Fabrication of micro gratings using a femtosecond laser exposure system is experimentally investigated for the electron moiré method. Micro holes and lines are firstly etched for parameter study. Grating profile is theoretically optimized to form high quality moiré patterns. For a demonstration, a parallel grating is fabricated on a specimen of quartz glass. The minimum line width and the distance between two adjacent lines are both set to be 1 μm, and the frequency of grating is 500 lines/mm. The experimental results indicate that the quality of gratings is good and the relative error of the gratings pitch is about1.5%. Based on moiré method, scanning electron microscope(SEM) moiré patterns are observed clearly,which manifests that gratings fabricated with the femtosecond laser exposure is suitable for micro scale deformation measurement.  相似文献

In this study, the residual strain of a thin conductive metal wire on a polymer substrate after electrical failure is measured with SEM moir′e. Focused ion beam(FIB) milling is applied to fabricate micron moir′e gratings on the surfaces of constantan wires and the random phase shifting technique is used to process moir′e fringes. The virtual strain method is briefly introduced and used to calculate the real strain of specimens. In order to study the influence of a defect on the electrical failure of the constantan wire, experiments were conducted on two specimens, one with a crack, while the other one without any crack. By comparing the results, we found that the defect makes the critical beam current of electrical failure decrease. In addition, the specimens were subjected to compression after electrical failure, in agreement with the observed crack closure of the specimen. The successful results demonstrate that the moir′e method is effective to characterize the full-field deformation of constantan wires on the polymer membrane, and has a good potential for further application to the deformation measurement of thin films.  相似文献

Soft material is becoming increasingly important to many industries, which leads to the demand for a better understanding of its mechanical properties under large deformation. In this paper, a technique of integrating the digital moiré method and embedded-grating approach is presented for investigating mechanical behaviors of a vulcanized silicone rubber in contact with a wedge-shaped indenter. Two distinct deformation sectors are observed from the experimental result. A simple way of computing strain is also presented by analysing grid deformation within the framework of geometrical nonlinearity. Three regions were observed from strain distribution along the horizontal direction: the contact region, the sink-in region and the far-field region.Moreover, the extent of the sticky region and that of the slippy region within the contact interface are distinguished, which can provide realistic data for theoretical modelling. Based on the finite deformation elasticity theory, the distribution of contact pressure and shear stress over the contact interface are derived for prediction of possible cracks.  相似文献

Measurement of out-of-plane deformation is significant to understanding of the deflection mechanisms of the plate and tube structures.In this study,a new surface contouring technique with color structured light is applied to measure the out-of-plane deformation of structures with one-shot projection.Through color fringe recognizing,decoding and triangulation processing for the captured images corresponding to each deformation state,the feasibility of the method is testified by the measurement of elastic deflections of a flexible square plate,showing good agreement with those from the calibrated displacement driver.The plastic deformation of two alloy aluminum rectangular tubes is measured to show the technique application to surface topographic evaluation of the buckling structures with large displacements.  相似文献

In this paper,a general digital picture processing and texture analysis forphotoelasticity is developed Overcoming some defects of references[2]and[3], it presentsan effective method to analyse fringe patterns of the photoelasticity. By means of thetrignometric function relationship between the light intensity I and the image fringe orderN, the equations of the fringe order N on brightness Z are deduced and the mechanicalparameters are thus obtained We established a system of sigital picture processing andtexture analysis for photoelasticity, which is called OYC-l system. As vibration-based structural damage detection methods are easily affected by environmental noise, a new statistic-based noise analysis method is proposed together with the Monte Carlo technique to investigate the influence of experimental noise of modal data on sensitivity-based damage detection methods. Different from the commonly used random perturbation technique, the proposed technique is deduced directly by Moore-Penrose generalized inverse of the sensitivity matrix, which does not only make the analysis process more efficient but also can analyze the influence of noise on both frequencies and mode shapes for three commonly used sensitivity-based damage detection methods in a similar way. A one-story portal frame is adopted to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed noise analysis technique.  相似文献

