Acrylonitrile (AN) has been copolymerized with vinyltriethoxy-silane (VTES) and vinyltris(methoxy ethoxy)silane (VTMES) in bulk at 60°C using benzoyl peroxide. The copolymer composition has been determined from elemental analysis. The reactivity ratios of AN (MI) copolymerizations with VTES (r1 = 4.72, r2 = 0) and VTMES (r1 = 2.45, r2 = 0) have been determined. Mechanistic explanations of the monomer reactivities are presented. The structure-property relationship of AN-vinylsilane copolymers has been discussed.  相似文献

The J = 0 → 1 and J = 1 → 2 transitions of thirteen isotopic species of carbon monoxide-borane (BH3CO) have been measured. The heavy atom r2 structural parameters have been calculated in several ways so as to minimize the effects of the small carbon coordinate. The structural parameters found are: d(B-C) = 1.534 ± 0.01 Å, d(C-O)= 1.135 ± 0.01 Å. d(B-H)= 1.221 ± 0.001 Å, ∠HBC = 103.79 ± 0.06°, and ∠HBH = 114.50 ± 0.15°. In addition, a complete r0 structure has been calculated by least-squares fitting the moments of inertia of all the isotopic species. A dipole moment of 1.698 ± 0.02 D was determined.  相似文献

The radical polymerization of N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide was investigated kinetically. The hydrophilic character of the polymerization medium was found to affect the rate of decomposition of the initiator [2,2′-azobis(methyl isobutyrate)] and the course of primary radical termination. The presence of the -OH group in the alkyl group attached to the nitrogen atom leads to an increase in the molecular weight of the polymer in comparison with polymers of N-alkyl methacrylamides. This phenomenon was interpreted in terms of the possibility of a polymeranalogous transesteramidation and of an increased possibility of transfer to monomer and polymer. The copolymerization parameters of N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide (M1) with methyl methacrylate and styrene were determined; in the first case, r1 = 0·84 ± 0·05, r2 = 0·66 ± 0·07; in the second case, r1 = 0·53 ± 0·08, r2 = 1·72 ± 0·19.  相似文献

N-(2-thiazolyl)methacrylamide (TMA) monomer was synthesized from 2-aminothiazole by two different methods. The homo- and copolymerization of this monomer with methyl methacrylate (MMA), styrene (St), acrylonitrile (AN), and vinyl acetate (VA) were performed in dimethyl formamide using 1 mol% AIBN at 70°C. The copolymerization behavior was studied in a wide composition interval with the mole fractions of TMA ranging from 0.1 to 0.7 in the feed. Characterization using FTIR and 1HNMR techniques confirmed the structure of the monomer and the prepared homo- and copolymers, but the copolymers compositions were determined from sulphur analysis. The monomer reactivity ratios were computed using Fineman and Ross and Kelen and Tüdös methods for the systems TMA-MMA, TMA-St, TMA-AN and TMA-VA and were found to be r 1 = 0.59 ± 0.05, r 2 = 2.72 ± 0.03; r 1 = 0.39 ± 0.02, r 2 = 0.90 ± 0.01; r 1 = 0.77 ± 0.06, r 2 = 1.99 ± 0.04 and r 1 = 0.80 ± 0.08, r 2 = 0.40 ± 0.05 respectively (r 1 corresponds to monomer reactivity ratio of TMA). The Q and e values for TMA monomer were found to be 1.079 and ?0.054. The synthesized monomer and polymers were tested in vitro for biological activity against some microorganisms, using the disk diffusion technique. Generally, all the polymers were effective against the tested microorganisms, but their growth-inhibition effects varied.  相似文献

A Fortran IV program for determining copolymerization reactivity ratios is proposed. The program is based on the curve-fitting method and has the advantage of delivering values free of personal judgement. To check its validity the system benzylacrylate (BeA)/methylmethacrylate (MMA) was investigated. The reactivity ratios obtained from the Fineman-Ross plots (r1 = 0 · 34 ± 10 per cent and r2 = 1 · 7 ± 10 per cent) are in good agreement with values obtained by using the proposed method (r1 = 0 · 36 and r2 = 1 · 78).  相似文献

