A combined dynamical and statistical approach to describing induced fission of heavy nuclei is proposed. This approach takes into account the nuclear-dissipation phenomenon and the double-humped structure of the fission barrier. A method that is intended for calculating the angular distribution of fission fragments and which is applicable over a broad range of excitation energies is discussed. The potential of the approach is demonstrated by addressing the problems of self-consistently describing experimental data on fission probabilities for plutonium and americium isotopes, the yields of shape isomers in the α+238U reaction at alpha-particle energies in the range E α = 20–32 MeV and the d+242,240Pu reactions at deuteron energies in the range E d = 20–30 MeV, fission times in the α + 238U reaction at alpha-particle energies in the range E α = 20–32 MeV, and angular distributions of fission fragments in the α + 238U, 237Np reactions at alpha-particle energies in the range E α = 20–100 MeV.  相似文献

A phenomenological estimate is derived such that the binding energies of dimesons are expressed as combinations of masses of different mesons and baryons. The estimate is almost model-independent, the only major assumptions being that the wave functions of the two light quarks in Λ c , Λ b and in the and dimesons are very similar, and that for heavy quarks the QQ interaction is half as strong as the interaction. We get (I = 0, J = 1) bound by about 100 MeV and unbound. Received July 4, 2000; revised November 28, 2000; accepted for publication February 5, 2001  相似文献

Double neutral pion photoproduction from the proton has been measured at MAMI for photon energies between threshold and 820 MeV. The reaction was identified by an invariant mass and missing mass analysis. From threshold up to 370 MeV the total cross-section does not exceed 30 nb. For higher energies it shows a smooth rise until it reaches a maximum of about 10 μb at E γ = 740 MeV. Dalitz plots of m 20π0) versus m 2(p0) for seven bins of incident photon energy have been analysed. For E γ > 610 MeV, a strong contribution of a sequential decay is observed with the Δ(1232)-resonance as intermediate state. A comparison to model calculations shows that these sequential decays presumably originate from the D 13(1520) and also the P 11(1440)-resonance. The measured yield of evaporation residues in reactions with massive nuclei have been well reproduced by using the partial fusion and quasifission cross sections obtained in the dinuclear-system model. The influence of the orientation angles of the projectile- and target-nucleus symmetry axes relative to the beam direction on the production of the evaporation residues is investigated for the 48Ca + 154Sm reaction as a function of the beam energy. At the low beam energies only the orientation angles close to αP = 30° (projectile) and αP = 0°–15° (target) can contribute to the formation of evaporation residues. At large beam energies (about E c.m. = 140–180 MeV) the collisions at all values of orientation angles αP and α T of reactants can contribute to the evaporation residue cross section which ranges between 10–100 mb, while at E c.m. > 185 MeV the evaporation residue cross section ranges between 0.1–1 mb because the fission barrier for the compound nucleus decreases by increasing its excitation energy and angular momentum.  相似文献

The covariant and non-covariant Quantum Molecular Dynamics models are applied to investigate possible relativistic effects in heavy ion collisions at SIS energies. These relativistic effects which arise due to the full covariant treatment of the dynamics are studied at bombarding energiesE lab=50, 250, 500, 750, 1000, 1250, 1500, 1750 and 2000 MeV/nucl. A wide range of the impact parameter fromb=0 fm tob=10 fm is also considsered. In the present study, five systems12C-12C,16O-16O,20Ne-20Ne,28Si-28Si and40Ca-40Ca are investigated. The full covariant treatment at low energies shows quite good agreement with the corresponding non-covariant whereas at higher energies it shows less stopping and hence less thermal equilibrium as compared to the non-covariant approach. The collisions dynamics is less affected. The density using RQMD rises and drops faster than with QMD. The relativistic effects show some influence on the resonance matter production. Overall, the relativistic effects at SIS energies (≦2000 MeV/nucl.) are less significant.  相似文献

In this paper, we present the results of our investigation of reaction dynamics leading to incomplete fusion of heavy ions at moderate excitation energies, especially the influence of incomplete fusion on complete fusion of 12C -induced reactions at specific energies ≈ 4–7.2M eV/nucleon. Excitation functions of various reaction products populated via complete and/or incomplete fusions of a 12C projectile with 93Nb, 59Co and 52Cr targets were measured at several specific energies ≈ 4–7.2 MeV/nucleon, using a recoil catcher technique, followed by off-line γ-ray spectrometry. The measured excitation functions were compared with theoretical values obtained using the PACE4 statistical model code. For representative non-α-emitting channels in the 12C + 93Nb system, the experimentally measured excitation functions were, in general, found to be in good agreement with the theoretical predictions. However, for α-emitting channels in the 12C + 93Nb, 12C + 59Co, and 12C + 52Cr systems, the measured excitation functions were higher than the predictions of the theoretical model code, which may be credited to incomplete fusion reactions at these energies. An attempt was made to estimate the incomplete fusion fraction for the present systems, which revealed that the fraction was sensitive to the projectile energy and mass asymmetry of the entrance channel.  相似文献

