The possibility of using multilevel quantum systems with a discrete nonequidistant spectrum for the physical implementation of a universal collection of quantum gates, which is required for constructing an arbitrary algorithm for a quantum computer, is studied on the basis of the proposed virtual-spin formalism. It is shown that such a set of gates, including two-qubit gates, can be constructed on a single spin-3/2 nucleus. The assertion that three-qubit gates can also be realized on a single spin-7/2 quantum particle is substantiated.  相似文献

The classical field-dependent parametrization covariant Hamiltonian formulation of the open and the closed string is discussed. The formalism is not applicable to the open string. A conformally covariant formalism is developed for the open string. The Rohrlich gauge conditions are justified and applied. The parametrization of classical solutions is not uniquely fixed; the generators of rigid time translation in the parameter space remain first class. The constraints and gauge conditions are taken into account in the quantum theory as conditions on physical states. The required invariance of physical states under rigid displacement of parameter time leads to a mass superselection rule. The set of physical string quantum states is analogous to the set of states constructed by Di Vecchia, Del Guidice, and Fubini. A recursive construction is presented which permits the counting of physical states of any given mass, spin, and parity. Physical states lie on linearly rising Regge trajectories with one universal slope. The intercept of the leading trajectory is constrained only by the requirement that there be no tachyonic physical states. The quantization is carried out in four space-time dimensions.Supported by NSF Grant No. MPS74-15246 and DFG/Az 287/6. We propose to implement quantum computing by the on-demand control of the wave packets propagation in helical edge channels of the quantum spin Hall systems (QSHs). Two non-commutative single-qubit gates are realized by the gate voltages applied on the edge channels. The two-qubit controlled phase gate is implemented by the capacitive Coulomb interaction between two adjacent edge channels from two parallel QSHs. A universal set of quantum gates thus can be realized in an all-electrical way. It is also shown that the fidelity and the purity of the controlled phase gate can reach a high value, with both the time delay and the finite width of the wave packets taken into account.  相似文献

The formalism of geometric algebra can be described as deformed super analysis. The deformation is done with a fermionic star product, that arises from deformation quantization of pseudoclassical mechanics. If one then extends the deformation to the bosonic coefficients of superanalysis one obtains quantum mechanics for systems with spin. This approach clarifies on the one hand the relation between Grassmann and Clifford structures in geometric algebra and on the other hand the relation between classical mechanics and quantum mechanics. Moreover it gives a formalism that allows to handle classical and quantum mechanics in a consistent manner.  相似文献

Physical spin configurations corresponding to topological excitations, expected to be present in the XY limit of a quantum spin 1/2 Heisenberg anti-ferromagnet, are probed on a two dimensional square lattice. Quantum vortices (anti-vortices) are constructed in terms of coherent staggered spin field components, as limiting case of meronic (anti-meronic) configurations. The crucial role of the associated Wess-Zumino-like (WZ-like) term is highlighted in our procedure. The time evolution equation of coherent spin fields used in this analysis is obtained by applying variational principle on the quantum Euclidean action corresponding to the Heisenberg anti-ferromagnet on lattice. It is shown that the WZ-like term can distinguish between vortices and anti-vortices only in a charge sector with odd topological charges. Our formalism is distinctly different from the conventional approach for the construction of quantum vortices (anti-vortices).  相似文献

A weak continuous quantum measurement of an atomic spin ensemble can be implemented via Faraday rotation of an off-resonance probe beam, and may be used to create and probe nonclassical spin states and dynamics. We show that the probe light shift leads to nonlinearity in the spin dynamics and limits the useful Faraday measurement window. Removing the nonlinearity allows a nonperturbing measurement on the much longer time scale set by decoherence. The nonlinear spin Hamiltonian is of interest for studies of quantum chaos and real-time quantum state estimation.  相似文献

We have studied here black hole entropy in the framework of quantum geometry. It is pointed out that the black hole radiation consistent with Hawking spectrum can be realized as an effect of quantum geometry using a dynamical formalism for diffeomorphism invariance which envisages a discretized unit of time in the Planck scale. This formalism suggests that torsion acts within a quantized area unit (area bit) associated with a loop and this eventually forbids the Hamiltonian constraint to be satisfied for a finite loop size. We assign a spin with torsion in each area bit and entanglement entropy of a black hole is computed in terms of the entanglement entropy of this spin system. We have derived the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy along with a logarithmic correction term with a specific coefficient. Also we have shown that the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy can be formulated in terms of the Noether charge associated with a diffeomorphism invariant Lagrangian.  相似文献

应用转移矩阵方法求解三种不同量子阱体系中基于单带有效质量模型和包络函数近似下的一维定态薛定谔方程.首先,通过比较Ⅰ型单量子阱GaAlAs/GaAs/GaAlAs体系的解析解和数值解,该方法的精确性得到了验证.其次,与Ⅱ型断代量子阱AlSb/InAs/GaSb/AlSb系统的光致发光谱实验结果比较证实了该方法的适用性.最后,利用该方法推广计算了基于GaAs/GaAlAs材料的Ⅰ型耦合多量子阱体系的子带能级和波函数,说明了方法的通用性和实用性. 关键词: 量子阱 转移矩阵方法 光致发光  相似文献

Methods for obtaining exact and approximate solutions of the evolution of quantum-mechanical problems are discussed. The cyclic evolution of quantum systems described by time-periodic Hamiltonians is analyzed. A class of time-periodic Hamiltonians is constructed in the close analytical form. The corresponding cyclic solutions are calculated. Time-dependent Hamiltonians are generated whose expectation values calculated with cyclic solutions are time independent. It is shown that the expectation values of the spin projection calculated with the same cyclic solutions, as well as the probability density of finding a particle at a given space-time point, are also time independent. Therefore, the approach can be used to simulate quantum dynamic potential wells with the particle localization effect. Nonadiabatic geometric phases are expressed in terms of the cyclic solutions. Exactly solvable time-dependent problems are used to construct a universal set of gates for quantum computers. A method for obtaining entanglement operators is discussed.  相似文献

