Self-consistent-field and configuration-interaction studies were performed on borazine, using a double-zeta basis set augmented by six diffuse -functions. Low-lying singlet and triplet states of the A 1 , A 2 and E species were calculated, corresponding to * excited valence and Rydberg states. A selection out of singly and doubly excited configurations relative to a set of reference configurations was made for each species. Calculated vertical excitation energies (in eV) are 7.12 for 1 A 2(V), 8.45 for 1 E (3p-R), 8.57 for 1 A 1(V), 8.9 for 1 E(V-R), 9.55 for 1 E(3d-R), 6.98 for 3 A 1(V), 7.27 for 3 E(V), 7.82 for 3 A 2(V), 8.30 for 3 E(3p-R), and 9.5 for 3 E(3d-R), where V and R refer to valence or Rydberg character. The results are compared with experimental excitation energies, previous ab initio studies of borazine, and with recent ab initio studies of benzene.Dedicated to Professor Dr. H. Summary Crystallization of the mesoform of the title compound1 from benzene-pentane in the presence of 5% of (+)(R) p (S) a (R) p -1 afforded crystals, the structure of which was determined in the achiral spacegroup P21/a-C 2h 5 . The configuration (R) p (S) p was confirmed, the torsional angle around the 2,2-bond is 68.6° and 72.1° (C3-C2-C2-C3 and C1-C2-C2-C1, resp.). The twist of the best planes through the perimeter carbonatoms 3, 4, 5 and 7, 8, 9 (3, 4, etc., resp.) is 26.0° and 19.8°. The colours of the crystals of the stereoisomers of1 depend on the torsional angles and thereby on the conjugation of the -systems. Meso, monoclinic (70.3°): light yellow; racemate, opt. inactive (56.2°): yellow; enantiomer of the racemate (34.4°): orange (average -values).

Zusammenfassung Kristallisation der Meso-Form der Titelverbindung1 aus Benzol-Pentan in Gegenwart von 5% (+)(R) p (S) a (R) p -1 lieferte Kristalle, deren Struktur in der achiralen Raumgruppe P21/a-C 2h 5 bestimmt werden konnte: Die Konfiguration (R) p (S) p wurde bestätigt, der Torsionswinkel um die 2,2-Bindung beträgt 68.6 bzw. 72.1° (C3-C2-C2-C3 bzw. C1-C2-C2-C1). Die Verkippung der besten Ebenen, definiert durch die Perimeter-C-Atome 3, 4, 5 und 7, 8, 9 (bzw. 3, 4, etc.) beträgt 26.0 bzw. 19.8°. Die Farben der Kristalle der Stereoisomere von1 hängen von den Torsionswinkeln und damit von der Konjugation der -Systeme ab: Meso, monoklin (70.3°): hellgelb; Racemat, opt. inaktiv (56.2°): gelb: Enantiomer des Racemates (34.4°): orange (gemittelte Werte).

Summary In an attempt to develop potential inhibitors ofUDP-glucuronosyltransferase, some 5-O-amino acid derivatives of uridine were synthesized. N-protectedL-amino acids were coupled at the 5-O-position of 2,3-O-isopropylideneuridine by esterification employing the method of symmetrical anhydrides in presence of 4-dimethylaminopyridine, 5-O-(N-benzyloxycarbonyl-O-tert.butyl-L-threonl)-23-O-isopropylideneuridine (1), 5-O-(N-tert.butyloxycarbonyl-O-benzyl-L-seryl)-2,3-O-isopropylideneuridine and (2), 5-O-(N-tert.butyloxycarbonyl-L-valyl)-2,3-O-isopropylideneuridine (3), and 5-O-(N-tert.butyloxycarbonyl-L-valyl)-2,3-O-isopropylideneuridine (4) were obtained in good yield after column chromatography on silica gel. The treatment of2 withTFA/CH2Cl2 (6:1) at room temperature for 30 min led to a selective removal of theBoc group without deblocking of the 2,3-O-isopropylidene group of uridine. Treatment of2 withTFA/H2O (5:1) at room temperature for 1 h, however, released bothBoc and 2,3-isopropylidene groups. TheZ group of1 was deprotected by catalytic hydrogenolysis over 10% Pd/C/ammonium formate.

