A new class of branching models, the general collision branching processes with two parameters, is considered in this paper. For such models, it is necessary to evaluate the absorbing probabilities and mean extinction times for both absorbing states. Regularity and uniqueness criteria are firstly established. Explicit expressions are then obtained for the extinction probability vector, the mean extinction times and the conditional mean extinction times. The explosion behavior of these models is investigated and an explicit expression for mean explosion time is established. The mean global holding time is also obtained. It is revealed that these properties are substantially different between the super-explosive and sub-explosive cases. This paper considers a generalized evolution of a compact closed (hyper)-surface moved by its mean curvature. By a comparison of a shrinking ball the surface extincts in a finite time. An estimate of the extinction time from above is given by L. C. Evans and J. Spruck. In this paper we give an estimate from blow. In fact we proved that the extinction time is estimated from below by to times the square of the volume of a set enclosed by the initial surface over the initial area of the surface. The Brownian motion and super-Brownian motion on the Sierpinski gasket are studied. Firstly it is proved that the local extinction property is possessed by the super-Brownian motion on this fractal structure. This fact is also true even in the presence of catalyst. The global supports of super-Poisson processes and super-random walks with a branching mechanism ψ(z)=z^2 and constant branching rate are known to be noncompact. It turns out that, for any spatially dependent branching rate, this property remains true. However, the asymptotic extinction property for these two kinds of superprocesses depends on the decay rate of the branching-rate function at infinity.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the basic problems regarding uniqueness and extinction properties for generalised Markov branching processes. The uniqueness criterion is firstly established and a differential-integral equation satisfied by the transition functions of such processes is derived. The extinction probability is then obtained. A closed form is presented for both the mean extinction time and the conditional mean extinction time. It turns out that these important quantities are closely related to the elementary gamma function.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the persistence and extinction of a stochastic non-autonomous Gilpin–Ayala system driven by Lévy noise. Sufficient criteria for extinction, non-persistence in the mean and weak persistence of the system are established. The threshold between weak persistence and extinction is obtained. From the results we can see that both persistence and extinction have close relationships with Lévy noise. Some simulation figures are introduced to demonstrate the analytical findings.  相似文献

A model of renewable resource exploitation under event uncertainty is formulated. The model is applied to analyze the situation in which excessive water diversion for human needs can lead to the extinction of an animal population. Special attention is given to uncertainty regarding the conditions that lead to extinction. The manner in which the potential benefit foregone due to the species' extinction (the “extinction penalty”) induces more conservative exploitation policies is studied in detail. When the extinction penalty is ignored, the optimal policy is to drive the resource stock to a particular equilibrium level from any initial state. When the extinction penalty is accounted for and the conditions that lead to extinction are not fully understood (i.e., involve uncertainty), an interval of equilibrium states is identified, which depends on the penalty and on the immediate extinction risk.  相似文献

A general A-P iterative algorithm in a shift-invariant space is presented. We use the algorithm to show reconstruction of signals from weighted samples and also show that the general improved algorithm has better convergence rate than the existing one. This paper studies two widely used stochastic non-autonomous logistic models. For the first system, sufficient conditions for extinction, non-persistence in the mean, weak persistence and stochastic permanence are established. The critical number between weak persistence and extinction is obtained. For the second system, sufficient criteria for extinction, non-persistence in the mean, weak persistence in the mean, strong persistence in the mean and stochastic permanence are established. The critical number between weak persistence in the mean and extinction is obtained. It should be pointed out that this research is systematical and complete. A stochastic logistic model under regime switching is proposed and investigated. Sufficient conditions for extinction, non-persistence in the mean, weak persistence and stochastic permanence are established. The threshold between weak persistence and extinction is obtained. Then we show that this threshold also is the threshold between stochastic permanence and extinction under a simple additional condition. The results show that firstly, the stationary probability distribution of the Markov chain plays a key role in determining the permanence and extinction of the population. Secondly, different types of environmental noises have different effects on the permanence and extinction of the population. Thirdly, the more the stochastic noises, the easier the population goes to extinction.  相似文献

In this paper, the pole assignment problem is considered for a class of distributed parameter systems with unbounded input element and with multiple spectral structure. A formula on the spectrum of the closed loop operator is proved and a formula of pole assignment is obtained. Finally, an example concerning a beam vibration is given.
