Summary Complexes of 4-(2-thiazolyl)-1-(2,6-diacetylpyridine)-thiosemicarbazone, H2C3NSCNH(S)NHNCMeC5H3N-C(O)Me (Htdaptsc) of the compositions [M(Htdaptsc)2Cl2] [M=MnII, CoII, NiII or ZnII] [M(Htdaptsc)Cl2] [M=ZnII, CdII or HgII] and [M(tdaptsc)2] [M=MnII, CoII, NiII, CuII, or ZnII] have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, electronic, e.s.r. and i.r. studies, and their stereochemistries are discussed.  相似文献

Summary The 4-(2-thiazolyl)thiosemicarbazide HTTSC, reacts with metal ions to yield two types of complex M(HTTSC)2 Cl2 [M=cobalt(II), nickel(II) copper(II), cadmium(II), or mercury(II)] and [M(TTSC)2] [M=cobalt(II), nickel(II) or copper(II)]. These complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses and studied by magnetic and spectroscopic techniques. Tetrahedral coordination around cadmium(II) and mercury(II), square planar geometry around cobalt(II) and nickel(II) in [Co(TTSC)2] and [Ni(HTTSC)2]Cl2, respectively, and octahedral stereochemistry for the remaining complexes is proposed.  相似文献

Summary Complexes having the chemical compositions [VO(Habth)2SO4], [M(Habth)2Cl2] [M=CoII, NiII, CuII or ZnII) and [M(abth)2] [M=VIVO, CoII, NiII, CuII or ZnII) and Habth=2-aminobenzophenone-2-thenoylhydrazone] have been prepared and characterized. The complexes are non-electrolytes. Magnetic moments and electronic, photoacoustic, e.s.r. and i.r. spectra of the complexes are used to establish the stereochemistry and mode of bonding of the hydrazone.  相似文献

2-Acetylpyridineisonicotinoyl hydrazone (Hapinh) complexes of OV(II), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) having 1:1 metal-ligand stoichiometry have been prepared and characterised by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, electronic, infrared, ESR and NMR (1H and13C) studies. Octahedral/distorted octahedral geometry has been assigned for the OV(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes while tetrahedral and trigonal bipyramidal configurations have been suggested for the Co (II) adduct and deprotonated complexes respectively. IR and NMR spectral studies suggest a tridentate behaviour of Hapinh and apinh species in the adducts and deprotonated complexes respectively.  相似文献

Summary Magnetic susceptibility and Mössbauer spectroscopy measurements have been carried out on [FeIII(SAm)Cl2], and indicate an intermediate spin state for the ferric ion. The temperature-independent magnetic moment of (4.17±0.05) B, the quadrupole splitting=4.09 mm s–1 and isomer shift=0.133 mm s–1 are in agreement with such formulation. These studies, together with infrared data, are used to suggest a possible structure of the complex.  相似文献

Summary A series of metal ion complexes of the thiosemicarbazone, 3-azabicyclo[3.2.2]nonane-3-thiocarboxylic acid 2-[1-(6-methyl-2-pyridinyl)ethylidene]hydrazide (6 MLH) have been prepared and spectrally characterized. The ligand undergoes deprotonation to coordinatevia the thione sulphur, the imine nitrogen and the pyridyl nitrogen. A single anionic ligand such as Cl, Br and NO3 completes the bonding to the CuII and NiII centre. The compound derived from CoCl2 contains two 6 MLH ligands bound to a CoII centre and a CoCl 4 2– counter ion. Complexes derived from perchlorate salts may feature 6 MLH, 6 ML, or both with the CoII being oxidized to CoIII. The solids were characterized by i.r., electronic and e.s.r. spectroscopy. This work examines transition metal ion complexes which have been synthesized from 3-acetylpyridine 4 N-(2-pyridyl)thiosemicarbazone (HAPS) (1). [Cu(HAPS)2Cl2]?·?H2O (2), [Hg(HAPS)2Cl2] (3), [Ni(HAPS)Cl2]?·?2H2O (4), [UO2(APS)2]?·?2H2O (5), [VO(HAPS)2]SO4?·?H2O (6), and [Zn(HAPS)2Cl2] (7) were characterized by elemental analysis, spectral (IR, 1H-NMR, and UV-Vis), magnetic, and molar conductance measurements. The biochemical studies showed that 2 and 3 have powerful and complete degradation on both DNA and protein. Complexes 2, 4, and 7 showed significant antioxidant properties, especially scavenging on superoxide and hydroxyl radicals. The antibacterial screening demonstrated that all studied complexes have maximum and broad range activities against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains.  相似文献

