We examine common supercyclic vectors for a path of operators. In particular, we show that the path consisting of convex combinations of two arbitrary unilateral weighted backward shifts has a dense Gδ set of common supercyclic vectors. Moreover, we show there exists a path with a dense Gδ set of common supercyclic vectors between a unilateral weighted backward shift which satisfies the Supercyclicity Criterion, and an operator which does not. Lastly, we provide an example of a path of unilateral weighted backward shifts that fails to have a common supercyclic vector.  相似文献

By the well-known result of Brown, Chevreau and Pearcy, every Hilbert space contraction with spectrum containing the unit circle has a nontrivial closed invariant subspace. Equivalently, there is a nonzero vector which is not cyclic.

We show that each power bounded operator on a Hilbert space with spectral radius equal to one has a nonzero vector which is not supercyclic. Equivalently, the operator has a nontrivial closed invariant homogeneous subset. Moreover, the operator has a nontrivial closed invariant positive cone.

A minimal normal extension of unbounded subnormal operators is established and characterized and spectral inclusion theorem is proved. An inverse Cayley transform is constructed to obtain a closed unbounded subnormal operator from a bounded one. Two classes of unbounded subnormals viz analytic Toeplitz operators and Bergman operators are exhibited.  相似文献

In this study, approximation properties of the Mellin-type nonlinear integral operators defined on multivariate functions are investigated. In order to get more general results than the classical aspects, we mainly use the summability methods defined by Bell. Considering the Haar measure with variation semi-norm in Tonelli's sense, we approach to the functions of bounded variation. Similar results are also obtained for uniformly continuous and bounded functions. Using suitable function classes we investigate the rate of convergence in the approximation. Finally, we give a non-trivial application verifying our approach.  相似文献

We introduce and study in a general setting the concept of homogeneity of an operator and, in particular, the notion of homogeneity of an integral operator. In the latter case, homogeneous kernels of such operators are also studied. The concept of homogeneity is associated with transformations of a measure—measure dilations, which are most natural in the context of our general research scheme. For the study of integral operators, the notions of weak and strong homogeneity of the kernel are introduced. The weak case is proved to generate a homogeneous operator in the sense of our definition, while the stronger condition corresponds to the most relevant specific examples—classes of homogeneous integral operators on various metric spaces—and allows us to obtain an explicit general form for the kernels of such operators. The examples given in the article—various specific cases—illustrate general statements and results given in the paper and at the same time are of interest in their own way.  相似文献

In this paper, the stability properties, the endpoint behavior and the invertible relations of Cauchy-type singular integral operators over an open curve are discussed. If the endpoints of the curve are not special, this type of operators are proved to be stable. At the endpoints, either the singularity or smoothness of the operators are exactly described. And the function sets or spaces on which the operators are invertible as well as the corresponding inverted operators are given. Meanwhile, some applications for the solution of Cauchy-type singular integral equations are illustrated. Several classes have been considered to study the weak subnormalities of Hilbert space operators. One of them is -hypnormality, which comes from the Bram-Halmos criterion for subnormal operators. In this note we consider -hyponormality, which is the parallel version corresponding to the Embry characterization for subnormal operators. We characterize -hyponormality of composition operators via -th Radon-Nikodym derivatives and present some examples to distinguish the classes.

Criteria for the existence of lifts of operators intertwining subnormal operators are established. The main result of the paper reduces lifting questions for general subnormal operators to questions about lifts of cyclic subnormal operators. It is shown that in general the existence of local lifts (i.e. those coming from cyclic parts) for a pair of subnormal operators does not imply the existence of a global lift. However this is the case when minimal normal extensions of subnormal operators in question are star-cyclic.

In this paper, we examine a class of averaging operators which exhibit local smoothing. That is, viewed as a function of space and time variables, the operators yield more smoothing than the fixed-time estimates. Sogge showed in a more general setting that if these operators satisfy a cinematic curvature condition, they will exhibit some local smoothing [C.D. Sogge, Propagation of singularities and maximal functions in the plane, Invent. Math. 104 (1991) 231-251]. Here we translate this condition into the setting of averaging operators in the plane. We prove that cinematic curvature is not necessary for local smoothing to occur, exhibiting a class of operators which fail the cinematic curvature condition but still satisfy a local smoothing estimate. Furthermore, the amount of local smoothing exhibited by these operators is strictly less than that conjectured for operators satisfying the cinematic curvature condition.  相似文献

This paper characterizes sequences of vectors that are the orbits of a linear operator and sequences of vectors in a Hilbert space that are orbits of a unitary operator. The latter is applied to time series. Sequences of vectors in a Hilbert space that generalize random walks are also shown to be the orbits of a bounded linear operator.  相似文献

We show that each power bounded operator with spectral radius equal to one on a reflexive Banach space has a nonzero vector which is not supercyclic. Equivalently, the operator has a nontrivial closed invariant homogeneous subset. Moreover, the operator has a nontrivial closed invariant cone if belongs to its spectrum. This generalizes the corresponding results for Hilbert space operators.

For non-reflexive Banach spaces these results remain true; however, the non-supercyclic vector (invariant cone, respectively) relates to the adjoint of the operator.