Zusammenfassung In einem Versuch, potentielle Inhibitoren derUDP-Glukuronosyl-Transferase zu entwickeln, wurden einige 5-O-Aminosäurederivate des Uridins synthetisiert. N-GeschützteL-Aminosäuren wurden durch Veresterung mit der 5-O-Position des 2,3-isopropylidenuridins gekuppelt (Methode der symmetrischen Anhydride in der Gegenwart von 5-Dimethylaminopyridin). Solcherweise wurden 5-O-(N-Benzyloxycarbonyl-O-tert.butyl-L-threonly)-2,3-O-isopropylidenuridin (1), 5-O-(N-tert.Butyloxycarbonyl-O-benzyl-L-seryl)-2,3-O-isopropylidenuridin (2), 5-O-(N-tert.Butyloxycarbonyl-L-leucyl)-2,3-O-isopropylidenuridin (3) und 5-O-(N-tert.Butyloxycarbonyl-L-valyl)-2,3-O-isopropylidenuridine (4) nach Säulenchromatographie (Kieselgel) in guter Ausbeute hergestellt. Die Behandlung von2 mitTFA/CH2Cl2 (6:1) bei Zimmertemperatur (30 min) führte zu einer selektiven Abspaltung derBoc-Gruppe ohne Deblockierung der 2,3-O-Isopropylidengruppe des Uridins. Eine Behandlung von2 mitTFA/H2O (5:1) bei Zimmertemperatur für 1 Stunde führte hingegen zur Abspaltung sowohl derBoc als auch der 2,3-O-Isopropylidengruppe. DieZ-Gruppe von1 wurde durch katalytische Hydrogenolyse auf 10% Pd/C/Ammoniumformiat abgespalten.

The analysis of the experimental data for the energy of the longest wavelength optical transitions n,opt of substituted polymethines X (CH)2n+1 X shows that in the asymptotic case (n) ,opt does not tend to zero, as it follows from the empirically established correlations, but has a finite, non-zero value. It is shown that the energy gap of odd polymethines is the same as that of the even polymethines - the polyenes (E 2 eV). The substituents (X N, O, B) are responsible for the appearance of levels in the gap. These, depending on the substituent character, are vacant (X B) or occupied (X N, O). The transition from or to such a level determines the longest wavelength optical transition energy of polymethines.  相似文献

The reactions of TMA4Ge4S10 (TMA=tetramethylammonium), Cu(NO3)23H2Oand 4,4-bipy under hydrothermal environment result in the formation of (H2bipy)2Ge4S10(bipy)7H2O (1), which has been structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray analysis. The 3-D structure of 1 can be viewed as an inorganic-organic hybrid supramolecular hydrogen-bonding (hydrogen bonds: O–HO, N–HN, C–HO, N–HO, and O–HS) and - stacking network containing Ge4S4– 10 clusters and novel [H2bipybipyH2bipy] trimers.  相似文献

