We present a uniplanar coplanar-waveguide 3-dB tandem coupler operating at V-band frequencies. The uniplanar structure is monolithically fabricated by using two-section parallel-coupled lines and air-bridge crossovers replacing the conventional multilayer or bonded structures. Due to an optimized tandem structure and non-bonded crossovers minimizing the parasitic components, a maximum coupling of 2.5 dB is measured at 62 GHz with a 2 dB bandwidth of 83%, while a high directivity factor of 33 dB is simultaneously obtained at 58–62 GHz. Over the entire design frequency range of 30–90 GHz, we achieve good phase unbalance of 90 ± 6.0°, as well as return loss and isolation lower than −23 and −16 dB, respectively.  相似文献

We present large-area, edge-emitting, photonic-crystal (PC) distributed-feedback (DFB) quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) emitting at λ∼7.6 μm and operating up to a heat sink temperature of 80 °C. The lasers use the anticrossing of index- and Bragg-guided dispersions of rectangular lattice to control the optical mode in the wafer plane. Single-mode operation with a high signal-to-noise ratio of about 20 dB and narrow beam divergence of 6.2° was obtained. A high peak power of 630 mW at 20 °C and still more than 160 mW at 60 °C was observed. Such a high performance single-mode device is very important to expand the potential applications in the long-wave infrared range.  相似文献

A method of 40 GHz phase stable short pulses generation is experimentally demonstrated. It is based on a dual parallel Mach–Zehnder modulator (DPMZM) driven by only one electrical sinusoidal clock and two cascaded phase modulators. The generated pulses are characterized with full-width-at-half-maximum pulse width of 1.9 ps, extinction ratio of 27 dB, timing jitter of 36 fs and signal to noise ratio over 30 dB. The high quality and phase stability of the pulses are further experimentally verified in a 4 × 40 GBaud differential quadrature phase shift keying (DQPSK) optical-time-division-multiplexing (OTDM) system.  相似文献

With and without multi walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) loaded graphene based optically transparent patch antennas are designed to resonate at 6 THz. Their radiation characteristics are analyzed in 5.66–6.43 THz band. The optically transparent graphene is deployed as the patch and ground plane of the antennas, which are separated by a 2.5 μm thick flexible polyimide substrate. By shorting the microstrip line and ground plane of the antenna with a MWCNT via, the return loss of the antenna is improved. The peak gain of 3.3dB at 6.2 THz and a gain greater than 3dB in 5.66–6.43 THz band is obtained for antenna loaded without MWCNT. Both the antennas achieved a −10dB impedance bandwidth of 12.83%. Gain, directivity and radiation efficiency of the proposed antennas are compared with conventional transparent patch antennas and graphene based non-transparent antennas. The antenna structures are simulated by using finite element method based electromagnetic simulator-Ansys HFSS.  相似文献

In this paper, we designed and fabricated a four-channel optical add-drop multiplexer (OADM) based on dual racetrack resonators. The size of the fabricated device is only 2400 μm × 500 μm. The fabricated device can effectively and perfectly realize the signals upload and download. The free spectral range (FSR) of OADM is about 15.2 nm. We take the spectral responses near 1555 nm as an example. When the device acts as an optical drop multiplexer, the minimum insertion loss is 4.481 dB and the maximum extinction ratio is 31.931 dB. The maximum adjacent channels crosstalk is -9.845 dB. When the device acts as an optical add multiplexer, the minimum insertion loss is 0.944 dB and all of the extinction ratios are bigger than 25 dB. The maximum crosstalk is -16.531 dB which indicates the crosstalk can be neglected.  相似文献

Osmotic dehydration (OD) of carambola slices were carried out using glucose, sucrose, fructose and glycerol as osmotic agents with 70 °Bx solute concentration, 50 °C of temperature and for time of 180 min. Glycerol and sucrose were selected on the basis of their higher water loss, weight reduction and lowers solid gain. Further the optimization of OD of carambola slices (5 mm thick) were carried out under different process conditions of temperature (40–60 °C), concentration of sucrose and glycerol (50–70 °Bx), time (180 min) and fruit to solution ratio (1:10) against various responses viz. water loss, solid gain, texture, rehydration ratio and sensory score according to a composite design. The optimized value for temperature, concentration of sucrose and glycerol has been found to be 50 °C, 66 °Bx and 66 °Bx respectively. Under optimized conditions the effect of ultrasound for 10, 20, 30 min and centrifugal force (2800 rpm) for 15, 30, 45 and 60 min on OD of carambola slices were checked. The controlled samples showed 68.14% water loss and 13.05% solid gain in carambola slices. While, the sample having 30 min ultrasonic treatment showed 73.76% water loss and 9.79% solid gain; and the sample treated with centrifugal force for 60 min showed 75.65% water loss and 6.76% solid gain. The results showed that with increasing in treatment time the water loss, rehydration ratio were increased and solid gain, texture were decreased.  相似文献

