In this paper, the variable coefficient nonlinear Schrödinger equation is investigated analytically. With the bilinear method, the bilinear forms and analytic soliton solutions are obtained. Based on the obtained analytic solutions, the effect of free parameters on the control of soliton transmission is studied. Influences of second-order and third-order dispersion coefficients on dark solitons are discussed. Results in this paper would be of great significance in the generation of dark solitons.  相似文献

A new (1+1)-dimensional integrable model is investigated, of which the Lax integrability is shown by the existence of its fifth order spectral problems. Its bilinear form is obtained via introducing an auxiliary variable. The multiple soliton solutions are obtained by solving its bilinear system. It is shown that there are four different dispersion relations for multiple solitons. The amplitudes of the solitons are only wave number dependent while the velocities of the solitons are not only wave number dependent but also dispersion relation dependent. Because of the existence of four dispersion relations, the interactions among solitons are much more abundant because for any fixed wave number there are four different velocities including two left moving and two right moving. Especially, the existence of the multiple velocities makes the velocity resonant conditions can be readily satisfied to form many types of bound states including soliton molecules, soliton-breather molecules and breather molecules.  相似文献

Fokas system is the simplest (2+1)-dimensional extension of the nonlinear Schr?dinger (NLS) equation (Eq.(2), Inverse Problems 10 (1994) L19-L22).By appropriately limiting on soliton solutions generated by the Hirota bilinear method, the explicit forms of $n$-th breathers and semi-rational solutions for the Fokas system are derived. The obtained first-order breather exhibits arange of interesting dynamics. For high-order breather, it has more rich dynamical behaviors. The first-order and the second-order breather solutions are given graphically. Using the long wave limit in soliton solutions, rational solutions are obtained, which are used to analyze the mechanism of the rogue wave and lump respectively.By taking a long waves limit of a part of exponential functions in $f$ and $g$ appeared in the bilinear form of the Fokas system, many interesting hybrid solutions are constructed. The hybrid solutions illustrate various superposed wave structures involving rogue waves, lumps, solitons, and periodic line waves. Their rather complicated dynamics are revealed.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a (3+1)-dimensional generalized variable-coefficient Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation, which can describe the nonlinear phenomena in fluids or plasmas. Painlevé analysis is performed for us to study the integrability, and we find that the equation is not completely integrable. By virtue of the binary Bell polynomials, bilinear form and soliton solutions are obtained, and Bäcklund transformation in the binary-Bell-polynomial form and bilinear form are derived. Soliton collisions are graphically discussed: the solitons keep their original shapes unchanged after the collision except for the phase shifts. Variable coefficients are seen to affect the motion of solitons: when the variable coefficients are chosen as the constants, solitons keep their directions unchanged during the collision; with the variable coefficients as the functions of the temporal coordinate, the one soliton changes its direction.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the (2+1)-dimensional variable-coefficient Nizhnik–Novikov–Veselov system in an inhomogeneous medium, which is the isotropic Lax integrable extension of the Korteweg-de Vries equation. Infinitely-many conservation laws are constructed. N-soliton solutions in terms of the Wronskian are obtained via the Hirota method. Velocity and shape of the soliton can be influenced by those variable coefficients, while the amplitude of the soliton can not be affected. Collision between the two solitons is shown to be elastic. Breather wave solutions are constructed via the trilinear method. Such phenomena as the deceleration and compression of the breather waves are studied graphically. Rogue wave solutions are derived when the periods of the breather wave solutions go to the infinity. Separated and united composite rogue waves are discussed graphically.  相似文献

Under investigation in this paper is a fifth-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation, which describes the propagation of attosecond pulses in an optical fiber. Based on the Lax pair, infinitely-many conservation laws are derived. With the aid of auxiliary functions, bilinear forms, one-, two- and three-soliton solutions in analytic forms are generated via the Hirota method and symbolic computation. Soliton velocity varies linearly with the coefficients of the high-order terms. Head-on interaction between the bidirectional two solitons and overtaking interaction between the unidirectional two solitons as well as the bound state are depicted. For the interactions among the three solitons, two head-on and one overtaking interactions, three overtaking interactions, an interaction between a bound state and a single soliton and the bound state are displayed. Graphical analysis shows that the interactions between the two solitons are elastic, and interactions among the three solitons are pairwise elastic. Stability analysis yields the modulation instability condition for the soliton solutions.  相似文献

Oscillating solitons are obtained in nonlinear optics. Analytical study of the variable-coefficient nonlinear Schrödinger equation, which is used to describe the soliton propagation in those systems, is carried out using the Hirota’s bilinear method. The bilinear forms and analytic soliton solutions are derived, and the relevant properties and features of oscillating solitons are illustrated. Oscillating solitons are controlled by the reciprocal of the group velocity and Kerr nonlinearity. Results of this paper will be valuable to the study of dispersion-managed optical communication system and mode-locked fibre lasers.  相似文献