Dibutylchlorotin acrylate (DBCTA), dibutylchlorotin methyl maleate (DBCTM) and dibutylchlorotin cinnamate (DBCTC) were prepared by metathesis reactions between equimolar proportions of dibutyltin dichloride and the corresponding dibutyltin dicarboxylate. The acrylate (DBCTA) was the only monomer to undergo free-radical homopolymerization and gave an insoluble cross-linked polymer of poly(dibutyltin diacrylate) with the expulsion of dibutyltin dichloride. Free-radical copolymerization with methyl acrylate (MA) gave copolymers with DBCTA and DBCTC. The reactivity ratios were respectively: MA, r1 = 0.81 ± 0.05; DBCTA, r2 = 0.08 ± 0.04 and MA, r1 = 2.0 ± 0.35 DBCTC, r2 = 0 ± 0.2. DBCTM did not copolymerize with methyl acrylate.Attempts at free-radical copolymerizations with vinyl chloride (VC) were only partially successful due to severe inhibition. DBCTM and DBCTC formed very low molecular weight copolymers containing approximately equal amounts of the comonomers. DBCTA copolymer with VC formed a copoly(dibutyltin diacrylate) network structure. However, solubility in acetic acid-d4 due to an exchange equilibrium allowed an estimate of the reactivity ratio rvc ≌ 0.17 to be obtained by NMR analysis.Three new tetrabutyl-1,3-di(carboxy) distannoxanes ([Bu2SnOCOR]2O) (R = CHCH2; C(CH3)CH2 and CHCHC6H5) were prepared.  相似文献

Spontaneous homopolymerization of 2,5-dimethylene-2,5-dihydrofuran (DDF) was studied. The polymerization rates in two different initial monomer concentrations of DDF were analyzed with the first-order and second-order kinetics, and the homopolymerization of DDF was found to obey the first-order kinetics. The Arrhenius plot of the apparent rate constants at 30, 40, 50, and 60° gave an overall activation energy of 68.0 kJ/mol for the polymerization of DDF. From the comparison of the apparent rate constants at –78° and the time (the so-called half-life time) to decrease in half the monomer concentration for DDF with the corresponding values for p-xylylene (QM), DDF was found to be a less reactive monomer than QM. The copolymerizations of DDF with vinyl monomers such as acrylonitrile (AN), α-chloroacrylonitrile (CIAN), diethyl fumarate (DEF), and fumaronitrile (FN) were carried out in chloroform at 50° in the presence of AIBN to obtain the monomer reactivity ratios r1(DDF) = 30.0 ± 3.0 and r2 (AN) = 0 for the DDF-AN system, r1 (DDF) = 1.55 ± 0.2 and r2(CIAN) = 0 for the DDF-CIAN system, r1(DDF) = 3.88 ± 0.2 and r2(DEF) = 0 for the DDF-DEF system, and r1(DDF) = 2.41 ± 0.1 and r2 (FN) = 0 for the DDF-FN system, respectively. As the monomer reactivity ratios of r2 for all systems were zero, Q and e values of DDF were calculated from the combination of two r1 (DDF) values of any two copolymerization systems to be the 7.64 to 6.63 ×1021 range for Q and the –0.70 to –6.31 range for e, indicating that DDF is a highly conjugative and electron-donating monomer. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Copolymers of 2-sulfoethyl methacrylate, (SEM) were prepared with ethyl methacrylate, ethyl acrylate, vinylidene chloride, and styrene in 1,2-dimethoxyethane solution with N,N′-azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator. The monomer reactivity ratios with SEM (M1) were: vinylidene chloride, r1 = 3.6 ± 0.5, r2 = 0.22 ± 0.03; ethyl acrylate, r1 = 3.2 ± 0.6, r2 = 0.30 ± 0.05; ethyl methacrylate, r1 = 2.0 ± 0.4, r2 = 1.0 ± 0.1; styrene, r1 = 0.6 ± 0.2, r2 = 0.37 ± 0.03. The values of the copolymerization parameters calculated from the monomer reactivity ratios were e = +0.6 and Q = 1.4. Comparison of the monomer reactivities indicates that SEM is similar to ethyl methacrylate with regard to copolymerization reactivity in 1,2-dimethoxyethane solution. The sodium salt of 2-sulfoethyl methacrylate, SEM?Na, was copolymerized with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (M2) in water solution. Reactivity ratios of r1 = 0.7 ± 0.1 and r2 = 1.6 ± 0.1 were obtained, indicating a lower reactivity of SEM?Na in water as compared to SEM in 1,2-dimethoxyethane. This decreased reactivity was attributed to greater ionic repulsion between reacting species in the aqueous medium.  相似文献