The International Standard ISO 140-5 on field measurements of airborne sound insulation of façades establishes that the directivity of the measurement loudspeaker should be such that the variation in the local direct sound pressure level (ΔSPL) on the sample is ΔSPL < 5 dB (or ΔSPL < 10 dB for large façades). This condition is usually not very easy to accomplish nor is it easy to verify whether the loudspeaker produces such a uniform level. Direct sound pressure levels on the ISO standard façade essentially depend on the distance and directivity of the loudspeaker used. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the test geometry for measuring sound insulation and explains how the loudspeaker directivity, combined with distance, affects the acoustic level distribution on the façade. The first sections of the paper are focused on analysing the measurement geometry and its influence on the direct acoustic level variations on the façade. The most favourable and least favourable positions to minimise these direct acoustic level differences are found, and the angles covered by the façade in the reference system of the loudspeaker are also determined. Then, the maximum dimensions of the façade that meet the conditions of the ISO 140-5 standard are obtained for the ideal omnidirectional sound source and the piston radiating in an infinite baffle, which is chosen as the typical radiation pattern for loudspeakers. Finally, a complete study of the behaviour of different loudspeaker radiation models (such as those usually utilised in the ISO 140-5 measurements) is performed, comparing their radiation maps on the façade for searching their maximum dimensions and the most appropriate radiation configurations.  相似文献

We propose and analyze a high effective Q-factor triangular ring resonator (TRR) coupled with an asymmetric Mach–Zehnder interferometer (AMZI), in which the long evanescent fields on a total internal reflection (TIR) mirror in the TRR and the field cancelation by the phase difference of each path in the AMZI are utilized. The TRR is employed in order to more effectively measure the quantities that occur during biological events because the evanescent field of the TIR mirror with its sharp incident angle is influenced by the Goos–Hänchen shift. In this paper, we report upon the AMZI-coupled TRR sensor structure with the high effective Q-factor of about 105 obtained through the optimization of the AMZI path-length. The sensitivity of the resonance shift when changing the refractive index of 1 × 10? 4 at the incidence angle of 22.92° has been identified to be as high as 0.48 × 104 nm/RIU. In addition, the power sensitivity of the AMZI-coupled TRR with a 17 dB attenuation is 5.7 × 105 dB/RIU.  相似文献

The pyrolytic decomposition of layered basic zinc acetate (LBZA) nanobelts (NBs) into nanocrystalline ZnO NBs is investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and photoluminescence (PL). We also report on the gas sensing response of the resulting ZnO nanomaterial to CO. The LBZA NBs are grown at 65 °C in an aqueous solution of zinc acetate dihydrate. AFM and SEM results show as-grown products possess the characteristic layered structure of the LBZA crystals. XRD and XPS results show that annealing as-grown products at 210 °C in air causes a transformation from zinc acetate to nanocrystalline ZnO NBs via thermal decomposition. The ZnO crystalline domain size increases with temperature from 9.2 nm at 200 °C to 94 nm at 1000 °C, as measured from XRD. SEM shows evidence of sintering at 600 °C. The thickness of the NBs, determined via AFM, ranges from 10 to 50 nm and remains approximately constant with annealing temperature. XPS confirmed the chemical transformation from zinc acetate to ZnO and showed a significant remaining zinc hydroxide component for the ZnO NBs consistent with published results. PL measurements at room temperature show a blue shift in peak emission as the nanobelts change from LBZA to ZnO at 200 °C. Above this transition temperature, the ZnO nanobelts possess strong band edge emission at 390 nm and little broad band emission in the visible region. The AFM and SEM images reveal that the crystallites within the nanobelts orientate in rows along the long axis during annealing. This structure provides a high surface area to volume ratio of aligned nanoparticles which is beneficial for gas sensing applications. Gas sensors fabricated from 400 °C annealed nanobelts showed a response of 1.62 when exposed to 200 ppm of CO in dry air at 400 °C, as defined by the ratio of resistance before and during exposure. This indicates that ZnO nanostructures obtained by thermal decomposition of LBZA NBs could provide a cost effective route to high sensitivity gas sensors.  相似文献

A kind of polarization splitter in ZnTe tellurite glass three-core photonic crystal fiber has been proposed. The polarization splitter is based on the phenomenon of resonant tunneling. We use the finite element method and the full-vector beam propagating method to analyze the characteristics of three-core photonic crystal fiber. Compare with the silica glass three-core PCF, the ZnTe tellurite glass three-core PCF have higher extinction ratios and lower coupling loss, the extinction ratios ERA = ? 164.2681 dB and ERC = ? 37.1742 dB at the wavelength λ = 1.55 μm, and the coupling loss is lower than 0.02 dB. The 8.7983-mm-long splitter is proposed to achieve extinction ratio better than ? 20 dB and a bandwidthof 20 nm.  相似文献

