Raman scattering measurements were conducted for a 4-aminobenzenethiol (4-ABT) monolayer assembled on a macroscopically smooth Au substrate. Although no peak was detected at the beginning, Raman peaks were distinctly observed by attaching Ag or Au nanoparticles onto the 4-ABT monolayer (Ag(Au)@4-ABT/Au(flat)). Considering the fact that no Raman signal is observed when Ag (Au) nanoparticles are adsorbed on a (4-aminophenyl)silane monolayer assembled on a silicon wafer, the Raman spectrum observed for Ag(Au)@4-ABT/Au(flat) must be a surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectrum, derived from the electromagnetic coupling of the localized surface plasmon of Ag (Au) nanoparticles with the surface plasmon polariton of the underneath Au metal. The electromagnetic coupling responsible for SERS appeared to be governed more by the bulk Au substrate than the sparsely distributed Ag or Au nanoparticles. The chemical enhancement appeared on the other hand to be derived more from the formation of Au-S bonds than any charge-transfer interaction between the protonated amine group and the Au or Ag nanoparticles. The enhancement factors derived from the attachment of a single Ag or Au nanoparticle onto 4-ABT on Au were estimated to be as large as 8.3 x 10(5) and 5.0 x 10(5), respectively, (for the ring 3 band (b(2)) near 1390 cm(-1)) in which a factor of approximately 10(2) was presumed to be due to the chemical effect, with the remaining contributed by the electromagnetic effect.  相似文献

A facile preparative route to alkanethiolate (Cn) Au38 nanoparticles, where n = 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12, is described. Subnanometer-sized nanoparticles are initially produced by a modified Brust synthesis, which undergo core-size evolution upon removal of reaction impurities that have served as additional protecting layers. C4-C12 Au38 nanoparticles are prepared in approximately 300 mg quantities by the selective removal of reaction impurities with dimethyl sulfoxide. The prepared nanoparticles are 1.1-1.2 nm in core size, and all exhibit optical and electrochemical characteristics of Au38 nanoparticles. Voltammetry of these Au38 nanoparticles reveals that the energy gap between the first one-electron oxidation and the first reduction is rather insensitive to the ligand employed. By contrast, the energy gaps between the first and second oxidations and between the second and third oxidations are ligand-dependent; both substantially increase with ligand thickness. The charging energetics of alkanethiolate-coated Au38 nanoparticles can thus be described as a sum of electron addition energies and the discrete electronic energy levels of the Au38 core.  相似文献

In this time researchers make a great efforts to develop new hybrid nanoparticles for medical and pharmaceutical applications. Fe3O4‐Au hybrid heterodimers have been prepared with superior properties for various claims. Unfortunately, Fe3O4‐Au heterodimers are not stable in the physiological medium. In this study, we employed the albumin macromolecules as a stabilizer of Fe3O4‐Au hybrid nanoparticles (noted as Fe3O4‐Au‐BSA hybrid nanoparticles). After characterization of synthesized nanoparticles by FTIR, UV–Vis, TEM, DLS, DSC, VSM and XRD techniques, the in vitro and in vivo biocompatibility of these nanoparticles were also evaluated. We encountered with an amazing result which confirmed nanoparticles could be stabilized by linking the BSA on the surface of Fe3O4‐Au heterodimers. Also, intravenous injection of Fe3O4‐Au‐BSA hybrid nanoparticles up to 400 mg/kg to Balb C mice show that these nanoparticles were non‐toxic. The biocompatibility and stereological study had been performed for more than 30 days after nanoparticles administration, using hystomorphometric analysis. Remarkably, to the best of our knowledge, it was the first time the biocompatibility and biodegradability of Fe3O4‐Au were studied and evaluated by stereological technique. Further promotion and biomedical usage of this type of hybrid nanoparticles are underway in our laboratory.  相似文献

We previously reported that a porphyrin-cored tetradentate passivant, which has two disulfide straps over one face of the porphyrin plane, can produce monolayer-protected gold nanoparticles, 2-4 nm in size, by the one-pot reduction of HAuCl(4) in DMF. The resulting nanoparticles are smaller than those prepared using the same S/Au molar ratio of a monodentate passivant. To examine the formation mechanism of small gold nanoparticles, the formation of gold nanoparticles in the presence of porphyrin-cored tetradentate passivants or a structurally related monodentate passivant was studied by time-resolved quick X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy. The results demonstrated that all of Au ions in solution are reduced to compose small Au clusters, i.e. nuclei, just after the NaBH(4) reduction of HAuCl(4) in both cases, but their size varied with the initial S/Au molar ratios and structure of the passivants. Thus, the size of Au nuclei was kinetically controlled by the passivants. Interestingly, the porphyrin-cored tetradentate passivant could stabilize smaller gold nanoparticles, 2-4 nm in size, but it was less efficient in trapping the Au nuclei formed at a very early stage, in comparison to the monodentate passivant.  相似文献

