The specific features of magnetization in antiferromagnetic semimetals with a low charge carrier density on a triangular lattice in a high magnetic field are studied. It is demonstrated that the well-known plateau in the magnetic field dependence of the magnetization manifesting itself in the subsystem of localized S = 1/2 spins is actually not strictly horizontal but has a slight positive slope. It is found that an abrupt change in the frequency of quantum oscillations of the magnetization in the itinerant subsystem should be observed at the magnetic field values corresponding to the edges of this plateau owing to the strong sd(f) exchange coupling.  相似文献

de Haas-van Alphen oscillation spectrum of two-dimensional systems is studied for general power law energy dispersion, yielding a Fermi surface area of the form S(E) ∝ E α for a given energy E. The case α = 1 stands for the parabolic energy dispersion. It is demonstrated that the periodicity of the magnetic oscillations in inverse field can depend notably on the temperature. We evaluated analytically the Fourier spectrum of these oscillations to evidence the frequency shift and smearing of the main peak structure as the temperature increases.  相似文献

Collective intraband charge-density excitations in the quasi-two-dimensional electron system of double GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells in an external parallel magnetic field B are studied by inelastic light scattering. It has been found that the energy of the excitations under study (acoustic and optical plasmons) exhibits anisotropy depending on the mutual orientation of B and the excitation quasi-momentum k. It is shown theoretically that, in a strong parallel magnetic field, the effects associated with the finite width of the quantum wells dominate over the effects associated with interlayer tunneling and determine the anisotropy of plasmons. The experimental data are compared with a theoretical calculation.  相似文献

Differential resistance r xx in a double GaAs quantum well with two occupied size-quantization subbands has been studied at a temperature of 4.2 K in magnetic fields B < 2 T. The oscillations of r xx with a period in the inverse magnetic field determined by the value of a dc bias current I dc have been discovered in the electron system under investigation at high filling factors in the presence of I dc. The amplitude of magneto-intersubband oscillations has been shown to increase in the r xx oscillation maxima, while the oscillation reversal has been observed in the minima. The discovered oscillations have been shown to be due to Zener tunneling of electrons between Landau levels tilted by a Hall electric field. The experimental data are qualitatively explained by the effect of intersubband transitions on the I dc-dependent component of the electron distribution function.  相似文献

The effect of millimeter wave radiation on the electronic transport in a GaAs double quantum well at a temperature of 4.2 K in a magnetic field of up to 2 T has been studied. Resistance (conductance) oscillations have been shown to appear in the two-dimensional electronic system under investigation at high filling factors. The magnetic field positions of the oscillation maxima are determined by the condition ΔSAS/? = lωc, where ΔSAS = (E 2 ? E 1) is the size quantization sublevel splitting in the quantum well, ωc is the cyclotron frequency, and l is a positive integer. It has been found that the microwave field substantially modifies the oscillations in the double quantum well, which results in alternating two-frequency oscillations of photoresistance with the inverse magnetic field.  相似文献

Using the Green’s function technique, we respectively investigate the electron transport properties of two spin components through the system of a T-shaped double quantum dot structure coupled to a Majorana bound state, in which only one quantum dot is connected with two metallic leads. We explore the interplay between the Fano effect and the MBSs for different dot-MBS coupling strength λ, dot-dot coupling strength t, and MBS-MBS coupling strength εM in the noninteracting case. Then the Coulomb interaction and magnetic field effect on the conductance spectra are investigated. Our results indicate that G(ω) is not affected by the Majorana bound states, but a “0.5” conductance signature occurs in the vicinities of Fermi level of G(ω). This robust property persists for a wide range of dot-dot coupling strength and dot-MBS coupling strength, but it can be destroyed by Coulomb interaction in quantum dots. By adjusting the size and direction of magnetic field around the quantum dots, the “0.5” conductance signature damaged by U can be restored. At last, the spin magnetic moments of two dots by applying external magnetic field are also predicted.  相似文献