Porous (Ce0.5Zr0.5)O2 solid solutions were prepared by thermolysis (T = 285 °C) or sonolysis (20 kHz, I = 32 W cm−2, Pac = 0.46 W mL−1, T = 200 °C) of Ce(III) and Zr(IV) acetylacetonates in oleylamine or hexadecylamine under argon followed by heat treatment of the precipitates obtained in air at 450 °C. Transmission Electron Microscopy images of the samples show nanoparticles of ca. 4–6 nm for the two synthetic approaches. The powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray and μ-Raman spectroscopy of solids obtained after heat treatment indicate the formation of (Ce0.5Zr0.5)O2 solid solutions with a metastable tetragonal crystal structure for the two synthetic routes. The specific surface area of the samples varies between 78 and 149 m2 g−1 depending on synthesis conditions. The use of Barrett–Joyner–Halenda and t-plot methods reveal the formation of mixed oxides with a hybrid morphology that combines mesoporosity and microporosity regardless of the method of preparation. Platinum nanoparticles were deposited on the surface of the mixed oxides by sonochemical reduction of Pt(IV). It was found that the materials prepared by sonochemistry exhibit better resistance to dissolution during the deposition process of platinum. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis shows the presence of Pt(0) and Pt(II) on the surface of mixed oxides. Porous (Ce0.5Zr0.5)O2 mixed oxides loaded with 1.5 %wt. platinum exhibit high activity in catalytic wet air oxidation of formic acid at 40 °C.  相似文献

Cadmium stannate thin films were prepared by spray pyrolysis technique using cadmium acetate and tin(II) chloride precursors at substrate temperatures 450 °C and 500 °C. XRD pattern confirms the formation of orthorhombic (1 1 1) cadmium stannate phase for the film prepared at substrate temperature of 500 °C, whereas, films prepared at 450 °C are amorphous. Film formation does not occur at substrate temperature from 300 to 375 °C. SEM images reveal that the surface of the prepared Cd2SnO4 film is smooth. The average optical transmittance of ∼86% is obtained for the film prepared at substrate temperature of 500 °C with the film thickness of 400 nm. The optical band gap value of the films varies from 2.7 to 2.94 eV. The film prepared at 500 °C shows a minimum resistivity of 35.6 × 10−4 Ω cm.  相似文献

The dependences of the incident angle and thermal durability of a tungsten silicide (WSi) wire-grid polarizer were examined. A WSi grating with a 0.5 fill factor, 260 nm depth, and 400 nm period was formed on a Si surface using two-beam interference and dry etching. The TM transmission spectrum of the fabricated element was greater than 60% at the incident angle of θ = 40° (the angle between the incident direction and the perpendicular axis to the grating direction) in the 4–10 μm wavelength range. An extinction ratio of 22.2 dB was achieved at 2.5 μm wavelength. Additionally, results show that this polarizer has higher thermal resistance than that of commercial infrared polarizers. Therefore, this polarizer is effective for taking a polarized thermal image of high temperatures.  相似文献

This paper presents a 94 GHz monolithic down-converter with low conversion loss and high local oscillator (LO)-to-RF isolation using the 0.1 μm T-gate metamorphic high electron-mobility transistor (MHEMT) technology. The down-converter consists of a one-stage amplifier and a single-balanced mixer based on the high-directivity tandem coupler structure using the air-bridge crossovers, thereby amplifying the RF signals and maximizing the LO-to-RF isolation by using an inherent S12 isolation characteristic of the amplifier and good phase balance of the tandem coupler. The fabricated one-stage amplifier using a 30 μm × 2 MHEMT shows a small signal gain of 7 dB at 94 GHz. The single-balanced mixer comprising two 20 μm × 2 MHEMT Schottky diodes and the tandem coupler with an additional λ/4-length line exhibits the conversion loss less than 7.8 dB and the LO-to-RF isolation higher than 30 dB in a RF frequency range of 91–96 GHz. Two circuits designed both for a 50 Ω impedance system are integrated into the down-converter of a 2.6 × 2.5 mm2 chip size, and it shows a low conversion loss of ∼1 dB at 94 GHz and excellent LO-to-RF isolation above 40 dB in a frequency range of 90–100 GHz. This is the best isolation among the W-band monolithic down-converters reported to date.  相似文献