Excitation functions for the production of eight radioactive products of the reactions of 7Li on 56Fe have been measured up to E(7 Li) = 89 MeV. Recoil range distributions for these products, together with inclusive proton, deuteron, triton and alpha spectra, have been measured at energies of 50 and 68 MeV. The α, t and d spectra show characteristic “break-up” components at forward angles, while the recoil distributions show evidence of complete fusion and incomplete-fusion process 56Fe( 7Li,α) 59Co * . A parallel study on 55Mn shows some evidences of the ( 7Li,t) incomplete-fusion process, but the cross-section for this process is significantly less than for the triton fusion process. The recoil distributions can be reproduced on the assumption that essentially all the observed break-up fragments are in fact associated with incomplete fusion, but uncertainties in normalisation leave open the possibility of a significant contribution of pure break-up. A diffraction model of the ( 7Li,α) transfer process reproduces the observed break-up α spectra with some success. Received: 29 March 2001 / Accepted: 12 November 2001  相似文献

New data for the diffractive reaction p+N→ [Σ0 K +] +N at E p= 70 GeV were obtained with partially upgraded SPHINX setup. The data are in a good agreement with the results of our previous study of this reaction. In the mass spectrum M0 K +) a structure at the threshold region with a mass ∼1810 MeV and a distinct X(2000) peak with M= 1989 ± 6 MeV and γ= 91 ± 20 MeV are observed. Unusual features of the massive X(2000) state (narrow decay width, anomalously large branching ratio for the decay channel with strange particle emission) make it a serious candidate for cryptoexotic pentaquark baryon with hidden strangeness |qqqsˉs>. We also present new results on the narrow threshold structure X(1810) with M= 1807 ± 7 MeV and γ= 62 ± 19 MeV which is produced in the region of very small P 2 T < 0.01 GeV2. The possibility of the Coulomb production mechanism for X(1810) is discussed. Received: 28 April 1999  相似文献

Velocity distributions of heavy residuesA Res>A tar,Z Res>Z tar identified by means ofα spectroscopy, have been investigated at the velocity filter SHIP in reactions20Ne+208Pb at projectile energies E/A=8.6, 11.4 and 15.0 MeV/u. Besides products from complete or nearly complete fusion, characterized by velocity distributions peaking atν/ν CN?0.8–1.0, heavy residues with mean velocities of about half of the compound nucleus velocity were observed. The Z-distribution of this component was found to peak atZ=87. It is interpreted as residues from fusion of target nuclei with projectile fragments produced by nearly symmetric break-up. The experimental results were compared with predictions of theoretical models: cross sections for incomplete fusion were calculated using the sum-rule model of Wilcynski et al., while residue cross sections were calculated using the evaporation code HIVAP. A fair agreement between experimental and calculated mass distributions of heavy residues and transferred projectile fragments is achieved if an energy dissipation of ?23% (at E/A=8.6 MeV/u) and ?8% (at E/A=11.4 MeV/u) of the incident projectile energy is introduced. The observed peak of theZ-distribution atZ=87 is predominantly effected due to a higher fission probability of products withZ>87 during the deexcitation process and experimental limitations in the identification of products withZ≦86 by means of a spectroscopy, which cause a decrease of the observed production rates towards lowerZ.  相似文献

We analyze the dependence of heavy quark free energies on the baryon chemical potential μb in 2-flavor QCD by performing a 6th order Taylor expansion in the chemical potential which circumvents the sign problem. The bare quark mass at corresponds to a pion mass of about 770 MeV and is thus not in the range of physical quark masses but the quark mass dependence is known to be small above Tc. At Nτ = 4 the lattices are coarse, however, we are using improved (p4 staggered) fermions. The Taylor expansion coefficients of color singlet and color averaged free energies are calculated and from this the expansion coefficients for the corresponding screening masses are determined. We find that for small μb the free energies of a static quark-antiquark pair decrease in a medium with a net excess of quarks and that screening is well described by a screening mass which increases with increasing μb. The μb-dependent corrections to the screening masses are well described by perturbation theory for T ≳ 2Tc. In particular, we find for all temperatures above Tc that the expansion coefficients for singlet and color averaged screening masses differ by a factor 2. Lifetimes of excited states in 110Cd have been measured by the Doppler shift attenuation method in the reaction (α,2nγ) at E α= 25 MeV. Lifetime values for 8 states and lifetime limits for 3 states were obtained. The band structures of 110Cd have been interpreted in terms of a modified version of the interacting boson model (IBM + 2 q.p.). The calculations explain well the excitation energies and electromagnetic transition probabilities up to J π= 16+, except for the 10+ 1 state. The structural features are discussed in terms of collective and two quasiparticle excitations. Received: 20 March 1999 / Revised version: 28 May 1999  相似文献

