Summary Let (,, P) be a measurable space, and { t} be a filtration on (,). Then, given a fixed honest timeL a new filtrationG t} is defined, the smallest containing { t} and for whichL is a stopping time, and the martingales, semimartingales and stopping times of this new filtration are characterised.  相似文献

Summary Forf ( C n() and 0 t x letJ n (f, t, x) = (–1)n f(–x)f (n)(t) +f(x)f (n) (–t). We prove that the only real-analytic functions satisfyingJ n (f, t, x) 0 for alln = 0, 1, 2, are the exponential functionsf(x) = c e x,c, . Further we present a nontrivial class of real-analytic functions satisfying the inequalitiesJ 0 (f, x, x) 0 and 0 x (x – t)n – 1Jn(f, t, x)dt 0 (n 1).  相似文献

We consider the null controllability problem for the semilinear heat equation with nonlinearities involving gradient terms in an unbounded domain of N with Dirichlet boundary conditions. The control is assumed to be distributed along a subdomain such that the uncontrolled region \ is bounded. Using Carleman inequalities, we prove first the null controllability of the linearized equation. Then, by a fixed-point method, we obtain the main result for the semilinear case. This result asserts that, when the nonlinearity is C1 and globally Lipschitz, the system is null controllable.  相似文献

LetX, Y be finite sets and suppose thatF is a collection of pairs of sets (F, G),FX,GY satisfying |FF|s, |GG|t and |FF|+|GG|s+t+1 for all (F, G),F, GF. Extending a result of Sali, we determine the maximum ofF.  相似文献

Summary We consider the problem of comparing large finite and infinite systems with locally interacting components, and present a general comparison scheme for the case when the infinite system is nonergodic. We show that this scheme holds for some specific models. One of these is critical branching random walk onZ d . Let t denote this system, and let t N denote a finite version of t defined on the torus [–N,N] d Z d . Ford3 we prove that for stationary, shift ergodic initial measures with density , that ifT(N) andT(N)/(2N+1)d s[0,] asN, then {v }, 0 is the set of extremal invariant measures for the infinite system t andQ s is the transition function of Feller's branching diffusion. We prove several extensions and refinements of this result. The other systems we consider are the voter model and the contact process.Work supported in part by the National Science Foundation under Grant DMS-8802055, by the U.S. Army Research Office through the Mathematical Sciences Institute at Cornell University and by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft through the SFB 123 at the Universität Heidelberg  相似文献

We study the class of bounded C 0-semigroups T=(T t ) t0 on a Banach space X satisfying the asymptotic finite dimensionality condition: codim X 0(T)<, where X 0(T):={x X:limt T t x=0}. We prove a theorem which provides some necessary and sufficient conditions for asymptotic finite dimensionality.  相似文献

Summary This paper is concerned with the rate of convergence to zero of theL pmetrics np1p, constructed out of differences between distribution functions, for departure from normality for normed sums of independent and identically distributed random variables with zero mean and unit variance. It is shown that the np are, under broad conditions, asymptotically equivalent in the strong sense that, for 1p, p, np/np is universally bounded away from zero and infinity asn.  相似文献

We establish sufficient conditions for the reducibility of a nonlinear system of difference equationsx(t+1)=x(t)++P(x(t),t+ to a system y(t+1)= y(t)+, wherex, , m and the infinite-dimensional vector function P(x(t),t) is 2p-periodic inx i i=1,2,...) and almost periodic int with a frequency basis.Translated from Ukrainskii Matematicheskii Zhurnal, Vol. 46, No. 9, pp. 1216–1223, September, 1994.  相似文献

Continuing the research of part I conditions equivalent to ()- or ()-nuclearity of spaces of ultradifferential functions and their duals as well as some applications are given. To get these results it is shown that tensor products of smooth sequence spaces, power series spaces, and spaces S(Mq) introduced in part I are isomorphic to suitable sequence spaces of the same class, which are stable provided the factors are stable power series spaces. Hence it is possible to establish isomorphisms between different functions spaces, to calculate the nuclearity types of tensor products by the nuclearity types of the factors, and to prove that the class of ()- or ()-nuclear spaces is closed under forming tensor products iff is multiplicatively stable.  相似文献

Summary A stop time S in the boson Fock space over L 2()+ is a spectral measure in [0,] such that {S([0,t])} is an adapted process. Following the ideas of Hudson [6], to each stop time S a canonical shift operator U Sis constructed in . When S({}) has the vacuum as a null vector U Sbecomes an isometry. When S({})=0 it is shown that admits a factorisation S]{S where {S is the range of U Sand S] is a suitable subspace of called the Fock space upto time S. This, in particular, implies the strong Markov property of quantum Brownian motion in the boson as well as fermion sense and the Dynkin-Hunt property that the classical Brownian motion begins afresh at each stop time. The stopped Weyl and fermion processes are defined and their properties studied. A composition operation is introduced in the space of stop time to make it a semigroup. Stop time integrals are introduced and their properties constitute the basic tools for the subject.  相似文献

