Based on the truncated second-order moments method on the cylindrical coordinate systems and the incomplete gamma function, an analytical expression of the generalized beam propagation factor (MG2 factor) of hard-edged circular apertured diffracted Bessel–Gaussian beams is derived and illustrated numerically. It is shown that the MG2 factor of hard-edged diffracted BGBs mainly depends on the truncation parameter δ and the beam parameters m and η. The results can be reduced to that for the non-truncated Bessel–Gaussian beams case and that for the truncated fundamental Gaussian beams case under certain conditions, respectively. The power fraction is also discussed analytically and numerically.  相似文献

Starting from the propagation law of partially coherent light, the analytical propagation equations of partially coherent modified Bessel–Gauss beams (MBGBs) through a paraxial optical ABCD system are derived and illustrated with typical application examples. Furthermore, by using the intensity moments method and integral transformation technique, the important characteristic parameters, including the beam width, far-field divergence angle, M2 factor and kurtosis parameter of partially coherent MBGBs, are expressed in a closed and simple form. As a result, some basic properties of MBGBs and the dependence of the M2 factor and kurtosis parameter on the spectral degree of coherence and beam order are illustrated both analytically and numerically.  相似文献

An analytical expression for arbitrary moments of the cosh-Gaussian–Shell beam in turbulent atmosphere is derived. As a special case, kurtosis parameters of collimated and focused cosh-Gaussian beam with and without turbulent atmosphere are studied in detail. It can be seen from the study that the kurtosis parameters of Gaussian beam do not remain constant in turbulent atmosphere. Similar to the kurtosis parameters of a cosh-Gaussian beam at source plane, the kurtosis parameters at focal plane without turbulent atmosphere are independent of the propagation distance and vary with the parameters of the beam. But the variation of the kurtosis parameters at focal plane is different from that at source plane. However, the kurtosis parameters of collimated and focused cosh-Gaussian beam both vary with the propagation distance and gradually converge to 3 along the z-axis in turbulent atmosphere. Compared with a collimated beam, the kurtosis parameters of a focused beam converge more quickly.  相似文献

The far-field properties and beam quality of vectorial nonparaxial Hermite–Laguerre–Gaussian (HLG) beams are studied in detail, where, instead of the second-order-moments-based M2 factor, the extended power in the bucket (PIB) and βparameter are used to characterize the beam quality in the far field and the intensity in the formulae is replaced by the z component of the time-averaged Poynting vector Sz. It is found that the Sz PIB and βparameter of vectorial nonparaxial HLG beams depend on the mode indices n, m, αparameter and waist-width-to-wavelength ratio w0/λ and the PIB and βparameter are additionally dependent on the bucket's size taken.  相似文献

Based on the second-order moments, the beam propagation factors and the kurtosis parameters of a Lorentz beam have been investigated. The M2 value of a Lorentz beam is verified to be . The analytical expressions of the kurtosis parameters have been derived. The kurtosis parameter varies upon the propagation, and it is decided by two ratios z/zrx and z/zry. The kurtosis parameter versus the two ratios z/zrx and z/zry is plotted and discussed in detail. This work is of benefit to the practical application of laser sources that produce highly divergent beams.  相似文献

Based on the extended Huygens–Fresnel principle, the closed-form propagation equation of partially coherent Sinh-Gaussian (ShG) beams through the turbulent atmosphere has been derived by using the quadratic approximation of the Rytov's phase structure function. The influence of turbulence on propagation properties of partially coherent ShG beams and their beam quality in the far field are studied both analytically and numerical. The fully coherent ShG beam has been treated as a special case of the partially coherent ShG beam when the degree of spatial coherence α=∞. It is shown that in comparison with the free-space propagation the turbulence accelerates the evolution of three stages that partially coherent ShG beams undergo. The smaller α is, the less partially coherent ShG beams are affected by the turbulence. In particular, we find that the β parameter decreases as the decentered parameter δ increases, but the dependence of the Strehl ratio on δ is not monotonous. There exists an optimal δopt, the influence of turbulence on the maximum intensity of the corresponding partially coherent ShG beam with δopt is the smallest. Therefore, a suitable choice of δ may reduce the influence of turbulence on the beam quality in the far field in practice.  相似文献

On the basis of the second-order moment of the power density and in the use of the series expansion, the expressions for the beam width, far-field divergence angle and M2 factor of nonparaxial Hermite–Gaussian (H–G) beams are derived and expressed in a sum of the series of the Gamma function. The theoretical results are illustrated with numerical examples. The M2 factor of nonparaxial H–G beams depends not only on the beam order m, but also on the waist-width to wavelength ratio w0/λ. The far-field divergence angles of nonparaxial H–G beams with even and odd orders approach their upper limits θmax=63.435 and 73.898, respectively, which results in M2<1 as w0/λ→0. For the special case of m=0 our results reduce to those of nonparaxial Gaussian beams. Some problems related to the characterization of the nonparaxial beam quality are also discussed.  相似文献