Coordination compounds of MnII, CuII, FeIII and ZnII ions with 4-acetylpyridine nicotinoylhydrazone (4-APNH) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductivity, magnetic moments, i.r., u.v./vis., m.s., 1H-n.m.r. and thermal analyses. I.r. spectra show that the ligand can act either in the enol form as monovalent bidentate or in the keto form as neutral bidentate depending on the metal salt used. Octahedral structures are proposed for Fe complex and square – planar for the Cu complex, while tetrahedral structures were suggested for Zn and Mn complexes on the basis of magnetic and spectral evidences. Semi-empirical calculations ZINDO/1 have been used to study the molecular geometry and the harmonic vibrational spectra with the purpose to assist the experimental assignment of the complexes. Summary 3-Isonicotinamido-rhodanine (HINRd) reacts with metal ions to yield complexes of the types M(INRd)OH·nH2O (where M=CoII, NiII, ZnII or CdII and n=1 or 2), Cu(HINRd)X·2H2O (where X=Cl or Br), Pd(HINRd)Cl2 and Cd(HINRd)X2·H2O (where X=Cl or Br), depending on the metal salt used and the reaction conditions. The metal complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivities, molecular weights, magnetic susceptibility, visible, and i.r. studies. The i.r. spectra show that HINRd binds in a bidentate or monodentate manner. The spectral and magnetic studies suggest a tetrahedral arrangement for CoII, octahedral for NiII and square-planar for PdII. HINRd behaves as a reducing agent towards CuII chloride or bromide forming diamagnetic CuI complexes.  相似文献

Summary The chelating behaviour of neutral and deprotonated 2,6-diacetyl-pyridine bis(2-furoylhydrazone), H2dapf, has been investigated in some new complexes of oxovanadium(IV), manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II). The hydrazone reacts with the metal salts to yield complexes of two types; the addition compounds [VO(H2dapf)]SO4, [M(H2dapf)Cl]Cl and the deprotonated complexes [M(dapf)H2O] [M=manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) or zinc(II)] in neutral and alkaline media, respectively. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, electronic, i.r. and e.s.r. studies and their stereochemistries are discussed.  相似文献

Summary Copper(II) complexes of general formula [Cu(L4A)X] (where L4A is the deprotonated ligand, 1 H-hexahydroazepine-1-thiocarboxylic acid-2-[1-(2-pyridinyl)ethylidene]hydrazide and X=Cl, Br, I, NCS, NO3 and OAc) and [Cu(HL4A)(L4A)]ClO4 have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements, i.r. spectra, electronic spectra, conductivity measurements and e.s.r. spectra in the polycrystalline state and in chloroform solution. For all complexes, except the perchlorate salt, coordination occurs via imine nitrogen, pyridine nitrogen and thione sulphur. For the perchlorate salt, L4A is tridentate, while HL4A is monodentate via imine nitrogen. Electronic spectra suggest planar geometry for all the complexes. The calculated e.s.r parameters suggest coordination through sulphur in agreement with the i.r. results.  相似文献

Thermodynamic stability constants of complexes of Mn(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Cu(II) with five closely related N-arylhydroxamic acids have been determined at 25 +/- 0.1 degrees in 50% v v aqueous dioxan medium. The stabilities of the complexes mostly follow the order of the basicity of the ligands and the electron affinities of the metal ions as measured by their second ionization potential.  相似文献

Metal complexes of stoichiometries, [M(HLppz4M)X2] and [M(Lppz4M)X], are formed from nickel(II) and copper(II) halides and 2-acetylpyridine 3-(4-methyl)piperizinylthiosemicarbazone, HLppz4M. The [M(Lppz4M)X] complexes involve tridentate N(pyridyl), N(azomethinyl) and S(thiolate) coordination with a halo ligand completing the bonding. Neutral HLppz4M coordinatesvia the two nitrogen donors. Spectral evidence indicates the presence of a thiol hydrogen in Hppz4M complexes, the first to be reported for a coordinated thiosemicarbazone.  相似文献
