Lattice orders on the semigroup ring of a positive rooted monoid are constructed, and it is shown how to make the monoid ring into a lattice-ordered ring with squares positive in various ways. It is proved that under certain conditions these are all of the lattice orders that make the monoid ring into a lattice-ordered ring. In particular, all of the partial orders on the polynomial ring A[x] in one positive variable are determined for which the ring is not totally ordered but is a lattice-ordered ring with the property that the square of every element is positive. In the last section some basic properties of d-elements are considered, and they are used to characterize lattice-ordered division rings that are quadratic extensions of totally ordered division rings.  相似文献

In the present work, we prove that every class of the divisor class group of a Krull monoid algebra contains infinitely many prime divisors. Several attempts to this result have been made in the literature so far, unfortunately with open gaps. We present a complete proof of this fact.  相似文献

Summary We study subposets of the lattice L_1(X) of all T1-topologies on a set X, namely Σt(X), Σ3(X) and Σlc(X), being respectively the collections of all Tychonoff, all T3 and all locally compact Hausdorff topologies on X, with a view to deciding which elements of these partially ordered sets have and which do not have covers, that is to say immediate successors, in the respective posets. This article completes the authors’s series on stability in the Liouville theorem on the Heisenberg group. We show that every mapping with bounded distortion on a John domain of the Heisenberg group is approximated by a conformal mapping with order of closeness √K ? 1 in the uniform norm and with order of closeness K ? 1 in the Sobolev L p 1 -norm for all p < C/K?1. We construct two examples, demonstrating the asymptotic sharpness of our results.  相似文献

This paper details our note [6] and it is an extension of our previous works  and  which dealt with first order (both in time and space) and second order time accurate (second order in time and first order in space) implicit finite volume schemes for second order hyperbolic equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions on general nonconforming multidimensional spatial meshes introduced recently in [14]. We aim in this work (and some forthcoming studies) to get higher order (both in time and space) finite volume approximations for the exact solution of hyperbolic equations using the class of spatial generic meshes introduced recently in [14] on low order schemes from which the matrices used to compute the discrete solutions are sparse. We focus in the present contribution on the one dimensional wave equation and on one of its implicit finite volume schemes described in [4]. The implicit finite volume scheme approximating the one dimensional wave equation we consider (hereafter referred to as the basic finite volume scheme) yields linear systems to be solved successively. The matrices involved in these linear systems are tridiagonal, symmetric and definite positive. The finite volume approximate solution of the basic finite volume scheme is of order h+kh+k, where h (resp. k  ) is the mesh size of the spatial (resp. time) discretization. We construct a new finite volume approximation of order (h+k)2(h+k)2 in several discrete norms which allow us to get approximations of order two for the exact solution and its first derivatives. This new high-order approximation can be computed using linear systems whose matrices are the same ones used to compute the discrete solution of the basic finite volume scheme while the right hand sides are corrected. The construction of these right hand sides includes the approximation of some high order spatial derivatives of the exact solution. The computation of the approximation of these high order spatial derivatives can be performed using the same matrices stated above with another two tridiagonal matrices. The manner by which this new high-order approximation is constructed can be repeated to compute successively finite volume approximations of arbitrary order using the same matrices stated above. These high-order approximations can be obtained on any one dimensional admissible finite volume mesh in the sense of [13] without any condition. To reach the above results, a theoretical framework is developed and some numerical examples supporting the theory are presented. Some of the tools of this framework are new and interesting and they are stated in the one space dimension but they can be extended to several space dimensions. In particular a new and useful a prior estimate for a suitable discrete problem is developed and proved. The proof of this a prior estimate result is based essentially on the decomposition of the solution of the discrete problem into the solutions of two suitable discrete problems. A new technique is used in order to get a convenient finite volume approximation whose discrete time derivatives of order up to order two are also converging towards the solution of the wave equation and their corresponding time derivatives.  相似文献

Experimental observations show that a strong magnetic field has a dramatic influence on the sedimentation of RBCs, which motivates us to model the sedimentation of red blood cell (RBC) under strong external magnetic body force. To model the sedimentation of a RBC in a square duct and a circular pipe, a recently developed technique derived from the lattice Boltzmann and the distributed Lagrange multiplier/fictitious domain methods (LBM-DLM/FD) is extended to employ the mesoscopic network model for simulations of the sedimentation of a RBC in flow. The flow is simulated by the LBM with a strong magnetic body force, while the network model is used for modeling RBC deformation. The fluid-RBC interactions are enforced by the Lagrange multiplier. The sedimentation of RBC in a square duct and a circular pipe is simulated, which demonstrates the developed method's capability to model the sedimentation of RBCs in various flows. Numerical results illustrate that the terminal settling velocity increases incrementally with the exerted body force. The deformation of RBC has a significant effect on the terminal settling velocity due to the change in the frontal area. The larger the exerted force, the smaller the frontal area and the larger the RBC deformation become. Additionally, the wall effect on the motion and deformation of RBC is also investigated.  相似文献

Here fh+, f? denote quadratic potentials defined on Ω¯×{symmetric d×d matrices}, h is the minimum energy of fh+ and ε(u) is the symmetric gradient of the displacement field u. An equilibrium state û, Ê of J(u,E) is called one‐phase if E=?? or E=Ω, two‐phase otherwise. For two‐phase states, σ?E∩Ω∣ measures the effect of the separating surface, and we investigate the way in which the distribution of phases is affected by the choice of the parameters h??, σ>0. Additional results concern the smoothness of two‐phase equilibrium states and the behaviour of inf J(u,E) in the limit σ↓0. We consider a system of three arbitrary quantum particles on a three-dimensional lattice that interact via attractive pair contact potentials.
