Flow visualization was used to investigate experimentally the evolution process from symmetrical shedding to staggered shedding of the starting vortex and the phenomenon of secondary separation on an elliptic cylinder at moderate Reynolds numbers. The vortex structure of the flow separation was studied. The temporal variation of separation angle and length of wake vortex were given. The photographs and experimental results provided basis for further investigation of the complicated feature of the starting process of unsteady separated flows around an elliptic cylinder. In the present paper the mechanism involved in vortex shedding flows is investigated in detail. In the early stage of the unsteady separated flow the interaction between secondary vortices and primary vortices is quite strong. In the later stage of the flow, corresponding to the vortex shedding the recirculating flow region on each side of the aft body goes through such a cycle: growth-contraction-growth, the secondary separation occurs periodically rather than continuously. The reduction of circulation is taken into account in three cases with different decay factors to study its influence on the prediction of main flow characteristics. Results show that to simulate vortex shedding flow it is necessary to include the reduction of circulation to bring the calculated results into good agreement with experiments. An improved discrete vortex model is suggested in which both the secondary separation and the reduction are incorporated. The processes of vortex shedding, the forces prediction and other flow characteristics are given and some discussions are made. 本文报告了用压力传感器测量方形柱体涡脱落的实验方法和结果。实验在大气边界层风洞进行。方柱的截面为正方形,高宽比为5。压力传感器在测试前经过严格的标定。测量结果表明,随着来源速度沿高度的变化,方柱的涡脱落频率也随高度而变,而且,在柱体端部附近,涡脱频率和St数发生明显的抑制。和二维柱体一样,在一定的Re数范围内,三维柱体的Ro数与Re数也存在一种线性关系。  相似文献

用数值模拟方法对固定圆柱湍流涡脱落频率与弹性圆柱湍流涡致振动频率特性进行了研究,湍流计算模型采用标准κ-ε模型,压力泊松方程提法基于非交错网格系统.研究结果表明:固定圆柱湍流绕流涡脱落频率基本不随雷诺数而变,对于同一固有频率弹性圆柱,涡振频率基本不随雷诺数而变;对于某一固定雷诺数流动涡振频率在一定范围内与系统固有频率有关.  相似文献

横向强迫振荡柱体尾流控制是柱体涡激振动控制的基础,在海洋、土木等工程中具有重要意义. 横向强迫振荡柱体尾流中存在一种锁频旋涡脱落模式,即在一个振荡周期内柱体上、下侧各脱落旋转方向相反的一对涡,称为2P模式. 本文将相对宽度b/D=0.32的窄条控制件置于横向强迫振荡柱体下游,对振幅比A/D=1.25, 无量纲振频f_e D/V_∞=0.22,雷诺数Re=1 200的2P模式旋涡脱落进行干扰,并通过改变控制件位置,研究旋涡的变化规律. 采用二维大涡模拟和实验验证方法进行研究,在控制件位置范围0.8≤X/D≤3.2, 0.4≤Y/D≤3.2内,得到了2P, 2S, P+S和另外6种新发现的旋涡脱落模式,并对各模式旋涡的形成过程作了详细描述. 在控制件位置平面上给出了各旋涡模式的存在区域,画出了旋涡脱落强度的等值线图,并发现在一个相当大的区域内,旋涡脱落强 度可减小一半以上,尾流变窄. 发现柱体大幅振荡引起的横向剪切流在旋涡生成中起关键作用. 探讨了控制件对横向剪切流的影响,分析了控制件在每种旋涡模式形成中的作用机制.   相似文献

It has been observed by researchers in the past that vortex shedding behind circular cylinders can be altered, and in some cases suppressed, over a limited range of Reynolds numbers by proper placement of a second, much smaller, ‘control’ cylinder in the near wake of the main cylinder. Results are presented for numerical computations of some such situations. A stabilized finite element method is employed to solve the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations in the primitive variables formulation. At low Reynolds numbers, for certain relative positions of the main and control cylinder, the vortex shedding from the main cylinder is completely suppressed. Excellent agreement is observed between the present computations and experimental findings of other researchers. In an effort to explain the mechanism of control of vortex shedding, the streamwise variation of the pressure coefficient close to the shear layer of the main cylinder is compared for various cases, with and without the control cylinder. In the cases where the vortex shedding is suppressed, it is observed that the control cylinder provides a local favorable pressure gradient in the wake region, thereby stabilizing the shear layer locally. Vortex shedding from short circular cylinders with a slit was studied using a flow visualization and amplitude spectrum analysis of a thermoanemometry probe signal. It was found that a circular cylinder with a slit and concave rear surface produces stronger vortices than other bluff cylinders but that these vortices are very vulnerable to the end wall conditions. It was established that two small splitter plates (tails) fixed directly behind the cylinder at the end walls effectively isolate the vortices shed from the cylinder from the end wall boundary layer effects. For this arrangement a perfect regularity of vortex shedding and almost constant Strouhal number were achieved in the Reynolds number test range of about 250 to 43,000.On a leave from Technical University, 60965 Poznan, Piotrowo 3, Poland.  相似文献

首先从涡脱落生成理论出发对钝体尾流控制方法进行了分类,并简单介绍了国内尾流控制研究情况. 之后介绍了我们用窄条或小方柱取代小圆柱后,对Strykowsky和Sreenivasan 控制方法的改进及其在高雷诺数下对圆柱和方柱尾流涡脱落的有效抑制情况, 并探讨了控制件钝度对抑制效果的影响.第3部分用实验数据对各个涡脱落生成模型做了分析与检验, 指出控制件方法的机理与改变钝体分离位置、减小钝体背压吸力、改变流动的展向相关性、 防止钝体两侧剪切层相互作用等无关,而与钝体近尾流速度剖面的局部修正及其稳定性的改变有关. 最后简单介绍了控制件方法今后研究工作展望及其工程应用前景.  相似文献

详细介绍了近几年采用尾部喷射、隔离板和小窄条控制件等3 种方法对流向振荡柱体绕流旋涡脱落的抑制情况. 在研究范围内存在非锁频和3种锁频旋涡脱落模式. 风洞实验表明, 尾部喷射对这4 种模式都有抑制效果,窄条控制件对非锁频和2种锁频模式具有抑制效果, 而隔离板仅对非锁频和1 种锁频模式有效. 在不同流动和振荡条件下找出了每种方法的有效控制区, 研究了减阻和减少脉动力的效果, 并探讨了控制机理.   相似文献

圆柱绕流涡脱落诱发较大的振动和声,如何有效地抑制值得关注.利用大涡模拟技术求解了Navier-Stokes方程,得到了涡脱落频率,升力脉动幅值及平均阻力系数.计算表明二维模拟不能体现流动基本特征,三维计算与实验吻合较好.为了抑制涡脱落,在直径为D的圆柱表面装入间距为1D,直径为0.0167D的O型环.通过升力、速度谱分析以及柱向横截面流场分析可知,在光滑圆柱外表面加入O型环能诱发流体边界层分离,有效地抑制涡脱落现象,升力脉动和观测点速度脉动幅值几乎完全消失,阻力系数也略微降低,适合在实际工程中采用.  相似文献