Monolayers of poly-L-methionine (PM) and poly--methyl-L-glutamate (PMG), spread at an air-water interface, exhibit a high compressibility plateau region at 10 dyn/cm and 18 dyn/cm in their respective-A curves. This behaviour is related to a-helical conformation of the polypeptide molecules in the said interface.Comparative studies of the areas per residue observed in the spreading isotherms, with the areas calculated from molecular models, indicate that the polypeptide molecules should be associated in parallel, forming islets of at least 5-helix chains.Mixed monolayers corresponding to the poly-L-methionine (PM)-1,2 dioleyl-L--phosphatidylcholine (DOPC) and poly--methyl-L-glutamate (PMG)-1,2 dioleyl-L--phosphatidylcholine (DOPC) systems, follow, in every case, the additivity rule for monolayer composition, any indicating that its components are insoluble in the surface mixture. In the case of mixed monolayers of PM-DOPC, a certain degree of compatibility is possible among its components, as a modulation of the plateau region is observed in the spreading isotherms, while for the PMG-DOPC system the plateau region appears at the same surface pressure value as the isotherm corresponding to pure PMG polypeptide.Instituto de Química-Física Rocasolano, C.S.I.C. Intercalation of ,-alkanediamines, NH2(CH2) n NH2 (n = 3–10), into layered aluminium dihydrogen triphosphate dihydrate, AlH2(P3(O10... 2H2O, was investigated by XRD, DTA-TG, elemental analysis, and solid-state 31P, 13C and 27Al NMR. ,-Alkanediamines are intercalated to form a monomolecular layer in the interlayer region, in which the alkanediamines incline at 57 ± 5° to the phosphate layers, whereas n-alkylamines form a bilayer structure with the same inclination angle. Two amino groups in an ,-alkanediamine molecule bridge the layered sheets of phosphates.  相似文献

Equilibrium constant (K), enthalpy change (H), and entropy change (S) values have been determined calorimetrically at 25°C in 90%MeOH 10%H2O (v/v) for the interactions of pyridino-18-crown-6 (P18C6) and diketopyridino-18-crown-6 (K2P18C6) with perchlorate salts of ammonium, benzylammonium,-phenylethylammonium,-phenylethylammonium, and-(1-naphthyl)ethyl-ammonium cations. The crystal structure of the complex of P18C6 with benzylammonium perchlorate was determined by X-ray crystallography. The1H 1D and 2D NMR spectra of some of these complexes were used to elucidate their structural features in solution. The logK values for the interaction of the ammonium cations with P18C6 are larger than those with K2P18C6, probably due to the higher degree of structural flexibility of P18C6. The Dinitrone 2,2-diphenyl-3,3-bi-3H-indole-1,1-dioxide acts as a demethylating and dehydrogenating agent. The mechanism of interaction of the dinitrone with donors and acceptors does not involve intermediate charge-transfer complexes probably due to a self association between dinitrone molecules (as supported by X-ray determinations). The crystal structure of the dinitrone was obtained by direct methods;a=9.967 (2),b=19.817 (3),c=10.875 (2) Å, =111.2 (2)°, space group P21/n. The finalR andR w were 0.089 and 0.063 for all measured reflexes.

Zusammenfassung Das Dinitron 2,2-Diphenyl-3,3-bi-3H-indol-1,1-dioxid wirkt als Demethylierungs- und Oxydationsmittel. Die Wechselwirkung des Dinitrons mit Elektronen-Acceptoren und Elektronen-Donatoren geht wegen der Selbstassoziation zwischen den Dinitron-Molekülen ohne die dazwischenliegende Bildung eines Charge-Transfer-Komplexes vor sich; das wird auch von Röntgenstrukturuntersuchungen gestützt. Die Kristallstruktur wurde mit direkten Methoden ermittelt:a=9.967 (2),b=19.817 (3),c=10.875 (2) Å; =111.2 (2)°. P21/n. Die endgültigen WerteR undR w waren 0.089 und 0.063 für alle gemessenen Reflexe.

The determination of the properties of aqueous salt solutions of poly(ethylene oxide) has been extended to the cloud point, and temperature measurements have been made at several concentrations for various salts (flourides, iodides, acetates, formates, phosphates, bromides, thiosulfates and perchlorates). The resulting dependency of the critical temperatures (mostly between 290–350 K) on the molar concentration can be expressed as sequences showing the decreasing effect of anion species or cation species in salting out the polymer. The decreasing order of effectiveness of the anions in reducing the temperature is PO 4 > HPO 4 > S2O 3 > H2PO 4 >F > HCOO > CH3COO > Br > I. The order for cations is K+ Rb+ Na+ Cs+ > Sr++ > Ba++ Ca++ > NH 4 + > Li+. The changes brought about in temperatures by the salts were found to be the results of the changes taking place in the hydrophilic and hydrophobic interactions among polymer, solvent and additive salts and of the change of water structure by structure making or structure breaking ions, and of the influence of salts on the hydration sheath of the polymer.  相似文献

