The statistical properties of Lagrangian particle transport are investigated in dissipative drift-wave turbulence modelled by the Hasegawa-Wakatani system. By varying the adiabaticity parameter c, the flow regime can be modified from a hydrodynamic limit for c=0 to a geostrophic limit for c. For c of order unity the quasi-adiabatic regime is obtained, which might be relevant to describe the edge turbulence of fusion plasmas in tokamaks. This particularity of the model allows one to study the change in dynamics when varying from one turbulent flow regime to another. By means of direct numerical simulation we consider four values for c and show that the Lagrangian dynamics is most intermittent in the hydrodynamic regime, while the other regimes are not or only weakly intermittent. In both quasi-adiabatic and quasi-geostrophic regimes the PDFs of acceleration exhibit exponential tails. This behaviour is due to the pressure term in the acceleration and not a signature of intermittency.  相似文献

The Lagrangian velocity statistics of dissipative drift-wave turbulence are investigated. For large values of the adiabaticity (or small collisionality), the probability density function of the Lagrangian acceleration shows exponential tails, as opposed to the stretched exponential or algebraic tails, generally observed for the highly intermittent acceleration of Navier-Stokes turbulence. This exponential distribution is shown to be a robust feature independent of the Reynolds number. For small adiabaticity, algebraic tails are observed, suggesting the strong influence of point-vortex-like dynamics on the acceleration. A causal connection is found between the shape of the probability density function and the autocorrelation of the norm of the acceleration.  相似文献

Intermittency effects and the associated multiscaling spectrum of exponents are investigated for impurities advection in tokamak edge plasmas. The two-dimensional Hasagawa-Wakatani model of resistive drift-wave turbulence is used as a paradigm to describe edge tokamak turbulence. Impurities are considered as a passive scalar advected by the plasma turbulent flow. The use of the extended self-similarity technique shows that the structure function relative scaling exponent of impurity density and vorticity follows the She-Leveque model. This confirms the intermittent character of the impurities advection in the turbulent plasma flow and suggests that impurities are advected by vorticity filaments.  相似文献

Using laser induced fluorescence and passive spectroscopy on a magnetically confined low-temperature plasma, anomalous ion heating is observed which exceeds collisional heating from the electrons by a factor of up to five. Direct wave heating due to the 2.45?GHz microwave as well as stochastic heating by large-amplitude fluctuations could be ruled out as explanations. Good quantitative agreement is found when comparing the missing power in the ion species with heating power due to the dissipation of drift-wave turbulence. This turbulent energy transfer into the ion channel could have important consequences for the interpretation of transport in fusion plasmas.  相似文献

A streamer, which is a bunching of drift-wave fluctuations, and its mediator, which generates the streamer by coupling with other fluctuations, have been observed in a cylindrical magnetized plasma. Their radial structures were investigated in detail by using the biphase analysis. Their quasi-two-dimensional structures were revealed to be equivalent with a pair of fast and slow modes predicted by a nonlinear Schr?dinger equation based on the Hasegawa-Mima model.  相似文献

We analytically compute the probability distribution function (PDF) of the local Reynolds stress ( R) for forced Hasegawa-Mima turbulence. With the assumption that the PDF tail is due to an instanton with the spatial form given by the modon solution, the tail of the PDF of R is found to be a stretched, non-Gaussian exponential, with the specific form exp[-cR(3/2)] ( c is a constant). We relate the temporal localization of the instanton to the degree of "burstiness" of the momentum transport event.  相似文献

A new factor M is proposed to characterize the similarity of the behavior of a partially coherent beam (PCB) to its coherent counterpart when propagating through atmospheric turbulence. It is shown that there exists a boundary in the range of the source coherent length. The decreasing rates of free space angular spreading and of turbulence distance with the source coherent length are different before and after the coherent length arriving at the boundary value, by which the change trend of M can be concluded.  相似文献

采用积分变换技巧,推导出了环状光束通过湍流大气传输二阶矩束宽的解析表达式,并研究了湍流对环状光束扩展的影响.另一方面,通过分析二阶矩束宽给出了环状光束不受湍流影响的传输范围,指出环状光束将不受到湍流大气影响的条件.研究表明,光束遮拦比ε、阶数MN)、波长λ越大,束宽w0越小,则环状光束受湍流大气的影响就越小.并对所得到的主要结果给出了合理的物理解释. 关键词: 环状光束 大气湍流 二阶矩束宽  相似文献

The Charney-Hasegawa-Mima equation applies to a broad variety of hydrodynamic systems ranging from the large-scale planetary circulations to small-scale processes in magnetically confined plasma. This equation harbors flow regimes that have not yet been fully understood. One of those is the recently discovered regime of zonostrophic turbulence emerging in the case of small-scale forced, barotropic two-dimensional turbulence on the surface of a rotating sphere or in its beta-plane approximation. The commingling of strong nonlinearity, strong anisotropy and Rossby waves underlying this regime is highlighted by the emergence of stable systems of alternating zonal jets and a new class of nonlinear waves, or zonons. This Letter elucidates the physics of the zonons and their relation to the large-scale coherent structures.  相似文献

