We describe an automatic quadrature routine which is specifically designed for real functions having a certain type of infinite oscillating tails. The algorithm is designed to integrate a vector function over an infinite interval. A FORTRAN implementation of the algorithm is included.The algorithm combines an adaptive subdivision strategy with extrapolation and requires that the decay of all the functions in the vector is the same. The algorithm is based on the assumption that the oscillating behavior is due to a periodic function with the property that it changes sign when evaluated at points of distance half a period. We assume that this period is known. The algorithm offers a choice of three different quasi-linear extrapolation procedures, namely the Euler transformation and two modifications of this transformation.This work was supported by The Norwegian Research Council for Science and the Humanities.  相似文献

Based on the geometric grid information as geometric coordinates, an algebraic multigrid (AMG) method with the interpolation reproducing the rigid body modes (namely the kernel elements of semi-definite operator arising from linear elasticity) is constructed, and such method is applied to the linear elasticity problems with a traction free boundary condition and crystal problems with free boundary conditions as well. The results of various numerical experiments in two dimensions are presented. It is shown from the numerical results that the constructed AMG method is robust and efficient for such semi-definite problems, and the convergence is uniformly bounded away from one independent of the problem size. Furthermore, the AMG method proposed in this paper has better convergence rate than the commonly used AMG methods. Simultaneously, an AMG method that can preserve the quotient space, which means that if the exact solution of original problem belongs to the quotient space of discrete operator considered, then the numerical solution of AMG method is convergent in the same quotient space, is obtained using the technique of orthogonal decomposition.  相似文献

In this paper an analytical integration scheme is described that is designed to reduce the errors resulting from the numerical evaluation of integrals with singular integrands. The analytical scheme can be applied to linear triangular elements for use in elastostatic problems and is particularly useful for predicting distortion, to high accuracy, close to surfaces. It is demonstrated that although the analytical scheme takes longer computationally than the usual quadrature approach it is quicker when element subdivision is required to achieve reasonable accuracy. Numerical tests are performed on a simple test problem to demonstrate the advantages of the analytical approach, which is shown to be orders of magnitude more accurate than standard quadrature techniques.  相似文献

Capillary dynamics has been and is yet an important field of research, because of its very relevant role played as the core mechanism at the base of many applications. In this context, we are particularly interested in the liquid penetration inspection technique. Because of the obviously needed level of reliability involved with such a non‐destructive test, this paper is devoted to study how the presence of an entrapped gas in a close‐end capillary may affect the inspection outcome. This study is carried out through a one‐dimensional ordinary differential model that despite its simplicity is able to point out quite well the capillary dynamics under the effect of an entrapped gas. The paper is divided into two main parts; the first starts from an introductory historical review of capillary flows modelling, goes on presenting the one‐dimensional second order ordinary differential model, taking into account the presence of an entrapped gas and therefore ends by showing some numerical simulation results. The second part is devoted to the analytical study of the model by separating the initial transitory behaviour from the stationary one. Besides, these solutions are compared with the numerical ones, and finally, an expression is deduced for the threshold radius switching from a fully damped transitory to an oscillatory one. The boundary element method as it applies to three-dimensional elasto-static problems is implemented using isoparametric quadratic elements. A scheme for resolving the problems of traction vector discontinuity is presented and the required additional equations are derived. Example problems considered, including the stress analysis of a three-dimensional gear tooth, demonstrate that high accuracy may be achieved using a relatively small number of elements if continuity of displacements and discontinuity of tractions are properly implemented.  相似文献

This paper provides a Hamiltonian formulation of equations of motion of an artificial satellite or space debris moving in Low Earth orbit (LEO). This Hamiltonian is the base to develop an analytical theory of order three, which the theory has been formulated using canonical transformations using Hori-Lie method. The theory accounts for the influence of the Earth gravity field up to degree and order of geopotential harmonics (50 × 50), luni-solar perturbations, solar radiation pressure, atmospheric drag, albedo forces, and the post Newtonian effects arising from Schwarzschild solutions. In this theory, we pay particular attention to the resonance and very long period perturbations, which are modeled with the use of semi-secular terms. The fourth order Runge–Kutta numerical integrator is used to integrate the equations of motion in order to compare with the analytical theory. Including all possible perturbations, in particularly Aledo force and post Newtonian effect in addition to the adequate section of the integrator found to have an importance on the improving the accuracy of the current theory compared with the previous solution. The orbital theory is precise and enables the short term predictions on a few centimeters level. Finally, we show some results concerning the short term dynamics of a different satellite and space debris in LEO under the influence of the considered perturbations.  相似文献

