The results of ab initio calculation of energies, hyperfine structure constants and static polarizabilities for several low-lying levels of barium are reported. The effective Hamiltonian for the valence electrons has been constructed in the frame of CI+MBPT method and solutions of many electron equation were found. Using the wave functions obtained the hyperfine structure constants and static polarizabilities were calculated. Recently, electric susceptibilities of NanFn-1 clusters have been measured by deflecting a molecular beam in an inhomogeneous electric field. The analysis of the deflection of a cluster by the electric field needs the calculation of the electric properties. We present the calculation of the static anisotropic and average dipolar polarizabilities within a model in which the NanFn-1 clusters ( 2 n 23) are treated as one electron embedded in the field of n ions Na+ and of n - 1 ions F-. The accuracy of the results is evaluated and discussed on small clusters (n 5) in comparison with ab initio calculations. The relationship between the polarizabilities, the electronic localization and the geometric structure is discussed. Received 10 September 2002 Published online 3 July 2003  相似文献

Absorption spectra for Sn clusters (n=2...8) are calculated using an adiabatic time-dependent density functional formalism within the local density approximation (LDA). We compare the calculated spectra with those computed using a simple LDA approach. The time-dependent LDA (TDLDA) spectra display a significant blue shift with respect to the LDA spectra. The calculated spectra present a variety of features that can be used for comparison with future experimental investigations. We also obtain a significant threshold absorption, which can distinguish between different ground states of the sulfur clusters. In addition, the polarizabilities of the clusters are calculated by using the higherorder finite-difference pseudopotential density functional method in real space. We find that the polarizabilities of the clusters considered are higher than the value estimated from the 'hard sphere' model using the bulk static dielectric constant. The computed polarizabilities per atom tend to decrease with increasing cluster size. The polarizabilities are closely related to the HOMO-LUMO gaps and the geometrical configurations.  相似文献

采用遗传算法, 得到贵金属混合团簇Cun-1Au (n=2–10)的稳态结构, 并采用分别基于静态及含时的密度泛函理论的第一性原理方法计算了团簇的静态极化率和吸收光谱. 由于d电子屏蔽效应的增强, 金原子的引入会导致团簇静态极化率的降低, 但立体的构型能减小这种影响. 基于含时密度泛函理论的第一性原理计算得到的吸收光谱指出, 这种屏蔽效应同时导致共振强度的明显下降. d轨道对跃迁贡献的进一步计算, 指出d轨道成分是团簇的光激发中的主要贡献者, 但d电子的屏蔽作用并不会直接导致在激发中d轨道贡献的提升. 针对固定尺寸体系, Cu6-nAun (n=0–6) 团簇的研究进一步论证了此观点. 计算的光谱与实验值能很好地对应, 并且比其他更早的理论计算更为接近实验值. 关键词: 贵金属混合团簇 静态极化率 B3LYP-TDDFT 吸收光谱  相似文献

以含时密度泛函理论为基础,结合从头赝势方法运用含时局域密度近似计算了Na5,Na6和Na7团簇的动力学极化强度,并通过傅里叶变换得出了团簇的光学吸收谱.研究表明,计算结果可以较好地再现实验谱,而且Na6和Na7团簇的结果和组态相互作用的结果符合较好.二维结构和三维结构的Na6团簇的计算结果表明,只有二维结构可出现低于2 eV以下的峰,而且二维结构光谱的计算结果与实验结果符合较好. 关键词: 光吸收谱 Na团簇 含时局域密度近似  相似文献

The magnetic behavior of rhodium clusters RhN (N = 4-38) under hydrostatic deformations was investigated. The starting cluster structures were obtained from an evolutionary search algorithm applied to a Gupta potential. The spin-polarized electronic structure and related magnetic properties were calculated using a self-consistent spd tight-binding Hamiltonian within the unrestricted Hartree-Fock approximation. The magnetic behavior was analyzed in terms of the interdependence between the geometrical parameters and the electronic structure. Anomalous magnetic effects were found in some cases. We study the collective behavior of inclusions inducing local anisotropic curvatures in a flexible fluid membrane. The N-body interaction energy for general anisotropic inclusions is calculated explicitly, including multi-body interactions. Long-range attractive interactions between inclusions are found to be sufficiently strong to induce aggregation. Monte Carlo simulations show a transition from compact clusters to aggregation on lines or circles. These results might be relevant to proteins in biological membranes or colloidal particles bound to surfactant membranes. Received 30 July 1999 and Received in final form 8 September 1999  相似文献

We performed a systematic investigation of the small BxNy (x + y? 6) clusters using the ab initio Hartree-Fock scheme plus second-order perturbation theory. The nature of the potential energy surface extrema are analyzed through analytical total energy second derivatives. Ionization potentials, binding energies and the stability against some possible reaction mechanisms are calculated. Based on these results we propose that the growing process for these clusters is mainly due to the successive incorporation of BN molecules. A discussion of some mass spectrometry experimental results is also presented. Received 2 October 2000  相似文献