The interaction between the quantum states of two circularly asymmetric superconducting aluminum rings forming figure eight, threaded by a magnetic flux and biased by an external sinusoidal ac current with zero dc component, has been investigated. Quantum oscillations in the dependence V dc(B) of the rectified dc voltage on magnetic field for these structures have been measured at different external currents and temperatures close to critical. Fourier and wavelet analyses of the function V dc(B) have revealed, along with the two fundamental ring frequencies, various combination frequencies; this fact is indicative of interaction in the structure. Deviation of the function V dc(B) from oddness with respect to the magnetic field direction has been found for the first time.  相似文献

The Aharonov-Bohm-type oscillations in the ballistic magnetoconductivity of an open quantum dot ~1 μm in size created in the GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure by local anode oxidation have been studied. The measurements have been performed at temperatures of 4.2 and 1.5 K, which are high enough to expect a considerable suppression of the oscillations with period h/e (in magnetic flux units). The magnetoconductivity oscillations with a period less than the quantum h/e with respect to the magnetic field are observed at 1.5 K. The explanation is proposed on the basis of the interference of the electrons moving along the time-reversed paths inscribed into the quantum dot that have their initial and final points at one of the contacts, i.e., corresponding to a period of h/2e.  相似文献

The study of Weyl semimetals is one of the most challenging problems of condensed matter physics. These materials exhibit interesting properties in a magnetic field. In this work, we investigate the Landau bands and the density of states (DOS) oscillations in a Weyl semimetal in crossed magnetic and electric fields. An expression is obtained for the energy spectrum of the system using the following three different methods: an algebraic approach, a Lorentz shift-based approach, and a quasi-classical approach. It is interesting that the energy spectrum calculated in terms of the quasi-classical approach coincides with the spectrum obtained using the microscopic approaches. An electric field is shown to change the Landau bands radically. In addition, the classical motion of a three-dimensional Dirac fermion in crossed fields is studied. In the case of a Dirac spectrum, the longitudinal (with respect to magnetic field) component of momentum (p z H) is shown to be an oscillating function of the magnetic field. When the electric field is vH/c, the Landau levels collapse and the motion becomes fully linear in an unusual manner. In this case, the wavefunction of bulk states vanishes and only states with p z = 0 are retained. An electric field affects the character of DOS oscillations. An analytical expression is obtained for the quantum capacitance in crossed fields in the cases of strong and weak electric fields. Thus, an electric field is an additional parameter for adjusting the diamagnetic properties of Weyl semimetals.  相似文献

The behavior of the electronic system of heavy-fermion metals is considered. We show that there exist at least two main types of the behavior when the system is near quantum critical point, which can be identified as the fermion condensation quantum phase transition (FCQPT). We show that the first type is represented by the behavior of a highly correlated Fermi liquid, while the second type is depicted by the behavior of a strongly correlated Fermi liquid. If the system approaches FCQPT from the disordered phase, it can be viewed as a highly correlated Fermi liquid which at low temperatures exhibits the behavior of Landau Fermi liquid (LFL). At higher temperatures T, it demonstrates the non-Fermi liquid (NFL) behavior which can be converted into the LFL behavior by the application of magnetic fields B. If the system has undergone FCQPT, it can be considered as a strongly correlated Fermi liquid which demonstrates the NFL behavior even at low temperatures. It can be turned into LFL by applying magnetic fields B. We show that the effective mass M* diverges at the very point that the Neél temperature goes to zero. The B-T phase diagrams of both liquids are studied. We demonstrate that these B-T phase diagrams have a strong impact on the main properties of heavy-fermion metals, such as the magnetoresistance, resistivity, specific heat, magnetization, and volume thermal expansion.  相似文献

The influence of a dc electric current I dc on the low-temperature magnetotransport of high-mobility electrons in a GaAs double quantum well with two occupied size-quantization levels has been studied. The oscillations of the resistance ρ xx , which are periodic in the inverse magnetic field, have been shown to appear in the quasitwo-dimensional system under consideration at a temperature of T = 4.2 K in magnetic fields B > 0.1 T; the oscillations are caused by isoenergetic resonance transitions of the electrons between the Landau levels of different subbands. The inversion of the oscillations with an increase in I dc has been discovered. It has been found that the observed effect is due to the electron transport in a nonlinear regime.  相似文献