This paper presents a miniaturized high performance high temperature superconducting (HTS) microwave receiver front-end subsystem, which uses a mini stirling cryocooler to cool a high selective HTS filter and a low noise amplifier (LNA). The HTS filter was miniaturized by using specially designed compact resonators and fabricating with double-sided YBCO films on LAO substrate which has a relatively high permittivity. The LNA was specially designed to work at cryogenic temperature with noise figure of 0.27 dB at 71 K. The mini cryocooler, which is widely used in infrared detectors, has a smaller size (60 mm × 80 mm × 100 mm) and a lighter weight (340 g) than the stirling cryocoolers commonly used in other HTS filter subsystem. The whole front-end subsystem, including a HTS filter, a LNA, a cryocooler and the vacuum chamber, has a size of only φ120 mm × 175 mm and a weight of only 3.3 kg. The microwave devices inside the subsystem are working at 71.8 K with a consumed cooling power of 0.325 W. The center frequency of this subsystem is 925.2 MHz and the bandwidth is 2.7 MHz (which is a fractional bandwidth of 0.2%), with the gain of 19.75 dB at center frequency and the return loss better than ?18.11 dB in the pass band. The stop band rejection is more than 60 dB and the skirt slope is exceeding 120 dB MHz?1. The noise figure of this subsystem is less than 0.8 dB. This front-end subsystem can be used in radars and communication systems conveniently due to it’s compact size and light weight.  相似文献

We demonstrate room-temperature operation of broad-area edge-emitting photonic-crystal distributed-feedback quantum cascade lasers at λ  4.6 μm. The lasers use a weak-index perturbed third-order photonic-crystal lattice to control the optical mode in the wafer plane. Utilizing this coupling mechanism, the near-diffraction-limited beam quality with a far-field profile normal to the facet can be obtained. Single-mode operation with a signal-to-noise ratio of about 20 dB is achieved in the temperature range of 85–290 K. The single-facet output power is above 1 W for a 55 μm × 2.5 mm laser bar at 85 K in pulsed mode.  相似文献

A novel kind of polarization splitter in dual-core elliptical holes hybrid photonic crystal fiber is proposed. Numerical results show that the splitter can reach small coupling length ratio of 0.5, for wavelength from 1.15 μm to 1.9 μm. At wavelength 1.55 μm, the extinction ratio can achieve ?64 dB and the 1.92-mm-long splitter is suggested to achieve extinction ratio better than ?10 dB, a bandwidth of 150 nm. The fiber has small coupling length ratio, small coupling length and high extinction ratio and it is more suitable for fabricating polarization splitter.  相似文献

The substrate reactions of three common oxygen sources for gate oxide deposition on the group III rich InAs(0 0 1)-(4 × 2)/c(8 × 2) surface are compared: water, hydrogen peroxide (HOOH), and isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Scanning tunneling microscopy reveals that surface atom displacement occurs in all cases, but via different mechanisms for each oxygen precursor. The reactions are examined as a function of post-deposition annealing temperature. Water reaction shows displacement of surface As atoms, but it does not fully oxidize the As; the reaction is reversed by high temperature (450 °C) annealing. Exposure to IPA and subsequent low-temperature annealing (100 °C) show the preferential reaction on the row features of InAs(0 0 1)-(4 × 2)/c(8 × 2), but higher temperature anneals result in permanent surface atom displacement/etching. Etching of the substrate is observed with HOOH exposure for all annealing temperatures. While nearly all oxidation reactions on group IV semiconductors are irreversible, the group III rich surface of InAs(0 0 1) shows that oxidation displacement reactions can be reversible at low temperature, thereby providing a mechanism of self-healing during oxidation reactions.  相似文献

The adsorption of carbon monoxide on the Pt{110} surface at coverages of 0.5 ML and 1.0 ML was investigated using quantitative low-energy electron diffraction (LEED IV) and density-functional theory (DFT). At 0.5 ML CO lifts the reconstruction of the clean surface but does not form an ordered overlayer. At the saturation coverage, 1.0 ML, a well-ordered p(2 × 1) superstructure with glide line symmetry is formed. It was confirmed that the CO molecules adsorb on top of the Pt atoms in the top-most substrate layer with the molecular axes tilted by ± 22° with respect to the surface normal in alternating directions away from the close packed rows of Pt atoms. This is accompanied by significant lateral shifts of 0.55 Å away from the atop sites in the same direction as the tilt. The top-most substrate layer relaxes inwards by ? 4% with respect to the bulk-terminated atom positions, while the consecutive layers only show minor relaxations. Despite the lack of long-range order in the 0.5 ML CO layer it was possible to determine key structural parameters by LEED IV using only the intensities of the integer-order spots. At this coverage CO also adsorbs on atop sites with the molecular axis closer to the surface normal (< 10°). The average substrate relaxations in each layer are similar for both coverages and consistent with DFT calculations performed for a variety of ordered structures with coverages of 1.0 ML and 0.5 ML.  相似文献
