Geometric phases are only dependent on evolution paths but independent of evolution details so that they possess some intrinsic noise-resilience features. Based on different geometric phases, various quantum gates have been proposed, such as nonadiabatic geometric gates based on nonadiabatic Abelian geometric phases and nonadiabatic holonomic gates based on nonadiabatic nonAbelian geometric phases. Up to now, nonadiabatic holonomic one-qubit gates have been experimentally demonstrated with superconducting transmons, where the three lowest levels are all utilized in operation. However, the second excited state of transmons has a relatively short coherence time, which results in a decreased fidelity of quantum gates. Here, we experimentally realize Abelian-geometric-phase-based nonadiabatic geometric one-qubit gates with a superconducting Xmon qubit. The realization is performed on the two lowest levels of an Xmon qubit and thus avoids the influence from the short coherence time of the second excited state. The experimental result indicates that the average fidelities of single-qubit gates can be up to 99.6% and 99.7% characterized by quantum process tomography and randomized benchmarking.  相似文献

Geometric phases are robust to local noises and the nonadiabatic ones can reduce the evolution time, thus nonadiabatic geometric gates have strong robustness and can approach high fidelity. However, the advantage of geometric phase has not been fully explored in previous investigations. Here,a scheme is proposed for universal quantum gates with pure nonadiabatic and noncyclic geometric phases from smooth evolution paths. In the scheme, only geometric phase can be accumulated in a fast way, and thus it not only fully utilizes the local noise resistant property of geometric phase but also reduces the difficulty in experimental realization. Numerical results show that the implemented geometric gates have stronger robustness than dynamical gates and the geometric scheme with cyclic path. Furthermore, it proposes to construct universal quantum gate on superconducting circuits, with the fidelities of single-qubit gate and nontrivial two-qubit gate can achieve 99.97% and 99.87%, respectively. Therefore, these high-fidelity quantum gates are promising for large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computation.  相似文献

The possibility of realization of quantum gates by means of the nonadiabatic geometric phase is considered. It is shown that the nonadiabatic phase can be used for realization of quantum gates as successfully as the adiabatic phase.  相似文献

The approach to implement nonadiabatic geometric quantum computation by controlling the magnetic fields is applied to construct single-qubit noncommutable geometric quantum gates. The results show that it is helpful for experimenters to realize the geometric quantum gates by adjusting the external parameters.  相似文献

Quantum gates, which are the essential building blocks of quantum computers, are very fragile. Thus, to realize robust quantum gates with high fidelity is the ultimate goal of quantum manipulation. Here, we propose a nonadiabatic geometric quantum computation scheme on superconducting circuits to engineer arbitrary quantum gates, which share both the robust merit of geometric phases and the capacity to combine with optimal control technique to further enhance the gate robustness. Specifically, in our proposal, arbitrary geometric single-qubit gates can be realized on a transmon qubit, by a resonant microwave field driving, with both the amplitude and phase of the driving being timedependent. Meanwhile, nontrivial two-qubit geometric gates can be implemented by two capacitively coupled transmon qubits, with one of the transmon qubits’ frequency being modulated to obtain effective resonant coupling between them. Therefore, our scheme provides a promising step towards fault-tolerant solid-state quantum computation.  相似文献

Nonadiabatic geometric quantum computation protected by dynamical decoupling combines the robustness of nonadiabatic geometric gates and the decoherence-resilience feature of dynamical decoupling. Solid-state systems provide an appealing candidate for the realization of nonadiabatic geometric quantum computation protected dynamical decoupling since the solid-state qubits are easily embedded in electronic circuits and scaled up to large registers. In this paper, we put forward a scheme of nonadiabatic geometric quantum computation protected by dynamical decoupling via the XXZ Hamiltonian, which not only combines the merits of nonadiabatic geometric gates and dynamical decoupling but also can be realized in a number of solid-state systems, such as superconducting circuits and quantum dots.

Holonomic quantum computation is a quantum computation strategy that promises some built-in noise-resilience features. Here, we propose a scheme for nonadiabatic holonomic quantum computation with nitrogen-vacancy center electron spins, which are characterized by fast quantum gates and long qubit coherence times. By varying the detuning, amplitudes, and phase difference of lasers applied to a nitrogen-vacancy center, one can directly realize an arbitrary single-qubit holonomic gate on the spin. Meanwhile, with the help of cavity-assisted interactions, a nontrivial two-qubit holonomic quantum gate can also be induced. The distinct merit of this scheme is that all the quantum gates are obtained via an all-optical geometric manipulation of the solid-state spins. Therefore, our scheme opens the possibility for robust quantum computation using solid-state spins in an all-optical way.  相似文献

The adiabatic geometric phase is calculated in a coupled two quantum dot system, which is entangled through Förster interaction. This phase is then utilized for implementing basic quantum logic gate operation useful in quantum information processing. Such gates based on geometric phase provide fault-tolerant quantum computing.  相似文献

We propose a new class of unconventional geometric gates involving nonzero dynamic phases, and elucidate that geometric quantum computation can be implemented by using these gates. Comparing with the conventional geometric gate operation, in which the dynamic phase shift must be removed or avoided, the gates proposed here may be operated more simply. We illustrate in detail that unconventional nontrivial two-qubit geometric gates with built-in fault-tolerant geometric features can be implemented in real physical systems.  相似文献

