π-Meson decay in an arbitrary plane wave electromagnetic field

In this work we study the leptonic-decay processes of a -meson in a field that is a superposition of a crossed field and the field of a plane electromagnetic wave. Expressions for the decay probability are obtained that take into account a non-zero neutrino mass. The dependence of the probabilities on the spin of the created lepton is investigated. The values of the parameters of the external field are indicated for which it is possible to isolate the decay process depending on the neutrino mass, which may be of interest for the solution of the problem of the existence of the neutrino mass.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 9, pp. 82–86, September, 1985.     

The aγγγ vertex and three-photon axion decay in an external magnetic field

The axion vertex aγγγ, the probability of three-photon axion decay in an external magnetic field, and the cross section of the crossing process aγ→2γ, which CP invariance forbids in vacuum, are calculated for the first time. It is shown that in superstrong magnetic fields B≫F ₀=m ²/|e|=4.41·10¹³ G the probability of three-photon decay is greater than the probability of two-photon decay. Hawking radiation in an electromagnetic waveguide?

It is demonstrated that the propagation of electromagnetic waves in an appropriately designed waveguide is (for large wavelengths) analogous to that within a curved space-time--such as around a black hole. As electromagnetic radiation (e.g., microwaves) can be controlled, amplified, and detected (with present-day technology) much easier than sound, for example, we propose a setup for the experimental verification of the Hawking effect. Apart from experimentally testing this striking prediction, this would facilitate the investigation of the trans-Planckian problem.     

Is the electromagnetic field an invariant superposition of the 42 states of a basic field?

It is shown that an invariant superposition of 42 symmetry-related states of a basic field can account for the experimental value of the fine-structure constant. Such a theory yields the formulac/e ²=N(N–1)/4=137.0324, withN=42 the order of the invariance group.     

b→cτ■ decay in supersymmetry with R-parity violation

In past years,several hints of lepton flavor universality(LFU)violation have emerged from the b→ct■,and b→sl~+l-data.More recently,the Belle Collaboration has reported the first measurement of the D* longitudinal polarization fraction in the B→D*τV decay.Motivated by this intriguing result,along with the recent measurements of RJ/Ψand τ polarization,we present the study of b→ct■ decays in supersymmetry(SUSY)with R-parity violation(RPV).We consider B→D(*)t■,Bc→ηct■,Bc→J/ψt■ and ∧b→∧ct■ modes and focus on the branching ratios,LFU ratios,forward-backward asymmetries,polarizations of daughter hadrons,and the τ lepton.The RPV SUSY was capable of explaining the RD(*) anomalies at the 2σ level,after taking into account various flavor constraints.In the allowed parameter space,the differential branching fractions and LFU ratios are largely enhanced by the SUSY effects,especially in the large dilepton invariant mass region.Moreover,a lower bound B(B~+→K~+vv)7.37×10~(-6) is obtained.These observables could provide testable signatures at the high-luminosity LHC and SuperKEKB,and correlate with direct searches for SUSY.

Radiative leptonic decay Bc^-→τ^vτ^-γ in the standard model and the two-Higgs-doublet model

We analyze the radiative leptonic Bc decay Bc^-→τ^vτ^-γ in the Standard Model and the two- Higgs-doublet model using the non-relativistic constituent quark model. The results confirm that this channel is experimentally promising in view of the large number of Bc mesons which are expected to be produced at future hadron facilities. We also find that this decay is sensitive to the parameters of the two-Higgs-doublet model, and it can be tested in future experiments.     

Radiation from relativistic electrons during entry into a magnetic field andβ decay in the field

This paper considers the radiation emitted when a nucleus experiences decay in a magnetic field, producing relativistic electrons. Probing magnetic moment operators in H_γ production and H→τ~+τ~-γ rare decay

The magnetic moment(a_γ) and weak magnetic moment(a_W) of charged leptons and quarks are sensitive to quantum effects of new physics heavy resonances.In effective field theory,a_γ and a_W are induced by two independent operators.Therefore,one has to measure both ay and aw to shed light on new physics.The aw's of the SM fermions are measured at the LEP.In this work,we analyze the contributions from magnetic and weak magnetic moment operators in the processes of pp→H_γ and gg→H→τ~+τ~-γ at the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider.We demonstrate that the two processes can cover most of the parameter space that cannot be probed at the LEP.     