Under investigation in this paper are the generalized coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations with cubic–quintic nonlinearity which describe the effects of the quintic nonlinearity on the ultrashort optical soliton pulse propagation in the non-Kerr media. Via the dependent variable transformation and Hirota method, the bilinear form is derived. Based on the bilinear form obtained, the one-, two- and three-soliton solutions are presented in the form of exponential polynomials with the help of symbolic computation. Propagation and interactions of solitons are investigated analytically and graphically. Evolution of one soliton is discussed with the analysis of such physical quantities as the soliton amplitude, width, velocity, initial phase and energy. Interactions of the solitons appear in the forms of the repulsion or attraction alternately and propagation in parallel. Inelastic and head-on interactions of the solitons are also showed. Finally, via the asymptotic analysis, conditions of the elastic and inelastic interactions are obtained.  相似文献

The (2+1)-dimensional Davey-Stewartson-like equations with variable coefficients have the applications in the ultra-relativistic degenerate dense plasmas and Bose-Einstein condensates. Via the Bell polynomials and symbolic computation, the bilinear form, Bäcklund transformation and Lax pair for such equations are obtained. Based on the Hirota method, we construct the soliton solutions, analyze the elastic collisions with the constant and variable coefficients, and observe that solitons no longer keep rectilinear propagation and display different shapes because of the variable coefficients. Besides, localized excitations are derived through the variable separation.  相似文献

Under investigation in this paper is a (3 q- 1)-dimensional variable-coefficient Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation, which describes the propagation of surface and internal water waves. By virtue of the binary Bell polynomials, symbolic computation and auxiliary independent variable, the bilinear forms, soliton solutions, Backlund transformations and Lax pair are obtained. Variable coefficients of the equation can affect the solitonic structure, when they are specially chosen, while curved and linear solitons are illustrated. Elastic collisions between/among two and three solitons are discussed, through which the solitons keep their original shapes invariant except for some phase shifts.  相似文献

Considering the ultrashort optical soliton propagation in the non-Kerr media, the cubic-quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation with Raman effect is studied through the dependent variable transformation and Hirota method. Based on symbolic computation, the bilinear form, the explicit one- and two-soliton solutions for the equation are presented. The constraint parametric condition for the existence of soliton solutions is also derived. Propagation characteristics and interaction behaviors of the solitons are graphically shown and discussed: (1) Overtaking elastic interactions of the two solitons; (2) periodic attraction and repulsion of the bounded states of two solitons; (3) propagation in parallel of the two solitons.  相似文献

Twin-core optical fibers are applied in such fields as the optical sensing and optical communication, and propagation of the pulses,Gauss beams and laser beams in the non-Kerr media is reported.Studied in this paper are the coupled cubic-quintic nonlinear Schrodinger equations with variable coefficients, which describe the effects of quintic nonlinearity for the ultrashort optical pulse propagation in a twin-core optical fiber or non-Kerr medium.Based on the integrable conditions, bilinear forms are derived, and dark-dark soliton solutions can be constructed in terms of the Gramian via the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili hierarchy reduction.Propagation and interaction of the dark-dark solitons are presented and discussed through the graphic analysis. With different values of the delayed nonlinear response effect b(z),where z represents direction of the propagation, the linear-and parabolic-shaped one dark-dark soltions can be derived.Interactions between the parabolic-and periodic-shaped two dark-dark solitons are presented with b(z) as the linear and periodic functions, respectively.Directions of velocities of the two dark-dark solitons vary with z and the amplitudes of the solitons remain unchanged can be observed.Interactions between the two dark-dark solitons of different types are displayed, and we observe that the velocity of one soliton is zero and direction of the velocity of the other soliton vary with z.We find that those interactions are elastic.  相似文献

Under investigation in this paper is a generalized (3+1)-dimensional Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equation in fluid dynamics and plasma physics. Soliton and one-periodic-wave solutions are obtained via the Hirota bilinear method and Hirota–Riemann method. Magnitude and velocity of the one soliton are derived. Graphs are presented to discuss the solitons and one-periodic waves: the coefficients in the equation can determine the velocity components of the one soliton, but cannot alter the soliton magnitude; the interaction between the two solitons is elastic; the coefficients in the equation can influence the periods and velocities of the periodic waves. Relation between the one-soliton solution and one-periodic wave solution is investigated.  相似文献

