The absorption edge of undoped Tl2Ga2S3Se crystals have been studied through transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range 440–1100 nm and in the temperature range 10–300 K. The absorption edge was observed to shift toward lower energy values with increasing temperature. As a result, the rate of the indirect band gap variation with temperature γ=−2.6×10−4 eV/K and the absolute zero value of the band gap energy Egi(0)=2.42 eV were obtained. 相似文献

The optical properties of Tl2Ga2S3Se layered crystalline semiconductors were investigated from transmission, reflection and ellipsometric measurements. The experimental results of the room temperature transmission and reflection measurements performed in the wavelength range of 400–1100 nm showed the presence of both indirect and direct transitions in the band structure of the crystals with 2.38 and 2.62 eV band gap energies. 相似文献

The optical properties of Tl2In2Se3S layered single crystals have been analyzed using transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength region between 500 and 1100 nm. The optical indirect transitions with a band gap energy of 1.96 eV and direct transitions with a band gap energy of 2.16 eV were determined from analysis of absorption data at room temperature. Dispersion of the refractive index is discussed in terms of the Wemple–DiDomenico single-effective-oscillator model. The refractive index dispersion parameters – oscillator energy, dispersion energy, oscillator strength and zero-frequency refractive index – were found to be 4.67 eV, 45.35 eV, 1.38 × 1014 m ? 2 and 3.27, respectively. Transmission measurements were also performed in the temperature range 10–300 K. As a result of temperature-dependent transmission measurements, the rate of change in the indirect band gap with temperature, i.e. γ = ?5.6 × 10?4 eV/K, and the absolute zero value of the band gap energy, E gi(0) = 2.09 eV, were obtained. 相似文献

Optical properties of acousto-optical material Tl3SbS3 were investigated at the fundamental absorption edge. The basic (n = 1) and excited (n = 2, 3) exciton states were obtained from the λ-modulated reflection spectra for polarizations E⊥c at 10 K. Taking into account the spatial dispersion we determined the parameters of excitons by calculating the spectra shapes of λ-modulated reflection of line n = 1 and estimated values of the zone-translation masse and the reduced effective masse of excitons, the effective masse of electrons , heavy and light holes. 相似文献

Thin films of In-doped Ge-S in the form of Ge35In8S57 with different film thickness were deposited using an evaporation method. The X-ray diffraction studies demonstrate that the as-prepared films are amorphous in nature for these films. Some optical constants were calculated at a thickness of 150, 300, 450 and 900?nm and annealing temperature of 373, 413, 437 and 513?K. Our optical observations show that the mechanism of the optical transition obeys the indirect transition. It was found that the energy gap, Eg, decreases from 2.44 to 2.20?eV with expanding the thickness of the film from 150 to 900?nm. On the other hand, it was found that Eg increases with annealing temperature from 373 to 513?K. The increment in the band gap can be attributed to the gradual annealing out of the unsaturated bonds delivering a decreasing the density of localized states in the band structure. Using the single oscillator model, the dispersion of the refractive index is described. The dispersion constants of these films were calculated with different both thickness and annealing temperatures. Additionally, both of nonlinear susceptibility, χ(3) and nonlinear refractive index, n2 were calculated. 相似文献

The optical constants (absorption coefficient, refractive index, extention coefficient, real and imaginary part of dielectric constant) have been studied for a-Se80Te20−xPbx (where x = 0, 2, 6, 10) thin films as a function of photon energy in the wave length range (500–1000 nm). It has been found that the optical band gap increases while the refractive index and the extinction coefficient (k) decreases on incorporation of lead in Se–Te system. The value of absorption coefficient (α) and the extinction coefficient (k) increases, while the value of refractive index (n) decreases with incident photon energy. The results are interpreted in terms of the change in concentration of localized states due to the shift in fermi level. 相似文献

Se90Te10−xAgx (0 ≤ x ≤ 6) compositions were prepared by quenching technique. Thin films with different thicknesses of the obtained compositions were deposited on dry clean glass substrates by thermal evaporation technique. Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) indicates that samples are nearly stoichiometric. X-ray diffraction patterns indicate that they are in the amorphous state. The optical constants, the refractive index n and the absorption index k, have been calculated from transmittance T and reflectance R through the spectral range of 400-2500 nm for the studied films with different thicknesses (165-711 nm). From the analysis of refractive index n data, high frequency dielectric constant ?∞ was determined. Both ?∞ and n are found to decrease with the increase of Ag content. The optical band gap is calculated for all compositions from the absorption coefficient analysis. The effect of the Ag addition on the obtained optical parameters has been discussed. The analysis of absorption index k data, revealed the existence of allowed indirect transitions for all compositions. It is indicated also that increase with increasing Ag content. 相似文献