The ionization potential of sodium clusters () at a finite temperature is studied using density functional theory and ab initio molecular dynamics. The threshold regions of the photoionization efficiency curves are deduced from the integrated IP distributions, which are obtained from the energy eigenvalues of the highest occupied Kohn-Sham states during molecular dynamics by applying a theoretically well-defined shift. The calculated ionization potentials are directly compared to the experimental values. The energetically best geometry of Na55 is found to be a slightly distorted icosahedron. The optical response of free and matrix-embedded gold metal clusters AuN is investigated in the framework of the time-dependent local-density-approximation (TDLDA). The characteristics of the surface plasmon resonance are carefully analyzed as a function of the model parameters and the particle radius. The strong influence of the frequency-dependence of the 5d core-electron dielectric function in the vicinity of the interband threshold is emphasized. The size evolution of the Mie-frequency in free gold clusters exhibits a noticeable blue-shift trend as the particle size decreases, much stronger than in silver clusters. The width and shape of the resonance, essentially ruled by the decay via the interband transitions, are found closely correlated to the imaginary component of the core-electron dielectric function. In presence of a surrounding matrix the blue-shift trend is largely rubbed out. Agreement with recent experimental results on size-selected gold clusters embedded in an alumina matrix may be achieved by taking into account the porosity effects at the metal/matrix interface. The cross-sections for collisional charge transfer between singly charged free clusters M n + (M = Li, Na; n=1...50) and atomic targets A (cesium, potassium) have been measured as a function of collisional relative velocity in laboratory energy range 1–10 keV. For each cluster size, the experimental values of the charge transfer cross-section are fitted with an universal parametric curve with two independent parameters and vm, the maximum cross-section and the corresponding velocity. For small size clusters (), the characteristic parameters show strong variations with the number of atoms in the cluster. Abrupt dips observed for n=10 and n=22 are attributed to electronic properties. Charge transfer patterns observed for various collisional systems present similarities, which appear more sensitive to cluster quantum size effects than to collision energy defects. In their whole, the and vm parameters show differences in both their size evolution and their absolute values discussed in term of projectile and target electronic structures. Using a high resolution ( meV) laser photoelectron attachment method, we have studied the formation of (CO 2) q ions (q = 4−22) in collisions of low energy electrons (1−180 meV) with (CO2) N () clusters. The previously reported “zero energy resonance”, observed at much larger electron bandwidths, actually consists of several narrow vibrational Feshbach resonances of the type [(CO 2) N −1CO which involve a vibrationally-excited molecular constituent ( denotes vibrational mode) and a diffuse electron weakly bound to the cluster by long range forces. The resonances occur at energies below those of the vibrational excitation energies of the neutral clusters [(CO 2) N −1CO ]; the redshift rises with increasing cluster ion size q by about 12 meV per unit; these findings are recovered by a simple model calculation for the size dependent binding energies. The size distribution in the cluster anion mass spectrum, resulting from attachment of very slow electrons, mainly reflects the amount of overlap of solvation-shifted vibrational resonances with zero energy; the cluster anion size q is identical with or close to that of the attaching neutral cluster. The stability of neutral, singly and multiply ionized silicon clusters, (N = 2-7, M = 0, , , ), has been investigated using an ab initio density functional method. We show that the fragmentation effect significantly affects the structure of mass-spectra of multiply ionized silicon clusters. For clusters, the clusters with a large fragmentation energy are found to correspond to the high peaks at N = 4 and 6 in mass-spectra. We study the configurational statistics of a ring polyampholyte chain made of N randomly charged monomers with elementary charge .To a large extent, the overall structure of a polyampholyte is controlled by a total sum Q of all charges. When the total charge is smaller than , the polyampholyte has a compact globular structure. At charges larger than , the configuration has the form of a ring of small globules (beads) connected by strings. Between Q1 and Q2 we find a remarkable diversity of meta-stable configurations having the shapes of irregular clusters of small globules connected by the strings. We estimate the number of these configurations and the energy barriers between them. Between Q1 and Q2, the minimum energy configurations are completely controlled by randomness in the charge distribution along the chain. There are hysteresis effects in the shapes of the clusters. As the total charge increases, the linearly extended configurations become dynamically more preferable. When the charge decreases, the circular shapes are preferred. With the help of ab initio methods the clusters [(MgO)13Mg] Q+ are simulated for Q = 0, 1, 2. Then, vacancy clusters [(MgO)12Mg2] Q+ obtained by removing one oxygen atom are computed for Q running from 0 to 4. These clusters exhibit a slight sphericity and generally shorter interatomic distances than in the crystal. The electronic densities variations are studied in function of Q. In particular, it is observed that the electronic density in the oxygen vacancy goes to a maximum when Q = 2. The ionisation potentials vary from approximately 4 to 14 eV when Q varies from 0 to 3, with a more rapid increase from Q = 1 to Q = 2. The stability study of vacancy clusters show that they experience a phase transition when their charge becomes equal to 2, in accordance with the features mentioned above. Recent experimental data on the dipole plasmon in axial sodium clusters Na N + with 11 ≤ N ≤ 57 are analyzed within a self-consistent separable random-phase approximation (SRPA) based on the deformed Konh-Sham functional. Good agreement with the data is achieved. The calculations show that, while in light clusters plasmon properties (gross structure and width) are determined mainly by deformation splitting, in medium clusters with N τ 50 the Landau fragmentation becomes decisive. Moreover, in medium clusters shape isomers come to play with contributions to the plasmon comparable with the ground state one. As a result, commonly used methods of the experimental analysis of cluster deformation become useless and correct treatment of cluster shape requires microscopic calculations.  相似文献

An ab initio study of the Nan(OH)n, Nan(OH)n-1 +, Agn(OH)n, and Agn(OH)n-1 + clusters with n up to four is presented. The results of this study show that, in accordance with experimental observations, the sodium hydroxide clusters are almost purely ionic, while the Ag-O bond exhibits a significant covalent character. The perturbation caused by the non-spherical OH- group relatively to an atomic anion, as well as the influence on structures and energies of the covalent character of the metal-oxygen bond are determined. The appearance of metal-metal bonds in the silver hydroxide clusters is also discussed. Finally, the theoretical results obtained on the Na-OH clusters are compared to experimental results available on the dissociation of the Nan(OH)n-1 + clusters.