The time evolution is studied for the Landau level problem with a general time dependent electric field E(t) in a plane perpendicular to the magnetic field. A general and explicit factorization of the time evolution operator is obtained with each factor having a clear physical interpretation. The factorization consists of a geometric factor (path-ordered magnetic translation), a dynamical factor generated by the usual time-independent Landau Hamiltonian, and a nonadiabatic factor that determines the transition probabilities among the Landau levels. Since the path-ordered magnetic translation and the nonadiabatic factor are, up to completely determined numerical phase factors, just ordinary exponentials whose exponents are explicitly expressible in terms of the canonical variables, all of the factors in the factorization are explicitly constructed. New quantum interference effects are implied by this result. The factorization is unique from the point of view of the quantum adiabatic theorem and provides a seemingly first rigorous demonstration of how the quantum adiabatic theorem (incorporating the Berry phase phenomenon) is realized when infinitely degenerate energy levels are involved. Since the factorization separates the effect caused by the electric field into a geometric factor and a nonadiabatic factor, it makes possible to calculate the nonadiabatic transition probabilities near the adiabatic limit. A formula for matrix elements that determines the mixing of the Landau levels for a general, nonadiabatic evolution is also provided by the factorization.  相似文献

Steering a quantum harmonic oscillator state along cyclic trajectories leads to a path-dependent geometric phase. Here we describe its experimental observation in an electronic harmonic oscillator. We use a superconducting qubit as a nonlinear probe of the phase, which is otherwise unobservable due to the linearity of the oscillator. We show that the geometric phase is, for a variety of cyclic paths, proportional to the area enclosed in the quadrature plane. At the transition to the nonadiabatic regime, we study corrections to the phase and dephasing of the qubit caused by qubit-resonator entanglement. In particular, we identify parameters for which this dephasing mechanism is negligible even in the nonadiabatic regime. The demonstrated controllability makes our system a versatile tool to study geometric phases in open quantum systems and to investigate their potential for quantum information processing.  相似文献

We propose a scheme for realizing conventional geometric quantum phase gates in the context of cavity QED. During the operation neither the atomic system nor the cavity mode is excited, which is important in view of decoherence. The scheme does not require detection of photons, so the gate operation is deterministic and the influence of photodetection imperfection is eliminated. Taking advantage of the geometric manipulation, the phase gate is resilient to fluctuations of experimental parameters.  相似文献

We propose a new approach to quantum phase gates via the adiabatic evolution. The conditional phase shift is neither of dynamical nor geometric origin. It arises from the adiabatic evolution of the dark state itself. Taking advantage of the adiabatic passage, this kind of quantum logic gates is robust against moderate fluctuations of experimental parameters. In comparison with the geometric phase gates, it is unnecessary to drive the system to undergo a desired cyclic evolution to obtain a desired solid angle. Thus, the procedure is simplified, and the fidelity may be further improved since the errors in obtaining the required solid angle are avoided. We illustrate such a kind of quantum logic gates in the ion trap system. The idea can also be realized in other systems, opening a new perspective for quantum information processing.  相似文献

Nonadiabatic holonomic quantum computation has received increasing attention due to its robustness against control errors. However, all the previous schemes have to use at least two sequentially implemented gates to realize a general one-qubit gate.Based on two recent reports,we construct two Hamiltonians and experimentally realized nonadiabatic holonomic gates by a single-shot implementation in a two-qubit nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)system. Two noncommuting one-qubit holonomic gates, rotating along x?and z?axes respectively, are implemented by evolving a work qubit and an ancillary qubit nonadiabatically following a quantum circuit designed.Using a sequence compiler developed for NMR quantum information processor,we optimize the whole pulse sequence, minimizing the total error of the implementation. Finally, all the nonadiabatic holonomic gates reach high unattenuated experimental fidelities over 98%.  相似文献

A protocol is proposed to realize one‐step implementation of the N‐qubit nonadiabatic holonomic quantum gates with superconducting qubits. The inverse Hamiltonian engineering is applied in designing microwave pulses to drive superconducting qubits. By combining curve fitting, the wave shapes of the designed pulses can be described by simple functions, which are not hard to realize in experiments. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the protocol, a three‐qubit holonomic controlled π‐phase gate is taken as an example in numerical simulations. The results show that the protocol holds robustness against noise and decoherence. Therefore, the protocol may provide an alternative approach for implementing N‐qubit nonadiabatic holonomic quantum gates.  相似文献

High-fidelity quantum gates are essential for large-scale quantum computation. However, any quantum manipulation will inevitably affected by noises, systematic errors and decoherence effects, which lead to infidelity of a target quantum task. Therefore, implementing high-fidelity, robust and fast quantum gates is highly desired. Here, we propose a fast and robust scheme to construct high-fidelity holonomic quantum gates for universal quantum computation based on resonant interaction of three-level quantum systems via shortcuts to adiabaticity. In our proposal, the target Hamiltonian to induce noncyclic non-Abelian geometric phases can be inversely engineered with less evolution time and demanding experimentally, leading to high-fidelity quantum gates in a simple setup. Besides, our scheme is readily realizable in physical system currently pursued for implementation of quantum computation. Therefore, our proposal represents a promising way towards fault-tolerant geometric quantum computation.  相似文献

Single rare-earth ions doped in solids are one kind of the promising candidates for quantum nodes towards a scalable quantum network.Realizing a universal set of high-fidelity gate operations is a central requirement for functional quantum nodes. Here we propose geometric gate operations using the hybridized states of electron spin and nuclear spin of an ion embedded in a crystal. The fidelities of these geometric gates achieve 0.98 in the realistic experimental situations. We also show the robustness of geometric gates to pulse fluctuations and to environment decoherence. These results provide insights for geometric phases in dissipative systems and show a potential application of high fidelity manipulations for future quantum internet nodes.  相似文献