The irradiance-moments characterization of off-axis Gaussian beam combinations is presented in use of the Wigner distribution function (WDF). Analytical expressions for the propagation through an optical paraxial ABCD system, beam propagation factor (M2 factor), beam width, far field divergence angle and kurtosis parameter of the resultant beam are derived and illustrated with specific numerical examples. It is reexamined that a flat-topped irradiance profile of the resultant beam can be achieved at a certain plane by appropriately choosing beamlet parameters. As compared with previous work, our results show the advantage of using the WDF and irradiance-moments methods.  相似文献

On the basis of the propagation equation of truncated standard and elegant Laguerre–Gaussian beams, the closed-form propagation expressions for the kurtosis parameter K of standard and elegant Laguerre–Gaussian beams passing through apertured optical systems are derived, it is shown that the kutosis parameter K of standard and elegant Laguerre–Gaussian beams depend on order p and index m of Laguerre polynomial, the beam-truncated parameter δ and the generalized Fresnel number F. Propagation properties of higher-order cosh-Gaussian (HOCG) beams in uniaxial crystals orthogonal to the optical axis are studied. Analytical formulae for electric fields and kurtosis parameters are derived. Results show that a HOCG beam with larger acentric parameters or beam orders would better preserve its intensity profile when it propagates in uniaxial crystals. At arbitrary propagation distance flat-topped beams can be shaped by selecting appropriate acentric parameters. It is also indicated that kurtosis parameters τx and τy both increase when acentric parameters take larger values, however, they show different behaviors due to effects of anisotropic crystals.  相似文献

The effects of axicons on the M2 factor and kurtosis parameter of super Gaussian beams(SGBs) are studied in detail. The closed-form expression for the M2 factor of SGBs after passing through an axicon is derived, and the reason why the convergent and divergent axicons give rise to the same increase of the M2 factor is explained physically from the similarity of the resulting irradiance distributions. The analytical propagation equation of the K parameter of SGBs passing through an axicon followed by a paraxial optical ABCD system is given, some interesting special cases are discussed. In particular, it is found that even for the Gaussian special case theK parameter is no longer a constant due to the effect of the axicon. Numerical examples are also given to illustrate our analytical results.  相似文献

An analysis of data on is presented at beam momenta 600 to 1940 MeV/c. There is evidence for an I=1, JPC=2−+ resonance in ηηπ0 with mass M=1880±20 MeV and width 255±45 MeV, decaying strongly to a2(1320)η; it is too strong to be explained as the high mass tail of π2(1670)→a2(1320)η. There is tentative evidence also for weak decays to f0(1500)π. It makes a natural partner to the η2(1860).  相似文献

The dependence of the beam propagation factor (M 2 parameter) with the absorbed pump power in the case of monolithic microchip laser under face-cooled configuration is extensively studied. Our investigations show that the M 2 parameter is related to the absorbed pump power through two parameters (α and β) whose values depend on the laser material properties and laser configuration. We have shown that one parameter arises due to the oscillation of higher order modes in the microchip cavity and the other parameter accounts for the spherical aberration associated with the thermal lens induced by the pump beam. Such dependency of M 2 parameter with the absorbed pump power is experimentally verified for a face-cooled monolithic microchip laser based on Nd3+ -doped GdVO4 crystal and the values of α and β parameters were estimated from the experimentally measured data points.  相似文献

It is shown that the M2 factor of nonparaxial truncated FG beams depends not only on the truncation parameter δ and beam order N, but also on the initial waist-width to wavelength ratio w0/λ. The far-field divergence angle approaches an asymptotic value of θmax=63.435° when the truncation parameter δ → 0. For the special cases of N = 0 and δ → ∞ our results reduce to those of nonparaxial truncated Gaussian beams and nonparaxial untruncated FG beams, respectively.  相似文献

The propagation behavior and M 2-factor of truncated cosh-Gaussian (ChG) beams are studied by using the asymptotic approach. Detailed numerical results are given to illustrate the dependence of M 2-factor on the beam decentered parameter , truncation fraction p and power fraction f. Our results are self-consistent and reduce to those of Pare and Belanger [Opt. Commun. 123, p. 679 (1996a); Proc. SPIE 2870, p. 104 (1996b)]. The advantage of the approach is shown, and the problems introduced by the hard-aperture diffraction and the approach used are discussed.  相似文献

The general forms in the kernel of D are closely related to conformal Killing vector fields, called conformal Killing p-forms, while those in kernel of d are called closed conformal Killing p-forms or, according to another terminology, planar p-forms. In particular an arbitrary planar 1-form ω is dual (by g) to the special concircular vector field ξ. We consider some local properties for the closed conformal Killing p-forms. As an application we present examples of decomposition into irreducible components for the electromagnetic field 2-form ω and its covariant derivative in four-dimensional space–time. In particular, we prove that the energy–momentum tensor T of the electromagnetic field is a symmetric conformal Killing tensor if the electromagnetic field 2-form ω is a conformal Killing form.  相似文献