A family of sequences has the Ramsey property if for every positive integerk, there exists a least positive integerf (k) such that for every 2-coloring of {1,2, ...,f (k)} there is a monochromatick-term member of . For fixed integersm > 1 and 0 q < m, let q(m) be the collection of those increasing sequences of positive integers {x 1,..., xk} such thatx i+1 – xi q(modm) for 1 i k – 1. Fort a fixed positive integer, denote byA t the collection of those arithmetic progressions having constant differencet. Landman and Long showed that for allm 2 and 1 q < m, q(m) does not have the Ramsey property, while q(m) A m does. We extend these results to various finite unions of q(m) 's andA t 's. We show that for allm 2, q=1 m–1 q(m) does not have the Ramsey property. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for collections of the form q(m) ( t T A t) to have the Ramsey property. We determine when collections of the form a(m1) b(m2) have the Ramsey property. We extend this to the study of arbitrary finite unions of q(m)'s. In all cases considered for which has the Ramsey property, upper bounds are given forf .  相似文献

We establish sufficient conditions for a nonlinear system of difference equations x(t + 1) =x(t) + + P(x(t),t)+ to be reducible to the system y(t + 1) =y(t) + . Summary We give a necessary and sufficient condition for the convergence in law of simple point processes on +, for Skorokhod topology, in terms of their predictable compensatorsA n andA. The assumptions are thatA t() is continuous in (,t) and meets some mild integrability condition. The condition is thatA n converges weakly toA in a suitable sense.  相似文献

For a bounded regular Jordan domain in R 2, we introduce and study a new class of functions K() related on its Green function G. We exploit the properties of this class to prove the existence and the uniqueness of a positive solution for the singular nonlinear elliptic equation u+(x,u)=0, in D(), with u=0 on and uC(), where is a nonnegative Borel measurable function in ×(0,) that belongs to a convex cone which contains, in particular, all functions (x,t)=q(x)t ,>0 with nonnegative functions qK(). Some estimates on the solution are also given.  相似文献

Analysis is presented for the heat transfer performance of square ducts with internal fins from each wall in the case of combined free and forced convection by fully developed laminar flow. Numerical results are obtained for the Nusselt number and the pressure drop parameter for various values of finlengths and heat source parameter. For various values of Rayleigh numbers, the Nusselt number increases with the increase in finlength and decreases with the increase in heat source parameter.

We fix a rich probability space (,F,P). Let (H,) be a separable Hilbert space and let be the canonical cylindrical Gaussian measure on H. Given any abstract Wiener space (H,B,) over H, and for every Hilbert–Schmidt operator T: HBH which is (|{}|,)-continuous, where |{}| stands for the (Gross-measurable) norm on B, we construct an Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process : (,F,P)×[0,1](B,|{}|) as a pathwise solution of the following infinite-dimensional Langevin equation d t =db t +T( t )dt with the initial data 0=0, where b is a B-valued Brownian motion based on the abstract Wiener space (H,B,). The richness of the probability space (,F,P) then implies the following consequences: the probability space is independent of the abstract Wiener space (H,B,) (in the sense that (,F,P) does not depend on the choice of the Gross-measurable norm |{}|) and the space C B consisting of all continuous B-valued functions on [0,1] is identical with the set of all paths of . Finally, we present a way to obtain pathwise continuous solutions :d t =
db t + t dt with initial data 0=0, where ,R,0 and 0<.  相似文献

Summary SupposeZ(·) is a two-dimensional Brownian motion. It is shown that a.s. there existt 0 and >0 such thatZ(t 0) is an extremal point of the convex hull of {Z(t)|t 0–tt0} and also an extremal point of the convex hull of {Z(t)|t 0tt0+} and, moreover, the tangent lines to the convex hulls atZ(t 0) form a non-zero angle.The result is related to the following unsolved problem of S.J. Taylor. Do there exist a.s.t 0 and >0 such that the intersection of the convex hulls of {Z(t)|t 0–tt0} and {Z(t)|t 0tt0+} contains onlyZ(t 0)?This research was partially supported by Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (No. 400101540202), Ministry of Education, Science and Culture  相似文献

The proximity is investigated of the solution of Cauchy's problem for the equation u t +((u))x= u xx ((u) > 0) to the solution of Cauchy's problem for the equation ut+ ((u))x= 0, when the solution of the latter problem has a finite number of lines of discontinuity in the strip 0 t T. It is proved that, everywhere outside a fixed neighborhood of the lines of discontinuity, we have |u–u| C, where the constant C is independent of. Similar inequalities are derived for the first derivatives of u–u.Translated from Matematicheskie Zametki, Vol. 8, No. 3, pp. 309–320, September, 1970.In conclusion we express our gratitude to L. A.