High-spin states in 183Os have been studied by means of in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy. Two isomers with I π= ((43/2)) and (43/2)+ have been identified at excitation energies of E x = 5.068 and 5.168 MeV. The half-lives are determined as T 1/2= 27 ± 3 and 24 ± 2 ns. Received: 22 December 1997  相似文献

Elastic scattering angular distributions have been measured for 7Be + 9Be system at Elab = 17, 19 and 21 MeV in the angular range θcm=26–58°, and for 7Li + 9Be system at Elab= 15.75, 24 and 30 MeV. An optical model (OM) analysis of these data have been carried out. For the 7Li + 9Be system fusion cross sections were obtained at Elab = 15.75, 24 and 30 MeV by measuring the α-evaporation spectra from the compound nucleus at backward angles. The measured α-evaporation spectra were reproduced by the statistical model calculations and fusion cross sections were extracted therefrom. The ratios of the experimental fusion cross sections to the total reaction cross sections (obtained form OM analysis) were found to be rather small. This result suggests that break-up process has a strong influence on fusion process leading to a reduction in fusion cross section.  相似文献

A procedure for and the results from the energy calibration of a ΔE-E scintillation telescope used in experiments performed at the INR to study the nd-breakup reaction are described. The telescope was calibrated using a beam of α particles with an energy of 30 MeV of the U-120 cyclotron (INP). Secondary protons from the 10,11B(α, p) reaction were recorded by the ΔE-E telescope at several recording angles and with the application of different absorbing foils. The calibration results from the ΔE-E telescope were obtained over the interval E p = 10–30 MeV, allowing us to measure the energies of secondary protons in the ndbreakup reaction when the energy of primary neutrons is 20–60 MeV.  相似文献

The reaction 30Si + 238U → 268Sg* was studied at beam energies close to the Coulomb barrier. At a center-of-mass energy of E c.m. = 144.0MeV for reactions at half thickness of the target we measured three decay chains of 263Sg produced by evaporation of five neutrons. The cross-section was ( 67+67 -37) pb. At E c.m. = 133.0MeV we measured three spontaneously fissioning nuclei which we assigned to the isotope 264Sg. The production cross-section was ( 10+10 -6) pb and a half-life of ( 120+126 -44) ms was determined. This half-life is a factor of twenty shorter than theoretical predictions. At E c.m. = 128.0MeV an upper cross-section limit of 15pb was measured. The cross-section data reveal a strong influence of the orientation of the deformed target nucleus on the production yield. Compared to excitation functions measured for the lighter system 16O + 238U → 254Fm*, a reduction of the fusion probability was observed at low beam energies indicating increasing competition from quasifission processes.  相似文献

We study the perspectives of resonant charmonium production in ˉp + A reactions within the Multiple Scattering Monte Carlo (MSMC) approach. We calculate the production of the resonances Ψ(2S) and Ψ(3770) on various nuclei, their propagation and decay to dileptons and D + ˉD in the medium and vacuum, respectively, employing parametrizations for the D,ˉD self-energies taken from QCD sum rule studies. The elastic and inelastic interactions of the charmonia and open-charm mesons in the medium are taken into account, too. It is found that the D,ˉD invariant-mass spectra from light and heavy nuclei are not sufficiently sensitive to the in-medium properties of the Ψ(2S) and Ψ(3770). However, a “suppression” of low-mass dileptons from the Ψ(3770) might be seen experimentally as well as a small broadening of the Ψ(2S) dilepton spectra. Cross-sections, beam asymmetries, and recoil polarisations for the reactions γpK +Λ;γpK +Σ0, and γpK 0Σ+ have been measured by the SAPHIR, CLAS, and LEPS Collaborations with high statistics and good angular coverage for centre-of-mass energies between 1.6 and 2.3 GeV. The combined analysis of these data with data from π and η photoproduction reveals evidence for new baryon resonances in this energy region. A new P11 state with mass 1840 MeV and width 140 MeV was observed contributing to most of the fitted reactions. The data demand the presence of two D13 states at 1875 and, optimistically, at 2170 MeV.  相似文献
