Joint data detection and channel estimation for OFDM systems   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
We develop new blind and semi-blind data detectors and channel estimators for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Our data detectors require minimizing a complex, integer quadratic form in the data vector. The semi-blind detector uses both channel correlation and noise variance. The quadratic for the blind detector suffers from rank deficiency; for this, we give a low-complexity solution. Avoiding a computationally prohibitive exhaustive search, we solve our data detectors using sphere decoding (SD) and V-BLAST and provide simple adaptations of the SD algorithm. We consider how the blind detector performs under mismatch, generalize the basic data detectors to nonunitary constellations, and extend them to systems with pilots and virtual carriers. Simulations show that our data detectors perform well.  相似文献

The orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing access technique has been attracting considerable interest especially for wireless local area networks (WLANs). We consider the joint estimation of the symbol timing, the channel length and the channel-impulse response. A novel estimation algorithm based on maximum-likelihood principles and the generalized Akaike information criterion are proposed. 利用周期伪随机(PN)序列频域能量集中在某些点上的特点,提出一种基于数据拟合的时变信道估计算法.该方法利用周期性PN序列的自相关特性,降低噪声和未知数据对导频的干扰;同时利用其周期性,实现对信道变化趋势的多点拟合;并在此基础卜利用信道时间平均值对估讣参数进行修正,以进一步提高估计精确性.仿真结果表明:与传统方法相比,该方法具有较优的误码率(BER)和均方误差(MSE)性能,尤其在低信噪比环境下性能改善显著.  相似文献

The paper considers joint channel estimation and data sequence detection for multipath radio channels with multiple antennas at the transmitter and/or receiver. An iterative space-time receiver based on the expectation-maximization algorithm is proposed. We examine the performance of this receiver for transmit diversity and space-time coding methods over Rayleigh fading channels. Simulation results show that the receiver can often achieve near-coherent performance with modest complexity and using very few pilot symbols.  相似文献

针对OFDM系统中难以实时获取时变信道统计信息的问题,提出了一种基于期望最大化(EM, expectation maximization)迭代的多符号联合信道估计和数据检测算法。为了获取合适的迭代初始值,利用梳状导频的信息,设计了基于最小二乘算法的低复杂度的初始化方案。通过分析算法中的信道统计量与信噪比的关系,提出了忽略信道自相关矩阵的简化算法,避免了获取信道统计信息的操作。仿真结果表明,提出的算法对信道的功率延迟分布和多普勒功率谱等统计信息不敏感,在未知信道多普勒功率谱的条件下,仍然具有较低的估计误差和误码率。   相似文献

Aiming at the impulsive noise occurring in OFDM systems,an impulsive noise mitigation algorithm based on compressed sensing theory was proposed.The proposed algorithm firstly treated the channel impulse response and the impulsive noise as a joint sparse vector by exploiting the sparsity of both them.Then the sparse Bayesian learning framework was adopted to jointly estimate the channel impulse response,the impulsive noise and the data symbols,in which the data symbols were regarded as unknown parameters.Compared with the existing impulsive noise mitigation methods,the proposed algorithm not only utilized all subcarriers but also did not use any a priori information of the channel and impulsive noise.The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieves significant improvement on the channel estimation and bit error rate performance.  相似文献

A simplified parametric channel estimation approach was proposed for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Based on parametric channel model, this algorithm is composed of two parts: the estimation of channel parameters and channel interpolation. The exponentially embedded family (EEF) criterion is exploited to determine the number of channel paths as well as the multipath time delays. Consequently, the channel frequency responses is acquired via the estimated parameters. Additionally, the authors' scheme is computationally efficient owing to the needless of the eigenvalue decomposition or the estimation of signal parameters by the rotational invariance technique (ESPRIT). Simulations are provided to validate the performance of this algorithm from perspectives of the probability of correct estimation and the mean square error (MSE). It is demonstrated that this approach exhibits a superior performance over the existing algorithms.  相似文献