The inclusion complexation of-CD with 1-substituted naphthalenes has been investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy. It was observed that the association constants were influenced by the molar refraction (R m), hydrophobic constant ( x ), and Hammett constant ( x ) of substituents in the guest compounds. The thermodynamic parameters G0, H 0, and S 0 determined by measuring the temperature-dependentK a values shows that inclusion complex formation is enthalpy driven. The results are discussed in terms of enthalpy-entropy compensation.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation is made of the electronic states ofp-benzoquinone (PBQ), methyl substituted PBQ's and 1,4-naphthoquinone (NQ). In accord with experiment, the lowest triplet state of PBQ is calculated to be3 B 1g (n, *), while that for duroquinone (DQ) is3 B 3g (, *). The electron densities of these states are consistent with the hypothesis that3 n, * states lead to oxetan formation and3, * states to cyclobutanes. It is predicted that trimethyl PBQ might form both adducts, as the two states are calculated to be nearly degenerate.The photochemistry of NQ is more complex. The lowest excited triplet state is calculated to be ofn, * symmetry, in accord with experiment; however, several other states are predicted near in energy, and the photochemistry cannot be rationalized unambiguously.This work was supported in part by the National Research Council of Canada.  相似文献

The kinetics of oxidation of glycine and valine by chloramine-T in hydrochloric acid medium has been studied. The rate of disappearance of chloramine-T shows a first order dependence on both chloramine-T and the amino acid, and an inverse first order with respect to [H+]. The solvent isotope effect was studied using heavy water. The kinetic parameters,E a ,Arrhenius factorA, H and S and G have been calculated. A rate law in agreement with experimental results has been derived. A mechanism is proposed.

Zusammenfassung Die Kinetik der Oxidation von Glycin und Valin mit Chloramin-T in Salzsäure wurde untersucht. Die Geschwindigkeitskonstante des Wegreagierens von Chloramin-T zeigt eine Abhängigkeit erster Ordnung sowohl von Chloramin-T als auch von der Aminosäure und ist invers erster Ordnung bezüglich [H+]. Der Lösungsmittel-Isotopeneffekt wurde mit D2O untersucht. Es wurden die kinetischen Parameter,E a , derArrhenius-FaktorA, H , S und G , bestimmt. Ein Mechanismus, der in Übereinstimmung mit den experimentenllen Daten ist, wird vorgeschlagen.

Configuration interaction (CI) studies of ground, n *, * * electronically excited states are reported for pyridine N-oxide. The transition energy to the lowest * excited 1 B 2 state is calculated at 4.35 eV, compared to the experimental spectrum range of 3.67–4.0 eV. This state lies below the lowest n * excited 1 A 2 state calculated at 4.81 eV above the ground state. The only experimentally reported triplet state at 2.92 eV above the ground state is predicted to be the 3 A 1 (*) state. The calculated energy lies at 3.27 eV. Numerous other high-lying singlet states as well as the triplet states have also been calculated. The intramolecular charge transfer character of the ground and the excited states have been studied in terms of the calculated dipole moment and other physical properties.  相似文献

