuring the pion electric and magnetic polarizabilities with high statistics using the Primakoff effect. 相似文献

There is a natural cancellation between the contributions of the qqq and qqqq
components to the axial charge of the N(1535)-resonance. While the probability of the former is larger than that of the latter, its coefficient in the axial charge
expression is exceptionally small. The magnitude of two of the corresponding coefficients of the qqqq
components is in contrast large and has the opposite sign. This result provides a phenomenological illustration of the recent
unquenched lattice calculation result that the axial charge of the N(1535)-resonance is very small, if not vanishing (T.T.
Takahashi, T. Kunihiro, arXiv: 0801.4707 [hep-lat]). The result sets an upper limit on the magnitude of the probability of
qqqq

We calculate the radiative decay widths of the a
0(980) and f
0(980) scalar mesons into ργ and ωγ considering the dynamically generated nature of these scalar resonances within the realm
of the chiral unitary approach. The main ingredient in the evaluation of the radiative width of the scalar mesons are the
loops coming from the decay into their constituent pseudoscalar-pseudoscalar components and the subsequent radiation of the
photon. The dominant diagrams with only pseudoscalar mesons in the loops are found to be convergent while the divergence of
those with a vector meson in the loop are written in terms of the two-meson loop function easily regularizable. We provide
results for all the possible charge channels and obtain results, with uncertainties, which differ significantly from quark
loops models and some version of vector meson dominance. 相似文献

The reaction p(e, e'p)π0 has been studied at Q2 = 0.2 (GeV/c)2 in the region of W = 1232MeV. From measurements left and right of
, cross-section asymmetries ρLT have been obtained in forward kinematics ρLT(
= 20°) = (- 11.68±2.36stat±2.36sys) and backward kinematics ρLT(
= 160°) = (12.18±0.27stat±0.82sys) π0. Multipole ratios
{S1+ * M1+}/| M1+|2 and
{S0+ * M1+}/| M1+|2 were determined in the framework of the MAID2003 model. The results are in agreement with older data. The unusally strong
negative

The beam asymmetry, Σ , was measured at ELSA in the reaction
p → ηp using linearly polarised tagged photon beams, produced by coherent bremsstrahlung off a diamond. The crystal was oriented
to provide polarised photons in the energy range E
γ = 800 to 1400MeV with the maximum polarisation of P
γ = 49 % obtained at 1305MeV. Both dominant decay modes of the η into two photons and 3π0 were used to extract the beam asymmetry from the azimuthal modulation of the cross-section. The measurements cover the angular
range Θcm ≃ 50 -150 degrees. Large asymmetries up to 80% are observed, in agreement with a previous measurement. The eta-MAID model

We study different types of radiative decays involving f0(980) and a0(980) mesons within a unified ChPT-based approach at one-loop level. Light scalar resonances, which are seen in the ππ, πη
and KK̄ channels of the φ(1020) radiative decays and in the J/ψ decays are responsible for key questions of low-energy dynamics
in the strong interaction sector, and the decays φ(1020)→γa0(980), φ(1020)→γf0(980), a0(980)→γγ and f0(980)→γγ are of interest for current experimental programs in Jülich, Frascati and Novosibirsk. From the theoretical point
of view it is important to verify whether light scalar mesons are members of some flavor octet or nonet. We find a value for
the mixing angle dictated by consistency with experiment and the coupling structures of the ChPT Lagrangian. The decay widths
f0(980)/a0(980)→γρ(770)/ω(782), which have not been experimentally studied yet, are predicted. We also obtain several relations between
the widths, which hold independently of the coupling constants and which represent a fingerprint of the model.