A joint data detection and channel estimation scheme is proposed for cooperative communications in cluster‐based networks. In the proposed approach, each relay detects the source information using its joint detection and estimation rules and then compresses this information and forwards it to the destination node. The source information received from all the relays in the network is combined at the destination node in accordance with a fusion decision rule in order to determine the corresponding symbol vector. The joint detection and estimation rule at the relays and the fusion rule at the destination node are both processed using an expectation maximization algorithm. In order to reliably avoid poor local maxima, we utilized one pilot symbol per signal block to obtain a better initial starting point for the expectation maximization algorithm. The simulation results show that the feedback mechanism accelerates the convergence of the local channel estimates toward the Cramer–Rao lower bound. 频率偏移导致用于叠加训练序列系统中的一阶信道估计方法失效.文中提出一种利用叠加训练序列进行OFDM系统的联合频偏和信道估计的方案.在简单介绍所建立的OFDM系统后,文中利用训练序列的周期性推导出频偏特征向量,并根据阵列信号求子空间的原理,利用接收信号矩阵的奇异值分解求出上述向量所在的线性子空间,通过相关匹配求出频率偏移,最后获得时域信道参数.理论分析表明频偏估计范围反比于训练序列周期,因此算法具有估计范围大的优点,且适用于所有叠加周期训练序列系统.仿真分析表明了算法的有效性.  相似文献

对OFDM(orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing)系统中由于时频双选信道产生的载波间干扰进行了分析,并在此基础上提出了一种新的OFDM导频符号结构及信道估计方法,从而实现了在一个OFDM符号内时域信道估计和干扰抵消。仿真结果表明:提出的信道估计与干扰抵消相结合的联合算法不仅可以给出精度较高的信道信息,而且可以明显提高系统的性能。  相似文献

针对OFDM系统中信号限幅滤波造成的信道估计性能下降,提出了一种基于梳状导频的迭代估计算法。该算法迭代估计信号中的非线性噪声,并据此补偿信号的非线性失真,提高信道再估计的性能。推导出了该算法在限幅预畸变系统中所能达到的理论均方误差下限,同时给出了初始信道估计的理论均方误差。仿真表明,该算法克服了由限幅滤波造成的性能瓶颈,且收敛速度快。与文献迭代信道估计算法相比,具有更强的抵抗峰均比抑制的能力。  相似文献

This paper addresses a computationally compact and statistically optimal joint Maximum a Posteriori (MAP) algorithm for channel estimation and data detection in the presence of Phase Noise (PHN) in iterative Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) receivers used for high speed and high spectral efficient wireless communication systems. The MAP cost function for joint estimation and detection is derived and optimized further with the proposed cyclic gradient descent optimization algorithm. The proposed joint estimation and detection algorithm relaxes the restriction of small PHN assumptions and utilizes the prior statistical knowledge of PHN spectral components to produce a statistically optimal solution. The frequency-domain estimation of Channel Transfer Function (CTF) in frequency selective fading makes the method simpler, compared with the estimation of Channel Impulse Response (CIR) in the time domain. Two different time-varying PHN models, produced by Free Running Oscillator (FRO) and Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) oscillator, are presented and compared for performance difference with proposed OFDM receiver. Simulation results for joint MAP channel estimation are compared with Cramer-Rao Lower Bound (CRLB), and the simulation results for joint MAP data detection are compared with “NO PHN” performance to demonstrate that the proposed joint MAP estimation and detection algorithm achieve near-optimum performance even under multipath channel fading.  相似文献

Novel blind channel estimators based on the finite alphabet property of information symbols are derived in this paper for OFDM and related multicarrier code-division multiple access (MC-CDMA) systems. The resulting algorithms are applicable not only to standard OFDM transmitters with cyclic prefix, but also to the zero padded OFDM transmissions that improve symbol recovery at the expense of altering the transmitter and complicating the equalizer. Based on FFT-processed received data, channel identifiability is guaranteed regardless of channel zero locations and various channel estimation algorithms become available by trading on the complexity for performance. Unlike existing blind channel estimators, the proposed alternatives require short data records especially for PSK transmissions. The inherent scalar ambiguity is easily resolved because it has unit amplitude and phase values drawn from a finite set. Decoupling channel from symbol estimation enables a phase-directed operation that improves upon decision-directed schemes that are known to suffer from error propagation. Practical issues are also addressed including the presence of frequency guard intervals, constellation and power loading, various frame designs, coded transmissions as well as semi-blind and online implementations for systems with training sequences. The algorithms are tested with simulations and also compared with existing alternatives in a realistic HIPERLAN/2 setting  相似文献