Variable angle spectroscopic ellipsometry has been applied to characterize the optical constants of bulk Cu(In0.7Ga0.3)5Se8 and Cu(In0.4Ga0.6)5Se8 crystals grown by the Bridgman method. The spectra were measured at room temperature over the energy range 0.8-4.4 eV. Adachi’s model was used to calculate the dielectric functions as well as the spectral dependence of complex refractive index, absorption coefficient, and normal-incidence reflectivity. The calculated data are in good agreement with the experimental ones over the entire range of photon energies. The parameters such as strength, threshold energy, and broadening, corresponding to the E0, E1A, and E1B interband transitions, have been determined using the simulated annealing algorithm. 相似文献

Thermally stimulated current (TSC) measurements with current flowing perpendicular to the layers were carried out on Tl2Ga2Se3S layered single crystals in the temperature range of 10-260 K. The experimental data were analyzed by using different methods, such as curve fitting, initial rise and isothermal decay methods. The analysis revealed that there were three trapping centers with activation energies of 12, 76 and 177 meV. It was concluded that retrapping in these centers was negligible, which was confirmed by the good agreement between the experimental results and the theoretical predictions of the model that assumes slow retrapping. The capture cross section and the concentration of the traps have been also determined. An exponential distribution of electron traps was revealed from the analysis of the TSC data obtained at different light illumination temperatures. This experimental technique provided values of 10 and 88 meV/decade for the traps distribution related to two different trapping centers. 相似文献

The trap levels in nominally undoped Ga3InSe4 crystals were investigated in the temperature range of 10-300 K using the thermally stimulated currents technique. The study of trap levels was accomplished by the measurements of current flowing along the c-axis of the crystal. During the experiments we utilized a constant heating rate of 0.8 K/s. Experimental evidence is found for one hole trapping center in the crystal with activation energy of 62 meV. The analysis of the experimental TSC curve gave reasonable results under the model that assumes slow retrapping. The capture cross-section of the trap was determined as 1.0×10−25 cm2 with concentration of 1.4×1017 cm−3. 相似文献

The layered In4Se3 system does have a bulk band structure (i.e. discernable and significant band dispersion) perpendicular to the cleavage plane. Band widths (the extent of dispersion) of 300 meV or more are observed, for In-p and Se-p weighted bands within the valence region, and is indicative of a bulk band structure. Two-dimensionality of state is clearly not conserved, and there must exist interactions between layers sufficient to support a bulk band structure. 相似文献

With the help of ab initio full-potential linearized augmented plane wave (FPLAPW) method, calculating the electronic structure and linear optical properties is carried out for XCd2(SO4)3 (X =Tl, Rb). The results show that Tl2Cd2(SO4)3 (TlCdS) has a larger band gap than Rb2Cd2(SO4)3 (RbCdS) and the energy bands for RbCdS are more dispersive than those of TlCdS. From their partial densities of states (PDOS), we have observed that the hybridization between S ionic 2p and O atomic 2p orbitals forms SO4 ionic groups. The remarkable difference between RbCdS and TlCdS is, however, the degree of hybridization between cation (Tl and Rb) and its surrounding oxygen atoms. In the view of quantum chemistry, the strong p-d hybridization indicates the existence of their cation ionic bonds (Cd-O, Rb-O, and Tl-O). The calculations of TlCdS and RbCdS show their optical properties to be less anisotropic. Their anisotropies in the optical properties mainly occur in a low photon energy region of 5-16 eV. 相似文献

CuIn3S5 thin films were prepared from powder by thermal evaporation under vacuum (10−6 mbar) onto glass substrates. The glass substrates were heated from 30 to 200 °C. The films were characterized for their optical properties using optical measurement techniques (transmittance and reflectance). We have determined the energy and nature of the optical transitions of films. The optical constants of the deposited films were determined in the spectral range 300-1800 nm from the analysis of transmission and reflection data. The Swanepoel envelope method was employed on the interference fringes of transmittance patterns for the determination of variation of refractive index with wavelength. Wemple-Di Domenico single oscillator model was applied to determine the optical constants such as oscillator energy E0 and dispersion energy Ed of the films deposited at different substrate temperatures. The electric free carrier susceptibility and the ratio of the carrier concentration to the effective mass were estimated according to the model of Spitzer and Fan. 相似文献

Tl2InGaS4 layered crystals are studied through the dark electrical conductivity, space charge limited current and illumination- and temperature-dependent photoconductivity measurements in the temperature regions of 220-350 K, 300-400 K and 200-350 K, respectively. The space charge limited current measurements revealed the existence of a single discrete trapping level located at 0.44 eV. The dark electrical conductivity showed the existence of two energy levels of 0.32 eV and 0.60 eV being dominant above and below 300 K, respectively. The photoconductivity measurements reflected the existence of two other energy levels located at 0.28 eV and 0.19 eV at high and low temperatures, respectively. The photocurrent is observed to increase with increasing temperature up to a maximum temperature of 330 K. The illumination dependence of photoconductivity is found to exhibit supralinear recombination in all the studied temperature ranges. The change in recombination mechanism is attributed to exchange in the behavior of sensitizing and recombination centers. 相似文献