The following reactions: (1) were studied over the temperature ranges 533–687 K, 563–663 K, and 503–613 K for the forward reactions respectively and over 683–763 K, for the back reaction. Arrhenius parameters for chlorine atom transfer were determined relative to the combination of the attacking radicals. The ΔHr°(1) = ?3.95 ± 0.45 kcal mol?1 was calculated and from this value the ΔH∮(C2F5Cl) = ?2.66.3 ± 2.5 kcal mol?1 and D(C2F5-Cl) = 82.0 ± 1.2 kcal mol?1 were obtained. Besides, the ΔHr°(2) was estimated leading to D(CF2ClCF2Cl) = 79.2 ± 5 Kcal mol?1. The bond dissociation energies and the heat of formation are compared with those of the literature. The effect of the halogen substitutents as well as the importance of the polar effects for halogen transfer processes are discussed.  相似文献

A new approach to obtaining thermoset organotin polymers, which permits control of crosslinking site distribution and, through it, a better control of properties of organotin antifouling polymers, is reported. Tri-n-butyltin acrylate and tri-n-butyltin methacrylate monomers were prepared and copolymerized, by the solution polymerization method with the use of free-radical initiators, with several vinyl monomers containing either an epoxy or a hydroxyl functional group. The reactivity ratios were determined for six pairs of monomers by using the analytical YBR method to solve the differential form of the copolymer equation. For copolymerization of tri-n-butyltin acrylate (M1) with glycidyl acrylate (M2), these reactivity ratios were n = 0.295 ± 0.053, r2 = 1.409 ± 0.103; with glycidyl methacrylate (M2) they were r1 = 0.344 ± 0.201, r2 = 4.290 ± 0.273; and with N-methylolacrylamide (M2) they were r1 = 0.977 ± 0.087, r2 = 1.258 ± 0.038. Similarly, for the copolymerization of tri-n-butyltin methacrylate (Mi) with glycidyl aery late (M2) these reactivity ratios were r1 = 1.356 ± 0.157, r2 = 0.367 ± 0.086; with glycidyl methacrylate (M2) they were r1 = 0.754 ± 0.128, r2 = 0.794 ± 0.135; and with N-methylolacrylamide (M2) they were r1 ?4.230 ± 0.658, r2 = 0.381 ± 0.074. Even though the magnitude of error in determination of reactivity ratios was small, it was not found possible to assign consistent Q,e values to either of the organotin monomers for all of its copolymerizations. Therefore, Q,e values were obtained by averaging all Q,e values found for the particular monomer, and these were Q = 0.852, e = 0.197 for the tri-n-butyltin methacrylate monomer; and Q = 0.235, e = 0.401 for the tri-n-butyltin acrylate monomer. Since the reactivity ratios indicate the distribution of the units of a particular monomer in the polymer chain, the measured values are discussed in relation to the selection of a suitable copolymer which, when cross-linked with appropriate crosslinking agents through functional groups, would give thermoset organotin coatings with an optimal balance of mechanical and antifouling properties.  相似文献

The microwave spectra of 13CH2OH-CHO, CH2OH-13CHO, and CH2OH-CH18O are reported and have been used in combination with previously published data on other monosubstituted glycolaldehydes to determine the substitution structure of the molecule as r(CO) = 1.209 Å, r(C-O) = 1.437 Å, r(C-C) = 1.499 Å, r(O-H) = 1.051 Å, r(C-Hald) = 1.102 Å, r(C-Halc) = 1.093 Å, r(O β H) = 2.007 Å, r(O β O) = 2.697 Å, ∠(C-CO) = 122°44', ∠(C-C-Hald) = 115°16', ∠(C-C-O) = 111°28', ∠(C-O-H) = 101°34', ∠(C-C-Halc) = 109°13', ∠(H-C-H) = 107°34', ∠(O-H β O) = 120°33', ∠(H β OC) = 83°41', and ∠(O-H, C0) = 24°14'. The intramolecular hydrogen bond and the other structural parameters are discussed and compared to related molecules. The dipole moment is redetermined to be μa = 0.262 ±0.002 D, μb = 2.33 ± 0.01 D, and μtot = 2.34 ± 0.01 D. Relative intensity measurements yielded 195 ± 30 cm?1 for the C-C torsional fundamental and 260±40 cm?1 for the lowest in-plane skeletal bending mode. Computations performed by the CNDO/2 method correctly predict the observed cis hydrogen-bonded conformer to be the energetically favoured one and in addition yield some indication of the existence of at least two other non-hydrogen-bonded forms of higher energy.  相似文献

