设计了一种涂覆石墨烯的椭圆形电介质纳米线光波导.采用分离变量法,在椭圆柱坐标系中,借助Mathieu函数,得到了色散方程.通过数值求解色散方程,可以得到模式的有效折射率和场分布,从而得到模式的传播长度.研究了工作波长、结构参数以及石墨烯的费米能对模式特性的影响,并给出了前五个模式的品质因数.计算表明,当波长从4.3μm增加到8.8μm,这5个模式的有效折射率的实部减小,基模和一阶模的传播长度增大,二阶模的传播长度先增大后减小.当改变纳米线结构参数半长轴和半短轴时,对基模和一阶模的模式特性影响较小,对二阶模的模式特性影响较大.当石墨烯的费米能从0.45 eV增加到0.72 eV时,有效折射率的实部减小,传播长度可以达到2μm左右.分离变量法得到的结果与有限元方法得到的结果完全一致.本文工作可以为基于涂覆石墨烯的电介质纳米线的光波导的设计、制作和应用提供理论基础.  相似文献

The propagation of the HE11 mode and Gaussian beams in hollow oversized circular waveguides is analyzed using optical theories. Different types of waveguides are considered : hollow dielectric or conducting waveguides, dielectric-lined waveguides, corrugated waveguides. General formulas are derived which give the power transmission through these different guides. The best wall materials and structures are determined from a comparison of the waveguide transmissions, at the infrared and millimeter wavelengths. The question of the coupling between the HE11 mode and Gaussian beams is discussed and from a review of coupling coefficients derived before, an optimum value is pointed out. The problem of matching a Gaussian beam into circular waveguides in order to achieve the maximum power transmission is analyzed. These results are of interest for infrared lasers or waveguide applications and for Electron Cyclotron Wave (ECW) systems at the millimeter wavelength.  相似文献

针对介质参数及海底边界水平变化波导中的声传播问题,本文基于多模态导纳法提出一种能量守恒且便于数值稳定求解的耦合模态方法.将声压表示为一组正交完备的本地本征函数之和,对声压满足的Helmholtz方程在本地本征函数上作投影,推导出关于声压模态系数的二阶耦合模态方程组.耦合矩阵直观描述水平变化因素对模态耦合的贡献.为避免直接求解二阶耦合模态方程组可能遇到的数值发散问题,将其重构为两个耦合的一阶演化方程组,引入导纳矩阵并使用Magnus数值积分方法获得稳定的声场解.利用该耦合模态方法数值计算水平变化波导中的声场,并与COMSOL参考解比较,结果表明该耦合模态理论能够精确求解水平变化波导中的点源及分布源传播问题.  相似文献

采用二维时域有限差分(FDTD)法,分析并对比了弯曲分叉部分的形状分别为正弦形和圆弧形的基于金属-绝缘体-金属(MIM)型表面等离子体光波导的Y形分束器的反射率、传输率以及能量分束比随几何结构参数的变化关系。数值计算表明,波导宽度对这两种Y形分束器传输特性的影响较为明显,两个输出分支的偏移量和弯曲分叉部分的长度对这两种Y形分束器传输特性的影响比较微弱。在600~1500nm波长范围内,弯曲分叉部分为圆弧形的Y形分束器的传输特性比弯曲分叉部分为正弦形的好。对于非对称型Y形分束器,当弯曲分叉部分为正弦形时,偏移量对反射率、传输率和能量分束比的调节作用较为明显,能量分束比最大可达到2∶1。当弯曲分叉部分为圆弧形时,偏移量对反射率、传输率和能量分束比的调节作用较为微弱。  相似文献

Elliptical deformation of oversized, smooth-wall circular waveguides can produce choosable elliptical or circular polarization from a linearly polarized TE11 or TM11 mode used as intermediate linearly polarized modes in TEO1 to HE11 mode conversion sequences in electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH) of magnetically confined thermonuclear fusion plasmas with high-power gyrotrons. Mode coupling in elliptically distorted overmoded circular waveguides has been studied theoretically and experimentally in order to optimize TE11 (and TM11) polarizers (I.D.=27.79 mm) for the 1 MW/70 GHz long-pulse (3s) ECRH system on the Garching Stellarator W VII-AS. Coupling coefficients for ellipticity coupling of non-degenerate modes are given (coupled-mode differential equations formalism). The polarization converters essentially consist of smooth-wall circular waveguides which are gradually squeezed. A sine-squared function of the length coordinate is used to get an almost elliptical crosssection in the middle and circular cross sections at both ends. Arbitrary elliptical polarization states can be generated introducing an extremely low level (<<1%) of undesired spurious modes. 用平面射映边界条件的伽辽金法分析耦合脊形光波导的结果表明,耦合脊形光波导的耦合能力随脊高增加而减小,随波导间距增加呈指数衰减。给出了耦合脊形光波导所承载的偶、奇模电场分布,其结果与采用其它方法得出的结果吻合得较好,可以优化波导光电子器件的结构参数。另外,平面映射边界条件避免了非物理反射,待求矩阵小,计算效率高。  相似文献

