Alkaloids ofThalictrum simplex

Conclusions Eleven alkaloids have been isolated from the roots ofThalictrum simplex L. Thalicmine, thalicminine, -allocryptopine, and magnoflorine have been found in this species for the first time. Thalicmidine and thalictrisine are new alkaloids.The main alkaloids of this species of plant are hernandezine in the tertiary fraction and magnoflorine in the quaternary fraction.

From young shoots ofBerberis turcomanica Kar. we have isolated the new bistetrahydroisoquinoline base turconidine. Its structure has been established by the results of UV, mass, and PMR spectroscopies and also from measurements of intramolecular NOEs.     

Berberis alkaloids XXXV. The structure of nummularine

The new N-benzyltetrahydroisoquinoline alkaloid nummularine has been isolated from the leaves ofBerberis nummularia. On the basis of a study of its spectral characteristics (PMR, IR, and mass spectra), the structure of nummularine has been established as 6-hydroxy-N-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzyl)-7-methoxy-1-methyltetrahydroisoquinoline.Translated from Khimiya Prirodnykh Soedinenii, Vol. 33, No. 1, pp. 91–93, January–February, 1997.

Alkaloids of far-eastern species ofThalictrum. IV

The alkaloid composition of four far-eastern species ofThalictrum — Th. amurense, Th. contortum, Th. filamentosum, andTh. minus — have been studied, for the first time in the case of the first three species.Th. amurense contains β-allocryptopine and thalictrisine, andTh. contortum contains β-allocryptopine. Glaucine and thalicsimidine have been found inTh. filamentosum, and argemonine has been isolated fromTh. minus for the first time.
