Abstract

Let 𝕂 be a field of characteristic zero, and R be a G-graded 𝕂-algebra. We consider the algebra R ? E, then deduce its G × ?2-graded polynomial identities starting from the G-graded polynomial identities of R. As a consequence, we describe a basis for the ? n  × ?2-graded identities of the algebras M n (E). Moreover we give the graded cocharacter sequence of M 2(E), and show that M 2(E) is PI-equivalent to M 1,1(E) ? E. This fact is a particular case of a more general result obtained by Kemer.  相似文献

We consider polynomial identities of group algebras over a field F of characteristic zero. We prove that any PI group algebra satisfies the same identities as a matrix algebra M n (F ), where n is the maximal degree of finite dimensional representations of the group over algebraic extensions of F.  相似文献

Let W be an associative PI-algebra over a field F of characteristic zero, graded by a finite group G. Let idG(W) denote the T-ideal of G-graded identities of W. We prove: 1. [G-graded PI-equivalence] There exists a field extension K of F and a finite-dimensional Z/2Z×G-graded algebra A over K such that idG(W)=idG(A) where A is the Grassmann envelope of A. 2. [G-graded Specht problem] The T-ideal idG(W) is finitely generated as a T-ideal. 3. [G-graded PI-equivalence for affine algebras] Let W be a G-graded affine algebra over F. Then there exists a field extension K of F and a finite-dimensional algebra A over K such that idG(W)=idG(A).  相似文献

In this paper we describe completely the involutions of the first kind of the algebra UTn(F) of n×n upper triangular matrices. Every such involution can be extended uniquely to an involution on the full matrix algebra. We describe the equivalence classes of involutions on the upper triangular matrices. There are two distinct classes for UTn(F) when n is even and a single class in the odd case.Furthermore we consider the algebra UT2(F) of the 2×2 upper triangular matrices over an infinite field F of characteristic different from 2. For every involution *, we describe the *-polynomial identities for this algebra. We exhibit bases of the corresponding ideals of identities with involution, and compute the Hilbert (or Poincaré) series and the codimension sequences of the respective relatively free algebras. Then we consider the *-polynomial identities for the algebra UT3(F) over a field of characteristic zero. We describe a finite generating set of the ideal of *-identities for this algebra. These generators are quite a few, and their degrees are relatively large. It seems to us that the problem of describing the *-identities for the algebra UTn(F) of the n×n upper triangular matrices may be much more complicated than in the case of ordinary polynomial identities.  相似文献

Lret N be a nilpotent of class 2 Lie algebra with one-dimensional centre C = Kc over an infinite field K and let p : N → Endk:(V) be a representation of N in a vector space V such that p(c) is invertible in Endk(V). We find a basis for the identities of the representation p. As consequences we obtain a basis for all the weak polynomial identities of the pair (M2:(K), s12(K)) over an infinite field K of characteristic 2 and describe the identities of the regular representation of Lie algebras related with the Weyl algebra and its tensor powers.  相似文献

Let M n (K) be the algebra of all n × n matrices over an infinite field K. This algebra has a natural ℤ n -grading and a natural ℤ-grading. Finite bases for its ℤ n -graded identities and for its ℤ-graded identities are known. In this paper we describe finite generating sets for the ℤ n -graded and for the ℤ-graded central polynomials for M n (K) Partially supported by CNPq 620025/2006-9  相似文献

The Hurwitz problem of composition of quadratic forms, or of “sum of squares identity” is tackled with the help of a particular class of (Z/2Z)n-graded non-associative algebras generalizing the octonions. This method provides explicit formulas for the classical Hurwitz-Radon identities and leads to new solutions in a neighborhood of the Hurwitz-Radon identities.  相似文献

We define aZ/2Z-graded cocharacter forZ/2Z-graded algebras with graded identities. We relate this cocharacter to the ordinary cocharacter and use it to study graded tensor products and a graded version of the Capelli identity. Partially supported by NSF grant DMS 585-05767.  相似文献

In this note we exhibit bases of the polynomial identities satisfied by the Grassmann algebras over a field of positive characteristic. This allows us to answer the following question of Kemer: Does the infinite dimensional Grassmann algebra with 1, over an infinite fieldK of characteristic 3, satisfy all identities of the algebraM 2(K) of all 2×2 matrices overK? We give a negative answer to this question. Further, we show that certain finite dimensional Grassmann algebras do give a positive answer to Kemer's question. All this allows us to obtain some information about the identities satisfied by the algebraM 2(K) over an infinite fieldK of positive odd characteristic, and to conjecture bases of theidentities ofM 2(K).  相似文献