An alternative technique for crack detection in a Timoshenko beam based on the first anti-resonant frequency is presented in this paper.Unlike the natural frequency,the anti-resonant frequency is a local parameter rather than a global parameter of structures,thus the proposed technique can be used to locate the structural defects.An impedance analysis of a cracked beam stimulated by a harmonic force based on the Timoshenko beam formulation is investigated.In order to characterize the local discontinuity due to cracks,a rotational spring model based on fracture mechanics is proposed to model the crack.Subsequently,the proposed method is verified by a numerical example of a simply-supported beam with a crack.The effect of the crack size on the anti-resonant frequency is investigated.The position of the crack of the simply-supported beam is also determined by the anti-resonance technique.The proposed technique is further applied to the"contaminated"anti-resonant frequency to detect crack damage,which is obtained by adding 1-3% noise to the calculated data.It is found that the proposed technique is effective and free from the environment noise.Finally,an experimental study is performed,which further verifies the validity of the proposed crack identification technique.  相似文献

The convergence analysis of the lower order nonconforming element pro- posed by Park and Sheen is applied to the second-order elliptic problem under anisotropic meshes.The corresponding error estimation is obtained.Moreover,by using the interpo- lation postprocessing technique,a global superconvergence property for the discretization error of the postprocessed discrete solution to the solution itself is derived.Numerical results are also given to verify the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

The split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB) technique and the wave propagation inverse analysis(WPIA) technique are both extensively used to experimentally investigate the impact behavior of materials, although neither of them alone provides a fully satisfactory analysis. In the present paper, attention is given to new experimental techniques by incorporating a damagemodified constitutive model into the SHPB technique and combining the Hopkinson pressure bar(HPB) technique with WPIA. First, to distinguish the response due to dynamic constitutive behavior and the response due to dynamic damage evolution, the SHPB method incorporating a damage-modified constitutive model is developed, including an explicit damage-modified Zhu–Wang–Tang model and an implicit damage-modified constitutive model. Second, when the SHPB results become invalid, a method of combining new Lagrange inverse analyses with the HPB technique is developed, including cases of the HPB arranged in front of a long specimen and behind the specimen. As examples of these new methods, typical results are given for nonlinear viscoelastic polymers and concretes considering damage evolution, a super-elastic Ti–Ni alloy with phase transformation and an aluminum foam with shock waves propagating within it.  相似文献

The consolidation analysis of interaction between structure and saturated soil foundation is discussed. With the use of substructure technique, the structure is condensed onto the interface of the soil, and then the consolidation governing equations to describe the interaction between soil and structure are derived, The solution with non-iterative algorithm is proposed in this paper. The pressure Master-Slave relation method is used to deal with the non-permeability conditions on soil boundaries. A numerical example is illustrated. In this paper, we propose an instantaneous phase-stepping method for determining phase distribution of interference fringes utilizing a camera that is equipped with a micro-polarizer array on the sensor plane. An optical setup of polarization interferometry using a Mach–Zehnder interferometer with two polarizers is constructed. Light emerging from the interferometer is recorded using a camera that has a micro-polarizer array. This micro-polarizer array has four different optical axes. That is, an image obtained by the camera contains four types of information corresponding to four different optical axes of the polarizer. The four images separated from the image recorded by the camera are reconstructed using gray level interpolation. Subsequently, the distributions of the Stokes parameters that represent the state of polarization are calculated from the four images. The phase distribution of the interference fringe pattern produced by the Mach–Zehnder interferometer is then obtained from these Stokes parameters.The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by measuring a static carrier pattern and time-variant fringe patterns. It is emphasized that this method is applicable to time-variant phenomena because multiple exposures are unnecessary for sufficient data acquisition in the completion of the phase analysis.  相似文献

The interferometric particle imaging technique makes use of the angular oscillations of the scattered light in the forward direction for droplet or bubble sizing.The out-of-focus image consists of fringes,the spacing of which reflects the interference between the surface-reflected light and the twofold-refracted light.Total internal reflection occurs when the incident light hits the bubble at a large incident angle.The tunneling phase shift is not included in the geometric optics approximation,which leads to a deviation from Mie theory.In this work,we modified the formula for describing the fringe spacing by including the tunneling phase shift of total internal reflection.Numerical analysis and experiments showed that the modification is effective for the measurement of bubbles smaller than 60μm.  相似文献