Dark solitons are the subject of intense theoretical and experimental studies in nonlinear optics due to their unique characteristics compared with bright solitons. In this paper, the variable coefficient high-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation in the inhomogeneous optical fiber is investigated. Via the Hirota bilinear method and symbolic computation, the analytic dark two-soliton solutions are obtained. With the suitable choices of functions and coefficients for the obtained dark two-soliton solutions, some new phenomena are presented for the first time. The influences on phases and amplitudes of soliton interactions are detailed analyzed. Moreover, sets of double-triangle structures and methods of changing the propagation direction of dark solitons are introduced. Finally, by choosing suitable functions of the fourth-order dispersion parameter, the arch-structure and M-structure interactions are revealed. Results may be potentially useful in designing all-optical switches and optical fibers.  相似文献

Under investigation in this paper is a sextic nonlinear Schrödinger equation, which describes the pulses propagating along an optical fiber. Based on the symbolic computation, Lax pair and infinitely-many conservation laws are derived. Via the modiied Hirota method, bilinear forms and multi-soliton solutions are obtained. Propagation and interactions of the solitons are illustrated graphically: Initial position and velocity of the soliton are related to the coefficient of the sixth-order dispersion, while the amplitude of the soliton is not affected by it. Head-on, overtaking and oscillating interactions between the two solitons are displayed. Through the asymptotic analysis, interaction between the two solitons is proved to be elastic. Based on the linear stability analysis, the modulation instability condition for the soliton solutions is obtained.  相似文献

Under investigation in this paper is a set of the time-dependent Whitham–Broer–Kaup equations, which is used for the shallow water under the Boussinesq approximation. The equations can be transformed into generalized time-dependent coefficient Ablowitz–Kaup–Newell–Segur system via the variable transformation. Lax pair, infinitely-many conservation laws and bilinear forms of the Ablowitz–Kaup–Newell–Segur system are obtained. One-, two- and three-soliton solutions are derived via the Hirota bilinear method. The solitons are physically related to the horizontal velocity field and height that deviates from equilibrium position of the water. Features of the solitons are studied: Soliton amplitude is related to the wave number parameters, while the soliton velocity is related to the wave number parameters and variable coefficient. Interactions between/among the solitons could be elastic or inelastic, determined by the wave number parameters. Interaction property could not be affected by the variable coefficient. Soliton stability is studied via the numerical calculation, which indicates that the solitons could only propagate steadily in a limited time.  相似文献

Based on a special transformation that we introduce, the N-soliton solution of the (2+1)-dimensional Boiti-Leon-Manna-Pempinelli equation is constructed. By applying the long wave limit and restricting certain conjugation conditions to the related solitons, some novel localized wave solutions are obtained, which contain higher-order breathers and lumps as well as their interactions. In particular, by choosing appropriate parameters involved in the N-solitons, two interaction solutions mixed by a bell-shaped soliton and one breather or by a bell-shaped soliton and one lump are constructed from the 3-soliton solution. Five solutions including two breathers, two lumps, and interaction solutions between one breather and two bell-shaped solitons, one breather and one lump, or one lump and two bell-shaped solitons are constructed from the 4-soliton solution. Five interaction solutions mixed by one breather/lump and three bell-shaped solitons, two breathers/lumps and a bell-shaped soliton, as well as mixing with one lump, one breather and a bell-shaped soliton are constructed from the 5-soliton solution. To study the behaviors that the obtained interaction solutions may have, we present some illustrative numerical simulations, which demonstrate that the choice of the parameters has a great impacts on the types of the solutions and their propagation properties. The method proposed can be effectively used to construct localized interaction solutions of many nonlinear evolution equations. The results obtained may help related experts to understand and study the interaction phenomena of nonlinear localized waves during propagations.  相似文献

We present analytical bright multisoliton solutions to the generalized nonautonomous nonlinear Schrödinger equation with time- and space-dependent distributed coefficients in Fourier-synthesized optical lattice potential based on the similarity transformation technique. Such solutions exist in certain constraint conditions on the coefficients depicting dispersion, nonlinearity, and gain (or loss). Various shapes of bright solitons and interesting interactions between two solitons are observed, including soliton trains, collapse and revival of condensates, and two periodic M-shape solitons with collision. Phenomena of a few solitons and physical applications of interest to the field are discussed.  相似文献

We find that the sextic nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation admits breather‐to‐soliton transitions. With the Darboux transformation, analytic breather solutions with imaginary eigenvalues up to the second order are explicitly presented. The condition for breather‐to‐soliton transitions is explicitly presented and several examples of transitions are shown. Interestingly, we show that the sextic NLS equation admits not only the breather‐to‐bright‐soliton transitions but also the breather‐to‐dark‐soliton transitions. We also show the interactions between two solitons on the constant backgrounds, as well as between breather and soliton.  相似文献