One of the main features of the theory of polynomial identities is the existence (for anyn) of a division algebra of degreen, formed by adjoining quotients of central elements of the algebra of genericn×n matrices; this division algebra is extremely interesting and has been used by Amitsur (forn divisible by either 8 or the square of an odd prime) as an example of a non-crossed product central division algebra. The main object of this paper is to obtain, in a parallel method, division algebras with involution of the first kind, knowledge of which would answer some long-standing questions in the theory of division algebras with involution. One such question is, “Is every division algebra with involution of the first kind a tensor product of quaternion division algebras?” In the process, a theory of (polynomial) identities in algebras with involution is developed with emphasis on prime PI-algebras with involution.  相似文献

Using the notion of truncating twisting function from a simplicial set to a cubical set a special, bitwisted, Cartesian product of these sets is defined. For the universal truncating twisting function, the (co)chain complex of the corresponding bitwisted Cartesian product agrees with the standard Cartier (Hochschild) chain complex of the simplicial (co)chains. The modelling polytopes Fn are constructed. An explicit diagonal on Fn is defined and a multiplicative model for the free loop fibration ΩYΛYY is obtained. As an application we establish an algebra isomorphism H(ΛY;Z)≈S(U)⊗Λ(s−1U) for the polynomial cohomology algebra H(Y;Z)=S(U).  相似文献

A Leavitt path algebra associates to a directed graph a ?-graded algebra and in its simplest form it recovers the Leavitt algebra L(1, k). In this note, we first study this ?-grading and characterize the (?-graded) structure of Leavitt path algebras, associated to finite acyclic graphs, C n -comet, multi-headed graphs and a mixture of these graphs (i.e., polycephaly graphs). The last two types are examples of graphs whose Leavitt path algebras are strongly graded. We give a criterion when a Leavitt path algebra is strongly graded and in particular characterize unital Leavitt path algebras which are strongly graded completely, along the way obtaining classes of algebras which are group rings or crossed-products. In an attempt to generalize the grading, we introduce weighted Leavitt path algebras associated to directed weighted graphs which have natural ⊕?-grading and in their simplest form recover the Leavitt algebras L(n, k). We then show that the basic properties of Leavitt path algebras can be naturally carried over to weighted Leavitt path algebras.  相似文献

Let A be an association scheme on q3 vertices. We show that the Bose-Mesner algebra of the generalized Hamming scheme H(n,A), for n?2, is not the Nomura algebra of any type II matrix. This result gives examples of formally self-dual Bose-Mesner algebras that are not the Nomura algebras of type II matrices.  相似文献

The algebras A a,b appeared in the study of the tensor products of verbally prime PI algebras. They are in-between the well known algebras M n (E) and ${M_{a,b}(E)\otimes E}$ , see the definitions below. Here E is the Grassmann algebra. The main result of this note consists in showing that the algebras A a,b and M a+b (E) are not PI equivalent in characteristic p > 2.  相似文献

Let F be an infinite field and let Mn(F) be the algebra of n×n matrices over F endowed with an elementary grading whose neutral component coincides with the main diagonal. In this paper, we find a basis for the graded polynomial identities of Mn(F) with the transpose involution. Our results generalize for infinite fields of arbitrary characteristic previous results in the literature, which were obtained for the field of complex numbers and for a particular class of elementary G-gradings.  相似文献

We study the relation of Z2equivariant and Z2graded KK-theory. The former is the universal stable, split exact and homotopy invariant theory on the category of Z2graded C*algebras and graded homomorphisms (Theorem 1). We obtain an abstract characterization for the product of the graded KK-functor (Theorem 2). We give generalizations to Z2graded C*algebras of the Universal Coefficent Theorem, Künneth Theorem and Künneth Theorem for tensor products. We prove some results about graded crossed products of Thom isomorphism and Pimsner-Voiculescu type (Theorem 3 and Corollary 2) and compute an example. We obtain a split surjective map KK(A,B) KK(A0,B0) commuting with products, where A0is a canonically defined trivially graded algebra for any Z2-graded A.  相似文献

Let Mn(F) be the algebra of n×n matrices over a field F, and let AMn(F) have characteristic polynomial c(x)=p1(x)p2(x)?pr(x) where p1(x),…,pr(x) are distinct and irreducible in F[x]. Let X be a subalgebra of Mn(F) containing A. Under a mild hypothesis on the pi(x), we find a necessary and sufficient condition for X to be Mn(F).  相似文献