Starting from the demi-H 2 + -model for Rydberg states, ab initio calculations of the energy and the wave function for some excited states of H2 have been carried out with the help of diatomic orbitals. The potential curves and wave functions for the following states: 21 g< /+ , 31 g< /+ , 13 g< /+ , 23 g< /+ , 11 u< /+ , 21 u< /+ , 13 u< /+ , 23 u< /+ , 33 u< /+ , 11 g , 13 g , 11 u , and 13 u , have been calculated by a complete CI (configuration interaction) calculation in the sense that all configurations of the state symmetry have been used which can be formed from a given basis set. From the wave functions thus obtained the natural spin orbitals are calculated subsequently to the variational calculations. The dependence of the occupation numbers of the natural spin orbitals on internuclear distance is interpreted according to the model and is used for the explanation of the special features like double minima and maxima which occur in the potential curves of H2. For the curves of the occupation numbers a non-crossing rule in analogy to that for potential curves is valid. The potential curves for the states 13 g and 13 u have been improved by the use of linear combinations of diatomic orbitals with different nuclear charges, which allow a flexible transition to linear combinations of atomic orbitals.Dedicated to Professor Iwan N. The high-resolution FTIR spectrum of the fundamental 8 of borazine 10B3 14N3 1H6 was reanalyzed taking into account the BB resonance with the combination band (10 + 17). A parameter set for the states 8 = 1 and 10 = 17 = 1, respectively, is given, reproducing the observed spectrum at least up to J = 30 with experimental accuracy.  相似文献

The formation and transformations of blue silver ( max 700 nm) during -irradiation of a weakly alkaline (pH 9) aqueous solution containing AgClO4, polyacrylic acid (PAA), and isopropanol were studied. We believe that blue silver is a linear silver cluster stabilized on a polymeric molecule. During radiation-chemical reduction the cluster is transformed into new clusters ( max = 365 and 460 nm). When all of the Ag+ ions present in the solution have been reduced, clusters coalesce and a new phase,i.e., colloidal silver particles, forms. Summary Transition metal complexes of the composition [Fe(4-X-bzimpy)2](ClO4)2 [bzimpy = 2,6-bis-(benzimidazol-2-yl)pyridine and X=H, OH, Cl] show thermally accessible spin-crossover behaviour in solution that depends on both the ligand and the solvent.1H-NMR spectroscopy and UV-visible spectroscopy measurements suggest that ligand substituent effects, solvent donor-acceptor properties and hydrogen-bonding may be employed to fine-tune the ligand field strength and hence to affect the spin-crossover behaviour. The ligand substitution changes in solution are reflected by the magnetic data (X=H:exp=2.50 B; X=OH:exp=4.20 B and X=Cl:exp=4.30 B at 294 K in MeOH), and by the shift of metal-to-ligandcharge-transfer band (X=H, =557 nm; X=OH, =520 nm; X=Cl, =500 nm). [Fe(bzimpy)2](ClO4)2 exhibits a pronounced spin-crossover equilibrium (1A1 5T2) in solution (K sc=0.26 at 293 K; exp=1.30 3.40 B for 213 328 K in MeOH). A small variation of magnetic moments of [Fe(4-OH-bzimpy)2](ClO4)2 (exp=3.77 4.73 B at 220 332 K) might indicate either the existence of (temperature dependent) hydrogen bonding between the ligand and solvent molecules or a temperature dependent variation in the population of the5Eg sublevel. It has been shown by the CNDO method that the bathochromic shift of the long-wave absorption band in the transition from allylstannane to compounds of the type C=C-C-Sn-X and C=C-Sn-X (where X is a heavy atom) is connected with the formation of a low-energy vacant *S-X orbital, localized mainly in the region of the Sn-X chemical bond, and of an occupied Sn-X orbital, the energy of which is somewhat higher than of the C-Sn orbital. The dependence of the position of the long-wave absorbance region on conformation is related to the fact that, in planar and nonplanar conformers, the long-wave transitions are of a different type ( * and *, respectively); the bathochromic shift is determined to a large degree by the difference in the energies of the highest occupied MO ( - ) in the s-trans form. In the nonplanar conformers the heavy atom orbitals interact with the -orbital of the ethylene moiety through the bridge group; this leads to a significant delocalization of the HOMO and to a considerable change in its energy. On the other hand, their interaction with the *-orbital in compounds of the C=C-C-Sn-X type is very low and does not favor the delocalization of lower vacant MO. In vinyldistannane the *-orbital is noticeably delocalized, due to the interaction with the *Sn-Sn orbital in planar and with the *Sn-Sn orbital in nonplanar conformers.N. D.