The nonlinear electron transport in GaAs double quantum wells with two occupied size-quantization levels has been studied at a temperature of 4.2 K in the magnetic fields B < 1 T. It has been found that a sinusoidal electric current I ac induces the generation of higher harmonics of both longitudinal V xx (B) and Hall V xy (B) voltages in the quasi-two-dimensional electron system under consideration. The Hall voltage oscillating in the magnetic field has been shown to appear in the electron system with two occupied size-quantization levels in the presence of microwave radiation and dc electric current I dc. The experimental data indicate the independent contributions of the diagonal and off-diagonal components of the conductivity tensor to the nonlinear magnetotransport at high filling factors.  相似文献

The nonlinear and generally unsteady dynamics of domain walls with a vortex internal structure in a constant magnetic field H is investigated on the basis of the numerical solution of the Landau-Lifshitz equation for a 2D distribution of magnetization M in magnetic films with planar anisotropy taking into account exactly the main interaction, including the dipole-dipole interaction. It is shown that in addition to field H c (bifurcation field) above which the motion of a wall becomes unsteady and its internal structure experiences global dynamic changes, there exists a field H0 separating two steady motions of the wall with different structures. The data clarifying the physical origin of the nonlinear dynamic rearrangement of the wall structure are presented. New rearrangement mechanisms associated with the generation and attenuation of vortices as well as their tunneling through the central surface of the wall are established. The existence of subperiod oscillations of the wall velocity in a static field in addition to the oscillations associated with the precession of M around the easy magnetization axis is predicted. The period T of dynamic variations of the wall structure is studied, and an empirical formula is proposed for describing the singular behavior of the T(H) dependence near H=H Hc with the critical index depending on the film parameters. The bifurcation process is studied, and a nonlinear dependence of the critical field H c on the film thickness and the saturation magnetization is established. The possibility of direct experimental investigation of the dynamic rearrangement of the internal structure of the wall is indicated.  相似文献

The equation of the magnetization of a hexagonal crystal is derived for the first time for an arbitrary orientation of the external magnetic field relative to the crystallographic c axis. In order to clarify the magnetization mechanism for a real ensemble of small particles in the framework of the given problem, surface anisotropy (which is significant for nanosize objects) was taken into account along with crystalline magnetic anisotropy and anisotropy in the particle shape. Model computer experiments prove that the magnetization curves for nanocrystals oriented in a polar angle range of 65–90° exhibit an anomaly in the form of a jump, indicating a first-order spin-reorientation phase transition. This explains a larger steepness of the experimental curve reconstructed taking into account the interaction between particles as compared to the theoretical dependence obtained by Stoner and Wohlfarth [IEEE Trans. Magn. MAG 27 (4), 3469 (1991)]. An analysis of variation of the characteristic anisotropy surface and its cross section with increasing ratio |K2|/K1 of the crystalline magnetic anisotropy constants upon a transition from a macroscopic to a nanoscopic crystal shows that surface anisotropy leads to a change in the magnetic structure. As a result, an additional easy magnetization direction emerges in the basal plane apart from the easiest magnetization direction (along the c axis). The direction of hard magnetization emerges from the basal plane, the angle of its orientation relative to the c axis being a function of the ratio | K2|/K1.  相似文献

A comparative study of the magnetization curves of continuous and porous multilayered Pd10nm/[Co0.3nm]/Pd0.55nm]15/Pd2nm films deposited on an anodized TiO2 template was performed by magnetometry. Based on the comparison of the dependences of coercive field HC on angle θ between the easy-magnetization axis and the direction of external magnetic field H with theoretical dependences HC(θ) for the magnetization reversal by domain walls motion (according to the Kondorski model) and the rotation of magnetic moments (by the Stoner–Wohlfarth model), the differences in the mechanisms of magnetization reversal for two mentioned types of the films were revealed. The correlation between the difference in the morphologies of the continuous and porous films and revealed change in the mechanisms of the magnetization reversal, as well as the changes in values of HC and calculated constants of the magnetic anisotropy, is discussed.  相似文献