In this study, we examined the amount-dependent change in morphology for a series of Au/Pt bimetallic nanoparticles synthesized using chemical reduction. The Au/Pt molar ratio was varied from 1/1 to 1/4 to synthesize Pt shell layers with different thicknesses. We have obtained that these bimetallic nanoparticles can form flower-like nanoparticles. Moreover, an extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) analysis was used to demonstrate the structure of Au/Pt bimetallic nanoparticles. The EXAFS results confirmed the formation of a core–shell structure and inter-diffusion between Au and Pt atoms. The composition of the shell layer was found to be Pt-enriched Au/Pt alloy.  相似文献

Branched poly(ethylenimine) (PEI)-capped Au nanoparticles are prepared at room temperature using PEI as the reductant of hydrogen tetrachloroaurate (HAuCl4). The size of Au nanoparticles, ranging from 10 to 70 nm, is readily controlled by varying the relative amount of PEI used initially versus HAuCl4. The PEI-capped Au nanoparticles are further demonstrated to be assembled into a large area of 2-D aggregates at a toluene-water interface either by heating the mixture or by adding benzenethiol to the toluene phase at room temperature. Both films are quite homogeneous, but Au nanoparticles appear to be more closely packed in the film assembled via the mediation of benzenethiol. The optical property of the PEI-capped Au films is controlled by the amount of benzenethiol added to the toluene phase. The obtained large area of PEI-capped Au film exhibits strong SERS activity of benzenethiol and also exhibits a very intense SERS spectrum of 4-nitrobenzenethiol via a place-exchange reaction that takes place between benzenethiol and 4-nitrobenzenethiol. Because the proposed method is cost-effective and is suitable for the mass production of diverse Au films irrespective of the shapes of the underlying substrates, it is expected to play a significant role in the development of optical nanotechnology especially for surface plasmon-based analytical devices.  相似文献

Dome-shaped gold nanoparticles (with an average diameter of 10.5 nm) are grown on H-terminated Si(100) substrates by simple techniques involving electro- and electroless deposition from a 0.05 mM AuCl3 and 0.1 M NaClO4 solution. XPS depth profiling data (involving Au 4f core-level and valence band spectra) reveal for the first time the formation of gold silicide at the interface between the Au nanoparticles and Si substrate. UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectra indicate that both samples have surface plasmon resonance maxima at 558 nm, characteristic of an uniform distribution of Au nanoscale particles of sufficiently small size. Glancing-incidence XRD patterns clearly show that the deposited Au nanoparticles belong to the fcc phase, with the relative intensity of the (220) plane for Au nanoparticles obtained by electroless deposition found to be notably larger than that by electrodeposition.  相似文献

PVP-protected Ag(core)/Au(shell) bimetallic nanoparticles of enough small size, i.e., 1.4nm in diameter were synthesized in one-vessel using simultaneous reduction of the corresponding ions with rapid injection of NaBH(4), and characterized by HR-TEM. The Ag(core)/Au(shell) bimetallic nanoparticles show a high and durable catalytic activity for the aerobic glucose oxidation, and the catalyst can be stably kept for more than 2months under ambient conditions. The highest activity (16,890mol-glucoseh(-1)mol-metal(-1)) was observed for the bimetallic nanoparticles with Ag/Au atomic ratio of 2/8, the TOF value of which is several times higher than that of Au nanoparticles with nearly the same particle size. The higher catalytic activity of the prepared bimetallic nanoparticles than the usual Au nanoparticles can be ascribed to: (1) the small average diameter, usually less than 2.0nm, and (2) the electronic charge transfer effect from adjacent Ag atoms and protecting PVP to Au active sites. In contrast, the Ag-Au alloy nanoparticles, synthesized by dropwise addition of NaBH(4) into the starting solution and having the large mean particle size, showed a low catalytic activity.  相似文献

