We show that the restricted Burnside problem has a positive answer for suitable classes of nuclearly nilpotent loops. Using this technique we give a positive answer to the restricted Burnside problem for Moufang A-loops.  相似文献

We define a new variety of loops, Γ-loops. After showing Γ-loops are power-associative, our main goal is showing a categorical isomorphism between Bruck loops of odd order and Γ-loops of odd order. Once this has been established, we can use the well known structure of Bruck loops of odd order to derive the Odd Order, Lagrange and Cauchy Theorems for Γ-loops of odd order, as well as the nontriviality of the center of finite Γ-p-loops (p odd). Finally, we answer a question posed by Jedli?ka, Kinyon and Vojtěchovský about the existence of Hall π-subloops and Sylow p-subloops in commutative automorphic loops.  相似文献

We give a characterization of webs (P,g 1,g 2,g) which are related to A1-loops, weakK-loops,K-loops and reflection structures. We also obtain a geometric proof of Kreuzer’S result that the concept ofK-loop is equivalent to that of Brück loop. The first author was supported by a grant from the Vigoni project. We say that groups, which are isomorphic to inner mapping groups of finite loops, are loop capable. Let p and q be distinct prime numbers, S a nonabelian group of order pq, and C a finite nontrivial cyclic group such that gcd (|S|, |C|) = 1. We show that the group S × C is not loop capable.  相似文献

A loop whose inner mappings are automorphisms is an automorphic loop (or A-loop). We characterize commutative (A-)loops with middle nucleus of index 2 and solve the isomorphism problem. Using this characterization and certain central extensions based on trilinear forms, we construct several classes of commutative A-loops of order a power of 2. We initiate the classification of commutative A-loops of small orders and also of order p 3, where p is a prime.  相似文献

We prove that each 3-dimensional connected topological loop L having a solvable Lie group of dimension ≤5 as the multiplication group of L is centrally nilpotent of class 2. Moreover, we classify the solvable non-nilpotent Lie groups G which are multiplication groups for 3-dimensional simply connected topological loops L and dim G ≤ 5. These groups are direct products of proper connected Lie groups and have dimension 5. We find also the inner mapping groups of L.  相似文献

Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, and D n be the dihedral group of order 2n, where n is a positive even integer. In this paper, we investigate Yetter-Drinfeld modules over the Hopf-Ore extension A(n, 0) of kD n . We describe the structures and properties of simple Yetter-Drinfeld modules over A(n, 0), and classify all simple Yetter-Drinfeld modules over A(n, 0).  相似文献

Let A be a compact quantum group, let nN * and let A aut(X n ) be the quantum permutation group on n letters. A free wreath product construction A*w A aut(X n ) is introduced. This construction provides new examples of quantum groups, and is useful to describe the quantum automorphism group of the n-times disjoint union of a finite connected graph.  相似文献

The Derived Picard Group is a Locally Algebraic Group   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Let A be a finite-dimensional algebra over an algebraically closed field K. The derived Picard group DPic K (A) is the group of two-sided tilting complexes over A modulo isomorphism. We prove that DPic K (A) is a locally algebraic group, and its identity component is Out0 K (A). If B is a derived Morita equivalent algebra then DPic K (A)DPic K (B) as locally algebraic groups. Our results extend, and are based on, work of Huisgen-Zimmermann, Saorín and Rouquier.  相似文献

Let A be a set and f:AA a bijective function. Necessary and sufficient conditions on f are determined which makes it possible to endow A with a binary operation ? such that (A,?) is a cyclic group and f∈Aut(A). This result is extended to all abelian groups in case |A| = p2, p a prime. Finally, in case A is countably infinite, those f for which it is possible to turn A into a group (A,?) isomorphic to ?n for some n≥1, and with f∈Aut(A), are completely characterized.  相似文献

Let S = kA denote the group algebra of a finitely generated free abelian group A over the field k and let G be a finite subgroup of GL(A). Then G acts on S by means of the unique extension of the natural GL(A)-action on A. We determine the Picard group Pic R of the algebra of invariants R = S G . As an application, we produce new polycyclic group algebras with nontrivial torsion in K 0 . Received: April 25, 1996  相似文献

Let A be a finitely generated abelian group. We describe the automorphism group Aut(A) using the rank of A and its torsion part p-part A p . For a finite abelian p-group A of type (k 1, ..., k n ), simple necessary and sufficient conditions for an n × n-matrix over integers to be associated with an automorphism of A are presented. Then, the automorphism group Aut(A) for a finite p-group A of type (k 1, k 2) is analyzed. An element?σ?of An , the Alternating group of degree n, is extendible in Sn , the Symmetric group of degree n, if there exists a subgroup H of Sn but not An whose intersection with An is the cyclic group generated by σ. A simple number-theoretic criterion, in terms of the cycle-decomposition, for an element of An to be extendible in Sn is given here.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative Noetherian domain and A be a polycyclic-by-finite group. In this paper, it is determined, in terms of properties of R and A when the group ring R[A] is a G-Dedekind prime ring.  相似文献

In this paper we show that in every |T |+‐resplendent model N , for every A ? N such that |A | ≤ |T |, the group Autf(N/A ) of strong automorphisms is the least very normal subgroup of the group Aut(N/A ) and the quotient Aut(N/A )/Autf(N/A ) is the Lascar group over A . Then we generalize this result to every |T |+‐saturated and strongly |T |+‐homogeneous model. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Previously, we dubbed the conjecture that the alternating group An has no semiproportional irreducible characters for any natural n [1]. This conjecture was then shown to be equivalent to the following [3]. Let α and β be partitions of a number n such that their corresponding characters χα and χβ in the group Sn are semiproportional on An. Then one of the partitions α or β is self-associated. Here, we describe all pairs (α, β) of partitions satisfying the hypothesis and the conclusion of the latter conjecture. Let B be a class of groups A which are soluble, equationally Noetherian, and have a central series A = A1 ⩾ A2 ⩾ … An ⩾ … such that ⋂An = 1 and all factors An/An+1 are torsion-free groups; D is a direct product of finitely many cyclic groups of infinite or prime orders. We prove that the wreath product D ≀ A is an equationally Noetherian group. As a consequence we show that free soluble groups of arbitrary derived lengths and ranks are equationally Noetherian. A proper subgroup A of a finite group G is said to be primitive or meet-irreducible if there is a unique subgroup A0 ≤ G such that A is a maximal subgroup of A0. In this case we say that |A0: A| is the small index of A and denote it by |G: A|0. In this article, we study the influence of meet-irreducible subgroups and their small indexes on the structure of G. In particular, we prove that a finite group G is supersoluble if and only if |G: A|0 = |G: B|0 for any two meet-irreducible subgroups A and B of G with AG = BG.  相似文献

In 1950s, Tutte introduced the theory of nowhere-zero flows as a tool to investigate the coloring problem of maps, together with his most fascinating conjectures on nowhere-zero flows. These have been extended by Jaeger et al. in 1992 to group connectivity, the nonhomogeneous form of nowhere-zero flows. Let G be a 2-edge-connected undirected graph, A be an (additive) abelian group and A* = A − {0}. The graph G is A-connected if G has an orientation D(G) such that for every map b: V (G) ↦ A satisfying Σ vV(G) b(v) = 0, there is a function f: E(G) ↦ A* such that for each vertex vV (G), the total amount of f-values on the edges directed out from v minus the total amount of f-values on the edges directed into v is equal to b(v). The group coloring of a graph arises from the dual concept of group connectivity. There have been lots of investigations on these subjects. This survey provides a summary of researches on group connectivity and group colorings of graphs. It contains the following sections.
