Mode-locked pulses generated by an Nd-glass laser have been amplified in the forward and reverse directions by an Nd:POCl3:ZrCl4 liquid laser. The gain in the reverse direction was found to be greater than the gain in the forward direction due to a frequency shift introduced in the spectrum of the mode-locked pulses during the first passage through the amplifier. A simple theoretical explanation which is in good agreement with the experimental results is given. 相似文献

This paper investigates a high power all fiber ultrashort pulse laser system. This system consists of a modelocking laser oscillator, a multi-stage amplifier, a pulse selector, and a paired grating pulse compressor.With pulse energy of 12 μJ at repetition rate of 30 kHz, the laser at center wavelength of 1.05 μm was obtained. Pulse propagation in a photochemical iodine laser amplifier is investigated both experimentally and by solving the Maxwell-Schrödinger equations by computer. Pulse shortening and pulse reshaping are observed in agreement with theory. For pulse durations approaching the dephasing time, it is found that a further decrease in duration by gain saturation is hard to obtain and requires high power levels or high initial inversion. The numerical analysis includes reservoir effects due to tightly coupled hyperfine levels in the iodine groundstate and phase modulation (chirping) of the input pulse. Comparison of the iodine parameters with those of Nd and CO2 lasers shows that for nanosecond pulses pulse shortening occurs more readily in the latter two systems in agreement with experiments. 相似文献

A compact tunable high power picosecond green laser pulse source based on frequency doubling of an Yb-doped fiber amplifier
seeded by a gain switch laser diode has been developed. The fiber amplifier generates the picosecond infrared pulses with
average power of 10.3 W, repetition rate of 1 MHz, pulse duration of 150 ps, and tunable range of 20 nm around 1064 nm. For
underwater use, the tunable output infrared pulses are frequency doubled into picosecond green laser pulses, which can be
tuned from 527 to 537 nm with average power of more than 1.1 W, corresponding to an overall conversion efficiency of 10.7%
by a BBO nonlinear crystal. This kind of laser source will have potential application for underwater optical communication. 相似文献

New findings concerning a double-pass amplifier of original design allowing for a significant increase in the peak power of
laser pulses without changing the lasing mean power and pump power are presented. A peak power of 305 kW is demonstrated at

We report an all-fiber pulsed laser with multistage fiber amplifier which was suitable for high power eye-safe free space
optical communications. Tapered structure has been utilized between booster and final amplifiers, which could increase the
power coupling from the former fiber into the core of the latter fiber, and the beam quality of the output laser could be
improved simultaneously. A maximum output power over 6 W has been achieved from the master-oscillator-power-amplifier system.
With the multi-stage configuration and forward pumping, the optical signal to noise ratio was measured to be better than 50

Switchable single and double Brillouin multiwavelength and pulsed laser is successfully demonstrated. Brillouin spacing can be switched from single(0.08 nm) to double spacing(0.16 nm) or vice versa by swapping the ports of the coupler in the proposed configuration. The proposed configuration can also be used to produce pulsed laser by inserting a home-made carbon nanotubes saturable absorber into the laser cavity. A theory is developed for the one-dimensional nonlinear multimode simulation of a Cerenkov maser of special configuration (antenna-amplifier [1, 2]) where a tubular relativistic electron beam propagates along a circular waveguide with a dielectric rod. The operating mode is the fundamental azimuthally asymmetric HE 11 mode. Harmonics at the input signal frequency can be amplified because they fall into the amplification bands for higher modes. At certain parameters, the output power at the second or third harmonic may considerably exceed that of the amplified signal at the fundamental frequency. The powers of output harmonics can be efficiently controlled by varying the point of electron beam extraction from the interaction region, as well as by varying the input frequency or by switching the polarization of the input signal from linear to circular. 相似文献

A pulsed master-oscillator fiber power amplifier system with near diffraction-limited output by use of China-made large-mode-area fiber and a (2 + 1) × 1 multimode combiner is reported. The effect of the seed power on the amplification performance is found. For the seed power, there exists a range within which the pulsed fiber amplifier can operate safely and reliably at a certain pump power. We demonstrate a new kind of picosecond laser source in the UV at a high repetition rate of -45 kHz , using only passive, compact, and simple elements. This system is based on a microchip laser and a very efficient multipass amplifier, both pumped with recently developed high-brightness laser diodes. The system has been optimized to deliver, at a high repetition rate, subnanosecond pulses at the wavelength 355 nm with an energy per pulse of close to 1 muJ (38-mW average power). This source is to our knowledge the first totally passive 300-ps UV laser source at this high repetition rate. 相似文献

Construction details and operating characteristics are reported for a pulsed dye laser oscillator followed by a three-stage dye laser amplifier. The system is excited with 220 mJ of the second or120 mJ of the third harmonic radiation of a Nd-YAG laser. With Rhodamine dyes the output energy exceeds 55 mJ (9 MW peak power). Coumarin dyes provide pulses of more than 15 mJ (3 MW). Spectral narrowing to less than 260 MHz or 2.7 × 10 -4 nm at 565 nm is achieved by a single intracavity etalon of 37.5 GHz free spectral range. Gas pressure tuning allows a continuous linear variation of the laser frequency over more than 3.9 × 103 GHz (4 nm at 565 nm). The frequency doubled laser output provides tunable UV light of narrow bandwidth (1.4 × 10-4 nm) and of peak powers exceeding 3 MW. 相似文献

探讨了脉冲储能型重复频率片状Yb:YAG激光放大器抽运过程中的自发辐射放大(ASE)效应和能量提取过程.在Yb3+离子抽运动力学的基础上,建立了抽运过程中的自发辐射放大模型,计算了Yb:YAG晶体中三维含时储能密度分布和全片可提取能量.讨论了不同介质尺寸、掺杂浓度及厚度、介质温度参数下,自发辐射放大对储能的影响.给出了较为优化的设计,将有助于基于Yb激光材料的大能量二极管抽运的固体激光器设计.