Based on the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle and the hard-edge aperture function expanded as the sum of finite-term complex Gaussian function, analytical expression for average intensity of truncated Gaussian beam in Kolmogorov turbulence is derived, and some limiting cases are discussed. The influences of many factors, such as Fresnel number, wavelength, truncation parameter and structure constant on beam spreading are studied with the help of the average intensity formula. We found that the peak value of average intensity decreases and the beam spot spreads with the decrease of Fresnel number. The change of peak intensity against Fresnel number is slower with large aperture than that with small aperture. When Fresnel number is not small enough the influence of turbulence on intensity profiles is so small that can be neglected if structure constant is small.  相似文献

以厄米-双曲余弦-高斯(H-ChG)光束为例,对H-ChG光束通过大气湍流传输时的束宽扩展和角扩展做了详细研究.用相对束宽和相对角扩展代替束宽和角扩展来研究湍流对光束影响的灵敏程度.研究表明,折射率结构常数C2n越小,光束束宽扩展和角扩展越小.有较大阶数m,n,较小参数Ω0和束腰宽度w0 H-ChG光束的角扩展受湍流影响较小.当传输距离足够远时,这一结论对H-ChG光束的束宽扩展也成立.当传输距离不长时,对H-ChG光束相对束宽随Ω0w0的变化规律做了分析.用数值计算例做了说明,并对结果的正确性做了物理解释.厄米-高斯,双曲余弦高斯和高斯光束在大气湍流中的扩展可作为H-ChG光束的特例来处理. 关键词: 束宽扩展和角扩展 大气湍流 厄米-双曲余弦-高斯光束  相似文献

本文推导出了高斯列阵光束在非Kolmogorov大气湍流中传输的瑞利区间zR、湍流距离zT和远场发散角θ的解析表达式,研究了非Kolmogorov湍流的广义指数α和列阵光束的合成方式对高斯列阵光束扩展的影响.研究表明:不论相干还是非相干合成高斯列阵光束,zR,zT和θ均随着α的增加而呈非单调变化.当α=3.108时,zR和zT取极小值,而θ取极大值,即当α=3.108时高斯列阵光束扩展最厉害,光束扩展受湍流影响也最厉害.非相干合成高斯列阵光束扩展比相干合成的要大,但受非Kolmogorov湍流影响却要小.特别值得指出的是:当自由空间光束衍射较小时,有zTzR,即在瑞利区间范围内大气湍流就对光束扩展有影响;而当自由空间光束衍射较大时,有zTzR,即在瑞利区间范围内大气湍流对光束扩展几乎没有影响.  相似文献

The average spreading and directionality of broadband partially coherent beam (BPCB) in non-Kolmogorov turbulence is studied. The effects of exponent value α, propagation distance, spectrum width, inner and outer scale parameters is studied in detail. Numerical calculation reveals that the beam width increases with the increasing in spectrum bandwidth just like when propagating in Kolmogorov turbulence, however, the beam width may vary as much as by a factor of 50% with different α. The difference in beam width between monochromatic partially coherent beam (MPCB) and BPCB at the receiving plane may vary from 2% to 10% with different α. The angular spreading is more sensitive to α than the spectrum bandwidth; also it is more sensitive to the inner scale parameters than the outer scale parameter.  相似文献

Nikishov等建立的海洋湍流功率谱模型中,假设了海水有着稳定的分层.但是,实际海水通常不是稳定分层的,温度与盐度的涡流扩散率是不相等的.2017年,Elamassie等建立了考虑这些因素的更合理的海洋湍流功率谱模型.湍流介质中光波空间相干长度等基本特征参量在表征湍流强度和光传输相位校正技术等方面起着重要作用.本文基于Elamassie海洋湍流功率谱模型,重新推导出了海洋湍流中光波结构函数、光波空间相干长度和Fried参数的解析公式,并校验了所得公式的正确性.研究发现:当温度变化引起的光学湍流占主导地位时,Nikishov海洋湍流功率谱模型把湍流强度低估了;当盐度变化引起的光学湍流占主导地位时,Nikishov海洋湍流功率谱模型把湍流强度高估了.基于Elamassie海洋湍流功率谱模型,本文推导出了高斯光束短期光束扩展的半解析公式,并验证了其正确性.研究还表明:海水稳定分层与否,短期光束扩展差异很大.本文研究结果对水下湍流环境中的光通信、成像和传感等应用具有重要意义.  相似文献

In the past half a century, satellite laser communication has caught the attention of scientists due to its distinct advantages in comparison with conventional satellite microwave communication. For ground-to-satellite and satellite-to-ground data links, the atmosphere is a part of the communication channel; thus, atmospheric turbulence severely degrades the performance of satellite laser communication systems. In general, the Kolmogorov turbulence model is used to study the effect of atmosphere turbulence on satellite laser communications since it has been confirmed by numerous direct measurements of temperature and humidity fluctuations in the atmospheric boundary layer. However, increasing experimental evidence and theoretical investigations have shown that the Kolmogorov theory is sometimes inadequate to describe atmospheric statistics properly, in particular, in some domains of the atmosphere. We analyze the joint influence of Kolmogorov turbulence from the ground to 6 km and non-Kolmogorov turbulence above 6 km on the spot size associated with the uplink and downlink propagation channels for a satellite laser communication system in the geosynchronous orbit, using a power spectrum of non-Kolmogorov turbulence with power law ?5 that describes the refractiveindex fluctuations in the atmosphere above 6 km and considering the combined power spectrum of Kolmogorov and non-Kolmogorov turbulence. Before this analysis, we study the joint influence of the Kolmogorov turbulence from the ground to 6 km and non-Kolmogorov turbulence above 6 km on the scintillation indices of laser beams.  相似文献