Bulk radical copolymerization of methyl acrylate (MeA, M1) with styrene (St, M2) in presence and absence of ZnCl2 as complexing agent was studied. 1H-NMR spectra were used to establish copolymer composition and sequence distribution. The methoxy group signal was observed to be split due to pentads, but the analysis of sequence distribution is possible only at triad level. Both composition and sequence distribution data confirmed that bulk radical copolymerization respects quite well the terminal addition model; the values of r1 = 0.14 ± 0.02 (from composition data) and r1 = 0.25 ± 0.03 (from sequence distribution data) and r2 = 0.83 ± 0.10 (from composition data) were found. The presence of ZnCl2 increases the probability of alternating addition, e.g., for [ZnCl2]/[MeA] = 0.2, r1 = 0.03 ± 0.02 and r2 = 0.17 ± 0.03. The radical copolymer obtained in bulk in the absence of ZnCl2 presents a coisotactic configuration with σ = 0.75 ± 0.03, but the presence of the complexing agent reduces the probability of coisotactic addition, e.g., for [ZnCl2]/[MeA] = 0.2, σ = 0.52 ± 0.03.  相似文献

The molecular structure and internal rotation of Si2F6 were investigated by electron diffraction of gases. The following r0α -values for the geometric parameters were obtained: r(Si-Si) = 2.317 ± 0.006 Å, r(Si-F) = 1.564 ± 0.002 Å and ∠FSiF = 108.6° ± 0.3°. The barrier to internal rotation was found to be between 0.51 ± 0.10 and 0.73 ± 0.14 kcal mol?1, depending on different assumptions of temperature drop due to gas expansion in the nozzle. Attempts were made to calculate the potential barriers for Si2X6 molecules with X as H, F and Cl, using the CNDO/2 approximation. When the 3d orbitais of silicon are taken into account, these results differ widely from the experimental values in the case of Si2Fg6 and Si2Cl6. Neglecting the 3d orbitais of silicon the theoretical and experi- mental potential barriers agree very well.  相似文献

A newer approach to obtaining acrylic thermoset polymers with adequate hydrophilicity required for various specific end uses is reported. Glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) was copolymerized with n-butyl acrylate (n-BA), isobutyl acrylate (i-BA), and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA) in bulk at 60°C. with benzoyl peroxide as free radical initiator. The copolymer composition was determined from the estimation of epoxy group. Reactivity ratios were calculated by the Yezrielev, Brokhina, and Roskin method. For copolymerization of GMA (M1) with n-BA (M2) the reactivity ratios were r1 = 2.15 ± 0.14, r2 = 0.12 ± 0.03; with i-BA (M2) they were r1 = 1.27 ± 0.06, r2 = 0.33 ± 0.031; and with 2-EHA (M2) they were r1 = 2.32 ± 0.14, r2 = 0.13 ± 0.009. The reactivity ratios were the measure of distribution of monomer units in a copolymer chain; the values obtained are compared and discussed.  相似文献