An experimentally feasible strong coupling system between a spin ensemble and a superconducting qubit is studied. The coupling strength can be exponentially enhanced by applying the squeezing transformations to the system. By means of the two spin ensembles commonly coupled to a superconducting qubit, a set of universal nonadiabatic holonomic single‐qubit quantum gates can be realized in a decoherence‐free subspace. Furthermore, this proposal is robust with respect to decay of the system parameters, and it is experimentally feasible with currently available technology.  相似文献

利用非平衡格林函数方法, 研究了与单个量子点耦合的量子点双链中电子自旋极化输运性质. 由于系统中Rashba自旋轨道耦合产生的自旋相关的相位, 电子通过上下两种路径时, 自旋不同的电子干涉情况不同, 从而导致了电极中的自旋极化流. 左右两电极间的偏压使单个量子点中的自旋积聚在很大能量区域内能够保持较大的值. 由于系统结构的左右不对称, 正负偏压下自旋积聚情况完全不同. 这些计算结果将有助于实验上设计新型的自旋电子学器件.  相似文献

The spin of supersymmetric particles can be determined at e+e- colliders unambiguously. This is demonstrated for a characteristic set of non-colored supersymmetric particles – smuons, selectrons, and charginos/neutralinos. The analysis is based on the threshold behavior of the excitation curves for pair production in e+e- collisions, the angular distribution in the production process and decay angular distributions. In the first step we present the observables in the helicity formalism for the supersymmetric particles. Subsequently we confront the results with corresponding analyses of Kaluza–Klein particles in theories of universal extra space dimensions which behave distinctly different from supersymmetric theories. It is shown in the third step that a set of observables can be designed which signal the spin of supersymmetric particles unambiguously without any model assumptions. Finally in the fourth step it is demonstrated that the determination of the spin of supersymmetric particles can be performed experimentally in practice at an e+e- collider.  相似文献

A formalism is developed whereby balance laws are directly obtained from nonlocal (integrodifferential) linear second-order equations of motion for systems described by several dependent variables. These laws augment the equations of motion as further useful information about the physical system and, under certain conditions, are shown to reduce to conservation laws. The formalism can be applied to physical systems whose equations of motion may be relativistic and either classical or quantum. It is shown to facilitate obtaining global conservation laws for quantities which include energy and momentum. Applications of the formalism are given for a nonlocal Schrödinger equation and for a system of local relativistic equations of motion describing particles of arbitrary integral spin.  相似文献

We study the magnetic field effects on the spin-polarized transport of the quantum dot (QD) spin valve in the sequential tunneling regime. A set of generalized master equation is derived. Based on that, we discuss the collinear and noncollinear magnetic field effects, respectively. In the collinear magnetic field case,we find that the Zeeman splitting can induce a negative differential conductance (NDC), which is quite different from the one found in previous studies. It has a critical polarization in the parallel arrangement and will disappear in the antiparallelconfiguration. In the noncollinear magnetic field case, the current shows two plateaus and their angular dependence is analyzed. Although sometimes the two current plateaus have similar angular dependence, their mechanisms are different. Our formalism is also suitable for calculating the transport in magnetic molecules, in which the spin splitting is induced not by a magnetic field but by the intrinsic magnetization.  相似文献

We report coherent operation of a singlet-triplet qubit controlled by the spatial arrangement of two confined electrons in an adjacent double quantum dot that is electrostatically coupled to the qubit. This four-dot system is the specific device geometry needed for two-qubit operations of a two-electron spin qubit. We extract the strength of the capacitive coupling between qubit and adjacent double quantum dot and show that the present geometry allows fast conditional gate operation, opening pathways toward implementation of a universal set of gates for singlet-triplet spin qubits.  相似文献

Bohmian mechanics represents the universe as a set of paths with a probability measure defined on it. The way in which a mathematical model of this kind can explain the observed phenomena of the universe is examined in general. It is shown that the explanation does not make use of the full probability measure, but rather of a suitable set function deriving from it, which defines relative typicality between single-time cylinder sets. Such a set function can also be derived directly from the standard quantum formalism, without the need of an underlying probability measure. The key concept for this derivation is the quantum typicality rule, which can be considered as a generalization of the Born rule. The result is a new formulation of quantum mechanics, in which particles follow definite trajectories, but which is based only on the standard formalism of quantum mechanics.  相似文献

The physical spin configurations corresponding to the topological excitations expected to be present in the XY limit of a purely quantum spin \frac 12\frac {1}{2} Heisenberg ferromagnet, are investigated on a two dimensional square lattice. Quantum vortices (anti-vortices) are constructed by making use of the coherent spin field components from meronic (anti-meronic) configurations in the limiting case of very strong XY anisotropy. The equations for pseudo-time evolution of coherent spin fields used in this analysis, are obtained by applying variational principle on the quantum Euclidean action corresponding to the Heisenberg ferromagnet on lattice. The important role of the associated topological-like term extracted from the Wess-Zumino-like contribution, is highlighted in our procedure. It is shown that this term can identify a large class of vortices (anti-vortices). In particular the excitations having odd topological charges form this class. The aim of the present paper is to show that the formalism of equilibrium quantum statistical mechanics can fully be incorporated into Ludwig's embedding scheme for classical theories in many-body quantum mechanics. A construction procedure based on a recently developed reconstruction procedure for the so-called macro-observable is presented which leads to the explicit determination of the set of classical ensembles compatible with the embedding scheme.  相似文献
