Some conditions on the size of the exceptional set that arise in Nevanlinna's Second Fundamental Theorem are established, showing that previous sharp results can be improved by restricting the class of functions considered and suggesting a close relationship between the size of the exceptional set and the lower growth of the characteristic function. Examples of functions of rapid growth possessing exceptional sets are built, showing that these conditions are sharp for the class of functions considered.  相似文献

In this note we consider a one-parameter family of Cantor-sets with overlapping cylinders. For a set of zero measure of parameters (exceptional set) the dimension of the attractor drops as a result of the intersection between the cylinders. A simple but rigorous proof of the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus is given in geometric calculus, after the basis for this theory in geometric algebra has been laid out. Various classical examples of this theorem, such as the Green’s and Stokes’ theorem are discussed, as well as the theory of monogenic functions which generalizes analytic functions of a complex variable to higher dimensions.  相似文献

Theorems 2 and 3 establish the minimum algebraic conditions necessary for a field to be algebraically closed, and they can therefore be said to “optimize” the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra. We prove that the set of exceptional \({\lambda\in (1/2,1)}\) such that the associated Bernoulli convolution is singular has zero Hausdorff dimension, and likewise for biased Bernoulli convolutions, with the exceptional set independent of the bias. This improves previous results by Erdös, Kahane, Solomyak, Peres and Schlag, and Hochman. A theorem of this kind is also obtained for convolutions of homogeneous self-similar measures. The proofs are very short, and rely on old and new results on the dimensions of self-similar measures and their convolutions, and the decay of their Fourier transform.  相似文献
