Consider an evolution family U=(U(t,s))t?s?0 on a half-line R+ and an integral equation . We characterize the exponential dichotomy of the evolution family through solvability of this integral equation in admissible function spaces which contain wide classes of function spaces like function spaces of Lp type, the Lorentz spaces Lp,q and many other function spaces occurring in interpolation theory. We then apply our results to study the robustness of the exponential dichotomy of evolution families on a half-line under small perturbations.  相似文献

After a discussion of a space of test functions and the corresponding space of distributions, a family of Banach spaces (B, ∥ ∥B) in standard situation is described. These are spaces of distributions having a pointwise module structure and also a module structure with respect to convolution. The main results concern relations between the different spaces associated to B established by means of well-known methods from the theory of Banach modules, among them B0 and B?, the closure of the test functions in B and the weak relative completion of B, respectively. The latter is shown to be always a dual Banach space. The main diagram, given in Theorem 4.7, gives full information concerning inclusions between these spaces, showing also a complete symmetry. A great number of corresponding formulas is established. How they can be applied is indicated by selected examples, in particular by certain Segal algebras and the Ap-algebras of Herz. We will introduce the countable separation property (CSP) of Banach spaces X, which is defined as follows: X has CSP if each family E of closed linear subspaces of X whose intersection is the zero space contains a countable subfamily E0 with the same intersection. All separable Banach spaces have CSP and plenty of examples of non-separable CSP spaces are provided. Connections of CSP with Marku?evi?-bases, Corson property and related geometric issues are discussed.  相似文献

We show that any Banach space contains a continuum of non-isomorphic subspaces or a minimal subspace. We define an ergodic Banach space X as a space such that E0 Borel reduces to isomorphism on the set of subspaces of X, and show that every Banach space is either ergodic or contains a subspace with an unconditional basis which is complementably universal for the family of its block-subspaces. We also use our methods to get uniformity results. We show that an unconditional basis of a Banach space, of which every block-subspace is complemented, must be asymptotically c0 or ?p, and we deduce some new characterisations of the classical spaces c0 and ?p.  相似文献

In this paper we consider proximinality questions for higher ordered dual spaces. We show that for a finite dimensional uniformly convex space X, the space C(K,X) is proximinal in all the duals of even order. For any family of uniformly convex Banach spaces {Xα}{αΓ} we show that any finite co-dimensional proximinal subspace of X=c0Xα is strongly proximinal in all the duals of even order of X.  相似文献

In this paper, we analyze the linear structure of the family H e (G) of holomorphic functions on a domain G of the complex plane that are not analytically continuable beyond the boundary of G. We prove that H e (G) contains, except for zero, a dense algebra; and, under appropriate conditions, the subfamily of H e (G) consisting of boundary-regular functions contains dense vector spaces with maximal dimension as well as infinite dimensional closed vector spaces and large algebras. We also consider the case in which G is a domain of existence in a complex Banach space. The results obtained complete or extend a number of previous results by several authors.  相似文献

Within the class of Tychonoff spaces, and within the class of topological groups, most of the natural questions concerning ‘productive closure’ of the subclasses of countably compact and pseudocompact spaces are answered by the following three well-known results: (1) [ZFC] There is a countably compact Tychonoff space X such that X × X is not pseudocompact; (2) [ZFC] The product of any set of pseudocompact topological groups is pseudocompact; and (3) [ZFC+ MA] There are countably compact topological groups G0, G1 such that G0 × G1 is not countably compact.In this paper we consider the question of ‘productive closure” in the intermediate class of homogeneous spaces. Our principal result, whose proof leans heavily on a simple, elegant result of V.V. Uspenski?, is this: In ZFC there are pseudocompact, homogeneous spaces X0, X1 such that X0 × X1 is not pseudocompact; if in addition MA is assumed, the spaces Xi may be chosen countably compact.Our construction yields an unexpected corollary in a different direction: Every compact space embeds as a retract in a countably compact, homogeneous space. Thus for every cardinal number α there is a countably compact, homogeneous space whose Souslin number exceeds α.  相似文献

An elementary proof of the (known) fact that each element of the Banach space? w p (X) of weakly absolutelyp-summable sequences (if 1≤p<∞) in the Banach spaceX is the norm limit of its sections if and only if each element of? w p (X) is a norm null sequence inX, is given. Little modification to this proof leads to a similar result for a family of Orlicz sequence spaces. A self-contained account of the theory of sub-Stonean spaces, and their relations to Stonean spaces and Rickart spaces is given. Of particular interest are the corona sets (of the form β(X) for locally compact, σ-compact spaces, because these highly nontrivial sub-Stonean spaces lend themselves to C?ech-cohomological considerations. The theory of sub-Stonean spaces is essential for our solution of the diagonalization problem for C(X)? Mn, found in K. Grove and G. K. The nonthick geometries of type Cn and Dn or equivalently all polar spaces having at least one line of cardinality 2 are classified. It turns out that there are two classes of such polar spaces. On the one hand, decomposable polar spaces or polar spaces which are direct sums of two or more polar spaces are obtained. We prove the existence of stable manifolds of solutions to this equation in the case that (U(t,s))t?s?0 has an exponential dichotomy and the nonlinear forcing term f(t,x) satisfies the non-uniform Lipschitz conditions: ‖f(t,x1)−f(t,x2)‖?φ(t)‖x1x2‖ for φ being a real and positive function which belongs to admissible function spaces which contain wide classes of function spaces like function spaces of Lp type, the Lorentz spaces Lp,q and many other function spaces occurring in interpolation theory.  相似文献

We construct a family (Xγ) of reflexive Banach spaces with long (countable as well as uncountable) transfinite bases but with no unconditional basic sequences. The method we introduce to achieve this allows us to considerably control the structure of subspaces of the resulting spaces as well as to precisely describe the corresponding spaces on non-strictly singular operators. For example, for every pair of countable ordinals γ,β, we are able to decompose every bounded linear operator from Xγ to Xβ as the sum of a diagonal operator and an strictly singular operator. We also show that every finite-dimensional subspace of any member Xγ of our class can be moved by and (4+?)-isomorphism to essentially any region of any other member Xδ or our class. Finally, we find subspaces X of Xγ such that the operator space L(X,Xγ) is quite rich but any bounded operator T from X into X is a strictly singular pertubation of a scalar multiple of the identity.  相似文献

It is shown that any interpolation scales joining weight spaces L p or similar spaces have many remarkable properties. The general question, “When is the product of Fréchet spaces Fréchet?” really depends on the questions of when a product of α4 Fréchet spaces (also known as strongly Fréchet or countably bisequential spaces) is α4, and when it is Fréchet. Two subclasses of the class of strongly Fréchet spaces shed much light on these questions. These are the class of α3 Fréchet spaces and its subclass of 0-bisequential spaces. The latter is closed under countable products, the former not even under finite products. A number of fundamental results and open problems are recalled, some further highlighting the difference between being α3 and Fréchet and being 0-bisequential.  相似文献