N-(3-Aminopropyl)-N'-methyl-4,4'-bipyridinium is coupled to tiopronin-capped Au nanoparticles (diameter ca. 2 nm) to yield methyl(aminopropyl)viologen-functionalized Au nanoparticles (MPAV(2+)-Au nanoparticles). In situ electrochemical surface plasmon resonance (SPR) measurements are used to follow the electrochemical deposition of the bipyridinium radical cation modified Au nanoparticles on an Au-coated glass surface and the reoxidation and dissolution of the bipyridinium radical cation film. The MPAV(2+)-functionalized Au nanoparticles are also employed for the amplified SPR detection of NAD(+) and NADH cofactors. By SPR monitoring the partial biocatalyzed dissolution of the bipyridinium radical cation film in the presence of diaphorase (DP) NAD(+) is detected in the concentration range of 1x10(-4) M to 2x10(-3) M. Similarly, the diaphorase-mediated formation of the bipyridinium radical cation film on the Au-coated glass surface by the reduction of the MPAV(2+)-functionalized Au nanoparticles by NADH is used for the amplified SPR detection of NADH in the concentration range of 1x10(-4) M to 1x10(-3) M.  相似文献

Self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) of 4‐aminothiophenol (4‐ATP) has been successfully deposited onto nanometer‐sized gold (Au) electrodes. The cyclic voltammograms obtained on a 4‐ATP SAMs modified electrode show peaks and the peak height is proportional to the scan rate, which is similar to that on an electroactive SAMs modified macro electrode. The electrochemical behavior and mechanism of outer‐sphere electron transfer reaction on the 4‐ATP SAMs modified nanometer‐sized electrode has also been studied. The 4‐ATP SAMs modified electrode is further modified with platinum (Pt) nanoparticles. Electrochemical behaviors show that there is electrical communication between Pt nanoparticles and Au metal on the Pt nanoparticles/4‐ATP SAMs/Au electrode. However, scanning electron microscopic image shows that the Pt nanoparticles are not evenly covered the electrode.  相似文献

In this study, the surface plasmon effect of Au nanoparticles was successfully realized in the solid state by embedding the Au nanoparticles on the surface of the transparent polymer fibers for the first time. Electrospinning a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and HAuCl4 mixture followed by a wet chemical reduction, the gold nanoparticles were formed on the PMMA nanocomposite electrospun fibers in a well‐distributed manner to give photostable purple color. The Au nanoparticles were all sphere shaped with an average diameter of 12 nm. Specifically, simply adjusting HAuCl4 salt concentration in the electrospinning solution, it is able to control the electrospun fiber diameter and gold nanoparticle content in the resulting PMMA/Au nanocomposite fibers. Therefore, the developed method described herein is simple and effective for the large volume production of PMMA/Au nanocomposite fibers. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Customizing core-shell nanostructures is considered to be an efficient approach to improve the catalytic activity of metal nanoparticles. Various physiochemical and green methods have been developed for the synthesis of core-shell structures. In this study, a novel liquid-phase hydrogen reduction method was employed to form core-shell Pt@Au nanoparticles with intimate contact between the Pt and Au particles, without the use of any protective or structure-directing agents. The Pt@Au core-shell nanoparticles were prepared by depositing Au metal onto the Pt core; AuCl4− was reduced to Au(0) by H2 in the presence of Pt nanoparticles. The obtained Pt@Au core-shell structured nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), high-resolution TEM, fast Fourier transform, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and H2-temperature programmed reduction (H2-TPR) analyses. The EDX mapping results for the nanoparticles, as obtained from their scanning transmission electron microscopy images in the high-angle annular dark-field mode, revealed a Pt core with Au particles grown on its surface. Fourier transform measurements were carried out on the high-resolution structure to characterize the Pt@Au nanoparticles. The lattice plane at the center of the nanoparticles corresponded to Pt, while the edge of the particles corresponded to Au. With an increase in the Au content, the intensity of the peak corresponding to Pt in the FTIR spectrum decreased slowly, indicating that the Pt nanoparticles were surrounded by Au nanoparticles, and thus confirming the core-shell structure of the nanoparticles. The XRD results showed that the peak corresponding to Pt shifted gradually toward the Au peak with an increase in the Au content, indicating that the Au particles grew on the Pt seeds; this trend was consistent with the FTIR results. Hence, it can be stated that the Pt@Au core-shell structure was successfully prepared using the liquid-phase hydrogen reduction method. The catalytic activity of the nanoparticles for the oxidation of toluene was evaluated using a fixed-bed reactor under atmospheric pressure. The XPS and H2-TPR results showed that the Pt1@Au1/Al2O3 catalyst had the best toluene oxidation activity owing to its lowest reduction temperature, lowest Au 4d & 4f and Pt 4d & 4f binding energies, and highest Au0/Auδ+ and Pt0/Pt2+ proportions. The Pt1@Au2Al2O3 catalyst showed high stability under dry and humid conditions. The good catalytic performance and high selectivity of Pt@Au/Al2O3 for toluene oxidation could be attributed to the high concentration of adsorbed oxygen species, good low-temperature reducibility, and strong interaction.  相似文献