A typical airfoil section system with freeplay is investigated in the paper. The classic quasi-steady flow model is applied to calculate the aerodynamics, and a piecewise-stiffness model is adopted to characterize the nonlinearity of the airfoil section’s freeplay. There are two critical speeds in the system, i.e., a lower critical speed, above which the system might generate limit cycle oscillation, and an upper critical one, above which the system will flutter. Then a Poincaré map is constructed for the limit cycle oscillations by using piecewise-linear solutions with and without contact in the system. Through analysis of the Poincaré map, a series of equations which can determine the frequencies of period-1 limit cycle oscillations at any flight velocity are derived. Finally, these analytic results are compared to the results of numerical simulations, and a good agreement is found. The effects of freeplay value and contact stiffness ratio on the limit cycle oscillation are also analyzed through numerical simulations of the original system. Moreover, there exist multi-periods limit cycle oscillations and even complicated "chaotic" oscillations may occur, which are usually found in smooth nonlinear dynamic systems.  相似文献

Applying the multidimensional Lindstedt-Poincaré (MDLP) method, we study the forced vibrations with internal resonance of a clamped-clamped pipe conveying fluid under external periodic excitation. The frequency-amplitude response curves of the first-mode resonance with internal resonance are obtained and its characteristics are discussed; moreover, the motions of the first two modes are also analyzed in detail. The present results reveal rich and complex dynamic behaviors caused by internal resonance and that some of the internal resonances are decided by the excitation amplitude. The MDLP method is also proved to be a simple and efficient technique to deal with nonlinear dynamics.  相似文献

Model reduction technique is usually employed in model updating process.In this paper,a new model updating method named as cross-model cross-frequency response function(CMCF) method is proposed and a new iterative method associating the model updating method with the model reduction technique is investigated.The new model updating method utilizes the frequency response function to avoid the modal analysis process and it does not need to pair or scale the measured and the analytical frequency response function,which could greatly increase the number of the equations and the updating parameters.Based on the traditional iterative method,a correction term related to the errors resulting from the replacement of the reduction matrix of the experimental model with that of the finite element model is added in the new iterative method.Comparisons between the traditional iterative method and the proposed iterative method are shown by model updating examples of solar panels,and both of these two iterative methods combine the CMCF method and the succession-level approximate reduction technique.Results show the effectiveness of the CMCF method and the proposed iterative method.  相似文献

In this paper, a brand-new wavelet-homotopy Galerkin technique is developed to solve nonlinear ordinary or partial differential equations. Before this investigation,few studies have been done for handling nonlinear problems with non-uniform boundary conditions by means of the wavelet Galerkin technique, especially in the field of fluid mechanics and heat transfer. The lid-driven cavity flow and heat transfer are illustrated as a typical example to verify the validity and correctness of this proposed technique. The cavity is subject to the upper and lower walls' motions in the same or opposite directions.The inclined angle of the square cavity is from 0 to π/2. Four different modes including uniform, linear, exponential, and sinusoidal heating are considered on the top and bottom walls, respectively, while the left and right walls are thermally isolated and stationary.A parametric analysis of heating distribution between upper and lower walls including the amplitude ratio from 0 to 1 and the phase deviation from 0 to 2π is conducted. The governing equations are non-dimensionalized in terms of the stream function-vorticity formulation and the temperature distribution function and then solved analytically subject to various boundary conditions. Comparisons with previous publications are given,showing high efficiency and great feasibility of the proposed technique.  相似文献

A new matrix perturbation analysis method is presented for efficient approximatesolution of the complex modal quadratic generalized eigenvalue problem of viscouslydamped linear vibration systems.First,the damping matrix is decomposed into the sum of aproportional-and a nonproportional-damping parts,and the solutions of the real modaleigenproblem with the proportional dampings are determined,which are a set of initialapproximate solutions of the complex modal eigenproblem.Second,by taking thenonproportional-damping part as a small modification to the proportional one and using thematrix perturbation analysis method,a set of approximate solutions of the complex modaleigenvalue problem can be obtained analytically.The result is quite simple.The new methodis applicable to the systems with viscous dampings-which do not deviate far away from theproportional-damping case.It is particularly important that the solution technique be alsoeffective to the systems with heavy,but not over,dampings.The solution formul  相似文献
