Comment on: “Confined states in two-dimensional flat elliptic quantum dots and elliptic quantum wires” [Physica E 11 (2001) 345]

We argue that the two-dimensional elliptic quantum dot problem with finite barrier cannot be exactly solved, contrary to a recent assertion (van den Broek and Peeters, Physica E 11 (2001) 345. We also prove it explicitly by numerically calculating the correct energy spectrum.     

Erratum to “Master equation for structured reservoirs” [Photonics Nanostruct.: Fundam. Appl. 2/3 (2004) 167]

In this work we generalize the formalism developed in our previous work [D. Mogilevtsev, S. Kilin, S.B. Cavalcanti, PNFA (2–3) (2004) 161]. We derive a master equation suitable to describe atom-field interaction in structured reservoirs, particulary those that exhibit ‘freezing’ of spontaneous decay as well as atom-field bound states. For a wide range of reservoir densities-of-states, this equation can be reduced to the Markovian form. In this work we extend the range of applicability of the method to times comparable to those of the atom-field bound state formation. We discuss novel features that such an extension brings forth and confirm predictions made in our previous work, namely, the stationary positive atomic inversion, a possibility of in-reservoir coherent control of the atom-field bound state and bipartite character of such a state in the absence of external perturbations.     

Comment on: “Secure quantum sealed-bid auction” [Opt. Comm. 282 (2009) 1939]

In a recent paper [Opt. Comm. 282 (2009) 1939], a quantum sealed-bid auction protocol was proposed. However, in this comment, it is shown that the protocol does not complete the task of a sealed-bid auction fairly when any bidder colludes with the auctioneer.     

Corrigendum to “1/f Noise and intermittency due to diffusion of point defects in a semiconductor material” [Physica A 282 (2000) 108]

In the above-mentioned paper, the total rate of generation is defined by (unnumbered equation in Chapter 4.2 after Eq. (21)); in this equation the factor (1−c_d+) is missing. As a consequence, Eqs. (22)–(30) and Fig. 4 in the original paper have to be revised which is presented in this corrigendum. Numbering of references remains unchanged.     

Erratum to: “Weak corrections to gluon-induced top–antitop hadro-production” [Phys. Lett. B 639 (2006) 513]

This is an Erratum to a Letter of ours [S. Moretti, M.R. Nolten, D.A. Ross, Phys. Lett. B 639 (2006) 513]. After its publication, we have discovered a mistake in a numerical program that affects the results presented therein. We provide here the corrected version.