A numerical method for obtaining mode cutoffs for planar waveguides with arbitrary index profiles is developed. The method is based on the Galerkin method in which the wave equation for modes at cutoff is converted to a matrix eigenvalue equation using a set of orthogonal basis functions. Due to different boundary conditions, we have identified two separate cases; one, in which the cover and the substrate indices are identical leading to same behavior of the field at cutoff in these two regions and, the other, in which the two indices are different and hence, the field behaves differently. We have accordingly chosen different basis functions for the two cases. The method results in a generalized matrix eigenvalue problem which has been converted to a standard symmetric matrix eigenvalue analytically. The method has been used to obtain mode cutoffs for waveguides with a variety of index profiles. Comparisons with available exact results show that very good accuracies can be obtained with moderate matrix sizes.  相似文献

A compact two-dimensional finite-difference time-domain method is developed for the modal analysis of nonuniform dielectric waveguides. The unsplit-field perfectly-matched-layer absorbing boundary condition has also been extended to this approach. The proposed method approximates the maxwell equations by using the semivectorial wave equations, and the dominant electric fields are solved for two perpendicular polarizations. By introducing the new techniques, complex variables can be avoided in the calculations. At the same time, the number of variables is minimized in the computation domain. Through that, approximately half of the computation effort can be saved without accuracy loss. Numerical examples are given to substantiate the theory. Excellent accuracy has been obtained for the entire frequency spectrum, even near the cutoff region.  相似文献

基于变量变换伽辽金法(VTGM),建立了半矢量分析光波导本征值问题的数理模型;获得了矩形光波导、脊形光波导的本征模的模场分布及归一化传播常数,计算结果和已发表的结果非常接近.半矢量VTGM采用平面映射边界条件,避免了边界截断,又能反映模场的偏振特性,是一种较为理想的光子器件分析方法.  相似文献

Using convenient parameters, the mode propagation constants in hollow circular waveguides with low-conductivity wall material are derived into practical formulas. The variations of these propagation constants versus electrical characteristics of the wall material are studied. The results allow the determination of optimal materials for low-loss mode transmission and the improvements achieved with these optimal materials compared to the usual dielectrical materials are pointed out. Application to the particular case of ordinary glass as a guide wall material is made. The condition to have the fundamental EH11 mode the less attanuated is given.  相似文献

The field distributions and propagation constants of the circular electric, circular magnetic and hybrid modes of oversized waveguides are expressed, taking the effects of walls into account. These effects are described by wall functions which depend on surface impedances of the wall, and are determined for different types of guides. The near and far field patterns are derived in the case of real wall functions. It is shown that, for very oversized waveguides, the terms containing wall functions can be ignored in the calculations, and it results that the expressions of fields and propagation constants become independent of the types of waveguides. An application to corrugated waveguides for Electron Cyclotron Resonance Heating experiments shows the variations of the radiation characteristics versus geometric parameters of the corrugations and determines the ranges of interest for these parameters.  相似文献

Considerable simplification has been made in the fabrication of rugged dielectric-coated silver hollow nickel waveguides. The new method is based on the outer-coating method and does not use any expensive equipment; such as RF-sputtering apparatus. 从麦克斯韦方程组出发,结合电磁场的边界条件,推导出介质矩形波导导模的一般色散方程.对普通介质矩形波导和左手介质矩形波导的导模场分布分别进行了数值模拟.通过对比两种介质矩形波导的导模场分布的模拟结果,发现左手介质矩形波导Ex22模的场分布比普通介质波导Ex00模的场更集中在波导中部.同时,根据处理普通介质矩形波导的Marcatili方法.类比得到左手介质矩形波导表面模的色散方程,并数值模拟了低阶模的场分布,结果表明,能量主要集中在波导的四个角区以及波导的边缘.  相似文献

The paper provides theoretical analysis of planar antiresonant reflecting optical waveguides (ARROWs) with thin cores. It is shown that the appropriate choice of the cladding system parameters enables fabrication of thin-core ARROWs with all desired properties, such as low-loss single-mode operation and high refractive-index sensitivity of ARROW mode attenuation.  相似文献