In this paper, we present the numerical analysis on high order dual parametric finite element methods for the cavitation computation problems in nonlinear elasticity, which leads to a meshing strategy assuring high efficiency on numerical approximations to cavity deformations. Furthermore, to cope with the high order approximation of the finite element methods, properly chosen weighted Gaussian type numerical quadrature is applied to the singular part of the elastic energy. Our numerical experiments show that the high order dual parametric finite element methods work well when coupled with properly designed weighted Gaussian type numerical quadratures for the singular part of the elastic energy, and the convergence rates of the numerical cavity solutions are shown to be significantly improved as expected.  相似文献

This paper studies the cost distribution characteristics in multi-stage supply chain networks. Based on the graphical evaluation and review technique, we propose a novel stochastic network mathematical model for cost distribution analysis in multi-stage supply chain networks. Further, to investigate the effects of cost components, including the procurement costs, inventory costs, shortage costs, production costs and transportation costs of supply chain members, on the total supply chain operation cost, we propose the concept of cost sensitivity and provide corresponding algorithms based on the proposed stochastic network model. Then the model is extended to analyze the cost performance of supply chain robustness under different order compensation ability scenarios and the corresponding algorithms are developed. Simulation experiment shows the effectiveness and flexibility of the proposed model, and also promotes a better understanding of the model approach and its managerial implications in cost management of supply chains.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a Chebyshev polynomial method for the calculation of line integrals along curves with Cauchy principal value or Hadamard finite part singularities. The major point we address is how to reconstruct the value of the integral when the parametrization of the curve is unknown and only empirical data are available at some discrete set of nodes. We replace the curve by a near‐minimax parametric polynomial approximation, and express the integrand by means of a sum of Chebyshev polynomials. We make use of a mapping property of the Hadamard finite part operator to calculate the value of the integral. In this paper, the three‐dimensional initial value problem for elastic system in inhomogeneous orthotropic media is considered and an analytical method is studied to solve this problem. The system is written in terms of Fourier images of displacements with respect to lateral variables. The resulting problem is reduced to integral equations of the Volterra type, whose solution is obtained by the method of successive approximations. Finally, using the real Paley‐Wiener theorem, it is shown that the solution of the initial value problem can be found by the inverse Fourier transform.  相似文献

An electrical power system is a large scale system composed of complicated and sophisticated combination of multiple electronic and electromechanical components. In general, these components are nonlinear. Power system is also characterized by a wide range of normal operating conditions which continuously vary. To help the designer study the voltage control problems in power systems, a simulation tool is presented in this paper. It is based on decomposition of the overall system simulation task into three subtasks so as to attain both computational efficiency and flexibility. This article is devoted to the development and application of an Eulerian‐Lagrangian method (ELM) for the solution of the Black‐Scholes partial differential equation for the valuation of European option contracts. This method fully utilizes the transient behavior of the governing equations and generates very accurate option's fair values and their derivatives also known as option Greeks, even if coarse spatial grids and large time steps are used. Numerical experiments on two standard option contracts are presented which show that the ELM method (favorably) compares in terms of accuracy and efficiency to many other well‐perceived methods. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The quality of the mesh used in the finite element discretizations will affect the efficiency of solving the discreted linear systems. The usual algebraic solvers except multigrid method do not consider the effect of the grid geometry and the mesh quality on their convergence rates. In this paper, we consider the hierarchical quadratic discretizations of three‐dimensional linear elasticity problems on some anisotropic hexahedral meshes and present a new two‐level method, which is weakly independent of the size of the resulting problems by using a special local block Gauss–Seidel smoother, that is LBGS_v iteration when used for vertex nodes or LBGS_m iteration for midside nodes. Moreover, we obtain the efficient algebraic multigrid (AMG) methods by applying DAMG (AMG based on distance matrix) or DAMG‐PCG (PCG with DAMG as a preconditioner) to the solution of the coarse level equation. The resulting AMG methods are then applied to a practical example as a long beam. The numerical results verify the efficiency and robustness of the proposed AMG algorithms. This paper is concerned with the effect of numerical integration applied to the discontinuous Galerkin finite element discretization of nonlinear convection‐diffusion problems in 2D. In the space semidiscretization the volume and line integrals are evaluated by numerical quadratures.