A facile approach to attach high-density and uniform gold nanoparticles on individual multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) is achieved. By simple grinding, water-soluble linear polymers poly(4-vinylpyridine) (PVP)-wrapped around nanotubes and thus rendered them reversibly soluble in water, ethanol, and DMF. Individual tubes are clearly observed after PVP-wrapped nanotubes were spin-coated onto a silicon wafer. Subsequently, Au nanoparticles were densely decorated on the individual MWNTs by in situ reduction of HAuCl4 in the homogeneous aqueous solution of MWNTs–PVP to form stable water-dispersible Au/PVP/MWNTs hybrid. Morphology of Au nanoparticles was determined by scanning electron microscope and atomic force microscope. The diameter of the Au nanoparticles is controlled in the range of 3.5 to 13.5 nm. The presence of gold nanoparticles with decreased particle size was also detected by UV–Vis spectroscopy.  相似文献

Poly(N‐vinyl‐2‐pyrolidone) protected Pt‐core bimetallic Pt/Au‐shell (Pt@Pt/Au) nanoparticles were prepared by multi‐step reduction of HAuCl4 and H2PtCl6 alternately by hydrogen adsorbed on platinum atom. Transmission electronic microscopy (TEM) and x‐ray diffraction (XRD) were used to characterize Pt@Pt/Au nanoparticles. The structure of the shell of the nanoparticles seems to be the Au‐Pt solid solution.  相似文献

Patterned, amine-terminated monolayers can be fabricated from 4-nitrobenzenethiol (4-NBT) monolayers simply by irradiating under ambient conditions with visible laser after spreading Ag nanoparticles onto selected regions of the 4-NBT monolayers on Au. Au nanoparticles were adsorbed selectively onto the amine groups produced by photoreaction, and polyaniline was found to grow exclusively at the amine groups when electrochemical polymerization was conducted using the patterned substrate as the working electrode. These observations clearly support our previous contention that Ag nanoparticles can act as moderate photoelectron emitters.  相似文献

Pt/Co‐core Au‐shell nanoparticles were synthesized via a two‐step route using NaBH4 as a reducing agent. The nanoparticles are characterized by UV‐vis spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and powder X‐ray diffraction (XRD). The results indicate that the as‐synthesized Pt/Co‐core Au‐shell nanoparticles have a disordered face centered cubic (fcc) structure, whereas the annealed Pt/Co‐core Au‐shell nanoparticles exhibit an ordered face centered tetragonal (fct) structure. Superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) studies reveal that the coercivity of the annealed Pt/Co‐core Au‐shell nanoparticles increases to 510 Oe after heat treatment at 500 °C for 2 h.  相似文献

A remarkable solvent effect in a single-phase synthesis of monodisperse amine-capped Au nanoparticles is demonstrated.Oleylamine-capped Au nanoparticles were prepared via the reduction of HAuCU by an amine-borane complex in the presence of oleylamine in an organic solvent. When linear or planar hydrocarbon(e.g.,n-hexane,n-octane,1-octadecylene,benzene,and toluene) was used as the solvent, high-quality monodisperse Au nanoparticles with tunable sizes were obtained. However,Au nanoparticles with poor size dispersity were obtained when tetralin, chloroform or cyclohexane was used as the solvent. The revealed solvent effect allows the controlled synthesis of monodisperse Au nanoparticles with tunable size of 3-10 nm.  相似文献

A wet chemical route for the preparation of MnO(2) nanosheet/Au nanoparticle/MWNT hybrid materials is developed. The Au nanoparticles are prepared by reducing AuCl(4)(-) with citrate and attached to thiol-modified MWNTs. Owing to the reducing property and the binding ability to Mn-containing species of capping agents surrounded the Au nanoparticles, the MnO(2) nanosheets are formed on the surface of Au nanoparticles. The ternary nanocomposites of MnO(2)/Au/MWNT have been characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and FT-IR spectroscopy. The affiliation of MnO(2) nanosheets into the hybrids remarkably enhances the electrocatalytic performance of Au nanoparticle/MWNT towards the oxygen reduction reaction. The specific capacitance of the ternary hybrids is also increased dramatically comparing with that of Au/MWNT.  相似文献