τ− → π−π0ντ decay in the extended NJL model

The width of the decay τ^? → π^?π⁰ν_τ was calculated in the extended NJL model. Contact interaction of W boson with a pion pair as well as the contribution of the ρ mesons in the ground and first radialexcited states are taken into account. The sum of the contact diagram and diagram with intermediate ρ meson in the ground state leads to the result which coincides with the result of the vector-dominance model. Our results are in satisfactory agreement with experimental data.     

Maxwell-Schrödinger equations for a dilute gas Bose-Einstein condensate coupled to an electromagnetic field

We give a general formulation of the semiclassical approach to solving the problem of interaction between a Bose-Einstein condensate of dilute gas and electromagnetic radiation without using the commonly applied mean-field approximation. We suggest variants of the systems of Maxwell-Schrödinger equations whose solution describes such effects as superradiant light scattering, light beam amplification, atomic wave (atomic laser) amplification, induced transparency, and reduction in the group velocity of light.     

Transverse muon polarization in the K µ3 0 decay induced by electromagnetic final-state interaction

A calculation of transverse muon polarization in the K _μ3 ⁰ decay due to the electromagnetic interaction in a final state in one-loop approach is presented. Feynman propagator for an arbitrary half-integral spin

Based on the solution to Bargmann-Wigner equation for a particle with arbitrary half-integral spin, a direct derivation of the projection operator and propagator for a particle with arbitrary half-integral spin is worked out. The projection operator constructed by Behrends and Fronsdal is re-deduced and confirmed and simplified, the general commutation rules and Feynman propagator with additional non-covariant terms for a free particle with arbitrary half-inteRzal spin are derived, and explicit expressions for the propagators for spins 3/2, 5/2 and 7/2 are provided.     

Probabilistic teleportation of an arbitrary three-particle state

A scheme for teleporting an arbitrary and unknown three-particle state from a sender to either one of two receivers is proposed. The quantum channel is composed of a two-particle non-maximally entangled state and two three-particle non-maximally entangled W states. An arbitrary three-particle state can be perfectly teleported probabilistically if the sender performs three generalized Bell-state measurements and sends to the two receivers the classical result of these measurements, and either one of the two receivers adopts an appropriate unitary transformation conditioned on the suitable measurement outcomes of the other receiver. All kinds of unitary transformations are given in detail.     

Influence of strong magnetic field on β decay in the crusts of neutron stars

βdecay in the strong magnetic field of the crusts of neutron stars is analysed by an improved method. The reactions ⁶⁷ Ni(β^-)⁶⁷ Cu and ⁶² Mn\beta ^-62 Fe are investigated as examples. The results show that a weak magnetic field has little effect on βdecay but a strong magnetic field (B>10¹²G) increases β decay rates obviously. The conclusion derived may be crucial to the research of late evolution of neutron stars and nucleosynthesis in r-process.     

The experimental study of acoustic field in an asymmetric borehole

The acoustic field in an asymmetric borehole was investigated by recording and comparing the waveforms with different offset in both axial symmetric borehole and axial asymmetric borehole. The two-dimensional spectrum in wave-number and frequency domain was also calculated and compared with the result of numeric simulation with 2.5-D finite difference method, and a consistent result was obtained. This work provides an accurate verification of our investigation of asymmetric borehole with 2.5-D finite difference method.     

Teleportation of an arbitrary three—particle state

We propose two schemes for teleporting an arbitrary three-particle state.In the first scheme,a two-particle state and a three-particle entangled state (both non-maximally entangled states)are used as quantum channels,while in the second scheme,three non-mnaximally entangled particle pairs are employed as quantum channels.We show that teleportation can be successfully realized with certain probability if a receiver adopts some appropriate unitary transformations.Their success probabilities and the classical communication costs are different.     

How can the neutrino interact with the electromagnetic field?

Maxwell electrodynamics in the fixed Minkowski space-time background can be described in an equivalent way in a curved Riemannian geometry that depends on the electromagnetic field and that we call the electromagnetic metric(e-metric for short). After showing such geometric equivalence we investigate the possibility that new processes dependent on the e-metric are allowed. In particular, for very high values of the field, a direct coupling of uncharged particles to the electromagnetic field may appear.