Single crystals of KGd(WO4)2 doped with Nd3+ and Er3+ ions were grown by the top seeded solution growth method. Detailed analysis of the room-temperature absorption spectra was performed using the conventional Judd-Ofelt theory and actual dependence of the refractive index on the wavelength. In addition to the intensity parameters Ω2,Ω4,Ω6, the branching ratios and radiative lifetimes were estimated for all possible transitions in the studied spectral region. Complete photonic band gaps (PBGs) are found in one-dimensional ternary photonic crystals (1D TPCs) composed of an ordinary dielectric and single negative metamaterials. The proposed TPC gives omni directional PBG completely independent of polarizations dependent weekly on angle of incidence. Here the choice of different parameters of TPC is done in such a way so that it eliminates the Brewster's-angle transmission resonance, thus allowing a complete 3D PBG. It exhibits a photonic band or gap near frequencies where either the magnetic permeability or the electric permittivity of the metamaterial changes sign, whose width increases with the increasing angle of incidence. These result from the dispersive properties of the metamaterials and disappear for the particular case of propagation along the stratification direction. The results are discussed in terms of incident angle, layer thickness, dielectric constant of the dielectric material for TE and TM polarizations. 相似文献

Bismuth titanate, Bi4Ti3O12 (BTO), is a typical ferroelectric material with useful properties for optical memory, piezoelectric and electro-optic devices. Its nano-crystals were compounded by the chemical solution decomposition technique. Its structure and size were analyzed by X-ray diffraction and transmissive electron microscopy. The composite thin film of BTO nano-crystals and high transparency polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) polymer was prepared by spin coating. The transmitted spectrum of BTO/PMMA composite thin film in 300–1500 nm was measured. 采用传统熔融-淬冷法制备了一系列新型(100-x)(4GeSe2-In2Se3)-xAgI(x=20,30,40mol%)硫系玻璃样品.利用X射线衍射分析、差热分析、可见-近红外吸收光谱、红外透过光谱、喇曼分析等技术手段研究了该玻璃系统的组成、结构、热稳定性和光学特性等.利用Tauc方程计算出了样品的间接带隙;测试了部分样品在不同升温速率下的差示扫描量热曲线,并采用Kissinger法计算了玻璃样品的析晶活化能.X射线衍射数据表明,该玻璃体系在较宽的组分范围内有良好的非晶特性,成玻范围较宽;差热分析和析晶动力学研究表明,玻璃样品70(4GeSe2-In2Se3)-30AgI具有较好的热稳定性(ΔT=114℃)和较高的活化能(Ea=320.4kJ/mol).随着AgI含量的增加,玻璃的短波吸收限蓝移,并且光学带隙有增大的趋势.此外,红外透过光谱分析表明该玻璃体系具有良好的红外透过性能,其红外截止波长不会随着AgI含量的增加而发生明显变化,皆为16μm左右. 相似文献

Spectroscopic ellipsometry measurements on TlGaSe2, TlGaS2 and TlInS2 layered crystals were carried out on the layer-plane (0 0 1) surfaces, which are perpendicular to the optic axis c?, in the 1.2–6.2 eV spectral range at room temperature. The real and imaginary parts of the pseudodielectric function as well as pseudorefractive index and pseudoextinction coefficient were found as a result of analysis of ellipsometric data. The structures of critical points in the above-band gap energy range have been characterized from the second derivative spectra of the pseudodielectric function. The analysis revealed four, five and three interband transition structures with critical point energies 2.75, 3.13, 3.72 and 4.45 eV (TlGaSe2), 3.03, 3.24, 3.53, 4.20 and 4.83 eV (TlGaS2), and 3.50, 3.85 and 4.50 eV (TlInS2). For TlGaSe2 crystals, the determined critical point energies were assigned tentatively to interband transitions using the available electronic energy band structure. 相似文献

Ground and excited states of three exciton series are observed in the region of fundamental absorption edge of AgAsS2 crystals. The contours of exciton reflection spectra are calculated and the main parameters of excitons and energy bands are determined in the center of Brillouin zone. The optical reflection spectra are investigated at 30 K in E∥c and E⊥c polarizations in AgAsS2 crystals in the region of 2-6 eV. The optical functions are calculated from the reflection spectra and a scheme of electronic transitions responsible for peculiarities of reflection spectra deep into the absorption band is proposed. 相似文献