The course of composition drift in copolymerization reactions is determined by reactivity ratios of the contributing monomers. Since polymer properties are directly correlated with the resulting chemical composition distribution, reactivity ratios are of paramount importance. Furthermore, obtaining correct reactivity ratios is a prerequisite for good model predictions. For vinyl acetate (VAc), vinyl 2,2-dimethyl-propanoate also known as vinyl pivalate (VPV), and vinyl 2-ethylhexanoate (V2EH), the reactivity ratios with methyl acrylate (MA) have been determined by means of low conversion bulk polymerization. The mol fraction of MA in the resulting copolymer was determined by 1H-NMR. Nonlinear optimization on the thus-obtained monomer feed–copolymer composition data resulted in the following sets of reactivity ratios: rMA = 6.9 ± 1.4 and rVAc = 0.013 ± 0.02; rMA = 5.5 ± 1.2 and rVPV = 0.017 ± 0.035; rMA = 6.9 ± 2.7 and rV2EH = 0.093 ± 0.23. As a result of the similar and overlapping reactivity data of the three methyl acrylate–vinyl ester monomer systems, for practical puposes these data can be described with one set of reactivity data. Nonlinear optimization of all monomer feed–copolymer composition data together resulted in rMA = 6.1 ± 0.6 and rVEst = 0.0087 ± 0.023. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The kinetics and equilibrium of the gas-phase reaction of CH3CF2Br with I2 were studied spectrophotometrically from 581 to 662°K and determined to be consistent with the following mechanism: A least squares analysis of the kinetic data taken in the initial stages of reaction resulted in log k1 (M?1 · sec?1) = (11.0 ± 0.3) - (27.7 ± 0.8)/θ where θ = 2.303 RT kcal/mol. The error represents one standard deviation. The equilibrium data were subjected to a “third-law” analysis using entropies and heat capacities estimated from group additivity to derive ΔHr° (623°K) = 10.3 ± 0.2 kcal/mol and ΔHrr (298°K) = 10.2 ± 0.2 kcal/mol. The enthalpy change at 298°K was combined with relevant bond dissociation energies to yield DH°(CH3CF2 - Br) = 68.6 ± 1 kcal/mol which is in excellent agreement with the kinetic data assuming that E2 = 0 ± 1 kcal/mol, namely; DH°(CH3CF2 - Br) = 68.6 ± 1.3 kcal/mol. These data also lead to ΔHf°(CH3CF2Br, g, 298°K) = -119.7 ± 1.5 kcal/mol.  相似文献

Copolymers of 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate, hydroxypropyl acrylate, and 2(1-aziridinyl)-ethyl methacrylate (M2) with styrene (M1) were prepared in benzene solution at 60°C. Benzoyl peroxide, 0.1–0.2 mole-%, was used as initiator. Copolymer samples with the molar concentrations of M2 feed ranging from 0.10 to 0.85 were used to determine the reactivity ratios. Elemental analysis and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) were used to determine copolymer compositions. There was a solubility problem when the latter technique was applied. When samples which were completely soluble were analyzed, the results obtained from NMR and elemental analysis were in excellent agreement. The monomer reactivity ratios and the corresponding parameters for the copolymerization of (M1) with 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate are: r1 = 0.38 ± 0.02, r2 = 0.34 ± 0.03; Q2 = 0.85, e2 = 0.64; with hydroxypropyl acrylate are: r1 = 0.45 ± 0.03, r2 = 0.36 ± 0.03; Q2 = 0.75, e2 = 0.56; with 2(1-aziridinyl)ethyl methacrylate are: r1 = 0.53 ± 0.02, r2 = 0.63 ± 0.04; Q2 = 0.82, e2 = 0.25.  相似文献

2-Isopropenyl-4-isopropyl-2-oxazolin-5-one (M2), was copolymerized with styrene (M1), and the monomer reactivity ratios were determined to be r1 = 0.31 ± 0.03, r2 = 1.12 ± 0.10. New isomerized oxazolones (M2), 2-isopropylidene-4-methyl-3-oxazolin-5-one, 2-isopropylidene-4-isopropyl-3-oxazolin-5-one, and 2-isopropylidene-4-isobutyl-3-oxazolin-5-one were prepared and copolymerized with styrene. The monomer reactivity ratios were: r1 = 0.36 = 0.07, r2 = 0.0; r1 = 0.39 ± 0.06, r2 = 0.00 ± 0.10; r1 = 0.39 ± 0.10, r2 = 0.0, respectively. The isomerized oxazolones showed no tendency towards homopolymerization by radical initiator. From the results of infrared and NMR spectra and hydrolysis of the copolymer, it was indicated that the isomerized oxazolones participated in copolymerization in the form of 1–4 polymerization of the conjugated dienes (exo double bond at C2 and the C?N in the ring). Copolymers reacted with nucleophilic reagents such as amines and alcohols.  相似文献

The D + H2(ν = 1) reaction, D + H2(ν = 1) → Ka HD(ν = 1) + H, → Kn HD(ν = 0) + H, → Kr D + H2(ν = 0) has been studied. The measurements were made in a flow-tube apparatus at 300 K. Vibrationally excited H2 was generated in a furnace and D atoms in a microwave discharge. EPR and thermometric techniques were used for the detection of D and H atoms and H2(ν = 1).