It has been shown that, at the initial stage of the magnetization curve, the magnetic susceptibility of magnetic liquid determined as χ = Mμ0/B (M is the magnetization, B is the magnetic induction in a sample) obeys the Curie law, and the magnetic susceptibility determined as χ = M/H (H is the magnetic field intensity in a sample) obeys the Curie–Weiss law. Since the Curie law is a particular case of the Langevin dependence, it is assumed that an experimental magnetization curve is described by the Langevin formula with a Langevin parameter ξ = PB/kT, where P is the magnetic moment of a particle and T is the temperature. Experimental verification has shown that, at parameter ξ, the mean relative deviation between the values of M measured and calculated by the Langevin formula is 5%. This deviation can be accounted for by the influence of dispersion of the magnetic moments of nanoparticles.  相似文献

Quantum (step) magnetization curves have been analyzed for a spin pair with antiferromagnetic interaction in the presence of a magnetic field that is parallel to the easy magnetization axis. Both semiclassical and numerical analyses have been performed for a wide range of the anisotropy parameter and spins up to S ? 100. In the dependence of the anisotropy character (single-ion or exchange), a spin jump larger than unity can appear in the magnetization curve or jumps can be concentrated in a narrow range of the field. In addition, regions of the problem parameters have been revealed where behavior is semiclassical for low spins on the order of S = 5 and where behavior is substantially quantum even for S → ∞.  相似文献

Time dependences of the azimuthal component of the torque T φ(t) acting on magnetization are calculated to understand the nature of the delayed magnetization acceleration effect observed during the 90° pulsed magnetization of real ferrite–garnet films, in which biaxial anisotropy exists alongside with in-plane anisotropy. A calculation technique based on analyzing an operating point trajectory is used. Calculations show that if the effective anisotropy field H K2 is comparable to the magnetizing pulse amplitude H ma, abruptly ascending regions at characteristic times t* in curves T φ(t) arise, in the limit of which nonlinear magnetization oscillations formed. The shape of these regions depends weakly on the magnetizing pulse front duration τf. This explains the reason of the weak dependence of the nonlinear magnetization oscillations on duration of the magnetizing pulse front. Calculations also show that the main features of the delayed acceleration effect are less clear upon an increase of the pulse amplitude: the behavior of curves T φ(t) becomes smoother near times t*, and an increase in the pulse front duration is accompanied by a stronger drop in the intensity of magnetization oscillations.  相似文献

This paper investigates the influence of the spin squeezing parameter γ, the external magnetic field B and the temperature T on the concurrence (C), the quantum discord (QD), and the geometric quantum discord (GQD) in the two-qubit two-axis spin squeezing model in thermal equilibrium under an external magnetic field. The results show that the spin squeezing parameter γ has a positive effect on all three correlations. When the system is in the ground state, the external magnetic field B has a weakening effect on the three types of quantum correlations. Particularly, the spin squeezing parameter can be used to alleviate the destructive effect of the magnetic field on the geometric quantum discord. At a relatively high temperature, the externally applied magnetic field B helps enhance the quantum discord (QD). Further, the quantum discord is more robust than concurrence, and thus is more suitable for use as a quantum resource in information processing.  相似文献

Analysis of the quantum oscillations of magnetoresistance (the Shubnikov-de Haas effect) in Bi1 ? x Sb x alloys with an antimony content in the range 0.255 < x < 0.260 has revealed a Lifshitz electronic-topological transition, which quite possibly can be explained in terms of the existence of a saddle point in the energy spectrum of these compositions. Such a peculiarity comes into existence when the direct band gap at the L point of the Brillouin zone in the semiconductor region of the compounds with x > 0.04 becomes negative. This compel one to revise essentially all earlier calculations based on the previously obtained values of the band parameters. In order to check the agreement between the new values of the band parameters and the data on the density of states obtained from measurements of the thermopower in the classical limit of strong magnetic fields, theoretical calculations of the charge carrier concentration n and the density of states at the Fermi level ρ(E F) have been performed for the case of negative values of the direct band gap at the L point E gL. The calculations of the parameters n and ρ(E F) have demonstrated that the change in E gL and the corresponding correction of the band parameters ensure good agreement with the experimental data. According to these calculations, one electronic-topological transition occurs at an antimony content x ~ 0.165, when a saddle point appears in the energy spectrum. The second transition is associated with the transformation of the six ellipsoids of the Fermi surface into three dumbbell-like figures at antimony concentrations in the range 0.255 < x < 0.260.  相似文献
